google dialer doesn't show call history on mido - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

hello!
I am on xiaomi.eu weekly Miui 9 (7.12.28)and want to use the google dialer instead of the xiaomi dialer. I installed it from play store, works perfect ... but, call history doesn`t show up? I tried other alternative dielaers from the play store, alle of them show the call history without any issues, but the goole dialer doesn't? i alo tried older version of google dielaer - no sucess, I gave all the rights the apps asks for, but it doesn't work. i had exactly the same with my former Redmi 4 (without Note). Can anybody help? Greetings and thank you! Jensen

Have you set your google account in the dialer?

U need to set google dialer as a default phone dialer app in setting

I have the same issue. I tried with the stable version of miui 9, but it's the same. The dialer is set as default, but this doesn't help.

Maybe xiaomi does not want you to do that.

It's just the Google dialer, other dialers show the call history ...

Check in settings>apps>Google dialer whether permission for reading call log is granted... If not then grant permission and restart the app.

Just try Lineage OS, and you will like it. No more xiaomi services, and other bloatware.
I long ago switched to the Lineage OS (Nougat) and I'm happy.

WileyFox Swift 2 X - Google Phone Dialler (com.google.android.dialer) incompatible

Hi,
I have recently bought a Swift 2 X and am starting to think it may have been a mistake. I would really like to remove the pre-installed TrueCaller dialler and replace with the standard Google Phone from Play Store.
After contacting WileyFox support they told me:
I'm afraid that you cannot delete Truecaller from your device, however you can disable it which stops it from being able to access anything on your device.
Before you do this however, I would recommend to download another dialler from the Play Store. As soon as you have done this, you can safely disable Truecaller.
To disable TrueCaller please go to Settings > App and then scroll down to TrueCaller tap on it and then tap on disable.

When accessing the Play Store from my device the Google Phone app isn't visible (due to it being incompatible) and for confirmation of this when I view the app on the Play Store from my PC there is a message telling me "This app is incompatible with your device".
I am running Android 7.1.2 Build TOS249H-N2G48B. Can anyone tell me why the app isn't compatible or if there is a way I can get it to work please?
I installed it from apk mirror (there's a 'nonnexus' version from 5 december 2016 that works fine, other versions don't work).
Might I add that this is the one fix this phone really needs? Your purchase wasn't a mistake, the phone is quite good (value/money wise & software support wise), they just made the mistake of bundling this dialer...
EDIT - if you don't want to sideload, you can always try zero dialer or exdialer (both of which get somewhat favourable reviews online)
Great! Thanks very much for your advice - I'll give those options a try.
Set as default dialer
I figured it how to make the Google dialer work properly. You've got to go into the apps section of settings then click on the cog at the top of the screen.
Near the bottom of the screen you'll see phone app, click on that and choose Phone. Hey presto, it works!

This is on one of my WileyFox Swift 1, the other is still on 6.0.1
Thank you very much for zero dialer (Play Store), I have been struggling with the default basic Truecaller ever since I downgraded (YES, not a typo) from 6.0.1 to 7.x.x
The lack of call blocking drove me to trying to solve the problem again.

Thanks for confirming. Would you care to do a very short review of the Zero dialer? maybe some screenshots, what works well, ...?
Even if you don't, it's good to know that there is another viable option than the nonnexus which I've been using.

No, that's just the menu we want to access but can't
So I guess I have to revoke the microphone authorization for the Google app to get rid of Google assistant for now.

This one.
I access the settings by pressing Home Button and then by clicking on the blue icon on the top right side
@B1naryBlaz3 I fixed it with my P20 by disabling and uninstalling Google Play Services via "System Settings -Apps -> Google Play Services -> Deactivate" and then afterwards installing the Google Play Services update again when prompted. This actually fixed a lot of issues I had

Works until I restart the phone again, I also factory reset 4 times yesterday to try and isolate the issue, its definitely something thats part of the default install, everything is fine until it updates the stock stuff and then you restart.

Well it's the same as mine. The problem may be the Google Play Services as @2001db8 pointed out. You have all the permissions granted to Assistant?

Did you get the handset from cell c ? Trying to figure out how the various operators decide which version they sell, got mine from Telkom if I knew the other version had more internals I would have opted for that, this is what I get for not doing my homework.

I have no issue whatsoever, I use the Google assistant on a daily basis ( Yeah I'm that lazy lol) and the Google authentication app is working just fine (I have setup my two way authentication code for my various emails accounts and other stuff) i'm pretty happy with this p20 lite and I wasn't expecting to have such a good experience in the first place.

GooglePlayservices was restricted from using WLAN / mobile network, reappear on COL-A

GooglePlayservices was restricted to use network, even though the permission had been allowed before.
It often appear whenever network state changes from mobile to wlan vice versa.
My device's Honor 10 COL-AL10.
I have set the permission of Google applications anything related to use the service, to allow.
But it seems EMUI 8.1 reset the permission in such way the service would unable to connect.
Could it be the firmware which is specifically for China Region that block Google Play Service?
Does anyone have the same problem?
Sent from my COL-AL10 using Tapatalk
Reset to factory your phone, and install these gapps, one by one. SKIP GMS-ONLY INSTALL GMS IF YOU ENCOUNTER GMS ERROR.

Reset to factory is not helpful.

OK Google Not Working on 10.2.22.0 (PFAEUXM)

Hi Guys,
Most recently upgraded to the above 10.2.22.0 (PFAEUXM) on my Xiaomi Mi 9 but now 'OK Google' voice command fails to work.
I have even tried to reinstall the Google App, Google TTS and give the phone a reboot. The options are greyed out within the settings part of the application and my location is set to United Kingdom
Anyone on the 10.2.22.0 (PFAEUXM) can you please confirm if OK Google still works within the Google Application
@admin please move this to general discussion

Maybe just need to do a factory reset ?

Question Google assistant as default assistant

Seems like Mi Ai won't let google assistant be the default assistant. Google works fine until you close the app from running in the background. Then it automatically sets Mi Ai as default again.
Have to follow the prompts to get google working each time. Even turning off and setting to none doesn't revert back to Mi Ai.
Quite annoying.
Any ideas? Mi Ai does not support English.
It's the only Google app you can't make default on this tablet.
Nevermind all fixed. Google assistant works as default now. Mi Ai is gone.
It was a certain permission that wasn't set. Get device info was the culprit. Some security in place to send nothing back to google.
Many languages to choose from now. Not stuck on Chinese voice only.
Is it possible to use the ok Google command, while not in the app?

No. It says in settings that it's not available on my device. I can't toggle it on in the menu.
Yes same here. Maybe a fix will come later...
