So lonely eh? Never imagined. Mostly it's to be blamed at Xiaomi itself as the stocks have always been limited and its indirectly encouraging black money. People buy from Flipkart for 4999INR AND SELL FOR 5700INR. Sad reality. But I was lucky got mine at Mi home in Bangalore Jayanagar for INR4999.

Every time when I reboot into recovery it leads me to Mi recovery. in order to enter twrp, I need to type fastboot boot twrp.img. any solution?

Why my phone was brick?

Hi, i just install the last build of LineageOS 15.1 "https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-snapdragon-roms-kernels-recoveries--other-development/rom-lineageos-15-0-t3690465". The instalation when fine, i flashed using oficial TWRP 3.2.2. Later after 2 hours of testing i decide install the magisk recomended on the tread for this version. Since then i can boot the system, it redirect to fasboot all the time. I flash TWRP 3.2.2 again and try to restore the old Stock room i have before. But TWRP only says "unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps". Then i format data and restore stock system withouth problems. The funny thing is that before flashing twrp i delete 2 files in the internal storage using TWRP and my data partition was not encrypted.
Any hypothesis of why this happened?

Could be possible that newer twrp is messing with the old roms status. Since stock twrp does not comes with treble compatibility for mido. Possibly switch back to twrp 3.1 by abishek. And tell what happens when u flash a rom with it.

If i downgrade my twrp the recovery still work (no boot loops or anything like that). The backups that i did with this version (3.2.2) still work on 3.2.1?

Thanks for the advice, i will apreceate the link for Redmi Note 5A. And i can't use RedWolf.
You already know i live in a country where internet is very hard to access (Maximum download speed 120 KB/s if you're have luck) and electronic commerce does not exist. Therefore, at some time I have been forced to use pirated software to get some special features that are only achieved with paid applications. The policy of Red Wolf is tolerance 0 with users using pirated software. I consider Red Wolf an excellent recovery, but I am chained to TWRP.

then maybe orange fox recovery. i didn't recommend it because i haven't personally used it, and after all at some point we all resort to some ethically wrong method to make ends meet. btw heres the link for redmi 5A

Sharing fully working TWRP by wzsx150 (Tested)

I want to share a fully working TWRP for Redmi K30 (phoenix). It also works for Poco X2 (phoenixin).
This is not my work. I am just sharing it. All credits go to wzsx150 (a Chinese developer) who created this TWRP. I just made the batch file simple because the original one was written in Chinese and I don't understand at all. I have tested this TWRP many times and everything works including decryption, mounting partitions, etc.. You may need to change language because everything is written in Chinese by default. I attached English TWRP interface for you to set language easily.
TWRP with simplified batch file

Instruction for newbie
-Unlock bootloader
-Put your phone into fastboot mode
-Connect to PC (require driver installed)
-Extract downloaded TWRP zip
-Double click !flash.bat in extracted folder

You don't need to flash TWRP to flash xiaomi.eu for K30 because the ROM for this model was released to flash through fastboot mode. They didn't release the ROM in flashable zip form like any other models.
Unlock bootloader
Download and unzip the ROM
flash it through fastboot

Hi there dear OP,
Since you are sharing the work of someone else, there are at least two issues involved:
1. You need permission from the developer to post this
2. If you do so, you have to also publish the sources of the TWRP to comply with GPL requirements.
For this reason, link is removed and thread closed.
If you solve the above issues, PM me and I'll be happy to reopen the thread.

Is TWRP out for Redmi Note 9?

Okay, I have been looking everywhere... Is Official TWRP out for Note 9 yet? I dont want to install unofficial ROM, and compiling my own version is too much time. If its out, can someone throw me with a link? If not, what do you think, when will they upload it?
Thanks for you answers.

No, no official TWRP out there, yet. I don't know for the RN9 (merlin), but for the RN9s/Pro India (curtana) there are LR TWRP, LOS recovery and PBRP out. For the RN9Pro global (joyeuse) and RN9ProMAX(excalibur) only PBRP.
Don't flash a recovery for curtana on a joyeuse or an excalibur! It could hardbrick the phone and only a service centre or a MI account with special rights to flash in EDL mode (which Xiaomi doesn't give out anymore) would be able to fix that!
There are already many ROMs for the curtana out there, but for the others only a few.
For the RN9(merlin) is a sperate forum here on XDA.
Tried all sorts, none worked.
Until I found this.
https://www.cyanogenmods.org/twrp-recovery-redmi-note-9-pro/
Offered there for Redmi Note 9 Pro / 9s [curtana]
But also works on my Redmi Note 9 Pro Joyeuse.
Backup was created without an error message.
Restoring data also worked correctly.
All other versions had a problem with this and issued an error and the data was of course destroyed.
The misc.bin is important for the installation, which was not included in all other versions
Ps:
Point 8 does not work there,
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
fastboot does not know this command.
Then just by
fastboot reboot
reboot and quickly via buttons
Power + volume up
boot into recovery mode
Thanks!

What ROM does your device use?
@zerodeaths000
Redmi Note 9 Pro – EEA Stable ROM
V11.0.4.0.QJZEUXM
https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/joyeuse/
If you actually have the ROM QJZEUXM, then your phone is a Redmi Note 9 Pro
Without Pro, it had to have the following ROM QJOEUXM
https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/merlin/
So never overlook the Pro, Pro and not Pro differ.

Unfortunately, I cant get MiFlash tool to work(Doesn't install the drivers after a long waiting), so I'm going to have to do it in fastboot(command line). Also, I got the .zip version, but if required, I can get the tar file.
Please refresh the forum link I gave here again.
I accidentally wrote Power + Up for the fastboot mode instead of Power + down
Just seen and corrected.
---------------------------------
The * .zip are only for recovery or OTA flash.
For fastboot with flashtool you absolutely need the content from * .tgz
Winrar completely unpacks folders and files that you need for fastboot.
7-zip, however, still displays a * .tar archive, which could then be flashed with the fastboot command line. Not tried myself.
Ps: driver problem maybe an administrator problem?
Start setup as administrator.
Or a snake oil problem (third-party Antivir)?

Got it. I can fix the driver issue for sure. I will try this method, with the cyanogenmod link you gave. I will notify you when its done, because I have 3 more days until I can unlock the bootloader. Hope I won't have to flash the firmware again, and that nothing goes wrong.
One more thing though
"The folder with the extracted files must be on the root of a partition, otherwise there are error messages"
Does this mean that the files found in the tar file have to be extracted directly to C:\ or any other partition?
Partition doesn't matter, it doesn't have to be C :
I get an error message in the not root, probably because the path name was too long.
Didn't investigate further, but copied it straight into the root.
Looks like.
Before that, the folder was on the desktop, which of course made the path name very long.
Maybe the long folder name would have been enough
joyeuse_eea_global_images_V11.0.4.0.QJZEUXM_20200715.0000.00_10.0_eea
shorten by renaming.

[TWRP][Recovery] Lancelot (Android 11/12)

Hello!
So I noticed that the recovery in the other thread is not working, at least not for Android 12 with MIUI 13.
Therefor i did some searching around, and i found some reliable sources which i will put down below.
The original thread/author:
[TWRP][RECOVERY] List of relevant recovery in one place
https://sourceforge.net/projects/recovery-for-xiaomi-devices/files/ I have compiled a list of relevant recovery in one place, i think it will be useful. Updates are monitored each day. Welcome, friends! How to install TWRP https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/installing-a-custom-recovery.67841/
xiaomi.eu
The recovery files:

A_11 is for Android 11
A_12 is for Android 12
I take absolutely no credit, i just felt that this needed to be shared.
This worked wonders for me.

Sorry man, snowed under with work , haven't had a chance yet
I have tried this Recovery and I can confirm that it works on Miui 13 Android 12.
NB: For Redmi 9, Android 12
Good job, hopefully I'll get a chance to install it before new year, I really need to backup my IMEIs before loading up another custom ROM.
So I can get this recovery installed and boot into it. There is menu option for imei backup, so I selected that. It launches, tells me it is taking imei backup but then puts up an error messoge:
E: Unable to load '/twres/languages/zh_CN.xml
and just hangs for a few minutes before rebooting to MIUI.
I have seen on other forums to issue :
fastboot --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
after loading the recovery - is this necessary in this case or is there some other action I should take.
All I want to do is take and store an imei backup but it seems to be a difficult task for some reason.
Also, unless I'm doing something wrong (like maybe I need to disable encryption from recovery??) then the adb sideload function also returns the error:
E: Unable to load '/twres/languages/zh_CN.xml
How difficult can it be to take a backup of the imei? I'm not surprised so many people don't have backups, considering how I'm battling to do this.

Managed to get a IMEI backup after installing Magisk. Ready for the custom ROMs again...
Managed to flash this recovery on a Remdi 9 with MIUI 13.
Couldn't get sideload to work, adb sideload would reboot the recovery.
After flashing linage using adb push / install, redmi 9 is stuck in a bootloop, not sure if this is the fault of the recovery tho.

Please what app did you use to get the backup? I'm stuck here and I have successfully installed Magisk.
You must be rooted then get onto the Telegram group Redmi Note 9 / Redmi 9 / Poco M2. Search around there and you will find a list of methods for IMEI backup - I used method #2, which entails using Termux.
