No Computer Connection, no 'Allow connection in HDB mode' pop-up - Honor 5X Questions & Answers

I'm trying to put music on my phone, so I got HiSuite set up and everything and tried to connect. At first, it didn't connect at all, so I did some research to find a fix.
I've set the settings to allow HDB HiSuite connection, and I've turned on USB Debugging in developer mode as well. (I've tried with and without USB Debugging on) It's also set by default to MTP connections, and yes when the notification pops up it says charging only, but I switched it to Media.
On the computer, it shows up as connected and I get a pop up saying 'connect to device-please authorize your computer to manage your device.' In order to continue, I have to click ok on a pop up on my phone that says 'Allow connection in HDB mode'.
But I'm not getting that pop-up so I am stuck on this step.
I've tried switching out cables but that doesn't work. I was using the cable that came with the phone originally anyway. If it's the port I'm screwed, because it's the only port that still works on this computer.
Any ideas of something else that could be causing the problem? I appreciate any help you could give.

Tethering issues please help.

Ok so heres my dilemma. I figured I would test out tethering and see what my speeds are. So I connected my TP to my computer and selected the "Tethering" option when it showed up on my phone and thought, ok this should be easy. It connected to my computer, so i disabled my current wireless connection thinking my phones connection would automatically take over. But i was wrong, as a matter of fact nothing happened. When i checked my network settings, it told me i was connected with limited or no internet. Huh? Really? did i do something wrong? When you select tethering from the popup screen does it automatically run the Internet Sharing app?
So now i tried unplugging and replugging my phone back in and now that little popup screen doesnt even show up. Activesync doesnt connect, but i figured you couldnt run activesync and tethering at the same time. But now even worse is when i go to the Internet Sharing app and hit connect, it doesnt connect, it just says "Check usb Cable". As im doing all of this i have network connections up on my computer, watching to see if anything changes. So here i am in the internet sharing app and i hit connect, it says check usb cable, so i hit disconnect and right when i hit disconnect, it shows that im connected on my pc. ????? But even still when i try to surf the web it doesnt work. IDK what i/i'm did/doing wrong.
I like the popup screen when i connect my device to pc and would like to get that back if possible. Can someone please shed some light on 1.How to Tether 2. How to get the popup screen back (even though in all settings->connections->usb to pc->"ask about connection type when i connect" IS checked)
Tried a soft reset to see if that would change anything, but nothing changed.
Unplug your connections to your computer.
don't disable them.
If it is wireless, turn it off, don't disable.
I cannot share my connection while plugged into the network.

Lets break this down a little bit. First of all who is your carrier? Also, do you have the tethering option on your plan? (not that its completely necessary)
From there we can figure out the next step.
tethering
what about PDANET? I used it on my 6700.

Here you go. Install both cabs, reset the device, and go into Programs and start ICSShrUi. You'll be able to tether no problem. Ive been doing so I received my Verizon TP on Tuesday.

Enable USB tethering on Mac OS X?

I was wondering how I enable USB tethering on my Mac? I followed the settings on the link below, however I installed VMWare Fusion so I could root my phone, and when I plug it in with the USB cable there I do not get a window that pops up saying a new network is found. Therefore, when I go to System Preferences>Network, I am selecting the "Built-in Serial Port" to add a new interface. Does anyone know how to do it?

Also, I have USB debugging enabled and I have tried with and without USB tethering enabled...
I don't have an apple, but I am pretty sure the process should be the same from the phone side. You should have USB debugging on, then after you plug the phone into the computer you need to go to settings>wireless & network>tethering & portable hotspot>USB tethering and make sure the box is checked. After I check that box, the new network device shows up on my computer, so it should be the same on a mac.
However, I'm not sure the rest of that guide will work for our phone. The APN this phone uses is completely different.
I do all of that on my phone, but when I enable USB tethering I do not see the network interface, so I add a new network and I entered these settings but when I try to connect it will not:

Eh, nevermind. Read the original post incorrectly.
MACs are technically running Linux now in days
and I know by a fact our phone works perfectly for USB tethering without any special settings
on my Linux laptop, i just plug in my phone to the normal USB cable,
go to the phone settings to enable USB tethering, and Ta ta... a new network connection automatically becomes available on the network menu
and if select to use the new "network card" or "network interface" then my internet uses the phone as the new wireless network, and no, it's not the same as a WiFi, it sees it as another Ethernet device
my computer doesnt show the phone in the network settings. what can i do to get it to show up?

Technically yes but practically I've never got native USB tether working on a Mac except with HTC sense ROMs. So far I've been using an app called easytether.

[Q] Tethering issues

I searched for 20 mins but couldn't find a discussion that pertained to my specific issue.
I try to set up USB tethering. Under "tethering & portable hotspot" I check the USB tether box. A message in the center of the screan says "USB connected as tether" or something to that effect, yet the checkbox gets greyed and the text underneath says "USB not connected". Standard USB note in notification bar. A network device is detected by Windows 7 but it doesn't gives me internet access in practice.
I pull out the USB connector and after a minute the screen goes blank and I have to take out the battery....
Next I try to activate Wifi hotspot. I check the box for it and the screen goes blank almost immediately....
I've gone through this maybe five times by now and I'm not sure what to do. Moto USB drivers are installed.
make sure that USB mode is set to "Charge only" cause tethering doesn't work in "Storage mode"

Already did.
No one has a solution? Could it be a hardware issue?

[Q] How to show again the USB connection mode showing on notification area? [KitKat]

After successfully rooted my device and have xposed framework and modules like gravitybox[KK], i observed that when i try to connect my phone again to any pc using my USB connector, it seems that the "USB connection mode" (where you be able to switch to another usb connection mode, for example, mtp to charging, charging to mtp) are not showing up on my notification area. I regret my self because the last time the "usb connection mode" are still working, i choose the charge only. And when i try to connect again, i can't switch anymore. I also try to add some code related to usb connection in my build.prop but it didn't help. Any solution to this problem? Anyone out there have strong solution pls share. Thanks.

Marshmallow USB connection issue. Help required

I recently updated my phone (Huawei G7) to android marshmallow 6.0.1. Everything was fine at first but after a few days, I realised I can't connect my USB stick (micro USB flash drive) to my phone. After that, I connected my phone to my PC and I got nothing!
My phone doesn't charge when connected to my PC and my PC doesn't show anything when I connect the USB cable. Huawei software also says no device connected. I tried different cables and the result is the same. I factory reset my phone, now it charges but still nothing shows up ion my computer or phone.
I enabled USB debugging. I used to get a message prompt on the phone to allow connection to my PC. But now there is no such message and there is no USB debugging notification in the notification bar.
I changed USB connection mode to Charging Only, file transport and photo transport. But it doesn't make any difference. It's as if my phone is not connected.
I feel like android is blocking the use of the phones USB port except for charging.
Does anyone have any idea?
Does your PC makes any sound on connecting your phone to it?
