Flip case vs. bumper - OnePlus 5 Accessories

Hi everybody,
a week ago I received my OPO5 and I‘m totally blown away how great it is. The only issue I got is, that it feels pretty slippery and so I‘m pretty sure that it will meet the ground sooner or later.
So I‘m looking for a case, but can‘t really decide what to use. I never had a bumper before on my phone, but every bumper owner seems to be pretty happy with it (e.g. RhinoShield bumper). Before I always used flip cases, because it felt more "safe" for the phone overall and I‘m not sure if a bumper can provide me with this feeling too.
So I wanted to ask for your help, if you can tell me how a bumper protection-wise is better/worse than a flip cover. Would it be a good idea to add a screen protection when using a bumper?
And also: can you suggest a slim flip case just in case I stick with it? (something similar to the official 5t case would be great: https://oneplus.net/de/oneplus-5t-flip-cover)
Thanks for you help!
Best regards

Need help choosing phone case

Currently have xperia x10(hence the forum =), but my case is bothering me greatly. I have a stupid silicon one i bought online, it offers great protection, but makes the phone unattractive and comes off wayyyy to easily. Anybody have any suggestions on a new one? I'm thinking of the otterbox or the incipio one. I'm looking for an attractive case that has somewhat decent protection. Any suggestions?
I have a smoke clear case made of TPU that I got on eBay for just a few dollars (U.S.D.). It's not bulky like the hard plastic or rubberized plastic cases are and it's not sticky like the silicone cases can be. The case itself is bendable and 'rubbery,' but smooth. I think it offers great protection for the price. I've been using it since last year with no problems.
I got mine from an eBay seller named 'dcmugen88.' There are other cases for the X10 that are made of TPU, but the smoke clear one he sells has no designs on it and I like that.
He's selling one now for $3.49 (U.S.D.) and free shipping:

Oh...my girlfriend has an HTC EVO 4G with a TPU case too. She recently dropped the phone into water accidentally, and the TPU case kept almost all the water out of the protected areas. Her phone still works perfectly.
I did not like the silicone case, I wonder anyone took his leather case?
I am looking to get the otterbox commuter case but they want $50+ for shipping also... which is too much IMO.... if anybody knows of any sites please let me know....

Hi
I purchased a Capdase Alumor Metal Case from mobilefun.co.uk, its a really good fit and feels sturdy, I am very happy with it.
I got one of the silicone cases of of amazon and it is muck, terrible fit.
there arent good cases for x10 out there....
I have used many cases. I am still searching for "thee" case.
So far I have used the silicon, and gel/cases and they are bleh.
I did try a leather case, the Melkco Jacka type case.

I really like this case, BUT, and this is a bit BUT, it's poor design.l The phone fits/snaps into place perfectly, however, its a "from the bottom" flip case. The cover, when you flip it over, at the bottom presses the home button. This turns your phone screen on. At this point the cover is now pressing on the home button the entire time the cover is closed. The screen does time out in 5 seconds, however, while in your pocket, it constantly bumps and activate the screen with he slightest touch. Draining battery.
I am about to order this case. So far I have been told it's probably the best case there is for an x10. It's an Incipio case. http://www.myincipio.com/Sony-Erics...on-Xperia-X10-EDGE-Hard-Shell-Slider-Case.asp
What I really want is a Seidio case. Too bad they don't make them for the x10. I have one for my atrix and it;s the best case I have ever had.

Video Review: SGP Ultra Capsule for Galaxy note

Hey guys,
Got my hands on the SGP Ultra Capsule and wanted to bring you a quick video on it. The case itself is made of durable TPU, so while it is flexible, once you put it on the Note, it becomes firm and tough. I love the look and feel of the case, although the buttons are a little hard to press.
Check out the full video below for more info:
Just wanted your opinion on this; The last Smart Phone I had I never felt like I needed a case for it, was pretty durable. I just got the Note recently and have felt like it's probably a good idea to get some sort of case for it. I've been looking around, and everything I see seems either way too bulky, or so thin that they couldn't effectively protect the phone anyways. The case you reviewed seems to fit into the latter category. Do these thin TPU cases actually protect the phone much? Are they simply for esthetical purposes, or just to protect from scratches? Or do they seem to provide protection in case of small drops?
I'm a noob to cellphone cases, and am rather skeptical of cases such as this one, but for my own esthetics I do prefer them over the bulky units.
Nice case! I look to get this

Luphie Metal Bumper. Anyone Own one?

I could not find any reviews of this bumper. I was interested in getting it but I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts about it first.

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...on-Aluminum-Frame-For-Galaxy/32625294136.html
Not for the S7, but I owned one for my Note5 up until last week, and man was it pretty. I got the Gold bumper to go with my White Note5. I also got a leather skin from DBrand and that phone was so pretty. It was nice quality, and I thought it was worth the cost. I purchased it from a stateside seller from Ebay who imported them from China for half the cost of casefanatic.com. The one thing I will caution is that only the very inside of the Luphie case is protected by a small line of foam, not the inside of the sides (if that makes sense). This means that the actual metal bumper of the phone itself will get scratched, metal on metal, leaving small lines all around the phone bumper. Also, my signal was affected just a little. I suppose that's due to the aluminum covering the antennas.
I don't know that I would buy it again, honestly. It did look very nice for sure. But, I think it takes away from the actual day-to-day function of the phone. I hope this helps!
actually, the brand of that bumper is Ginmic, not Luphie. These are 2 factories, design is the same but different logo.
here is the Luphie one. http://www.ipromarket.com/luphie-ra...er-case-for-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-g9350.html
Quite expensive but damn, so pretty!
I own a silver aluminium Luphie bumper with the black leather backing for my s7. So far I'm pretty happy with it and it's not given me any hassles as of yet. One thing I was surprised by was the fact that the leather backing was not attached to the aluminium frame and was rather a sticky piece of leather that attaches to the rear glass of the phone. Not what I was initially after but it's been alright so far and it's very adhesive so that's good.
Very difficult to line up the leather backing when you first stick it on so take your time and start from the camera side heading down the phone. The backing makes the phone very grippy on surfaces so it's much safer to leave it on tables and stuff but the aluminium sides are a bit slippery and of course the phone feels slightly heavier. It does look aesthetically pleasing though and I can't fault the built in buttons on the Luphie bumper because they are excellent and haven't hampered the phone in any way.
I ordered them off eBay from a Chinese distributor and with post and packaging they came to $12 each.
Any other questions just ask and I will be happy to help..

How was the signal reception? Has it dropped a bit due to the aluminum?

The signal reception seemed to stay normal. However the GPS was affected and would drop out every now and then when using google maps, waze etc.

When GPS becomes glitchy, what quick fix do you usually do? Has it all been patience or have you discovered any workarounds aside removing the bumper? I could imagine having to switch cases when travelling I would be using a clear bumper case, all else I'd be using Luphie. Just ordered mjne for OnePlus 5t though.
When I realised that it was the case doing it, I was a bit bummed. Eventually I stopped using the case because it was not really simple to remove it each time. The screws make this a slightly more difficult task to do when you need it done on a regular basus. It's a real pity because it's an amazing looking case and I loved the protection it gave. I'm now using an abs plastic/slicon one instead, made by VRS design. No issues with GPS with this one and does the job of protecting everything well enough.

That eventually would happen to me as well I guess. Still holding off order cancellation though haha! I ordered from Aliexpress and the seller has not shipped the product yet. I'm tempted to cancel but there is really no option of enjoying the feel of a skinned phone and a bumper since RhinoShield is too bulky for me I think and they have not released one for the OnePlus 5t yet.

Carved - real wood cases

Hi everybody.
I love Carved cases (http://www.carved.com/)
I bought few of them for my friends but never owned one. I was looking forward to buying one for my new Pixel and finally Carved opened the pre-orders.
BUT
They are releasing only "Traveler" model, which is a bulkier version of their case. They are not going to release "Slim" model, which I always buy...
Does anyone getting the Traveler? Have anyone had the expirience with the Traveler before?
I really love the design of their cases but I don't want bulkier case, even the fact that Traveler doesn't have the cutouts for power and volume buttons pisses me off (Slim had the cutouts for buttons)
Sharing your expirience is much appreciated
I really like those Satellite cases. Hopefully they make them available for the Pixels.
I always get Carved cases for my phone but I find that it usually takes less than a month for me to crack the slim cases. The traveller case is rubberized and can handle a little bit more without cracking.

Have you ordered one for pixel?
My GF's slim case survived one year just fine even though she can be clumsy. However the one that we bought for her Mom cracked twice during two weeks proving your statement))
How do you like traveller case overall? How bulky it is compared to Slim?
They only just made them available for the pixel but I immediately ordered one. I'll post something about it when I get it (if I remember) but it might take a little longer since I'm up here in Canuckleland. I've only ever had the slim cases since that's all they had available for my Nexus 6 but I got my girlfriend a traveler case for her iPhone and I was extremely jealous. The traveler isn't much bulkier than the slim case, but like I said, it's rubberized so it won't crack like the slim case. I'd liken it in size to the lighter, commuter otter boxes... Maybe a little thinner, it's hard to say.
I'm a guy who likes to minimize the bulkiness of my phone and I can't wait to get my custom Carved traveler case!

Will look forward to your review thanks
Just got my new Carved case for my Pixel. As you can tell from the "New member" tag under my name, I'm new here and can't figure out how to post pictures at the moment. However, in short, the case is fantastic. I got a mahogany custom traveller case. I will say that it somehow doesn't quite feel as "premium" as other cases, but that's just referring to the plastic/rubber part, the woodwork is phenomenal, I think this might just be because it's new and I'm not used to the feel of it yet. If you've ever had one of their cases before though, you'll likely know what I mean. It's not noticeably different in size than my Spigen Liquid Crystal and it's got good grip around the edges. The only criticism that I have for it is that the power and volume buttons on the side are barely raised and it's hard to feel them out when I'm not looking at the phone.
Overall though, I would highly recommend it. It's a great case and I'm glad I got it. The customization options are great... to be honest, it's hard to find the words to recommend the case enough, I love it. Carved makes an exceptional product
I regret what I said about it feeling premium. I lurvs this case.

That's nice!
I decided to skip at least for now as I already purchased two cases and don't wanna spend more yet. Also I unfortunately have white pixel and it won't be as good as black with traveller case.
However, if they out more great designs by artists, I might jump on one
These guys are running a pretty nice Cyber Monday Deal - 25% most cases, $10 the custom SATELLITE case. FREE screen protector with every case purchase. I'm in for one SATELLITE.
I ended up ordering one of their "map" custom cases, which is quite expensive I must say, but I am very excited because the case will display a very important place to me will update with the photos when it arrives (closer to Christmas)
I ordered one of their custom satalite cases and it's really nice. Very unique looking. The lip is good and should protect the screen. It's also not too bulky of a case. Each case is unique and made in Indiana. Very cool.

Sorry for the delay. Posting the pictures of my custom map case. I like the design, but as I expected it is bulkier than I would like it to be. I would be much happier with slim case if carved made it...

Top 5 OnePlus 5 Cases you can get now!

Hi all,
As most of you know, I've been testing out every case I can get my hands on. It's been more difficult this year, there doesn't seem to be as much choice and companies such as Spigen have really dragged their heels on getting cases out for this community. Here it is, my top 5 cases out at the moment which will do you proud.
1. Orzly Fusion Bumper
This case I've only had for a week or so and it's already risen to the top of my list. It's absolutely my favourite and I'll tell you why:
- Protects the case well.
- Adds extra grip to the phone.
- Combo's well with your favourite skin manufacturer (Xtreme, dBrand, Slick etc..)
Overall it's the best all round case, it's nowhere near as expensive as the official OnePlus stuff and it's my daily driver on the OnePlus 5.
2. Tudia OMNIX
Another latecomer to the party (in fact I've only just published the video on this one) but a fairly decent one. This case is my "if I'm going on a messy night out case."
What I mean by that, is that it provides excellent all round protection without completely compromising the use of the phone (like a flip case) It has a built in screen protector, which if used for longer stretches could get annoying and has port covers which makes the phone better protected against those accidental drops in beer.
3. Orzly Slim Stand Case
I'm rewarding Orzly here because of all the case manufacturers they seem to be the one taking risks on the OnePlus 5. Not only have they changed up their, FlexiCase, Wallet & Fusion designs they've produced an entirely new case for the OnePlus this year with the Slim Stand case.
The Slim Stand case make's it onto the list because it's not a case that I thought I'd like much when I saw it on Amazon. I ordered it, just so I could do a review and then probably stick it back in it's box. However to my surprise I've really enjoyed using this case. It's given me the functionality of a more traditional flip case, without the annoying "flip" element.
It feels really premium in the hand and uses the phones beauty and elegance to it's advantage. It's also a really handy case for those of you still playing Pokemon Go as you can use the stand to rest your finger through when you're out walking!
4. Spigen Rugged Armor
Spigen make it onto the list, even though they're main cases are still slated for release in September. Months after the phone was released! Imagine how much further they'd be up if they'd put some effort in!
Those of you which have had the Rugged Armor in the past know what to expect. It's premium at a reasonable price and it'll do what it says on the packaging, which is add extra grip and impact protection. It help's that it looks pretty nice also!
It can be said that you could probably get the Orzly FlexiCase for a little cheaper if you wanted to save some pennies.
5. OnePlus Silicone Red Case
I initially loved this case, but my love waned the longer I had it on the phone. This is very much a "showpiece" case with little utility, but if you've been racking up those referral points, already purchased the backpack then this would be my next choice. It feels super on the phone, adds some welcome colour- just don't leave it on for too long or it'll start to fade and feel tacky!
Thanks,
Let me know if you have any questions!

I'm trying to take into consideration cost vs effectiveness. At least for me, the Otterbox is far too expensive to make it worth purchasing over any of these cases!
Do you feel the ring on the back of the Orzly Slim Stand Case, prevents you from laying the phone down screen side up because it would make the phone 'uneven'?
I really don't like laying my phone down facedown. Seems counterintuitive in my head if I'm trying to protect the screen from scratches.
Also, does the ring on the back keep the phone from sliding in and out of your pocket smoothly?
^That first point is what stopped me from continuing to use my Spigen Style ring.

Bought Orzly Fusion Bumper thanks to your thread and I love it.
Going to try this from supcase OnePlus 5 Unicorn Beetle Pro Full-Body Rugged Holster Case -Black
With a build in screen protector and hoping that this works for me.
Here is a YouTube review
Any thoughts on ringke fusion..? Looks vfm to me..itnseems very close to spigen hybrid..
