Fried Amazfit Pace - Amazfit

Hi guys
I think I might have fried my Pace. As I can read in the many threads on the forum a lot of you have seen problems with the Pace not turning on after recharge. On a visit to my family I needed to recharge my watch and I used the cradle with a wall plug power supply. Upon charging I did notice the screen was flickering a bit, but I had to leave the house. When I got back a littel later, the screen was black and the watch would not turn on. I havent been able to turn it on since. Using the USB the pc does not register anny devices nor does ADB or fastboot.
Is the watch dead? or is there something to do?

Did you try cleaning charging pins with a toothbrush or a toothpick? I had the same problem as you and I solve it with this method.
Hope it works to you, regards.

Thanks arceoxis
After reading all the threads on the subject it was the first thing I did, but unfortunately unsuccesfull.

[Q] Weird Charging Issue

Hello,
I have Galaxy S2 and having some charging issue. Yesterday, when I plugged it in the wall charger, it didn't get charged (i.e. even the flash on battery was not coming up) and when I tried to restart the phone, it powered off but didn't switch on. I tried holding the power button to turn it on but it didn't. So, I pulled out the battery and left the cell for some time like 20 mins or so. After re-inserting the battery, it turned on but still was not getting charged. I tried to change the USB cable as well but nothing helped. I then tried to charge it via my Laptop it actually started the charging process but with error on Laptop saying "USB Device not recognized".
Today, I tried the wall charger again and here's I found something: when my phone is ON and I plug it in the wall charger it doesn't charge but as soon as I turn the phone OFF, my phone starts getting charged (Battery image comes on screen which usually comes when the phone is off). So, that's how I am charging my phone.
I went to the repair shop today, he said it's a charging port issue on which I have some doubts that why it is even charging in this way if it's a port issue. I just want to make sure if whatever he's saying can be somewhat true.
Can you please help me out? I would be really thankful to you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thank you!
PS: I tried to search about the port issues but I couldn't find anyone having this kind of issue so please!
The issues you have mentioned really do all point to a faulty USB board......it is common (with a faulty board) for some functionality to work while other functionality is lost. The part itself costs pocket change and is reasonably easy to DIY replace......
If you want to go down that path, check my profile for threads I've started.....you'll find a guide explaining exactly how to do it.
Just make sure to read and note the section on 'rev versions' it is VERY important to get the correct one......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right

Amazfit broken???

Hi all,
I'm quite worried. Two days ago my amazfit suddenly switched off. I had more than 50% battery.
Since then I can't swhitch on, even holding the button. If I plug it, nothing on the screen. It just get hot. If i connect it to the pc it seems usb can reconigse sth has been connected, but it can recognize it...
I tried to clean the connections but nothing works.
Any idea? I'm now on Pacefied 1.2.14.
Many thanks in advance,
Same here
This morning (31st May 2017), my Amazfit was also suddenly switched off, and at the time i had around 50% battery, tho. I can't switch on my amazfit anymore, by push and hold the power button or even charge it by using its docking.
I found ur thread here and see no one reply urs. Well, if u have already the solution, please let me know, yes.
Thanks in advance.
i am Ancha, and i am in Jakarta, Indonesia, btw.

Can't turn amazfit on after ran out of battery.

The watch cannot turn on anymore after i forgot to charge it over night.
I try to clean a contact and tried to connect to computer or charger. No any responding on watch.

You should put the watches on your charger for 1 day...

Thx, i will try to night and let see it after 24 hours charging ..:good::fingers-crossed:
For now, it still dead. Can't turn it on but the screen pretty warm.
I think I had that happened after my five days of use. It didn't turn on even on the charger for few hours. What I did was holding the power button for three or four seconds, and let the watch turn on the boot screen, and then right away put it to the charger. Then you should see the battery charging status image on the watch.

Try plug your charger directly to a power USB switch. and clean the pins on the charger and on the watch.

Oh, really. be care ful bro, i so concern your watch will dead as my watch.
My battery is completely 0%. My watch is not turned on even on the charger. I pressed the watch down to the charger and made sure it was touching the pins, and then I pressed the power button the watch (while it is on the charger) for 2 or 3 second; the watch is turned on with battery charging status image. Hope that helps. BTW I use a StartTech USB switch for charging my phone and watches. The switch is not plugging to a PC or laptop; it is only for charging my devices.
After I "fried" some bluetooth headsets with wallchargers ( probably powersurge or similar )
I never ever use them for "small" devices like headphones or the watch.
I always charge with a powerbank.
Since then I didn't have any problems
Try to twist the charging ring
After I twist the charging ring couterclockwise/clockwise, the power was increase. So you should try twist the ring until it got the right position and precise contact. Hope this solution helps yours.
I had this exact same problem with my watch after about 8 days, i had charged it multiple times before but one morning i noticed my watch completely off and thought the battery must of drained completely. I went to plug it in and nothing happened it wont charge (even leaving it on the charger for 24+ hours) . Ive tried everything and it just wont turn on or charge.
OP im afriad yours sounds like same issue, i raised a dispute on Aliexpress and got a complete refund. I have just recieved another one so im hoping i dont have the same issue again.
I still have the old broken one so was tempted to pull it apart and see if i can see anything but tbh i wouldnt know where to start so have not bothered.
Try washing charger and watch contact point

Hey folks, facing the same issue for my amazfit gts 2 watch. The watch is switched off and charging icon doesn't display on screen. I have been charging it since last 15 hours but nothing is happened. Please help me out on this issue.
have some issue with my amazfit gtr 47. have tried all, but still not charging

Amazfit Stratos not charging anymore

I have been using Amazfit Stratos for almost two months without any problems, until today. I put it in the cradle trying to recharge it, but the charging screen didn't show up. I went and connected it to the PC, Windows 10 shows no sign of any device connected to the USB port. So, I started eliminating causes one by one and what I tried so far is:
- cleaned up contacts on both cradle and the watch (wooden toothpick with insignificant amount of isopropyl alcohol), nothing chaged
- checked the voltage on the cradle contacts, there is cca. 5V between the first and fourth contact, so it's not the cradle
- tried three different power adapters, plus a powerbank
- reboot or power off did not help either
- 5V directly on the watch contacts (#1 and #4) with an old USB cable, still nothing
- adb devices => no device listed
- in despair, I unpaired the watch, no charging/USB detection yet, paired it again, no change
Anyone else with the same issue? Anything else I can try?
BTW, I found some Youtube teardown videos, where folks are showing that the contacts inside the watch (between the surface contacts found on the plastic cover and the PCB inside) can corrode, but to fix that you must open the watch (it was for Pace actually, but I suppose it's all the same for Stratos). To do that, you need to apply force and probably say goodbye to water resistance, and many other things can go wrong, so I see that only as a last resort.
As you already tested the charger and it's OK (5VDC reading between first and last pin), then if you press and hold the top button for about 10s to make sure it is off and you leave it charging for 30min and you don't see the battery icon when you press the buttons then it's a hardware issue and you should ask for a replacement.
Thanks for the suggestion @lfom, I will try that and get back with the results. Is there any explanation behind this procedure you're proposing? Could this possibly be a software issue?

The only thing that is needed to display the battery icon is the bootloader (U-boot) which is hardly affected by anything else. If you are sure the watch is off by pressing and hold the button for more than 10s and it won't display anything while charging, then it has an internal (hardware) damage.
Power off Stratos prior to charging
There's a software bug I reckon. I am having same issue. Workaround is to power off the watch each time prior to charging from cradle.
in my case the charging screen appears but charging is very slow 1% per 30 minutes, do u have any idea what it is?
tried everything but it isn't charging.

in my case shows the battery level as if its charging but doesn't charge at all. tried charging through pc but it keeps debugging out
the same problem I have too. I did all the things but in vain
I'm waiting for the solution if some one can help us please....................
@azhar63 There is no "miracle fix", only workarounds: try to turn off watch before putting to charge, some people reported it help. If even then you cannot charge your watch even with a known working charger, you must open it to fix the internal charging contacts.
@lfom
for mine it now doesn't show battery single as if its dead.
it this issue because of the contact of battery ports?
is there any video to open up and fix it??
waiting for solution please
OK

actually the device is already powered off. Some time when I try to charge on PC or with charger is shows 0% charging and after few minutes or seconds it disappears. I have two original charging dock & I checked voltage too, but I think the problem is inside of device. Anyhow I'm sure I'll get help soon.

If you get the 0% and then it dies, then maybe the power source you are using cannot provide the current needed, or the cable/cradle has problems (too much resistance), even if you can read 5V without the watch connected.

Press and hold te top (red) button for around 10s to make sure watch is off and then put to charge, then briefly press the same button after 30-45min. If you don't see the battery percentage on screen, probably it is dead or has a bad connection internally. I think the procedure to open it is the same as PaceL heat to soft glue then open it. You can look for FCC pics of it opened, it may help, I don't remember seeing any videos opening Stratos, only Pace.
I have the same issue
I have tried with different craddles and power adapters, with the watch powered on and off; on all the cases, no battery icon shows on the screen.
I think is a hardware problem with the pins of the watch.
Can anyone give the instructions to unmount and reseal it again after that?
Thanks

It seems problem is with the charging pin inside watch.
so need to unmount the watch. waiting for any suggestion how to unmount the watch and remount again.
This may help: I didn't translate it, so I am not sure if it has the instructions, but the photos may help somehow.

@lfom have u tried to unmount as shown in pic. you can translate through google translate.
is it working for u now once the pins are raised up???

Can't recharge Amazfit Pace after update

My battery was about 5% and I tried to recharge it. I put the watch on the recharger but nothing happened. No indication it's charging. Something more - the battery dropped to 2% within a minute. I tried with another USB cable but there's no change.
I updated the watch a week ago to the last available version.
Can you help me, please!
I tried to restart it, but unfortunately while it was starting again, the battery drained and the watch turned off.
This is what happens when it's plugged in the charger and I try to turn it on: the screen lights up and then turns off.

Check that it's the watch who not working anymore. charging-amazfit-pace-cradle-dock-t3728206
Most probably it's not related to the update... Does the computer recognizes the watch when it's connected to one of its USB ports?
Keep it connected to the computer after making sure the metallic pins are clean and the USB cable is good, then press and hold the button for about 10s. After you release it, the watch should be off and you should see only the battery charging indicator when you press the button briefly again. Leave it this way for 30-45 min and try to press the button briefly to see if it has charged, sometimes when battery goes to zero it takes some time to get charge again (it's bad for the battery when it dies completely by the way). If it doesn't respond, probably it's dead, maybe water damage?
Problem solved. I left the watch connected to the cable with no visible sign of charging. After an hour maybe I pressed the button again and this time it turned on succesfully!
I don't know why it happened but I'm happy it works again.
Thanks for the answers!
I observe a recurring problem with charging. Last few attempts I must plug and unplug the watch to the charger more than 10 times until it starts to charge. I tried turning the watch off and on, but it doesn't help. It's so annoying. Anyone else with the problem?
