New swift 2x constant reboots after updates - Wileyfox Swift 2 Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I've searched but cannot find anyone with this set of problems...
So, brand new swift 2x, turned it on and let it download several ota updates. After the first couple the phone started randomly rebooting, I think in the middle of yet another update process....
Result (when updates stopped and device states 'up to date') is a device that continues to randomly reboot plus other strange problems (eg camera is installed, shows in apps, but is not in drawer and crashes when launched from lock screen).
I suspect something went badly wrong during the updating...but am unsure how to fix it.
Any suggestions?
Edit: should add have wiped cache/factory reset in recovery several times with no improvement
Edit2: aaaand it appears I've some how put this in the wrong section. Admins please feel free to move...and apologies!
Cheers!

Freeze and reboot!!

Ok. Problems I have encountered the 2 days I have used the phone:
Constant freeze. The first hour I used the phone it froze and rebooted 7 or 8 times.
Missing SocialLocation.apk. This caused a problem for the GPS in smart actions to work at all. Rooted phone and installed the app, and problem disappeared.
Tried to hard reset the phone because of all the rebooting problems. Guess what, on the first menu coming up where you can choose language, the phone froze and rebooted again. Now still it is constantly freezing and rebooting.
The freezing issues does not really have one specific app causing it. It can happen whenever doing whatever!
Anyone got a solution for this? Maybe a OTA update for Norwegian model?
Well, as my dad's phone is still fine as of now with not a single reboot in 2 days, I'd suggest you get in contact with your carrier and ask for a replacement. This seems to be a phone defect and you should be able to get your replacement easily. Be sure to not mention rooting and installing SocialLocation.apk though!!
You rooted and removed some files from the System, did you not?

[Help] Freeze on notification

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking for the past year or so, but now I got a problem of my own and I hope I can solve it with your help.
For a while now, almost every time, I picked up the phone, tried to check mail, or do something, and it wouldn't do anything. It seemed like it was turned off, except I couldn't turn it on by pressing the power key. It wouldn't react to touching the screen, menu button, plugging in headphones, the USB cable, pressing hardware buttons, sending myself a mail/sms, or calling myself, the alarm didn't go off (especially troublesome), it was, for all intents and purposes, completely frozen, until I removed and reinserted the battery. Then, I could normally turn it on and it seemed like everything was in order and a new message or email (in the account that triggers a notification) was waiting for me.
This started after I upgraded to ICS (official). I also rooted the phone with CF-Root. Everything was working fine, except for these freezes.
Last week, I had enough and I did a factory reset. After that, it seemed to be ok, until 2 days ago, when I flashed it with ICS 4.0.4 and rooted it again. It was fine for 2 days, today it started freezing again. I did not install any new apps - all the apps were (re)installed immediately after the flashing.
I *did* have some problems with the camera (I couldn't see what I was shooting, I found out that it's probably a wrong version of CF-root, so I reflashed that, problem persisted, I reflashed just the kernel of official 4.0.4 and the problem disappeared. This is all I did before I noticed the problem again.
I would think that it might be because of the SD card, some app or something else, but to the best of my observing, it ONLY happens, when a notification should be triggered - instead, the phone freezes.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ben
i think your RAM is on its maximum level, try cleaning your RAM once in a while.. go to your Task Manager (if you're on a stock firmware)

[Q] Xperia Sola strange symptoms.

Greetings reader. I'm new to the forum but have been viewing threads every now and then, so after having read plenty of times that people should search before posting. I have searched and didn't find what I was looking for, so that's why you can read this now ;p.
4 days ago when I was trying to browse the web in college I wasn't able to connect to the wifi network or even open the wifi settings, so I reset my phone only to find the problem persisting. As if something locked me out of the wifi settings.
I'm perfectly able to access any of the other settings, so I think it's kinda weird.
Shortly after I realised I couldn't get to the wifi anymore my phone started to reboot itself automatically. Ever since that first reboot it just keeps rebooting at the same pace over and over again until I either power it off or until the battery dies.
The phone also get's unusually hot now. Not like, super hot, but definitely hotter than any other time I can remember.
I also get error messages since the problems started saying: 'Process system is not responding'. I then get the option to either force close it or wait. Neither seem to do much if anything at all other than taking away the error message. Sounds kinda critical if you'd ask me.
But so after all these symptoms started to appear I figured I'd just do a factory reset and be done with it, but every time I go into the factory reset settings, I put in my lock screen pattern and then at the last step (pressing the Erase all data button) it just does nothing.
I can touch the button and it does give the animation that it is being pressed, but it just doesn't do anything.
The phone doesn't freeze though, I can still navigate after pressing the button only to see it reboot again shortly after.
After that I tried to flash the rom, but for some reason my PC refuses to show my phone's internal memory in my pcor any sign of my phone's connection at all.
I haven't tried it on any other pc yet, so it might just be my pc, though I doubt it is since it was perfectly able to recognize it shortly before all this started.
The device hasn't endured any shocks lately or expsure to water or whatever, so I think that's ruled out as well.
I am running the stock rom, 2.3 Gingerbread I believe, and the warranty is already way over date (I think. I'll have to check that).
Any suggestions as on how to determine what could be causing this, or how to fix it? Because I really don't want to buy a new phone xD.

Crashing Huawei Ascend G7 - Please Help!

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is a Huawei Ascend G7 issue, or if it's an Android issue. About two weeks ago, my phone began randomly restarting by itself. It would then go into somewhat of a bootloop, in that it got to my lock screen, processed a bit, and then restarted again. When I'd hold the power button, it would restart and work well...for a few hours, and then it would restart again. I started removing my most recently-installed apps and it kept happening.
Eventually, I got fed up, and restored from scratch and once I connected my Google account, all my apps loaded back up, and the same issue persisted.
I previously had the phone rooted with Kingoroot, and this issue occurred before I removed it, as I figured that may be related. When I restored, I got rid of it and it's nowhere to be seen on my phone, and I don't have root access anymore.
Questions -
a) Does anybody know what the hell could cause this behaviour?
b) I'm not a newbie with Android, but I'm not much of a techie either. I've been trying to see the logs for my phone, but I've installed a few log-viewing apps and they all seem to need root. How can I view the log files to figure out what the culprit is?
Any help you can give me would be really welcome. It's not quite a crisis right now, but it's pretty frustrating when my phone randomly reboots and there doesn't seem to be any consistency in what I'm doing to cause it...
Thank you!!
Steve

Random Freezing and weird Vietnamese settings page

Hi,
I replaced my cracked screen around 6 months ago. The new screen is an FTS-TS type. Everything was smooth and fine until about 6 weeks ago when the phone started randomly freezing. During a freeze, If I press the power button off and on again (not rebooting) it's OK until the next freeze. It does this very many times a day, some days are worse than others. One consistent thing - it will ALWAYS freeze on the lock screen following a reboot, even following a factory reset or using safe-mode.
Recently I noticed that a page of Vietnamese language settings appears when coming from an idle lock screen state to the home screen. It now does this a few times a day. Since my phone is set to English, this is very odd. Even if it was in English, it's very odd a random page of settings opening itself in such a way. I have hardly any of my own apps installed since I've done several resets so there is no app that I could blame for this odd behaviour.
In desperation I wanted to try a custom rom. However, I could not even install another ROM via TWRP since when I got to the TWRP lock screen (after unlocking the bootloader and installing the TWRP image) I could not swipe to unlock it, and power on and off was having no effect! This means I am stuck with the stock rom (MIUI Global 11.0.8 stable) and can't try anything else.
I did try another bootloader and that also froze
At this stage I am assuming the fault is a software issue rather than an hardware issue.
Xiaomi UK have washed their hands of this issue, I don't expect any help from them anyway as it's out of warranty now. They keep repeating themselves by suggesting factory resets, even though I'm blue in the face telling them that that is not resolving the issue.
Any help with this frustrating issue would be very welcome !
