I hope there is someone here, who can help me with my issue. I lost my hope after trying almost everything found in the internet.
So here is the problem: I was using my phone as a navigation in my car. The battery was low, so I used the car charger and kept it plugged, while driving. I observed, that even though I was charging my phone via car charger, the battery continued to get low and finally the phone turned off. After reaching home, I plugged my phone with an original quick charger from Xiaomi. Unfortunately I was not able to charge my phone and it got stuck in a bootloop, with a phone showing Mi Logo, vibrating and switching off repeatedly.
When I connect the phone with the laptop, it is shortly recognized (when it is booting) and then disconnected and again and again. I can go to fastboot mode but I cannot flash my phone using MiFlash, because I get an error: Failed. Low battery.
Does anyone know the solution? I would really appreciate any help.

Are you on miui or a custom rom?
I think I know what problem you are facing, your device's battery is actually drained of all the power, like it empty. So drained that it doesn't even have the energy to turn on the phone to get power. I had a lenovo a560 last year, and it had the same problem, so what i had to do was either leave it for charging and pray that it begins charging (and sometimes after 3 or 4 hours the battery started charging as normal when it got 1% battery), or the second method was that i took the removable battery out and charged it externally using wires. The second method worked since the battery got enough power, to keep the phone on during charging.
Now the problem is that redmi note 4 doesn't have a removable battery, so either you can leave the phone for charging, and actually forget about it for a day, or the only other thing is that you have to visit a service center.
Not joking about the charging process but that is the only thing you can do.

But wait, if the phone is able to stay in fastboot mode, why not charge it there? Like just open fastboot mode, and connect the charger. It will atleast charge some percent.

Hi, i thought about it before, but the phone was staying in fastboot mode for a very short time, to short to charge any resonable amount of power, and kept rebooting quickly. I left the phone for two days without trying to fix it and I tried just now to go into fastboot and try to charge. It stays now for quite a time in fastboot so I will keep my fingers crossed that I will be able to charge. I will update here if it was a success or not. Meanwhile, thank you for all your ideas! Lets see what happens...

Unfortunately, no good results. I kept my phone in fastboot mode multiple times, but I was not able to charge my phone. Turning off fastboot is only causing phone to stuck in bootloop.
I also had an impression, that the phone was not warm at the back, where the battery is. Now I am starting to think that the battery is completely dead and I have to change it. But how is it even possible, that after 8 MONTHS the battery is completely f***ed up?
Can I somehow check the state of the battery? I would like to be sure, that there is no way to bring the battery back to life and I really have to go somewhere to change it. I am really reluctant to have a battery from some unknown company. :crying:

Are you rooted?
This is really a kernel fault man, I had the same issues with mediatek Chipsets before, but you are saying in "8 months", so that means you are well covered in warranty. You can send an e-mail to Xiaomi customer care or visit a service centre with the phone bill. I am pretty sure a faulty battery or such happening can be covered using warranty, plus I would suggest NOT to get the battery changed from a 3rd party store.

Sorry, I actually don't know much about the phones, so I don't know what 'rooted' means. I never did anything with my phone, software or whatever more than required.
With the warranty there is a different problem in my case: I bought my phone in China when I was there for my business trip and I live in Europe (yeah I know, my own fault, I should have bought it at home). I have bill and everything but I guess it will not help. Besides, Xiaomi gives 6 months warranty for battery (in case this is really the battery).

Knowing that you are not rooted is a positive thing when regarding the warranty, ok so here is the thing which you should do. But first of all please stop the battery charging process, since this can now be harmful and can damage the components. Ok so here's what you should do -

Send an email to that address regarding the battery problem. And provide the details including about the drainage of battery, and the methods which you tried. Plus attach the bill also. It doesn't really matter where you bought it, because the bill serves as to give them information that the device you own is actually bought by you, and it contains details about device like IMEI etc. If they respond and say that you can send your device to them, (in this case they will give you an address) you should do that. If they say they cannot help it, then consider getting a repair from a local shop.
I just checked my phone's inside and found out that you cannot externally charge the battery, so this means you need a repair, unfortunately.
Before ending this reply I just wanna clear the fact that,
The battery isn't damaged, it just isn't able to get power,(here it is because of the device) this means that if somehow some energy can be provided to the battery, the battery need not be replaced.

I am still waiting for the response from Global Service. If nothing happens, I will go to local 'mi center', where I know they can repair xiaomi phones, but not on warranty.
Apart from that, phone is still dead, but I have not tried yet anything else. I found this: https://xiaomifirmware.com/guides-and-tips/fix-bootloop-redmi-note-4-mtk/
But I am not sure, if this should work. Anyone have tried?

That post shows you how to enter deep flash mode. You can give it a try. If that works, Voila, If it does't better go the service center.
So I got the response from service (it took them ages). Maybe it will help someone:
With respect to your concern, I would request you to please follow some troubleshooting steps in order to resolve your issue:
Try to charge your device with another compatible charger for at least 30 minutes
Long press power button for 10-15 seconds and check whether the device is responding or not
If the issue persists please follow the below mentioned steps:
Note: The below mentioned procedure deletes the data you have on your phone.
Sign Out from your Mi Account :-
Go to the settings
Select Mi Account
Confirm to Sign out
Create a backup : -
Go to the settings
Go to the additional settings
Go to the backup and reset
Go to the local backup
Go to the backup
Select system and apps
Then, select backup so that a backup would be created
After creating the backup, you can find your backup file through the below mentioned steps:
Go to the "explorer"
Select "storage" option
Then, "MIUI"
You will get a "backup" option
Select "all backup"
In this folder, you will be able to see your "backup file"
(Note :- Please save the backup file on your PC/Laptop so that your important data would be prevented)
Factory data reset :-
Go to the settings
Go to the additional settings
Go to the backup and reset
Tap on factory data reset
In order to restore your backup file, please follow the below mentioned steps:

I didn't work at the beginning, so I left my phone and actually wanted to wait till I go back home to my country for the weekend and visit Xiaomi service, but FINALLY IT WORKED!!! I cannot explained what was the reason that this time it clicked. My phone was completely drained, left for long time without touching. As a result I have a battery icon now and it is charging, no bootloop anymore. Hope this method would help someone. Be patient and try multiple times!
So it is not software problem causing the bootloop
So it is not a software, but only hardware - the battery - as the only problem in this case. I am facing a very similar case with my Redmi Note 4x Mediatek (4/64 Memory) just starting Friday morning (9Feb). I thought it was charging overnight, but in the morning found the power totally drained, and stucked not be able to recharge for hours. This phone is still under warranty (9month use) but ridiculously the Official Service Agent said they need up to 40days to fix this phone. This is worst experience comparing to other phones I ever had.

hi my htc amaze 4g tmobil wont boot unless connected to usb (charging). my phone was rooted using Hasson tool. everything was working fine. i left bootloader unlocked.
here is what happen. my phone took a dive into a soup . i left it for a few days , then i try to turn it on. it looked as if it was on a boot loop. after reading on the internet they advice forfactory reset. after playing with my phone for a few days this is want happends
at the beginning it was on boot loop .then i connected to computer and when i reboot it it reboot back to boot loader.
i locked boot loader and my phone was able to boot normally, it works im able to make and receive calls. but when i remove it from charging it shuts down. if phone is not connected to usb (charging) it stays in boot loop. i already try 2 different batteries. and batteries take charge. i was looking on the forums for similar problems and i found this is a different phone but problems is the same, i dont really understand the solution but i hope will help some1 give some advice .

maybe your battery can no longer hold a charge, if you droped it into soup, maybe it got partly shorted out ?

thanks alot for your reply, but i said i try with 2 different batteries. and i know the batteries are taking charge because i saw the battery setting and it increases. and even at 100% the phone still shut downs if not connected to power. but when the phone is on Disk Drive mode it wont shut down. i wonder why i wont take power from battery.
update. my phone seen to be working better. now it works without been connected to power but it still shut downs. help really needed please.

He didn't mean the battery got shorted out, he meant that the PHONE may have shorted out. I think you need to send it in to HTC for repair. It most likely needs a new motherboard. It's really hard on electronics when they get immersed in liquid.

Hi all
My phone was shutting off instantly without any reason for couple of days and then I would turn it on. My battery was also acting weird. Sometimes when I turn it on it was showing 30% battery while before it was at 70%. Today, it turned off and wouldn't turn on. I tried Vol Up/Down+HOME+Power button and Home+Power button but it wouldn't turn on or go into recovery/download mode. When I put it on charge, charge symbol shows for a second and then it would turn off and then again on and off and continues forever.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Either your battery is not accepting charge or is not getting any charge.
If you know someone else with an S2, ask to borrow their battery to find out whether your phone will boot.
I've a suspicion that you're going to have to replace either the battery or the USB charger port.....or maybe even both.
But the first thing to find out is if the phone boots with a 'known good' battery.
my wife says I'm a phone geek....

Thanks a lot buddy for your reply.
An hour ago I put the phone on charge for about 15 minutes and the battery charging symbol stabilized. Then I pressed Power button and phone booted and was working fine. Then just to check, I shut off and it won't start again and came back to the same old problem. I would definitely battery from same phone and will let you know about the updates.

Its a very weird problem. I have put the battery of my brother's SGS2 in my phone and the problem is same. Then when I put my battery in my brother's mobile then that mobile shows the same problem. After switching batteries many time, my brother's SGS2 with its own battery would show the same problem. In other words that mobile was dead also. Then I plugged out the battery from the other mobile and left it out for some time and plugged in again and mobile was ok.
After that I didn't risk to switch batteries again. I have the feeling that problem is not at hardware end. For some reasons my mobile's software is corrupting batteries. I remember to have re-calibrated the battery couple of days ago with software named "battery recalibrate". I am lost at what the problem might be and what to do anymore.
Pls help.
Flash firmware with Odin that will rule out software problems. Flash say lsw and see if its the same.

Just for the record. I discovered the solution to be ridiculously simple. Battery pins connection was loose and by just putting a foiled tissue paper at below corner of battery to strengthen connection of pins, all was back to normal. Ahh! it was such a relief.

Before I started this process, I was able to turn the phone on, hear the startup sounds, and charge it, no problem.
Yesterday I changed my cracked LCD (and digitizer) with one of these witrigs .com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-sony-xperia-z2 (I'm not allowed to post links)
Followed the instructions provided by witrigs.
However, after having put it together again, when I try to turn it on all I get is 3 red blinks. (This would indicate low / empty battery, right?)
So I connected it to the charger (tried both wallsocket, and USB from two different computer, and different cables.) and all it gives me is a red light.
Normally, this would mean that it's charging, as far as I know, but it stays like that for hours, without any changes. So I was puzzled by this, googled to no avail.
I can not get it in flashmode, nor fastboot mode. However, here is the interesting part. When I disconnect the battery from the back and connect the phone to a charger (or USB from PC) the screen lights up, and shows me the charging animation.
In addition to this, when the battery is disconnected, I can get it into fastboot (Blue led, if I've read correct, I can not get into this with the battery connected.)
With this information, and my lack of real knowledge about how this technology works, I assumed the battery was broken, so to test that a bit further, I checked it with a multimeter.
It's currently showing 4.2v. I don't have another battery I can try with as of now, nor do I have other readings from other batteries. Maybe some of you do.
Anyway, have any of you encountered anything like this before? and or have any suggestions as to what I can / should test or try next? - I'm running out of ideas. (I will buy a new battery when I have money, but it probably will not be here in 5-8 weeks, due to when I get money and shippingtime.)

Always dreamed of this phone model, bought a cheap one with broken glass, it was working fine, I tried with a controller and was working.
Bought a high quality screen replacement that wasn't so cheap (quality seems pretty good actually).
Opened the phone using a hair dryer, it was easier than I thought and actually easier than any phone I ever opened.
Changed screen, and SAME PROBLEM AS YOU, 3 red lights, no boot. I also tried everything you tried, it shows up the battery charging icon without the battery.
ps: There got to be something pretty wrong with this, PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.

I also am in the exact same situation. I was very carefull when I changed the display and I took my time for it (two hours!)
I used a hairdryer to make the glue soft. Maybe this overheated the battery? That is the only thing I can Think of.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Anyone else with some tips?
update: ordered a new battery. If I overheated it, it will probably work again.
Does any one now if there is some intelligence that checks if the battery has problems / damage / too high of a temperature?
Try flashing kitkat ftf without the battery. I think this is a firmware failsafe thing due to difference between display panel and display firmware on the device. Battery even when damaged should not prevent boot if the device is connected to a power source.
This is just a wild guess, too. Try flashing older ftfs that may be free of these failsafes.

Thanks for the good tip! Sounds like that could be something too.
I tried/will try it in this order :
1) original loader, load the phone for 2 days (no success)
2) wait three days without loader ( I read about others that were about to send their phones away and then they started working again)
3) change the battery with a new one (its on its way)
4) your idea, flash the phone
I was thinking about overheating sensors in the battery. Maybe it "says" to the phone "I will not charge myself. I am damaged" (because of the high temperature when using the hair dryer).
Maybe the battery has to forget that it once was too hot?
I also thought about that the phone does not want the battery because the battery reported the high temperature to the phone (and probably an unique ID).
Maybe the phone stores somewhere that that battery is a battery with problems and thus has a "ban list" somewhere?
Any way, thank you for the tip! As a final solution, I will do that.
If that does not work, I will probably look for another phone

I was thinking more about the things you wrote....
What about if it is a failsafe that is written in the firmware. So that it does not matter what battery you put into it afterwards. That is just is a "WTF! HALT! BSOD " and that this is permanent untill you flash it (because you Clean the flash then).
I will follow your device right away. You gave me hope again
Update 19:26 GMT+1 : I can unlock the bootloader, I can boot in flash mode and fastboot mode, but only without battery.
With battery in it nothing works. Only the red light.
The only thing I can get on my screen is the battery logo, and only if the battery is not in it.
As soon as the battery is in it, nothing works.
I think the Z2 cannot boot without a battery?
update : 20:24 GMT+1 : I read that someone could not charge the phone i normal mode, but it worked in fastboot mode.
So i now booted the phone in fastboot (without battery) and then plugged in the battery while in fastboot mode. The system does not hang itself, so maybe it is charging? Maybe it is not...
I will reboot in an hour and see if I can notice any difference...

I sure hope you'll fix your Z2, this is indeed a weird issue. I can only add that I have repaired Z, Z1c and Z2 devices with heat gun and hair driers with battery inside and never had any issues with batteries, not even weakened capacity. Of course in your case it only remains to exchange the battery for a new one. If that fails then IDK, logic board is next, but that is just not economic anymore. Hope you sort this out, GL

It looks like it is another problem, maybe the logic board
I took out the battery again and measured it using a multimeter. It says 4.3 volts.
On the battery, it says 4.35 volts, so I assume the battery is fully loaded.

And now I changed the battery. Same problem.
Long story short: Some z2 owners around the world have changed the broken LCD screen and now they get the "red light of death" (I googled "changed lcd / digitizer" "red light" and found a few with the same problem. Not just Z2, but also Z and Z3
Its not the battery. Its not the screen (without battery ,you get the battery logo on the screen when you try to turn it on, so the LCD screen works).
The facts :
- 3 flashes when you try to turn on the phone without charging cable + battery in it
- i can lock and unlock the bootloader without problems
- nothing happens when you try to turn on the phone with charging cable in it. (The red light stays on)
- with the charging cable in the phone, you get the red charging light, but thats all.
- holding in on/off + volume up with the battery does give 3 vibrates, but nothing more
- without battery I can flash and fastboot. Without errors. Even the Sony tool can flash the phone.
- if I give fastboot commands I get three dots as an answer and then nothing more. It just hangs there
- a new battery does not solve the problem
- magnetic charger does not solve the problem
- original sony cable + sony charger does not solve the problem
- dock-loader from sony does not solve the problem
- flashing the phone with the oldest firmware and the newest does not solve the problem
- the battery is fully loaded and the voltage does not drop if I measure it during a "power on"
I guess I am out of luck It feels crappy to but a new phone. Not that I cannot afford it, but it feels like such a waste of money.
Another thing is that I really like my dedicated camera button, so I am kinda stuck to the brand too
If any one has any tips, or things I can try, please tell me!
After some more googling, I discovered that there is a japanese version of the Z2. It is called "Docomo SO-03F". This seems to be real Sony (so not a clone). This phone has its own firmware too! Maybe this is the problem? That people with the same problem are installing a Docomo screen in stead of a real Z2 screen?
Does any one know if this could be true? That the hardware is too different?

If you take out the battery again. Then you can flash again (holding the volume button down). But as soon as you put the battery back in, it is the same problem. It is so strange.
First I was concinved that it had to do with the battery, because if you take out the battery, and put the cable in the charger (not the computer!), then you get the battery logo on the screen. Do you have that too?

What firmware did you flash? I flashed android 4.x (two different versions). Then I also got no battery logo.
I think the logo is included in the firmware.
When I flashed android 5 again, then the battery logo came back again. Of course, ONLY when the battery was not in the phone. Else I only get the red light.

Try this :
1) take out battery
2) start flashtool (download the latest)
3) hold down powerbutton and then plug the cable in the computer
4) Does it say device connected then? Then you can probably flash it using Flashtool
I assume that you have all the correct drivers (ADB drivers) installed and that you flashed before using Flashtool

I think this is a firmware compatibility problem. The screen is not compatible with the phone and thus creating a kernel panic on startup. But,Im just guessing. I am sure I did not destroy anything in the phone when changing the screen. I was extremely careful.
Did you also buy it from China. Does it have the Sony Logo on it? (mine does).
There are also version with the sony logo on it, but there is some black stuff over it, that you have to scrape off. Mine was not like that.
Hi all,
My phone cut out at about 10% battery charge earlier and wouldn't turn back on. I thought it was probably just bad battery stats. But now I'm home, even after an hour on charge (and 30 mins on another charger) the phone won't turn on. It also shows up as an unrecognised device in device manager.
Whats weird is that when I first plug the charger in, rather than seeing the blue battery logo, I see an unfamiliar green battery logo as attached.
Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? (Tried booting with the volume up and volume down buttons held)
It's also come at quite a frustrating time, I may not be able to reply until Sunday night as I'm off camping in the sticks for the weekend.

Sadly that didn't work.
The battery appears to now be taking a charge (300mA/h according to a USB multimeter), but I haven't been able to even get SP flash tools to recognise the handset sadly.

That is the conclusion I'm coming to, sadly there doesn't seem to be a UK stockist of the battery yet, but I guess in the mean time I can see if the seller will honour any form of warranty on the product. For now, I'm back on my old G3 and it doesn't even begin to compare. I loved my Elephone.

I have the same problem a while ago with the green thing logo while charging , I even try it on wireless charger but it has the same thing with the green logo of battery ...but luckily it charge normally with blue logo
I have seen this on my screen a few times when I ****ed my bootloader during flashing. Device ended up being semi-bricked. I could not flash via SPtools because my device didn't get recognized. I was able to fix it luckily!
Hi all, sorry for the delay in responding.
So, the first problem was the battery. You need to charge it beyond 3.8v I think to get the phone to turn on, probably better to get it to 4v so you have enough charge stored to use the phone. The phone can't charge the battery below a certain threshold (around 3.7v) so you have to remove the battery and use a lithium-ion battery charger (any phone battery charger), these are available for about £2 on ebay.
In my phone the USB port had also stopped working for data transfer. I tried changing the board with the USB port on to no avail.
I replaced everything but the screen in the end to get it working.
Are/were you on stock OS or had you replaced it with another rom? Just for a bit more clarity of the problem.

I have been using my poco f1 for 4 years now and it has stood by me strongly. I only replaced the battery once due to excessive usage from covid (hotspot on almost 12+ hrs of the day).
It had pixel plus 11 rom in it and I was very happy with it too. Over the past 1 week, i noticed it was behaving strangely.
1. The charge time took almost 3hrs even though it showed charing rapidly
2. When I switch off the phone and keep it for the charge, it charges comparatively faster.
3. At certain times, it would freeze and restart.
4. Would heat up during charging, so I would keep it near a window or anywhere there is a breeze so that it doesn't overheat.
As of yesterday, the phone went into a complete loop after charging (It was off while being charged, once it reached 95% I unplugged and switched it on) with poco symbol followed by the 'G' icon appearing.
I thought i'd wait it out, but no luck. The weirdest thing was, when i reconnected my charger (Charge ON), it would switch on. And when i'd unplug it, the phone would switch off and go back into the loop.
The phone was near full charged, but i figured this is probably a rom issue and needs a good flash. So, I plugged the phone in for charging again so that I could switch it on and then took the necessary backups.
In parallel, I downloaded the latest rom (Pixel 12 stable build) thinking that if i flashed it would solve everything.
I connected the phone via USB to the laptop to copy the rom file, but it didn't swith on. It would only do so by charger. (Weird!). I tried it a couple of times, and managed to switch the phone via USB cable connected from laptop. But it didnt last for long as the phone would switch off shortly. Fortunately, it was on for just enough time and i mean, a couple of times till I could copy the file into storage for flashing.
I reconnected it back to the wall charger, switched on and took backups. At this point the phone has reached 100% for about 2hrs or so, but there's nothing i can do in order to get it to be on.
I proceeded to flash pixel rom 12 via twrp after clearing the cache, davlik and all of that. It was successful (no error messages appeared) and when i rebooted it I could see that the rom went through fine as the charging '100%' icon has changed (Its more graphic) but the phone still wont switch on and continues to be on this loop.
Can anyone please advise me on how I can tackle this? I dont want to buy a new phone as I feel there is nothing out there that would match this phone for its value. (I can use pixel rom, good battery, durability)
Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated.
I'd be more than happy to make a contribution to anyone who can provide me with a solution that works. I'd rather be happy with my old phone and you can treat yourself to a nice meal rather than having to buy a brand new phone. (So far, im looking at mi 11x, s20 fe, mi 11 lite, oneplus 9R, but to be honest they just don't appeal to me. You know what they say, once you go poco, you go loco!!!!)

Firstly make sure you followed this installation guide.
Then if you are sure that flashing is correct, I think it's your battery issue. You should replace it.

I have given it to a mobile repair shop nearby (we have a separate market for mobiles here).
Hopefully they can sort it out or else I'll go for a used S20 FE 5G, saw a couple of them ranging from $300 - $400

You could just buy and replace the battery by urself with 5min YouTube video
In repair shop they may ask extra money or try to show u that needs more than battery.

Thanks for replying. So, my phone did get fixed, apparently, the issue was due to the charger port and battery connection. Somewhere there was a short circuit causing that issue.
They mentioned this happens due to overcharging or using the phone when on charge or running heavy applications.
Yes, a battery replacement would add a few more hours of battery life I'm sure as I currently average 6 hours on heavy usage.
I plan to use this phone till it no longer runs as the alternatives out there arent really all that great with respect to value for money and reliability. I hope to get my hands on the mi 12x, it looks really appealing!

I am glad you found the problem and you got it fixed
For sure hardware of POCO F1 is still good and worth the money. Enjoy the paradise of custom ROMs
