Youtube RED not in Notification Shade - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

So, when I back out of the YouTube app to do something else...there usually is a control field in the notification shade to either pause or 'X' out the app. For some reason, I no longer have this. I need to reopen the app to either pause or exit. Looked through settings and didn't find anything. Anybody having this issue? I tried clearing the cache and data...nothing.

Default notification sound changed

Somewhere along the line, while side-loading apk's and just generally having a good time, my default notification sound changed to an old cellphone sounding ring.
I searched the Nook Color forum and found reports of a similar problem but no solution. Someone did include a zip of the audio file in question though, which is what I'm hearing now, too.

Has anyone else run into this and is there an easy fix?
Thanks in advance!
When i installed google voice i think it changed, but I changed it my self shortly after.
In google voice hit the menu button, then it 'More'. A seemingly Blank menu appears.
In reality this menu actually just has White text on a white background. If you press what would be the top option in that menu, it brings you to the apps settings. Where you can change the notification sounds.

Thanks for the reply!
Isn't that an app specific setting for Google Voice? I have a similar setting for Enhanced Email and while it successfully changes the notifications for that app the other system notifications are still "Default Ringtone" which sounds like an old cellphone.
I might be misunderstanding how it works, though.
So it seems to be the stock email client where the notification issue is most noticeable. If I use a different client I can configure the notification sound but the default client *always* uses this default ringtone thing.
Do I need to wait until this is rooted and then just rename some system audio files?

[Q][Xperia P] how to remove notifications from Notification Center??

it seems pretty simple question. but here is the situation.
if i download a file from internet, then i get notification DOWNLOAD STARTED or SUCCEFULLY DOWNLOADED in Notification Center (the pull-down menu). after opening the notific-center by pulling it downwards, i can delete the notifications, so that the notifi-center is clean. but the next time i download another file from internet, i get then 2 notifications. the one about the last download and the other about the earlier file.....so, how do i clean the cache (or how u call it) of the notification center? right now i have my notific-center full of download messeges.....
Which app do you use to download files?? That's some error with the app you use.. To clear cache head over to settings>apps>all apps select the particular app n clear cache... A restart may fix it sometimes

Do you open the notifications or simply swipe them away? Because if you swipe away then it doesn't actually clear the notification, it just dismisses it. Tap the notification to invoke the download center app which should clear away pending notifications.
Are you using JB? If yes, there is an option to disable notifications from a particular application.Go to >settings>applications and remove check-mark from apps that you don't want messages on the notification bar.

[Q] Faded dot on the left of the notification bar?

What is that faded dot, which appear sometimes on the left of notification bar... like a notification but it's not?
does it show with headphones plugged in?
If it is as Envious is suggesting, then its the Smart connect thing. Or maybe you are talking about the Noisecanceling which appear like a wave sort of.

Like the one in the attached picture ?
A flag, SYSTEM_UI_FLAG_LOW_PROFILE, can be passed to indicate that certain UI elements be put into a Low Profile and offer less of a distraction to the user. If I had a nexus device (really any device with soft buttons across the bottom) then I would also notice those buttons being replaces by the same dim circle I'm seeing in my navbar.
This has been available since 4.0 and is intended for book readers, games, and other immersive applications.
Maybe you have some sort of app that are running in the background. Try to check your task manager.
It's not related with headphones. It looks just like the one in the attachment but if so it should replace a notification, which i dont see after it disappears.
I'll try to get a screenshot the first time i see it.
And please check the task manager to check what is open. Please take screenshot of that too
Unfortunately, i forgot to check running apps but i dont expect any surprises because it was after a video watch. so yes a full screen app was working but there is no clue that it's for visual enhancement and it just disappears after a page refresh.
if it's a notification, i cant get to read it.
I wonder if it can override the gps icon? Maybe it's a notification that what you are using is accessing your location.
I've checked it with the notifications log, it was empty. So it's probably the hidden icon of the running video app in fullscreen. it emerges when i use mx player, as well. thanks for the brainstorming

8.1 - notification sounds are not playing...

I have made sure of...
1) Volume is on for the ringer
2) Do not disturb is not enable
3) I can hear the audio from apps - youtube videos, podcasts, music etc
This only started happening with the latest update. After a certain point during up time, I no longer will hear any notification sounds - phone calls, text messages, emails to my inbox, keep alerts, assistant activating
A reboot fixes this.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I've just been around a similar frustrating loop. I'm not a developer and I don't have GAPPS installed so try this and if it doesn't work somebody else more expert may eventually help. Use the settings search box it helps to find your way around. First make sure you have 'Do not Disturb' options turned off (gray). Sound options on my Samsung Lineage17 seem to be in 2 places. The place you find from Settings\Sound shows the volume sliders which should be up. Tap them and check the sound is there. In sound settings you can mute any of these and the green sound bar will show gray. I don't link the ring and notification volumes (gray, off).
Now type 'default notification sound' in the search box and tap the result Default notification sound/sound. Very strangely this puts up the same sound settings as before but with more options to change sound files. I've not yet discovered how to get to this extended screen from Settings. With no GAPPS the default lineageOS sounds are in the OS somewhere I haven't found yet. Installing GAPPS puts Google sound files in the usual root folder.
Before I tried changing from the LineageOS default sound to point my file browser to my custom folder I had no SMS default sound. I had to wipe the System and Dalvick caches then reboot. Since you said you have sounds until some time later, I'm wondering if you have delayed 'Do Not disturb' options set? When you first boot and sound works, check the volume sliders all show green (unmuted). Then when your sounds stop, go back and see if the volume sliders now show gray (muted)? In the past I've found some 3rd party Apps using sounds can interfere with normal default operation and you have to go through the pain of finding the culprit. Good luck.

How to Delete Notification on Initial Display?

I'm guessing this may be the case with all Amazfits, but I find it odd (on my GTS) that I can't delete a notification when it first appears on the watch screen and have to back out (or long press) and go into the menu > notifications > and delete it there. Seems like you should be able to just swipe left and delete? I tried using Notifcation for Amazfit app and setting 2X button press to clear last phone notification but doesn't seem to work.
