Flashing custom rom will change camera quality

i have buy redmi note 3 after my samsung note 3 neo, but 16mp camera of rn3 is not good as samsung 8mp camera, sometime 8mp samsung photos are way better than rn3 16 mp, rn3 photos are very grainy when zoom in but samsung photos are very sharp, so i have read some post on miui forum and internet, and find in some user say that this probelm is due to image processing algorithm of miui, so flashing any custom rom will change my camera quality or not.
OK.

i am telling you my problem and asking for solution..
If you using MIUI stock camera, try another camera app like Google stock one.
MIUI Stock is over-saturated, over-sharpened.
I'm using customized setting for MIUI stock. Lowering everything, contrast, saturation, sharpness.
But camera movie quality on stock MiUi is great! Just Recorder a trial of my Band yesterday and result was best over all AOSP or CM13 tries I did before!!

Hydrogen OS Camera [Clear image/Beautify]

Hydrogen OS Camera for AOSP/CM
Features :

2. Slo mo
3. Timelapse
4. Panorama
5. Auto focus locked
Working :
Everything

Will try
Update: cam is great. Picture quality is nice, handy features. No fc issues while toggling camera but faced fc while toggling video rec.
There is no sync with camera and flash.(faced this on RR 7.1 (5.8.0) might work properly on MM roms.
No FC issue on my side, but manual focus doesn't work on stock Redmi Note 3 (Kate) MiUi 8.0.4.0.
Awesome ! Works nicely
i've tried it months before.....beauty mode doesn't work, camera quality is worse than cm and camera doesn't take pictures properly with flash on.
Dont try this.
cant save to micro sd or i cant find this setting. but looks quite nice
Maybe this one seems to intact an issue on all nougat based ROM, camera does not sync well with flash.
But. All if u have tried snapdragon camera? If not try it, it sync well between camera and flash and had pretty good image quality.

Is it compatible with MIUI ROM?
I tried every camera app out, and Snap Camera HDR is the absolute best in everything, except the UI is kinda hard to figure out.
@Sangeet007
Thanks! Pretty decent images when in Clear Image mode. Definitely better than stock MiUi camera or stock CM camera.

Yeah man, I totally agree that the stock camera is awesome in daylight. But in low light, the stock camera is a murder. This camera takes pretty good images in Clear Image mode during low lighting conditions. Try it yourself buddy! :cyclops:

Never use low light mode on miui cam and I always use flash when I take a picture in a dark area.
But just wanna compare it once again and see the result.

Thank you for your work. It is good to have alternatives for the camera. However, I don't think hydrogen is better with clear image in low light. It keeps the shutter way too high (1/30 seconds) and as a result it is much nosier than every other app (including stock) that I have tested. For me, stock with hht remains the best in low light except for the apps that you can change shutter speed.

No separate link. He just used an effect found in Adobe After Effects. so you have to download After Effects
Which place is this ? And is it Modded GCam ?
Very good to our phone, IMHO this cam is the weak point in RN3 pro... but with software help is good .

Hi,
A very special thanks to B-S-G for making pixel 3 camera port for Poco F1 and
Also Sreekant(XDA senior Member) for letting us know and for links.

When I took some night/low light shots from both gcam6.1 and Poco F1's stock camera I really shocked how good the night mode is.
And I'm also a small growing YouTuber so pls Checkout my channel, that would be too helpful and I really do appreciate it.

Yep. Front camera is where you can notice how bad Stock camera struggles with light exposure. Whereas there's no problem on Gcam.
Please check attached photos, clearly MI 6 wins, even without Gcam. Stock camera HDR on Poco is useless unfortunately
**nevermind
Is it just me or rear potrait mode isn't working?
Front is working like a charm but not rear.

And it's barely noticeable
Nice.,,,
Gotta try this one.
Has anyone compared the video quality on both cameras? Which one is the go?
Impressive, really do good job in low light.
Sorry but... Dont know why you All are so happy with the Port. Its slow... Standard Pictures issue to take 2 or 3 seconds... After 3 shots the App halts. Yes the Image Quality is good but there is no WAY to Make serious images with IT...
Will this work on miui 10? I tried clicking pictures with this v6.1 but it was not working

You've probably not configured it probably
Excuse me? I haven’t configured it proberly?
Are you kiddin me ? Sorry I expected to use a camera app as it comes for the device... my fault. You`re right Next time i’m Gonna configure it correct before using it. Didn’t expect it was windows what we were talking about.
I’m fine if you tell me this app needs a pie rom for best usage and indeed i only tried it on Miui 10 beta so far - but on miui10 it sucks. As i installed in in more than one version.
Edit:
I don`t want to miscredit the developer of the app in general. I really appriciate his work here. I would love to use it really - but cant in daily usage. thats all i wanted to say.

How to enable mirror image on gcam?
In settings the front camera says 5 megapixels and can't be changed higher than that. Are the photos in 5 megapixels or is it just a visual bug.

Realme Camera Port

That's true about the lenses.
Unfortunately I couldn't find a Gcam port with working 64MP mode though...
Does somebody know whether that exists already?
Urnyx05 gcam
I have been using Urnyx05 gcam for past couple of weeks and it's good , support all 4 lenses good for general uses https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1.apk

You won't find working 64mp on any Gcam port. You can get all lenses working and I believe a max of 48mp. That will still get you good photos. Higher megapixels doesn't always mean better pictures. I think you'd be satisfied.

I'm using Urnyx05's GCam port for some months now and am really satisfied. Still I would like to use the full resolution of the sensor to have more detail and be able to zoom in closer. Also using all the Quad Bayer features of the sensor would come in very handy. Otherwise it's just a waste of potential.

Unfortunately to use 64mp you would need to be running stock. I feel you tho, I run AOSP ROMs without Gapps, so I'm limited to just the main sensor at 16mp.

I cannot get the 4K video working at all,
it crushes & shuts down.
have you tried that?
I reported at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83781077&postcount=2600
when change video res to 4K, it crashes and app shuts down
Dear Friends & Developers,
I installed it.
It works great except when I change the video res to 4K, app shuts down, whereas it works in full hd .
I was wondering if it can be fixed.
because I enjoy other functions of the program and I appreciate very much for the hard work.
I hope you fix it so that I could use your program rather than the phones default cam which takes 4K videos without any problem
all the best

Not going to happen. Only way to use stock camera is with stock firmware. If you want all working lenses on a custom rom then you will need Urnyx05 gcam.
Well, it is not what the OP asked for, but there are two free and open source Apps that can help with the Camera:
1. Open Camera - go into settings and enable Camera API V2. the quality of the pictures and videos are good.
2. FDcam - it allows you to use all the cameras, except for the depth camera. They all work.
Unfortunately, none of them get get more than 16Mpixels out of the main camera.
