Everyone know how to install and use Bixby voice, Bixby wake-up, Bixby service to Note FE? Why only have Bixby Home only, no function!. i have try to install bixby vision and bixby voice but no reaction!... anybuddy help?
Thats all about software, you can use all bixby feature only if you root that phone and instal a custom note 8 room
Actually i have the same thought as you do.
Here is my plan:
1) Root My Note FE (SM-N935K, Android 8.0)
2) Install Bixby voice, home, wake up... apks.
3) Mod build.prop to change the device id to Note8
4) Update bixby.
5) Edit Generic.kl to map the Bixby key. (This is to wake up bixby. I don't like voice wake up.)
5) hopefully it will work.
BUT! I got stuck at step 1).
I cannot find any article talking about how to root android 8.0 Note FE (SM-N935x) models.
Can anybody help?

Is there any way to use button without running all that Bixby crap? I know that its enough to leave Bixby voice service, but still thats one more unnecessary service running in background. And also actual remapping in all apps I tried is done by running original Bixby, then closing it and running my own selected app. Which is not what I really want to see
But I assume its not possible to do it directly without root?

I got an S9+ a couple of months ago. Since I had little use for Bixby, and I kept accidentally hitting that key, I disabled said Bixby key. Also, I am using the Nova launcher because older Samsung and Asus phones and tablet taught me the efficiency of Infinite Scroll and I can't live without it anymore, so the leftmost desktop window dedicated to Bixby is gone and can be used for apps.
Now I tried to re-enable it and tadaaa, it's not possible. From what I have found so far, to launch Bixby you have to re-enable it, and to re-enable it you have to access the Settings menu when it is already launched . Sure, I can disable the Nova launcher, scroll to the leftmost stop-window with Bixby and re-enable the button. If it's still there, I don't dare look . But doing this every time I want to look at it will get old fast. So I was wondering whether there was a way to start Bixby without the button, like an app icon or something.

i disabled and wanted back so i hold screen down to home screen -> enabled bixby home -> swap right (to go left) -> enabled bixby key... dont know other way...that worked for me
This is the only Bixby app that does not have to be disabled for Bixby remap to work. I have mine set to single press for camera. I have hear alot of people say that all of Bixby have to remain enabled. Luckily I can leave most of the features off. View attachment 4729585

with "Button Mapper" you can literally disable every bixby app (including bixby voice) and still remap the button

Yep, button remapper does it. U can diaabke all bixby related components and use the button. Theoretically should save some more battery.
Hey y'all,
I thought this would be so easy....
I'm hoping to map the bixby button to toggle airplane mode on my galaxy s8 using bx actions and tasker.
But it looks like the only way to do this is to root the phone and it looks like rooting a (verizon) galaxy s8 can be a huge pain in the butt.
So I'm basically wondering if anyone has been able to do this and how or is it not worth the trouble ?
