OTG compatibility of Meizu Pro 7 - Meizu Pro 7 Questions & Answers

Hello,
it's been 3 months that I am a happy owner of a meizu pro 7, but I have a problem with him that I did not have with his predecessor pro 5, I can not connect my DAC / Cayin C5 amp ,to listen to music.
With the pro 5 it is original OTG, for the pro 7, I looked at this site because it is the only one to reference just about every mobile:
https://www.kimovil.com/fr/comparer/
to know if it is, nothing is noted.
At home when I try it is the pure fruit of chance, that is to say, I already could listen to my amp on the pro 7 but I can not explain how, I have several cables OTG (micro usb to Usb type C).
With the pro 5 I used the applications Neutron music player and usb audio recorder pro that I have both bought, so I also installed them on my pro 7 but it does not work all the time.
in fact the problem is that when I plug it to my mobile I wait for a click sound that you plug the device, so sometimes it puts me want you that the default application is neutron for this device (cayin C5) I answer yes and it works.
But it does not appear often the click is present but the question does not appear and the blow, when I start the music that comes out of my HP mobile.
I think that there must be a solution for OTG compatibility is more effective, that is why I come to seek advice and help, I thank you in advance.

up,thanks

Honor 7 working with a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter)

Hi folks!
Recently I bought a Honor 7. It works great and you get great value for money.
I couple of days ago I read about using a USB OTG Cable for using a DAC to improve the sound quality (I think the built in sound is not good enough). I have Denon MM400 headphones which needs some power to sound great and the only solution to get great sound is to use a DAC.
This is what I tried:
1. Connect a USB OTG Cable to my Honor 7
2. Connect the DAC (in this case a Audioquest Dragonfly, newest version)
3. Open the app "USB Audio Player" (Demo version)
4. Play a track
As soon as I play a track the phone shuts down and restarts, meanwhile there is a strange sound coming from the USB Port of my phone.
I tried these steps a couple of times before I gave up....
My guess is that the phone does not support the power my DAC needs, but it could also be a problem with the App (USB Audio Player).
Do you guys have any suggestions? Is this a common issue or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks guys!
I found this, I hope it helps. I'd love to see USB OTG DAC on my Honor 7. I think you'd need to edit the file on a rooted phone.
How to enable USB audio policy
To enable USB audio, add an entry to the audio policy configuration file. This is typically located here:
device/oem/codename/audio_policy.conf
The pathname component "oem" should be replaced by the name of the OEM who manufactures the Android device, and "codename" should be replaced by the device code name.
An example entry is shown here:
Code:
audio_hw_modules {
...
usb {
outputs {
usb_accessory {
sampling_rates 44100
channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_OUT_STEREO
formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_ACCESSORY
}
usb_device {
sampling_rates dynamic
channel_masks dynamic
formats dynamic
devices AUDIO_DEVICE_OUT_USB_DEVICE
}
}
inputs {
usb_device {
sampling_rates dynamic
channel_masks AUDIO_CHANNEL_IN_STEREO
formats AUDIO_FORMAT_PCM_16_BIT
devices AUDIO_DEVICE_IN_USB_DEVICE
}
}
}
...
}

Hi,
Finaly someone else with the same problem !
Same here with my ampli/DAC JDS Labs C5D... It's not the app but a bug with the Honor 7 according to the team of USB audio Player Pro. I had a couple of emails with their devlopper's team (very kind and dedicated btw, they refunded me after several attemps) but it seems to come from the Honor 7.
So it's seems to be a reccuring problem. It's was the with my Honor 6 !
I believe it wont work without a little messing in the build.prop or even the kernel. At least this was the modus operandi I´ve watched with other devices.
Why don´t you save yourself from the trouble and use a nice dedicated media player? You know you will get a nice quality bump, but on the other hand, you will need to carry a extra device.

Hi everyone! I've read somewhere that Honor 7 doesn't support OTG audio (even if it does support OTG for mass storage). It should depend on Honor/Huawei way to manage the usb output.
Maybe you could try this:
- go into the "secret" menu by typing in the dialer this code: *#*#2846579#*#*
- select: 1. Background settings
- select: 2. USB port settings
- try to change (maybe selecting Google mode)
I haven't tested (cause i haven't any DAC to test with) so i really don't know if it is gonna work or not.
If you'd decide to try, give us a feedback please
Cheers

Hi Nicoquag,
I did what you said but that didn't work... The phone restarts automatically and making a strange sound!
Tried it also with the new AudioQuest Dragonfly BLACK which has compability with phones now, but that doesn't work either...
I am a audiophile geek and I have bought expensive headphones!!! I am thinking of selling it and by an iPhone now...
Tried everything...
Just wanted to let you guys know...
Cheers!

Mmmm that's a pity!
Almost every Honor/Huawei device has problem dealing with otg audio.
Have you tried with other apps instead of USB audio player? For example Onkyo HF player or hiby music (they are both free and made for USB OTG playing).
Hello everyone!
Thank you everyone for your support. Nothing really worked so I bought myself a Fiio X1 for a good price today.
From now on I have a DAP that will do the job for me!
If you guys find a solution to the problem, don't hesitate to share that information with us!
Cheers!
Alex

Hello,
I confirm I got my FIIO Q1 working on my honor 7 with hiby music while it is not working with foobar2000. But I also installed Onkyo HF in the same time, and have tried many times with each software alternately before got it working with hiby music.

Switch Audio Output while connected to a bluetooth device

I just got the Huawei Mate 10 Pro (US version) a few days ago and so far I am liking it. However, I would like to be able to switch audio output on the fly; for example, on my previous phone (the galaxy s8), while I was connected to my bluetooth speaker, I could switch between playing audio from my phone's speakers or my bluetooth speakers without turning off bluetooth or disconnecting my bluetooth device. Is this functionality available on the Mate 10 Pro? And if so, how could I access this ability?
I am also looking for an app that would offer such ability. I currently use mate 20 pro and I can't find anything that works... Lesser audio switch does not work with mate 20 pro..

Huawei Mate 20 pro dual audio feature available?

Hi guys! Ive been tinkering with the phone for almost a week now. Ive also updated it to the latest firmware but i cant seem to find the deature like dual audio.I have tried connecting one bluetooth speaker (JBL CHARGE) and one bluetooth earphone (X3s) together but music comes out on one device. I know that mate20 pro comes with bluetooth 5.0. Any help?
Thank you
I was investigating for the same feature and I was confident a parallel support of multiple Bluetooth devices was on for the mate 20 pro, as there is an option in the developer settings to define the maximum amount of connected Bluetooth audio devices. But it looks they cannot run in parallel.
I think they do have the option to connect up to three devices - in the developer mode, and after reset, they do connect to up to 3 devices. However, this is different from Dual Audio feature. I think Huawei Mate 20 Pro do not support it, at least at current version.
I know this is an old thread but
Is there any app or mod or other rom or ANYTHING to make dual audio work with Mate 20 Pro? I can connect to multiple speakers with no problem but the software won't allow me to put out audio through multiple devices at once and it drives me crazy since I can't find any solution at all to the problem.

Problem of not recognizing any MIDI device.

Anyone noticed that Mi Pad 4 64+4 Wifi could not recognize any MIDI device?
I have already tested the device in both MIUI and Stock Android, adjusted developer mode USB connection settings, still cannot work.
I tried on a Google Pixel and it worked flawlessly, I saw two posts in official MIUI forum reporting the same problem too, so I guess this is a hardware problem? Maybe XiaoMi has to do some update patches to enable the function?
APP: Cross DJ Pro / Unipad
MIDI hardware: Serato DDJ SB, Launchpad.
If anyone has any knowledge to help, I am much appreciated.
I just received mine yesterday, and met the same problem, can't recognise elec piano and fhis was the main purpose I bought t it for... Will ring the customer service later today see what happen. (Btw, xiaomi Mix 2s works fine with MIDI, DID NOT EVEN CHANGE THE CONNECTION MODE)
Same issue here. I have Caustic 3 and FL Studio Mobile. Both work fine with my Pixel 3, and my old tablet (Galaxy Tab 4) but the Mi Pad 4 doesn't seem to recognize the midi devices being plugged in (other devices ask for permissions when it is plugged in but the Mi Pad 4 never asks). There is a developer option as to what to default the USB connections to. I changed that to MIDI but that still didn't make the midi devices show up in Caustic or FL Studio Mobile. If anyone knows if there is a fix for this, it would be greatly appreciated.
I had same problem. It was fixed by using proper USB C OTG cable. Micro USB OTG with some kind od additional micro -> USB C adapter (probably charging only) did not work.

Bluetooth problems 3:rd part apps

Hi, I have a problem that had been bothering me for some time and Neither Huawei nor the vendors seem to care.
If i connect a jbl speaker like flip 4 OR a pair of Bose qx 35 the following happens:
I can connect over bt and listen but if I launch their app trying to adjust settings the app ask me to pair/connect although I already am connected.
Works on my Samsung's but neither on mate 20 Pro not p20 Pro.
Bose doesn't even care to answer when connecting their support.
Does anyone have a solution?
