[Q] Google Play automatically sets to Auto Update on Wifi - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a peculiar problem on my Galaxy S6 Edge (G925F) on stock. i normally set Play to Not update automatically all apps, but almost everyday the update setting changes to "Auto update on Wifi" and the apps update whenever I'm connected to wifi.
No matter how many times I reset it to Not update, the setting changes automatically to Update over wifi.
Tried clearing the cache for Play and also checked all the apps individually if they are set to auto update.
Happens almost everyday.
Anyone has any suggestions on this peculiar behavior ??

Try to update your Google play services , look if you get some System UPDATE or do Factory Reset (ths will wipe your data)!

Thanks, but Google play services are updated and the latest. Also system updates are the latest.
I don't want to go through the hassle of wiping just for this.

[Q] Google Play Not working

Guys
I have galaxy s2 device updated to ICS 4.0.3. It is a Non Rooted phone. Now my google play has stopped working saying some "Server Error" . the retry option is also not working. I have tries factory reset method, tries with market enabler, reflashing of gapps 0429 version. Nothing works for me. I have lost all my apps after factory reset .
Pls help me out guys.
THanks in advance
Regards
Deepak
Got to system settings- apps- all apps tab- select Play Store and delete cache and data. Then select Google Services Framework and clear data and cache there as well. Reboot! Check if it fixes the problem.
If the above steps doesn't work, then remove your Google account and then perform the above steps again and reboot. Add your Google account back and check if the problem has been resolved.

[Q] How to fix google play services update issue

So here is my basic issue at the moment:
I can get google play to work but uninstalling in titanium back up and reinstalling the apk manually and making it a system app. BUT it wont let me download apps or upfmdate apps or update google play services also I can't sync my contacts from my gmail account with my device. Thanks to one of the admins on here I was able to get google play up and running after it crashed the first time but sadly it has stopped functioning all together now. I have tried clearing the cache I haave wiped data but to no avail. I have even gone through the sames steps I used on my last thread to geet it working again but sadly the app fails after 2 to 3 minutes of being reinstalled. Does anyone know of a fix for this kind of an issue?
When I try to download apps it gives me the following error now
Error retrieving information from server
[RPC:S-7:AEC-0]
Wipe Cache in recovery
That got playstore up and running still no contacts syncing tho :/

restoring anything to /system using titanium in lollipop doesn't work, yet. Remove your google account in settings/accounts then wipe cache again, you won't lose anything. Then wipe data from google services and play store, you can use titanium to do that. Reboot, wipe cache again, then add your google account (do not restore it from a backup) in settings/accounts, and let it sync.
also,
if you're using any kind of nodded play store to do that first sync it won't work

Try to get a apk of titianium backup and unintalll the playstore and replace it with a verison from a set of gapps
As it stands atm I cannot access playstore at all to update anything it stopped giving me error codes also. What I normally do when this happens is I uninstall playstore I remove my gmail account and wipe play services cache this used to fix it but now when I do all that playstore does nothing it just gives me a blank page

Google play store won't download

Google play won't download:
I recently updated my Android version on my unrooted Nexus 5X to the final release of Android 7.1.1 (I had the beta version before)
Since then my google play store won't download (keeps saying downloading... But never downloads)
I've tried a few things from the internet but none of them helped and the problem still exists:
* Rebooted phone
* Cleard cache and data of play store
* Cleard cache and data of download manager
* Restored play store to factory version (now also the play store fails to update itself)
* Removed my Google account from phone and added it again
As mentioned none of those helpd me and play store still not downloading anything including its own update.
My phone has plenty of free space and problem is also on WiFi (tried different WiFi's) and also on mobile data.
My last option is to do a factory reset to my phone but I'm a worried I will get stuck unable to download any apps so I want to keep it for when all hopes are lost
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the answer.
Did it. So now I have back the latest version of the play store but it still won't download anything.
I could technically stop using the play store and download apk's any now and then but thats not very convenient obviously.
My guess it's a problem with the google download manager that got updated with the system.
I tried looking for an apk for that so I could reinstall it but found nothing (only download managers that replace the browser's download manager)

Went into the play store and found out the system webview is disabled. Pressed enable but nothing happens.
Also through app settings the app shows to be disabled and the "enable" button is greyed out.
I was searching to update the system web view app through apk mirror but then found this thread:
https://www.google.com.ar/amp/forum...8833-android-system-webview-disabled.html?amp
Which in short says it's disabled in purpose by Android since updating to Android N.

Clear Google play services data. Update play store and Google play services. If any apps are disabled then enable them. Go to Google account and click sync now. Check your Android date and time.
Go to apps and clear download manager data.

So now I definitely think it is due to the update
I suggest you to again degrade it back to older version and wait until the newer version produced is completely stable

Problem just solved mysteriously and accidentally: my phone died (battery got to 0%) and after charging it and starting it again the problem was gone.
I have tried restarting the phone a few times (together with cache, data, account, etc cleaning) when the problem appeared but maybe letting the phone run out of battery has a different affect on the system than just restarting it?
Anyway problem solved.

MIUI 10 Stable - Play Store stuck at 100% after Factory Reset and app data restore

As mentioned in the subject, I did a Factory Reset of my Poco F1 (for the 2nd time now) and restored user apps + data from Titanium Backup.
After a second factory reset I still get a really annoying issue: when I want to install an app through Play Store, I have to click on Install, then force close Play Store, when reopening it starts downloading, then gets stuck at 100%. I then need to force close again to have Play Store installing it.
I already tried a lot of things, like clearing data for Google Play Services, Play Store, uninstalling/reinstalling Nova Launcher etc. But nothing does fix it. Any hints? Thanks
EDIT: seems like disabling bluetooth and restarting device fixes the issue. But as soon as I activate bluetooth again (which I use constantly with a Mi Band), the issue is back.
Please up
Still having this issue after factory reset without restoring anything from Titanium Backup this time and clean flash of latest MIUI 10 on Android Pie.
Whenever I want to install or update an app via Play Store, I need to force close Play Store for it to install, else it gets stuck at 100% of download and other install/updates are queued.
Thanks!

Disable Google App
I have the same problem after update to 10.3.1. What do you mean with "Disable Google App"?

Don't you have 'Google' app in your app drawer? Go to Settings>apps, touch Google and in the next screen, 'Disable'.

Question Latest CN ROM 13.5.380 ST (Disabled Google Play)

I have a CN ROM, but after the latest update (13.5.380) it disabled google play store, so I tried clearing cache and storage even removing my google account and see if it works, now as a last resort I factory reset it and voila! all google play apps are gone, can't even install google play, so my question is there anyway to flash it back to its original ROM version? (if there's any link as to where to download it that would be really helpful) thanks in advance.
I am experiencing the same. O don't know what else to do. Can't get into any google accounts. Please help
