Flashing a Custom ROM on the Samsung Galaxy S5 G900T? I have no clue on how... - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900T and I wanted to flash a Custom ROM onto it. The problem is, I do not have an SD Card (yet) and I wanted to flash it anyway. I know there are ways to flash it with things like ADBLoader but that is not my problem right now. I am just afraid I'll end up messing my phone up by installing something wrong. I have rooted it and installed TWRP Recovery using Odin, but I'm not sure what to do from here.
I want to do it so I can install Nougat, that's all, possibly with Cyanogen but I do not know how to do that either. Sorry if I sound stupid when saying this, I'm confident at most device modifications EXCEPT mobile phones, they just don't ring a bell in my brain :silly: Thanks in advance! Also new to these forums so I don't know if this is the right place.

{Attempting to go back to stock firmware problems?}

Hi All,
First off I apologize for my layman terms and my ignorance. I am a brand new Samsung Galaxy SII user. I have a plan with AT&T and mine is stock- My girlfriend is who has the problem, therefor I am asking for her.
She unlocked her Samsung Galaxy SII herself and is on an in-state cell provider. She has rooted her phone and encountered some problems... Calls not being heard, bottom touch buttons not working, etc. So currently we are working on getting it back to the stock i777 (it's on a 9100 and upgraded to 2.3.5) in hopes of returning it.
I downloaded Odin onto my computer in an attempt to help her. I downloaded the rooted system package because she wanted to keep her root, and I downloaded the Modem thingy to help with the calls not working. I thought I could just extract these and put them into Odin, but it's not doing anything :/ It recognizes them but starts to load up and then stays where it's at, and everything is the same.
I'm frustrated because Im a complete noob to all of this. I am used to iPhones and iPhone terms, and I am familiar with jailbreaking them. But things like Kernel, pit, modem, etc are all foreign words to me, so I am having trouble picking the right words to search for in the box.
Is there anyone that can lend a complete moron some help? I dont even know where to start. I'd love to get this fixed for my girl.
Flashing to i9100 ROMs are to the blame for all her issues. International versions are not compatible firmware and hardware wise with AT&T version. You will get button issue and call issues.
The problem you have is probably due to a newer boot loader being updated to the phone and it is refusing anything other than the i9100 ROMs.

Bootloaders don't do anything like that.
My suspicion is that it's some sort of driver problem. Beyond that, I don't know - I've never flashed from Windows before.
She shouldn't need to return her phone. Running an I9100 ROM and modem is known to cause ALL of the issues she's having.
Does her device have working Clockworkmod Recovery? If so, try flashing Cognition X2 from the development forums here. Make sure it's X2, not S2 - S2 is for the I9100. Cognition X2 is intended for our phone.
Thank you both for your replies so far! I am going to try the Cognition X2 and see how that works.
I had the same problem.
Use this as a guide fixed it:
Recovering an ATT Galaxy S2 after flashing GT-I9100 Firmware in the development section.
We got it fixed! Buttons work and so do the calls! Back on i777 too! Thanks!

Basic Vibrant Flashing questions

Hey guys, my mate just bought a second hand vibrant and should be getting it delivered tomorrow, and has asked me to root and flash ICS on it for him.
Owning an i9000 myself, I'm aware of the great roms available, I'm just a bit uncertain about if flashing a new rom would affect the unlock on the vibrant in any way.
I'm using a factory unlocked i9000, and have never managed to lose my IMEI through flashing any roms (I've tried all the major ICS roms), but is there any steps I need to do to preserve the unlock on the vibrant? I remember on the iPhone's we would make custom firmwares using ultrasnow or something to preserve the baseband, anything I need to do on the vibrant like that?
I hate to ask noob questions like this, but it's not my phone and I really don't want to end up with no signal and stress out looking for a fix.
Thanks
Flashing a new ROM wont effect the unlock. I do suggest making a backup of the efs though. If you get Galaxy Unlock from the market it will do it for you.

[Q] Friends Galaxy s4 on 4.3 rooted

My friend has a s4 running hyperdrive 4.3
Hes not that into rooting so hes pretty lost, not sure how he even got this far but anyways.

[Question] I've just found my old S2 with 5.1.1 (CM12) flashed. Need some answers.

Hello community, I haven't used my S2 for quite a lot of time, simply, because I've swapped into iPhone (found jailbreaking and Swift coding more interesting to be honest) but now I've just found this masterpiece which somehow is still alive and was wondering about flashing something new there. From what I can see, there are a lot of Nougat roms, so I want to test it, but what I'm afraid of is bricking it. My knowledge is old, so probably I'm not really prepared to do it. I've read something about repartitioning (i've bricked one of my S2 phones earlier when I've missclicked repart in Odin). Can someone guide me how to prepare my phone, to install some Nougat ROM? I'm on some nightly 12.1 CM from 2015.11.14. have no clue what Recovery is there, when I boot there it's only CYANOGEN Recovery, no more info.
Any help is appreciated!

If you searched a little bit in the Q&A thread, you would have found this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/guide-tutorial-samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-t3538601
It's for repartitioning to be able to install Marshmallow and Nougat ROMs, it's about using lanchon repit tool, if you prefer using PC only, there is this guide i made:

It's based on Saber's Guide, all thanks goes to him of course.

Help with flash a new rom...

Hello everyone I have a question to ask about the customization of my Galaxy SII GT-i9100 ... I followed the guide present in the Carbon Rom thread for the flash of the device and everything went well...now I have the TWRP with the Rom, which is not a splinter anyway, so I would need to try others, as I realize that Android 9 is a little too much for the Galaxy SII. Unfortunately, after flashing roms like Lineage OS 14, the device gets stuck on boot animation, but it is not the only Rom that does so. Can anyone explain to me how to possibly install different roms, since unfortunately I did not understand the mechanisms that underlie the modding of the Galaxy SII? Between Pit files and kernels to flash with Odin, I am a little lost xD Also I would like to know if, by flashing the stock rom with Odin, there is the risk of brick to start from scratch, without flashing the pit or anything. Thanks

hmmmm it is becuz there is rollback protection so once you try 9, no way back to 7.1 or so. restock will just brick emmc.
idk about what rom is good
Samsung's official firmwares are much more stable for GT-I9100 rather than custom ROMs for it. So, there is almost no reason to install the custom ROMs.
Now you have to go to a good repair shop (preferable official Samsung's).
