[BV9000 Pro] Setup Wizard Error Loop and the conniving practices of some companies - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

QUICK RANT:
There are people with similar problems on Blackview's forum website, so I thought to add another unsolved google result to the mix. Apparently every thread and comment are approved my their moderators, even with the promise that each one is answered within a day, all of my thread requests and comments have been blocked. I assume this has to do with maintaining product confidence. At surface level all the issues seem minimal and the threads all have answers. Someone even stupidly asked If the phone would get the Oreo update, now their lone approved post in the rom section is the poster-child for post release support "hope". I guess I am stupid for buying this inaccessible paperweight.
MY PROBLEM:
No matter what option I select at the startup, the device stalls on the connect to wifi and check for update screen. No amount of updating or even suggested OTA upgrade will fix this especially given that OTA requires access to the options/settings screen that is only found post startup. I have basic experience flashing a droid III to make it compatible with different carriers. I don't have experience flashing newer phones or custom roms. Please don't put my thread in limbo, you are my only hope frontier superusers!
Edit/Update:
I figured out a work around based on a YouTube video I watched that explained that you need to access the settings menu to force stop the "startup wizard" process. I accessed it through using the contact/feedback page feature of the third-party custom emoji keyboard that comes stock on the Android. Perhaps I shouldn't detail anymore in case seeing how this is a hole in the Android nougat security. PM me for more details if you want.
TLDR; there is a stock app on these phones that allow you to bypass a bugged startup wizard and resume basic setup and function of the phone as long as it has not been synced with a previous Google account no flashing required.

I had no issues with the setup wizard, it just needed some time. (I skipped it on the first start to perform a OTA update before make any more settings. After this update everything works like it should.)

Same problem
I have the exact same issue. The installation wizard keeps on quiting. Drives me nuts too. I does not matter what I do and what options I choose, with or without sim, with or without wifi. It has something to do with the android version, more android telephones are affected. However on other phones (see YouTube) you can still access the normal menu and work around the issue. With the BV9000PRO this does not work.

Hi. I'm having the exact same problem on my bv9000 pro, but when I access the boot menu, it's in Chinese. Are the menu settings in the same order as in English? That way, I may be able toggle/turn off that setup wizard and be able to use the phone. Thanks.

This works for me
This worked on my phone: copied from a YouTube post:
Disable all the wi-fi connections in the radius of the Phone, skip the procedure for the SIM, at this point it will ask you if you want to continue without connections and yes, do not enter the name and surname to give the phone a name, accept the Google / Android agreements, at this point the phone will be activated, no update is necessary via OTA if you have the BV9000 PRO-F phone (full HD version). There are two versions of this PRO series phone, the BV9000 PRO (not full HD) and the BV9000 PRO-F (full HD). I hope this solution will work for you too. Let me know bye.

I had the same and trouble shooted through it all and the only issue I have left is finding a carrier for the USA and if or how to change parameters of Bv 9000 phone frequencies to work in the United States. Any advice from anybody in the world please send advice, Tony

Hello everybody,
trust my message finds you well.
Sorry for posting this here, but i am not able to post a new thread and honestly i have been dealing with blackview sites and their admins with no luck , they dont answer your questions, neither do any support, nothing !
I have a blackview BV9000 pro, my screen broke up but is still working.
I bought a new screen and installed it but didn't work.'
'
After reading some forums, i understood that the new screens that are sell now are FHD+ and we need to upgrade our ROM so the new screen can work.
My questions are now :
1- where can i find this new rom that includes English and google play services.
2- if i install it, my old screen will still work?
3- this rom will let the new FHD+ screen to work?
thank you in advance.

Hi I know this is an old thread but I have issues with my second Blackview phone that is the BL6000 Pro.
To answer you: I have found several links to stock roms on the Blackview forum, they might even be interchangeable but I haven't tried.
I am currently seeking support to see if flashing with another "series" ROM will fix the Bl6000 pro hardware compatibility issues.

[Q] MOTO XT882 - Need Root & ROM info

As an American living in China ... I'm hoping that SOMEONE here has experience / advice on how to:
root
and flash the ROM
for my Motorola XT882
Yes, I know it's only sold here in China ... and it seems cool - except it won't be anywhere near cool if I can get the d'mn thing flashed.
There's no market, no ability to add a Google user account, and a ton of crap software that motorola only intended Chinese literate people to use .... the applications were developed in Chinese ONLY regardless of the OS setting.
Really hoping someone can tell me ... can I use the ATRIX root process?
Can I use an ATRIX ROM?
Thanks
I picked up an xt882 last month when I was in China. I am now in Sri Lanka, but hope to use it back home in America next month.
I was able to get the Google system framework and applications on there by reading Chinese forums, translated to English with Chrome. I don't know any Chinese, but was able to figure it out. Here is one of the guides I used (just search for GMS or google pack and you should find similar guides and download links):
first Google hit for: DiyPDA独家分享XT882官方GMS补丁
...sorry, since I have no posting history, I am not allowed to paste any links...
Anyway, it was totally annoying not to be able to associate a Google account with the phone, as well as not have maps/talk/gmail/etc. I had tried installing APKs of some of these programs backed up from my older Android, but some (like gmail/talk) require the Google services framework. Others, like maps, will work sideloaded like that (but without latitude, places etc).
My xt882 is also rooted. I followed the directions here:
first Google hit for: moto XT882手机GMS包,G网补丁,ROOT软件« 听月3G
Lastly, I have 6 finger (supposedly you can get it up to 10) multitouch, up from the default 2... which really isn't all that useful. I followed the directions here:
first Google hit for: 修改配置文件让XT882直接支持10点触控(已上图)
I am still trying to figure out how to get a clean ROM on there. I want to get rid of motoblur, obviously, as well as all the Chinese crap they put on it. I don't think I have clockworkmod recovery properly installed on it, though I do have ROM Manager... and root is working.
From what I've read, I would not try to use any Atrix stuff on it.
Anyway, it is just a pain to try to read through these forums translated from Chinese, but I am certain there is a lot more that can be hacked.
Best of luck! Please let me know if you figure out how to get a better ROM on there.
BTW-- I was getting 300K/s sustained throughput on China Telecom using that phone tethered to my laptop. I was always very happy with China Telecom's service.
So nice to hear from you
Hopefully we'll merit our own SECTION like everyone else
I'm rooted now too (a few hours) http://bit.ly/getrootnow is how I did it.
The guy also has the tools to download to do it ...
I also have the Rom Manager - but could not FIND the clockworkmod anywhere - can you send me via email the APK?
Parker AT FusionLimited DOT com
Coool.
I've got to crash ... but I figure tomorrow I'm going to be able to back up my current ROM, and then figure which one I want to put on it instead.
Skype: ParkerFairfield
i did some research last night and came upon this page...
first google hit for: 【机锋rom组】9月3日全球首发XT882 Clockwork Mod Recovery
i got the apk off there and installed it, giving me an app called system recovery. it requests root and allows me to install clockworkmod recovery, but ... though i can click the "install recovery" button and it seems to do something, then says "install success!", it doesn't actually install it i'll email you the APK. please let me know if you can get it working.
im running rom manager premium v4.3.3.0, but i am afraid to flash clockwordmod recovery from that, as it doesn't list the xt882 on the confirm phone model dialog. the closest is atrix 4g, or maybe the droid3 global. i'm not going to mess with that until i see some confirmation that it would actually work.
let me know if any of this helps... i'll keep you posted.
it would be nice if we had a section for the xt882, but i think more people need to get it first! i wonder if motorola will end up selling it outside of china.
---------- Post added at 11:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:48 AM ----------
BTW, any idea what they are talking about on these forums when they say "brush" ..? or, at least, when chrome translates whatever it is they are writing into "brush"?
---------- Post added at 12:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:58 AM ----------
i got recovery working. you have to pay attention to the third step (plugging it in). i didn't think it would matter, but it does!
doing a backup right now. where can we find roms now?? hmmm...
So, I've emailed a guy named Quens ... who seems to be a MOTO XT882 pro!
http://bbs.gfan.com/android-2651849-1-1.html
http://zhangqip.blog.163.com/profile/
And he has a link to here:
http://bit.ly/motoxt882 that I think looks interesting ... so I emailed him this email:
Quens,
My name is Parker - and I've been following you online for the last few days. I found you after reading your posts on GFan.com ... and searching for Quens and 北京。
我叫菲育贤,我看到你的moto xt882 的posts 在gfan.com. 然后我做了一个 SEARCH 'Quens' 和 '北京
I'm an American IT guy, living in Guangzhou, and running a factory consulting company. I also just bought a XT882.
我是一个做IT的美国人,驻在中国好久,有顾问公司-www.fusionlimited.com . 也是,我刚刚买了一个xt882.
I've already ROOT the phone - but I need to make a backup ROM and I can't get CWM Recovery to run correctly ....
我一定有ROOT,可是我需要做一个backup ROM。我的cwm 不认识我的手机。
I saw your page at www.bit.ly/motoxt882 and want to ask - does your APK allow me to
1。 make a ROM backup of my current phone?
2。to install other ROM?
我看到你的网页 - www.bit.ly/motoxt882 想问你,你的apk让我:
1。 做一个 ROMbackup ?
2。安装新的 ROM?
麻烦你的帮忙。。。

What I'm not understanding now is - what's the point of the MOTO XT882 BOOTSTRAP.apk file .... is that the 'base ROM' for the phone? Or is that the file that works with the CWM Recovery application?
you can get recovery on there using MOTO XT882 BOOTSTRAP.apk ...
install it, then run the program "system recovery" and follow the directions. it is pretty straightfoward. be sure your phone is plugged in, as per step 3.
i performed a backup of my phone earlier, but i have no idea how to get a new ROM on there.
keep me posted. thx!
Moto xt882 dual SIM ?
sorry probably this is not the right thread, but.. just a simple question for who alreary has a xt882:
I'd like to be sure about the following 2 things before buying it:
1- Is it dual SIM ?
2- Are the 2 SIM active at the same time? ( than you can receive calls on both sim without switching manually, even if via software, between the two SIM) ?
thanks a lot and sorry again for the question out of the thread scope ...
treqq
yeah, it's dual SIM... there are two slots for SIMs, one CDMA and one GSM.
both are active at the same time. not only can you receive calls to either SIM without manually switching, but you can also place calls from either SIM. that is, when you place a call, it prompts you which SIM you want to use.
i tested this in china just for fun. it felt good to have my phone on two networks

interested in xt882
Hi guys!
I'm interested in getting this phone, but I'm not living in China... Can you recommend some way to get one? Maybe some online Chinese store that ships to Europe?
Thanks
Marco
This is a great phone-I followed the advice here and now it's properly rooted and has access to Google accounts for market etc.
BTW I was able to purchase it retail (it's also available online) at a China Telecom store.
My only disappointment is that it does not seem to support GSM 3G, only 3G via China Telecom, which I guess is no surprise given they are the main carrier selling the phone.
Is anyone aware of a dual SIM android phone that supports China Unicom's 3G? I don't care about 3G on Telecom so much (even though I hear they have the fastest speeds)
gametheorist, when i used this phone in china on china telecom, i had a CDMA sim. when i went to sri lanka, i had it on dialog's 3g network with a GSM sim. now i am in bangkok and have it on 3g with AIS, again using a GSM sim.
it should support any 3g GSM network. as far as i know, it is not locked down to any one carrier. were that the case, i would have never bought the phone!
Hi Larfo,
That's very good news, I guess that means that China Unicom's 3G is just somehow not compatible? When I look through the mobile data settings for GSM, I didn't see any real options that indicated that I would be connected via the net (let alone 3G)
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
in sri lanka, i had to add a GSM access point as well as configure some proxy settings. not all applications worked, nor did tethering. i think those issues stem from their network, not the phone, however. the service was unbearably slow, on top of that.
in thailand, i also had to add a GSM access point, but it doesn't require any further settings (eg proxy, etc). everything works except for tethering (both the built-in wireless hotspot functionality, as well as the third-party wireless tether app which requires root).
the real test will be when i return to the states in a few weeks. it will be interesting to see how well i can interface it with tmobile and ATT. also, i am curious if vzw or sprint will give me a SIM so that i can use it on their networks.

BE CAREFUL: THIS PHONE IS CDMA, NOT WCDMA
THIS MEANS THAT IT IS NOT ABLE TO USE THE 3G EUROPEAN NETWORK

Helllo there...
need some assistance to properly install GMS and ROOT this phone,
can someone, explain it to me, and what are the things to look out for, is there a sequence like root it first then install gms or install gms then root, or anything...
thanks in advance.
Not able to install recovery mode

Cubot Echo Geocode Service TrojanDropper

Hello Developers ,
My Best Friend had buyd a Chinese Android Smartphone Cubot Echo this Month and we informed us about some specius Malware and this stuff. So we decided to download the Mobile Security from ESET and made a scan and its shown a TrojanDropper, so we decided again to flash the rom from the official Forum from Cubot . After we flashed it we dowloaded ESET Security again . Again this TrojaDropper in the GecodeServices ... he cant use the Phone with this TrojanDropper because its sending data to china if my logical understanding is correct. Maybe some of you want know it and make something out of it , hope you can help me in some time If you have question i can maybe answer it but im not so good in english so pardon me if i cant answer correct .P.S.: How do i post a screenshot of the result? im new in this forum so its said no you musst answer 10 post or somethimg else?
Same problem
Did you get anywhere fixing this? I have the same problem.
I have disabled the geocode service and so far have no more unathorised apps installing themselves but don't feel I can trust this phone. I haven't had time to play around much yet but, tried Kingoroot but failed to root my device so have not yet been able to try removing the malware.
I've contacted Cubot but they haven't replied. Will follow up on any progress I make.

How do you disable the geocode on this. I too am increasingly dissatified with this phone. The new upgrade forces you to use Google and removes any other web browser when you shut down. It doesn't like Dolphin. I have to download that everyday. It's huffing and puffing over Opera mini and now Firefox. I've not loaded up any other apps since the new upgrade.
I find it quite disturbing that my phone is forcing me to use things I don't want to use. I don't trust this phone either.
I quite liked Cubots, which is more the pity.
I think it's time to look for another phone...

Solution to the cubot echo adware?
Being a rooting virgin, and not knowing/understanding all the steps suggested by Ngadhnjim (despite being tempted to try anyway) I decided to try once more to reset my echo to the factory settings, but with a difference. This time on the restart I immediately stopped and then disabled the embedded youtube app. So far, it's been a couple of weeks, the phone has behaved perfectly, no sign yet of the dreaded lmuch web page or spurious ads. I will repost here if it starts misbehaving again. Until I do, it has behaved itself.
If it does start to misbehave, I will be asking Ngadhnjim if he could detail all the steps needed, from the very beginning, to set the phone up like he has.

Cannot get past WIFI selection on Hudl 1

Hi guys, I hope someone can help coz I'm at the end of my tether!.
I've got a Hudl v1 which I factory reset because it was getting slow with stock ROM (never changed anything).
I come to the Let's get started and I click Start to get to the WIFI selection bit. I connect to my own router and it quickly says Authenticating (which it does), then it say Cannot connect to the internet, check your WIFI, and I click OK which takes me back to the WIFI connection screen. If I reboot at this point and start again, at the connect to WIFI point it says connected and there's the WIFI icon but no triangle icon to continue.
I've tried it on several networks, both open and secured and set it static IP but no luck.
If I use the Google keyboard method of getting to Settings I can browse Ok using Chrome and access Play Store etc and install apps.
I have tried 3 different ROM's now and all are the same. Used RKTOOL to flash it. Factory reset after installing each of them.
Debug mode and rooted now BTW.
I used ES explorer to browse to system/apps folder and renamed the HUDL SETUP apk to something different then reset again. The only difference now is that I have the 3 nav icons at the bottom.
Is there a way around this to skip the WIFI screen and continue to the next setup screen?
Is there a way of killing this process (if so what's it called?) of removing it?
Much appreciate any help.
Cheers
Paul
Factory reset HUDL - cannot get past the wifi screen
Paull,
I am having exactly the same issue my HUDL. I have not been through as many processes as you to get around the startup screen. My main theory now is to wipe the HUDL software and install alternative Android OS. Not sure if that would work in practice, but seems just the HUDL thats the issue.. Is it possible this is a deliberate bug by HUDL to kick the systems gradually off the market? Seems a waste as my HUDL still works well, so be stupid to bin it just yet.
Can you add any advice on how you did the other actions - how did you get your three buttons and did they operate as expected - presuymably not:? Even when I by pass to the keyboard section I am unable to download or update apps or install the Google Now Launcher.
Seems stupid to me. Really keen to find a post a fix for this stupid stupid issue?

I called TESCO contact centre and they confirmed that the software is no longer support and this sounds like a deliberate bug to stop the devices. - If you have a HUDL I would urge you not to factory reset as this will kill it altogether. I think from an environmental standpoint its atrocious to do this and for TESCO not to have a section about it on the website. They should also be telling people where they can send the devices for recycling or repurposing or offering a very basic OS so it can still be used even with limited fucnctionality. We need to start thinking about the whole picture and getting the information like this out there in the public domain.

Tesco HUDL1_Post-factory reset Workround
Hi All,
Over the past couple of years I've contributed to the MoDaCo forum on this topic as a HUDL user - since the MoDaCo forum is now defunct (sadly, recently confirmed to me by PaulO'Brien via email), I thought it might be useful to fill in some of the gaps for you by summarising the extensive history surrounding this problem, starting from the first Tesco server outage in early 2019. Much of this was documented in MoDaCo but is now no longer available.
I can also offer you a couple of workround solutions which I’ve tested on a factory-reset HUDL1, and documented as a detailed instruction set within a .pdf file.
Since it isn’t possible to attach anything other than image files to this post. I’ve transferred the file to Google drive. Unfortunately as a new user, it does not appear to be possible for me to include the shareable link within this reply to allow you access…..
If any of you are interested in viewing this file, please let me know via this post and I will look into alternative means of getting it to you.

Hi would you be able to contact me somewhere regarding this? would be interested in taking look at the pdf file
Hi
I would certainly be interested in looking at the .pdf as I have 2x Hudl 1 both of which have been factory reset before I knew Tesco no longer supported them and had swithched off the server.
Thx

Hi,
Since I'm new to this forum and there do seem to be quite a few restrictions on exchange of data, I'll need some advice on how to give folks access to the pdf file. As you'll appreciate, the amount of info is too large to insert into a post 'longhand', so a separate document was really the only way to go with this.
I suspect there will be quite a bit of interest, and it would be a shame if the site's restrictions prevented me from sharing the info.
I notice there is an icon on the post compilation page entitled 'Insert email link' - what exactly does this do, and could we use it to exchange email addresses offline ? I've no objection to corresponding with interested individuals, but I'd rather not broadcast my address too widely....
Cheers, Viv

Hi, Happy to let you have a copy, but please see my reply to KingUsman re how best to do it. Not sure why the forums are so restrictive...
My sympathies on being landed with 2 'dead' HUDLs by Tesco - you certainly won't have been alone in this, given the popularity of this tablet and continued buoyancy of the second hand market before the event....
Cheers,
Viv

I can also offer you a couple of workround solutions which I’ve tested on a factory-reset HUDL1, and documented as a detailed instruction set within a .pdf file.
Since it isn’t possible to attach anything other than image files to this post. I’ve transferred the file to Google drive. Unfortunately as a new user, it does not appear to be possible for me to include the shareable link within this reply to allow you access…..

Hi Viv,
I've sent you a PM, and hope you can share the link to the PDF that way?
Thanks,
Rob.

I've sent you a PM, can you see if you can send the link through there? If not maybe you can try enter it here with spaces between and see if that works
Sorry, folks - I've tried to unravel the complexities of exchanging information via this forum, but they do seem to me to be insuperable for a 'novice' user. I'll have to explore other ways of sharing the information....
In the meantime, best of luck finding ways to reactivate your HUDLs,

If you can upload the PDF to this link
https://www.dropbox.com/request/l3mJsUEvPhWvZtMR2mLM
I'll be able to share it with others for you.
Thanks to both you and Viv for helping out with this. If you manage to get that available on dropbox I would be keen (and very grateful) for a copy.
The restrictions on this forum do seem quite onerous. My original attempt to post a reply was rejected because it quoted your post which contained a link!
Thanks
FIXED!
I just managed to get past the setup wizard and get both my Hudl 1's back into service. The problem is not that the Tesco server is gone, but that it's certificate expired on 26th June. If you can escape the wizard and get to settings to set the Hudl's time to before that date the wizard completes successfully.
I've written up how I escaped the wizard and got into the settings to do this - it's s combination of information from this thread and stuff I've found elsewhere, none of it is really mine . No rooting or USB debuuging required.
Find the write up here: Apparently I haven't posted enough here to be able to post the actual link, so try this ....
https colon slash slash rob dot themayfamily dot me dot uk slash hudl
If someone with enough privileges could post an actual link for others to click that would be excellent.
I hope this is useful. Please let me know if you find better/easier ways to achieve the same end effect. If I get time I'll have a look to see if the setup wizard can more easily be disabled, but for now this has got me where I need to be.
Enjoy,
Rob.

TigerRob, I went to the website and tried. It still says failed to connect. I did the same thing you did by resetting thinking it was a good idea but totally forgotten about this being a thing with hudls. Im gonna try again and hope for the best.
EDIT: OMG IT WORKS!!!! I guess setting it to 2015 was a bad idea. Should of checked before and set to 22/11/19. Thanks dude!

Sorry, but not sure what website you went to. If you go to my site there are step by step instructions for recovering - but I still don't have enough posts here to link to it directly. If you click on 'TigerRob' to the left of this post and then follow the link to 'view profile' and then click on the 'Contact Info' tab you will find a link under the 'Home Page' - follow that to my write-up.
I've had a couple of other people confirm that they've made it work - let me know how you get on.
I'm working on a custom ROM, based on the latest stock ROM (JDQ39.20140424.153851) that will have the following features:
- boot 'chime' disabled
- setup wizard & Tesco updates disabled
- Tesco apps and branding removed
- Remaining stock apps updated to latest available for JellyBean/4.2.2
I'm probably a week away from having something that can be tested - if you're interested in having early sight and helping test then please let me know by replying here or PM'ing me.
Rob.
Fixed as well!
Rob, thanks for what is probably the best described fix I've ever seen for a tech problem. It worked perfectly, just as you described at every step, including the lack of download of the settings app so I went back and reset the hudl again but was quicker through the process second time. Excellent job! Rob

I'll add an instruction not to go too far in the past . The Hudl talks to other sites during setup, and if they have certificates then those certificates will have 'not before' dates, and if you set the time before these dates then those communications will fail ...
TMF Custom ROM v0.1 (for HUdl 1)
I have a working custom ROM that is currently running on 3 of my Hudl's. If any with a bit of experience of flashing the Hudl want to give it a shot then drop me a PM and I'll share a link - but I'd like to get some confidence of it working on other devices before I open up to general downloads.
.
Rob.
This ROM is not Rooted. It just works around the issue of not being able to complete the setup wizard but disabling it and removes most of the Tesco branding. More information once I have confidence that it's good for wider distribution

[Question] How to pack a rom and flash for smart display

Hi guys. Not sure if I'm in the right sub but I'm desperate for help.
I've had a Lenovo smart display 8 and it was working okay before. I did not use it for some time until I moved back to my country lately.
I tried to set it up and it seemed to update to the latest firmware. Voice works but I noticed that the screen isn't responsive. Thinking that something was wrong, I tried to reboot the device but it didn't get any better, so I tried resetting by holding +/- buttons. It went through the setup process again but now at the final step, it won't go any further. It looks like a bug that has disabled the touch screen imo. I've searched and found a lot of people having the same issue with not just lenovo but also nest hub. Do anyone have an idea how we can flash an older firmware to fix this?? (I'm not in the US btw, so I can't send it to service center. And the device isn't distributed in my country so I doubt whether local support could help. I don't want it to become a paperweight) It gets even more frustrating that the device is connected to wifi network and can receive audio cast, even youtube cast but the screen will only show Almost done! Finish setup.
I've tried to collect resources across the internet. There is open-source from lenovo website. File in tar.gz and I don't know how to compile it into an img file for flashing. There is another thread when someone posted a system dump in another thread, but it's not active. I wonder which one to use and further steps to make it work. Can anyone with expertise help me, please??

Smart Display System Dump or APK
Hey, guys - I've been scouring everywhere whether anyone has been able to perform a system dump of a Smart Display device. Since the Home Hub is using Cast as its method of being display I'm almost positive it won't be able to be engineered on...

Question Anyone know how to change the region on this Realme GT?

I've tried everything I can think of but no dice. Can't use "ok Google" voice command in the assistant and it everything points towards this being a region problem (even though my device is in English US and they don't have a region choose option {at least not one you can open}). Also another weird quirk is that messenger chat heads work for a bit and then go away completely (like even the option to enable it is gone after sometime installed, you can reinstall it to get it back for a bit and then it goes away) any help relating to these 2 issues would be greatly appreciated.
Update about the voice assistant: somehow I manage to click on the "ok Google" setting in the voice match section, it let me train my voice model and everything and then it disabled itself still not letting me do anything...
Update about the messenger problem: Still going on, only works for a few minutes after reinstalling then the option to enable it disappears and moves to the notification settings (and when you enable it there only a grey banner appears when you pop a chat head)
Lastly does anyone know if there's a way to update that permission? (On the 3rd screenshot) still trying to change the region to no avail
Tried SO MANY DAMN THINGS and configurations to get this to work -- and like you, for a fleeting moment -- I could get the Voice Match thing to not be greyed out. But then. Moments later. It was greyed out again, dashing all my hopes and dreams (but stupidly tricking me into trying for another few hours in vain).
I have no clue what sequence of things I did to get that enabled for the brief 30 seconds.
Other Realme devices have secret code command menus that allow you to change the phone region setting (not the Google setting)... unfortunately none of those codes worked for this GT 5G. So I think the only option is to attempt to flash Global rom on it, which I suspect has been solved by some folks in the other thread. Perusing now.

That's what I'm thinking in the long run, since I just got it a few days ago imma chill out (since it's not a vital functionality) in case I gotta return it or something imma run stock and down the line I'll qo the custom ROM route. Thx for your input

The hardware benchmarks on Geekbench are so heartwarming... but the lack of QOL stuff is really irritating. Notifications/alarms don't work half the time, totally unpredictable.
