Weird "Artifacts" bug on YouTube in Oreo Roms RN3 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I have this wired bug on YouTube, the screen goes haywire in certain parts of the video on YouTube..
FYI i have tried both NOS and pixel experience and have had same issue, this bug is killing me, it's so annoying..
Clearing the data send to fix the problem for sometime but then again this issue repeats..
Anyone else facing this issue.. Any fix??

Same Youtube problem

Unlucky us! Weird that there is nothing on YouTube too. Even the videos which are downloaded offline from YouTube app glitch. Clearing cache, data, changing settings in Developer Options like Force GPU rendering, Force 4x MSAA, etc nothing works! ? Planning to go back to MIUI and then again flash rom maybe that will solve the problem. Also no problem with YouTube on MIUI .

Sigh!! True that..

That's strange. I don't have this kind of issues.

You can try newpipe, a youtube alternative from f-droid

Me too had the same issue .. even if I try altn app I can face the same bug. So I went back emiui

video lag in browsers

hi guys,
looked through the fora but could not find something maybe someone can help me out.
I have bad lag when i watch flashvideos in my browsers. all of them same lag. standardbrowser, skyfire, mozilla, dolphin.
Anyone with the same problem and even better anyone a solution?
Yeah I started thread couple week ago. It's in a q& a section. Unfortunately, there's no solution as of yet regarding video freezing but sound keep playing when streaming on network. Playing on wifi works fine.
One thing I found helps is restarting phone before starting Netflix for example or watching from browser.
Also note YouTube app does not suffer from this, so sometimes if it's a YouTube video embedded in the Page I just click on video link to be able to watch in the app instead of browser.

Yes I'm also suffering this problem. On network or WiFi on all browsers. Pain in the arse!

Flash doesn't lag on the GS3. But it does freeze frequently. If it lags then very likely you aren't actually using flash but the html5 player instead.
Netflix app does not actually use nor is dependant on flash. Also uninstalling flash completely, so that videos that do play, default to html5, still freeze while sound keeps playing, which leads to conclusion that it's not flash issue.

Try ICS Browser+ from Google play...
Flash videos did lag for me initially, so I tried clearing the application data but that wasn't possible. So I installed flash 10, which was incompatible, then updated it using Google Play to flash 11 and it seems to work better now.

Youtube app lagging like crazy on ALL quality modes

Hi guys,
I'm using a S6, G920i on XtreStoLite's latest ROM. Recently, I found that youtube videos stutter like mad (read: not buffering, but stuttering) regardless of the quality mode ( from 140p to 1440p). This is also despite the fact that my WiFi connection is hitting 150mbps ul/dl on Speedtest.net.
Have tried uninstalling YouTube and reinstalling everything but to no avail.
The problem does not exist if I stream via Chrome - but the problem is I can't set the quality within Android Chrome.
Anyone else facing the same issue? How do I resolve it?
Thanks!
I have also the same problem. The only solution I found is clicking the home button, go again to YouTube and repeat this sometimes. Then it runs fine
YouTube-App is lagging
Thank me, by hitting the Thanks Button

Thanks, but it didn't work for my case. The stuttering is still present regardless of whether I click to home or reboot.
anyone facing the same issue and found a solution??
hello?????
I think you have a problem with your rom.
You can decrease lcd density to make it faster and smooth.
You better increase ram management.

Galaxy A5 2016 (6.0) (Stock) YouTube 1080p60fps problem.

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with my A5 2016 (Snapdragon Version), the problem is YT app, I can't play ANY video in 1080p60fps.
I have this problem since I updated my device to android 6.0. I've tried everything what uncle Google suggested me.
Clearing data/cache, reinstalling updates...
When I had android 5.0 problem was solved by disabling HW overlays and forcing 2D GPU rendering in dev options.
Details of a problem:
Image freezes
Sound does not
I also had this problem while I owned S4, but then, I didn't even had option to choose 1080p60fps. (cm13 OPTIMIZED)
Phone not rooted, stock kernel and ROM, Knox flag untouched.
(1080p50fps works perfect)
Thanks for all responses.
Fix
Hi m8 found a fix! Just by using OGYoutube (unofficial yt app) 1080p60fps seems fine, on my device at least.
Try this, maybe it'll work.

It's not the problem I described (I can choose 1080p60fps, but image freezes and only audio is still going), besides I already did this what they suggest.
Does it do that on even the browsers?

Yup
Found an "solution", minimizing app and playing video after coming back to app makes 1080p60fps working, although 1080p50fps works flawless without this, only 60 is the problem

Oreo - strange problems with sound and videos

Hi, after upgrade to Oreo I have strange problems with sound and videos. Don't know for what reson the sound stops suddenly and the video works frame by frame. It does not matter if it's video from gallery or YT or music from spootify or built-in player. After reboot everything is ok but no one knows when it will happen again.
EDIT: ok I know when this start to happend. After using of @cstark27 google phone app ;/ Anyone can confirm that?
look for an apps that eats CPU or has memory leaks.
however you might put it... your installed apps are to blame
I can confirm that problem. It also happens with other gcam mods. I guess for now using the stock camera app seems to be the only solution :/
EDIT: It only seems to happen when using HDR or HDR+. During the HDR post processing (which is inidicated through that little loading animation in the gallery app) music suddenly stops playing.
EDIT 2: I think i found a solution. As odd as it may sound, but enabling camera.raisr in the developer settings stops the camera from breaking music and video playback.

Mhmm very strange. I did reinstall the app tough. Maybe the combination of reinstalling, enabling camera.raisr and clearing the apps cache afterwards fixed it
Unfortunetly still the same...Have no idea whay is wrong.
Does enabling the camera.use_photos option on both apps, and force closing/rebooting solve it?
So it seems that to fix the issue, one need to do this in that order :
• Clear Data from both apps
• Reboot (might not be needed but sound safer)
• Go back under Developper settings of both apps and uncheck camera.raisr and check camera.use_photos
Seems to be stable after this, even after subsequent phone reboots
Will add this to this forum sticky
Thanks cstark ! Will keep you posted if the reboots come back.

lag in youtube and stuttering in pubg

has anyone found a way to fix it ,also do u know what causes it
is 6a actually weaker than 5a and 4a coz no such thing happens on them
or is it hopefully just a software issue
also , does it also lag in GSI roms?
Actually the YouTube app is not optimized well for the redmi 6a. I use a modded YouTube app named "YouTube Vanced" it doesn't lag at all. And for the pubg mobile... Clear everything before launching the app and play on the lowest setting possible. You'll barely see any lag after that. Hope it helps
