Was the hardwareAccelerated flag enabled in the manifest xml? It was pretty jittery before and now its smooth as silk, from what I have seen in other apps that flag is usually what resolves it. Anyways, great work man, the launcher is loads more responsive now!
much much faster thank you!
Great job doc! Waiting for what's coming next

Yes. That's where the launcher came from.
This is such a great improvement. I can't believe it's not included by default with the ROMs.

Stock Android Feel Without Root / Other Tweaks

Hey Guys, so basically this guide is going to cover the fact of getting more performance/battery life out of your S8+ by running a more stock Android Like Experience.... Whether your like myself and prefer stock android over ****ty touch wiz or just want your device less debated and to perform smoother than this is for you!
For Starters I would like to point out that you will need to buy 1 app which has a 5 day refund policy if you do not like it.... So the reason this works without root is because u can disable apps now if you have the Exynos models with the root you will not need this app....
I have disabled Basically all of the Stock Samsung Apps and replaced with the following Google Apps.... Now the keyboard is SwiftKey however you are welcome to use the Google keyboard if you prefer it better.... You should install these before you download the. Xml below.... Now you cant get Google dialer or Google contacts off the play store so u must download it off XDA... The Reason we use Google version of these apps vs Samsung's pre-installed ones is because Samsung's apps tend to use more ram and Googles app set it basically what stock Android uses.... Nova Launcher is also a very stock Android Like launcher that myself and others prefer to use on all of our Android devices...

Once you have each of those we can move onto the next step... You will now need to download the app I mentioned before that you have to pay for. You can download that here
HTML:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro&hl=en
and the PD Engine from here
HTML:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mlsplit.samsungservice&hl=en
For this app it will tell you do download something called PD Engine so download that.... Once you load up the app u will need to give it administrator privileges that way it can disable all the apps.... After this is completed and u are on the main screen u can download the XML listed below this post to your phone, and in the Package Disabler Pro App click the 3 dots in the top right corner then click on import from XML and select the file you just downloaded from here. Go back to your home screen and you should see all the Samsung Apps missing as well as Device Maintenance missing from settings.... Note that Face Recognition and Iris is disabled so if you want those turned on read below. You may bow restart your device and you should feel the phone running a lot smoother especially when running multiple apps.... This gives you more of a Google Stock Android Experience for those like myself that prefer it over all the ****ty Samsung bloat apps.... All the Google Apps you download earlier are your replacement for the Samsung apps that are now disabled... Bixby has also been disabled so that button with no longer work, if you want that on look up Bixby in package Disabler pro and uncheck all the boxes...
Turn On Face/Iris Scanner
In the Package Disabler app search for these and uncheck the boxes
Iris
com.sec.factory.iris.usercamera
com.samsung.android.server.iris
Face
com.samsung.faceservice
com.samsung.android.bio.face.service
If you want to use Google Camera or Open Camera
Make sure to Disable com.sec.android.app.camera and the addons for the stock camera app being

[APP] Moto Z3 Play Time & Weather Widget

Came across this on Google+, the person who shared the apk pulled it from the Moto Z3 Play and must have modified to install as a user app. There is a full apk dump here on XDA from the Z3 play, but most of the apps will not install as user apps. I ran several virus checks (because I'm nervous like that) and it came out clean. It's working great on my Pixel 2 XL running Android 9.0 Pie. The weather animation is very cool and subtle, it only occurs when you first unlock your phone (it doesn't constantly animate the weather). Nice and clean design, I always love Moto's time and weather widgets. Even the older ones which were called "Command Center" widgets were, and still are great. This one is now my favorite. Thanks a lot for the app! On my OnePlus 3, it can't be installed as a third party app; needs to be pushed to the system. Also, I can't add cities to the weather, since it throws up the error, "No apps can perform this action".

Received EMUI 11 beta on the international Mate 20 X

I tried to enroll my device in the beta project for EMUI 11. Has not got a feedback through the app, but a month later has received OTA EMUI 11.
No huge changes, bit for a reason the interface looke better (pretty much IOS 14ish. More fluid, better performance as well as few pits and pieces here and there.
So far:
Text optimised cropping. I think it was there already, but now works better.
Better multitasking with apps drawn in a window while ongoing background apps/ interface working simultaneously.
Better visuals, closer to IOS ones (don't know who follows who, got lost a while ago and I don't really care). Actually I like the EMUI idea being a middle ground between iOS and Android
On the other hand, I believe that WiFi is not right with some connectivity issues.
However it's still early days, let's see how it goes

I'm still on EMUI 9.1 because EMUI 10 ruined the speaker sound quality. How is it on EMUI 11?
Oh and the multi screen dock: does it let you launch all the apps you have in split screen or in a floating window, or only some approved apps?

sound quality is veeery subjective, so cant comment on that. especially since i wasnt on 9.x for long, updated to 10 almost instantly.
as for the multi window option, it basically lets u add any app to a sort of quick select, from which u can then create a bunch of floating windows (resizeable)

One last question, about the floating apps. Can you only launch a floating app from the apps you've put in the dock? Or can you also launch them from the whole list of apps you get when you press the "+" icon (or do you have to put them in the dock first)?

no worries, happy to help. the dock has a total of 15 slots and can be configured freely with any user installed apps. once added, u can then open the apps from the dock as floating windows.

the dock is not always showing, if that is your worry. there is a shortcut gesture, dragging from the side of the screen towards the center and then hold a bit, that brings up the dock.
if i remember correctly, there is a different gesture that can activate split-screen mode with currently running apps. dont remember what that was though (i only ever use one floating window at a time, usually for watching a video while surfing the net or texting)

Themes / Apps / Mods How-To Enable Two-Button Navigation on Android 12 (Root Required)!

I am a huge fan of the old Two-Button Navigation that Google gave us with Android 9. I always try the latest and greatest with nav gestures and always come away feeling like they are lacking. Unfortunately, Google officially removed Two-Button Navigation with Android 10. Fortunately, there's a way to bring it back! And it's even easier now than it was before! Just install the Magisk Module and enable it in Settings.

The link won't take you directly to the files like in the video. IDK if they were moved or what, but you can find them pretty easily if you navigate through the folders and find one named "Magisk modules". Confirmed that this does work on the Pixel 6 (oriole).

Sorry, I'm not sure what link you're looking at but the link in the OP is the same one I used in the video. Can you show me what link you're looking at so that I can fix it? Thanks!

Actually, that's on me. I copied the link into Chat from my browser so I could click on it from my phone rather than trying to find the post from the app, because I'm lazy. Chat inexplicably only hyperlinked up to the "Misc" folder, so I essentially clicked on https://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Misc Disregard then.

Lol that's actually not you at all! That's 100% on me and the noob I was when I built the site 10+ years ago. I put a space in "Misc Files" instead of an underscore or something and most browsers don't like spaces. I've wanted to fix that for years but it would require some massive overhauls and updating hundreds of links all over the Internet. Sorry for the pain!
Does this work on 13 beta?

I haven't tested it yet but I don't see why it wouldn't. Give it a try and let us know?

Awesome! Thank you for letting us know. Enjoy!
I've been using this on Android 13 since it's official launch on Pixel, and the swipe up to go to recents gesture isn't working anymore.

working fine on pixel 6a with A13.
proof: https://streamable.com/sc3u61
was also wondering: is there a way to reorient back button from left to right?

Can you try testing the following:
Turn off Auto Rotate.
Turn your phone sideways while using an app that supports sideways view.
Check if the "rotate display" icon appears.
The reason I am asking is because the "rotate display" icon no longer shows up for me after updating to Android 13.
