Scrolling stutter with some apps not all 10 pro 6GB - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Anyone know why some apps and websites are silky smooth and some others stutters too much while scrolling
Sometimes even in the same app for example the news feed in Facebook app is fine but if i enter a group page it stutters and becomes very slow ?

Same here the biggest issue is to facebook app.

Am now using a great free app called swipe for Facebook its ultra smooth and has a lot of fb app features not like the lite versions or the web version

Yup. Agreed. Reminds me of the earlier TouchWiz days. Not sure what Huawei is up to, because my Mate 9 Pro is more consistently smooth. The latest upgrade I had already improved some apps, most notably Google maps.

I am back to 115 because 127 only improved instagram and the overall filling was worst.
I love this phone but my galaxy s6 edge is a lot smoother for now!!!!

I am an old Samsung user
S1 s3 note 3 note 5 s7edge till i got the mate 9 then mate 10 pro
Samaung can no way be as smooth as the Huawei but it must be due too early firmwares
They already in 1 month or 2 released many firmwares
115
119
125
126
127
128 is the latest till now

Let your mate 10 pro memorize your pattern, let the machine learning do its job, give it a week. All will be smooth after

I'm sorry, but that's nonsense. Well optimizer phones have smooth scrolling without some fancy machine learning. Besides, the machine learning is for battery optimization.

Even I had scrolling lags on some apps initially, don't know if it's due to machine learning but the phone is snappier now after a week of usage. Lovely device.

yeah its because of machine learning, scrolling patterns and touch input recognized by your phone, now specially with NPU, its better than the one in mate 9.

You might think so but strangely from my usage to mate 9 then mate 10 pro the Huawei phones gets smoother with time
Like in the menus and launcher and well optimized apps ect..
But of course if an app is laggy it will not speed it up.

[Q] Why is the x10 not as smooth like a stupid HTC Legend or even iPod and stuff?

My x10 is not as smooth as a HTC Legend, an older iPod, iPhone 4 and more phones,
Why is this stupid thing?
Thanks for an answer if you reply.
Mine is quite smooth.
But maybe you thing it isn't as smooth as other devices because it has a 32fps cap.

I guess you've never seen the smoothness of an iPhone 4... Can developers here on XDA remove the cap when the bootloader gets cracked?
I find it very smooth...
The stock firmware isn't, but custom roms are super smooth.. Mine never lags or freezes, and I've use all that you have mentioned above..
Same here. with 2.1 using various roms, there was a noticeable lag, especially moving from an app to the dialler. I'm now using 2.2 cm mod(6. 1.3) and the difference is pretty amazing, no discernable lag atall.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
iphones are definitely more responsive to the touch. as far as scrolling and everything.
but my x10 with the custom 2.2.1 rom, adw, and all the tweeks is smooth as fast and sometimes seems faster at opening apps and stuff than my gf's evo. so im happy as long as i have these great developers.
tho i do wish it had come like this out of the box.
Well considering the lack of true multi tasking on an iphone it makes sense that it would be smoother as it hardly has to use any of it's ram or processing cpu...
Anyhow, this thread is posted here about every two weeks, if you want an iphone go get one. I'd pick my x10 over one any day

amen to this...
i agree with the two above. had an iphone before this.
only thing i see better about it would be a majority of the apps and games.
the phone itself is much better than an iphone.
+1 for the 'il take my x10 over any iphone any day'
and also +1 for ' it didnt come out of the box as good as it can be'
but its got potential with a bit of research and some modifications... iit can do waayy more than an iphone can
and with the right mods its as smooth as it needs to be imo
well said ^^

Indeed it is, Iphone just pretends of multitasking. SE really deserve that title In X1, X2 and X10 has a Multitask Powner Title!! Compared to iphone, even a intel PIII running just Clock App would be smooth
Wow - When did we all get so good at going completely off topic!..
I had lots of problems with the stock rom being jittery and generally slow.. I didn't want to move to a custom ROM cos none of them are complete.. so I've rooted, installed JIT, and removed some of the preinstalled apps that I don't want (Timescape, and moxier mainly.) now it's fast and smooth..
What if I want to keep Timescape and Moxier? (They are one of the main reasons I'm not switching to a custom rom, other than battery life)

moxier - not a problem, you can purchase it from the market if you need it - there are other email clients anyway but if you like this particular one...
timescape - there are other social media aggregators also, tweetdeck was one that i played with once.
personally i would switch to a custom 2.1 rom and get some alternate apps running. you wont look back I say custom 2.1 rom so you get a complete rom and not a beta. i am running a 2.2 cyanogen rom and its 98% functional but i can understand why others dont like to run beta roms!
how this all relates to the OP? custom roms run so much smoother due to the lack of bloatware and not using the SE launcher. it is a resource pig and when it combines with time/mediascape running in the background at all times - the x10 drags to a halt. i switched to custom roms a while back and have not considered going back at all. closest thing i did was run KXHawkins high performance 2.1 rom for a while - it is based on the SE 2.1 rom with all the crap removed or modified.

Huawei T1 8 Pro - A way to confuse people and put my 2 cents

US..ONLY..So after an extensive research ...I bought the biggest Smartphone I can get...An 8 inch screen phone with a good battery life. For starters, here is what I found out...
Huawei has several models that are very confusing and even their customer service were not that much informative. models I have encountered are the following:
Huawei T1 8 Pro Honor - 823 L - 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage (Limited Bands for LTE but 4G speeds were fast enough for my use, got it from ebay)
Huawei T1 8 Pro Honor - 821 L - 1 GB RAM and 8 GB or 16 GB Storage options (More bands for LTE but 1 GB of RAM only)
Huawei T1 8 Pro Honor - 821 W - 1 GB RAM and 16 GB storage option (I think the W stands for WIFI...this I cannot confirm)
Huawei T1 8 Pro Mediapad - 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage from gethuawei website...out of stock as of this writing)
Huawei T1 8 Mediapad - 1 GB RAM and 16 GB Storage
This one has 4.4 for Android OS...I do not know if http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...ot-huawei-mediapad-t1-8-0-pro-lte-t1-t3262608
has found a way to upgrade to Lollipop and remove bloatwares.
personally, the hardware is decent and battery life is great. I used it for 1 day and end fo the day still had 50% of battery life. I do need to have big pants though. Is there anyone trying to develop an updated OS for this system?

Too Bad, this is a good device and the battery life is good for a phone with an 8 inch screen. It is also good for those who have problems with vision and not wanting to be bringing 2 devices for travels.
I may have to learn programming to see if I can update this...
I have the MediaPad T1 8.0 Pro and it has the best radio/modem for T-Mobile coverage. It even covers their HSPDA+ 750 MhZ band which only a few phones cover; this is the band that T-Mobile calls the "building buster" for its ability to penetrate most buildings. So yeah for all that.. I'm now waiting for an 8-inch phablet that's octo-core and features Lollipop or Marshmallow. So far I have been unable to find one..
So which one of the above did you get? 823L, 821L, or the one from Gethuawei website?...i m like you impressed with the build but needs a pure Android OS to maximize it's potential.
A have the pro8 t1-821L its rootable and bloatware can be removed this way I have also unlocked the bootloader but there is no custom recovery or ROM which is a damn shame because it's nice bit of kit a can watch movies all night long on it and still not need to charge it also am not locked to EE either so if any devs r reading this post please help this phablet out? cheers

I would have wanted the 821L also but there were no 2GB available anywhere. Only 1 GB. But even with my 823L and connecting at 4G, the speed is negligible in our area which is Central Florida. I get to watch Netflix, and Youtube also with not much lag. And I do not have to squint from a small screen. Agree, also that if anyone can build a custom ROM that's plain Android Lolllipop would be nice.
Would a T1 8 Cutom ROM work for the T1 8 Pro?

The page you linked is not good. The download links are there just to make you send money. Currently there are no custom recovery for huawei t1 8.0 neither to t1 8.0 pro without that installing custom roms are not really convenient. And also I wasn't able to find any custom rom especially on XDA, so I'm pretty sure thereare no "hints" on xda as the page says....
Huawei MediaPad T1 8.0 Pro GSM Unlocked 4G LTE US
Yes I do agree with everyone here. It is a very great device and a lot of bang for your buck plus more. The great thing about it is that you can basically make it however you want it. I manually updated mine to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Which took some time because Huawei is a very new brand and I had to get used to there EmotionUI. Which didn't take long because its Android too. Just without the app drawer. So its kind of ahead because Android N is going that direction from what I hear. Also after rooting and installing BusyBox I tried to install xPosed. But the Huawei device wouldn't take it because they already have there own framework. So I started to tinker more with it and found out that yes indeed they have framework already. That's why it reads a message error when trying to install xPosed and it says something about xPosed not being compatible. I believe it has something to do with their EmotionUI. Not sure though because that's my first Huawei experience. The device is really solid though. Resolution can be tweaked and the display looks so gorgeous then. Values for everything can be tweaked to make the OS run liquid smooth and fast with very little noticeable lag or hiccups. Also the volume values can change as well giving it a more premium sound. Camera resolution was turned up along with high quality pictures. So the pics stayed sharp looking. Also when some values are entered it gives the gaming experience so much more life through the CPU and the GPU. Rendering gets way better too. Also changing the data values gives it more LTE speed too. Along with other values that make the browser loading times instantly. Even when being on the mobile data network seems like you would be connected to WiFi. It saves a lot of data too. And the battery is amazing. I'm trying to remember what other tweaks worked perfect for it and it ran with no problems. Oh yes it can multi task with up to four things going on. I got the app where you can, watch YouTube and Google something. And watch something on eBay all in different windows at the same time. It got warm but handles it very well. You should overclock it and have the battery set on smart mode. Oh yes and change the font. I had Disney font on it and went to a more modern font look. I'll let y'all know what else I did if I can think of anymore things. Just reply I will come back to this forum. It is my most favorite device of all at the moment. And Huawei is so new too.

Any annoying software bugs? (Particularly UK users)

Hi guys and girls,
I'm looking at getting a new phone soon and my choices I've narrowed it down to, for different reasons, are these:
Google Pixel 2 XL - good battery life, great camera, pure android
OnePlus 5T - good battery life, good development scene
Huawei Mate 10 Pro - can get a good deal on it, great battery, great camera
Cons of the Mate 10 Pro all revolve around EMUI. Bugs/features I've heard about so far are these:
Non-push notifications not working
No notification drawer on lock screen
Quick reply actions etc not always working
These all seem really annoying and are things I wouldn't have a problem with on the Pixel 2. I could root, and install AOSP, but that would just have different bugs, and I'd lose the AI which is obviously a big feature of this phone, plus the camera quality would be lost.
So I'm looking for any users who have either had these issues fixed, or know workarounds, or have any other little bugs that I should know about.
Thanks

And that's the sort of thing I'm concerned about. They are a massive manufacturer and therefore you'd think that issues like this should be sorted at release. I understand that Oreo is still new and all manufacturers will have issues, but this would be my first Huawei phone and I'd like it to be in good shape! And a good experience.
Audio switches from bluetooth to loudspeaker after some time.
Call quality is very bad due to the AI chip.
Since these issues are there since release, I wouldn't recommend that you buy the Mate 10 Pro.
12 pages of bluetooth issues on German forums: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...0-pro-android-8-bluetooth-problem.853624.html
The two issues stopping me from buying this now are what I've heard that third party apps don't show notifications on the lockscreen always on display and the LED works spordically.
Pretty important that I know I have notification considering this is a communications device I would say.
Also there are reports about poor wifi and cell signal.

Note 9 Camera AI port

Hi there. Just would like to know your opinion...The Note 9 has the same camera as the S9+ with one key difference, the AI that automatically adjusts the camera to the correct scene mode(eg. taking a picture of food, automatically switches to food mode). My question is, will the S9+ perhaps get an update to have the same AI feature or will we need someone to port the camera from the Note 9?

Don't think so. AI Camera is the only difference between S9+ and N9 except SPen. So...
I hope an update will do the trick....otherwise I hope for the clever people to port the camera app
There is a discussion about this https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...iscussion-note9-ai-photography-to-s9-t3827193
But my personal opinion is that we won't get it. Note must be something more than S9+ so... The reason also that we did get android 8.1 was because they keeping it for Note.

For my taste the most stable version is 1.3.1-18_07_11_0926_15
I can't begin to express how much I love this browsers. It is fast, really really fast, like puffin fast. I don't know what you did but its too damn good. I have struggled to get a good browsers which linkoffers the perfect blend of speed adblocking and ui and kiwi provides just that. It didn't took 10 min to make me fall in love with it. The adblocking works as charm. I do have adaway for ads but the cosmetic filtering is what i wanted for ages. Really keep up the good work.

Software updates, new features are some reasons to get a new device. I have used OnePlus devices for a long time, and they haven't slowed down in any of the cases.
Oxygen have lot of off screen gestures , which r useful in daily life and battery saver. One UI is heavy

Yeah although, if you compare phones like Galaxy A52s and Oneplus Nord 2, they go neck and neck on performance.
Chk it here diff b/w two UI
Oxygen UI vs One UI
I can only comment on One UI 4.1 from S21 Ultra/S22 Ultra - both Exynos, and Oneplus Nord 2T which runs Oxygenos 12.1 I believe.
So One UI has significantly more features, no doubt. Also Samsung will provide more Android updates. However, OxygenOS on Nord 2T is WAY smoother from my experience. It's actually comparable to my Pixel 6 Pro! Both S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra have had random stuttering here and there: for example when pulling down the notification shade, or when swiping right to see Google News on the home page. It just looks ugly in my opinion, the laggy ass animation, I don't know how people think that's acceptable in mid 2022 on a flagship phone! How in the fug can a mid-ranger such as Nord 2T look so much more fluid than a FLAGSHIP which cost me almost 3 times as much??????? There are claims Samsung will work on "smoother animations" with One UI 5.0 (Android 13) and they damn well better! One UI 5 beta was delayed and I hope they use that time to polish their ****.
To make it perfectly clear: I'm not a hater of Samsung or anything, I still use my S22 Ultra as my main phone currently. I just think they crammed way too much features without focusing on user interface smoothness.
If the perfect-ish phone existed, to me it would all have the features of Samsung's One UI, with the silky smoothness of OxygenOS/Pixel UI. I guess we can't have both at this time, which is unfortunate.
So, for daily use with fluency u prefer One UI or Oxygen?
One UI is like a custom ROM, with good lock you can do stuff like crazy. Sound Assistant allows you to control the volume of every all separately, use volume keys to skip songs, create custom notification or ringtone vibration pattern, allow multiple apps to play media at the same time and many more.
