I just bought an AmazFit Bip and despite the watch is really good, i have an issue with the notifications.
I have tested the following issue with both MIFIT and NOTIFY & FITNESS apps from Google play.
The issue is that for most applications ( whataspp and others) when i receive a notification on the phone ,it sends it to the watch....... This is ok but, instead of simply receiving that notification on the watch, the watch start to show OLD notifications ( up to 6 ro 7) before showing the current one.
I have a samsung s8 Plus and I have disabled the "app monitor" to avoid the system killing the application in the background but it does nothing....
Similar behavior with the Notify & Fitness app.... Any Idea why this is happening..... Thanks
It's not just me! I just started wearing my Bip today and the notifications were driving me crazy. I'm running Oreo on an Asus ZenFone 3 so it's not a Samsung-related problem. I'm hoping it's a bug in MiFit that might be fixed in a future release.
Same here as well. This causes me to grab my phone and address or dismiss notification right away so I don't have to keep receiving them on the Bip everytime I get a new notification on the phone. Pretty annoying indeed. Fingers crossed that it will be addressed.
God, I'm so glad I'm not the only one. When you have multiple people messaging at once you CAN'T turn them off because it won't let you on the DND screen. It just vibrates for minutes... .Crazy. Hopefully they fix this.

Turn off app and SMS notifications in Mi Fit and use the free Alert Bridge app from the Play Store instead. It's much more customizable than Mi Fit and works perfectly.
Hi all.... It seems that with Alert Bridge app. the situation was resolved for some hours...... However now every time I receive a notification, the watch shows first the previous notifications received ......... before it shows the latest notification..
I do not understand why the watch cannot show only the latest notification received......

IMO Nofity and Fitness APP does a better job than MI Fit on everything. I completely uninstalled MI Fit app.

Exactly the same for me !
I tried Notify & Fitness and uninstalled Mi Fit and it seems that my Bip was not connected to the phone without Mi Fit. Am I missing something?

I think you need to unbind it in the mifit app and rebind it with the new one.

Since i don't use the Mi fit app anymore, i am not sure, but i remember that there is an option in the menu, to remove the watch from the app, OR you have to click in the menu on the watch and then remove it.
After that, in the N&F app, click on the Repair iin the menu.
Based on the OP description, I think I have a slightly different problem and wonder if anyone else has my problem. I don't receive old notifications again, but it will notify me "endlessly" (it eventually stops, but not with consistency). It usually happens with Hangouts and most often when I have multiple Hangouts messages that aren't dismissed or the notifications read. It's more common with group threads, but definitely happens with one unread, undismissed message notification that is a single person (not group thread). I usually have to both dismiss the notification and mark it as read, and then I'll be able to scroll to the Clear button, though I still have to scroll past the same problem message 10+ times before I can get to it. I can't usually reach the Clear option when this occurs without doing those two things. It isn't every time, but is very annoying and happens often enough to be very irritating. Does this happen to anyone?
I'm on a Pixel 2 running 8.1. Not everyone mentioned their OS, but it seems that Oreo has been common to those noting problems in this thread so far.

Yup, I have exactly the same issue. OnePlus 5 running custom ROM (Oreo). I am going to try the BridgeAlert app.
Does anyone else with a Pixel 2, has the same issue that I have regarding the "hang up" call button doing the same thing as "ignore" when on an incoming call?

Do you have Oreo on phone? It seems to be related to Oreo, check other threads about the same issues, not only using BIP but Pace/Stratos too.

I'm quite new to the BIP and my focus in currently on the notification functionality. I have tools & amazfit running for handing notifications over to the BIP. However, I have observed some strange behaviour and need your assistance or at least info, whether you are experiencing the same:
1.) In some cases, whatsapp notifications are delivered multiple times to the BIP. This means, after notification A was delivered to the watch (and not read/deleted on the phone) and a second whatsapp message comes in, the watch does not get a notification on the new message content, but the one delivered before. It somehow seems that tools & amazfit does some wrong parsing of whatsapp notifications (when there are unread messages on the phone)
2.) The "Missed Notifications" feature doesnt work for me. Messages coming in during a connection-loss are not delivered to the watch after reconnect (checked this for text and whatsapp messages)
I did a fresh reinstall on mifit and tools&amazfit. All are exempted from battery saver. Did not solve above issues.
Phone OS is lineage 14.1 (7.1.2) / Samsung Galaxy St
BIP, Mifit and tools&amazfit are up-to-date.

I had the same problem with other apps, but not all (mainly Calendar)
This weekend i saw a new version with an extra option (per app setting) to not show double notifications.
And today i have had not one double notification, so that works.
Just open N&A app, click on the menu button (3 lines top left).
In the top, you will see something about a new update. Click on it to download and install.
Is there any setting option that enable the watch to collect unread notifications from the same sender like,
If Mr. A sends me "one" then "two" then "three" (3 notifications in total)
Which i didn't see or reply on both phone and watch.
But when I check on my watch, there is only one latest notification shown.
I would like it to be shown all.
Can it be possible?

What watch? How do you expect an answer without providing device and firmware details?
If it's a Pace/Stratos/Verge, it works like this only with WeChat. Third party apps that manage notifications may do this too, I know AmazMod does doesn't (yet).

Watch Droid notifications behave like this for WhatsApp. You'll see all 3 notifications separately on the watch
Oh, you want to actually "ungroup" the messages, not "group messages from same sender"... Then you can install AmazMod, you don't need to install the service APK on watch, simply install on phone and disable push notifications in stock Amazfit (you must keep it installed) then configure AmazMod to suit your needs (make sure "ungroup notifications" is ENABLED).

Actually I face this problem.
I am using Line messenger as my main messenger service.
It is ok if different people send me message once each. The watch can show all the messages. But there will be a problem when there are more than one message from the same sender. The watch will show only the latest one.
I've tested with other service like Whatsapp (which I rarely use). There is no problem like this.
I really have no idea how to fix.

Have you installed either amazmod or watch Droid? Amazmod may be easier because you only need the phone app

Lovely new Amazfit GTR 42mm (International version) arrived from gearbest this week. I’m having serious issues getting it to simply receive notifications with the notification text (e.g first few lines of an sms / WhatsApp / email). Here’s what I’ve tried to resolve:
1) Phone has Amazfit app installed.
2) Bought “Tools & Amazfit” : doesn’t pair with GTR42 even with manual entry of Bluetooth address. Uninstalled.
3) Installed “Notify & Fitness for Amazfit”. Does pair with watch but not able to get it to show notifications with text. Uninstalled.
4) Installed “Tools & Mi Band”. Same issue as 3 above. Uninstalled.
With all above attempts, I’ve tried switching on notifications on both the 3rd party app and the Amazfit app, notifications on one app only...nothing seems to work. They are connecting but often the notification just says “message received, view on phone”.
Anyone else having same issues? Firmware on watch is: v0.0.9.26

I have managed to get SMS notifications to show text by only installing the Amazfit app (no 3rd party app installed), and restarting phone and watch, but I receive 2 notifications for the same SMS!...annoying. Tried turning on one or the other notification on/off toggles in the Amazfit app info section but that makes no difference.

I'm on the same 42mm international version. Same firmware version, and I'm not seeing that I'm afraid. Single notifications for most.
Same Amazfit app I presume. I connected it to the prev account I had for the BIP and all that came through fine.
Texts are fine, emails from gmail fine. I am getting two different notifications from outlook, but when I check on the phone for some reason there's two notification lines for each email on the phone so the watch is simply replicating that.
Same with me. I have GTR code name A1909 with firmware 0.0.9.26 (Only chinese UI, doesn't support UTF8 notifications).

Hmmm well at least I am not the only one! My GTR model is A1910, but firmware is the same as yours. I've just been living with it... I found that neither of the popular apps "Tools & Amazfit" or "Tools and MiBand" did anything to improve the notifications, in fact "Tools and Amazfit" doesn't even recognise the GTR, even if I manually enter the bluetooth MAC details. So both useless at the moment for me and a waste of £3 per app. Maybe they will update soon to speak with GTR properly.

Hi @nemov.. I'm on a Mate 10 pro. I also purchased the Tools and Amazfit app for my previous BIP that I had.
I notice that that app is only for use with the BIP, MiBand and Cor.. all of which use the Mi App rather than Amazfit App. When I re-installed that app it was then also asking me to re-install the Mi Band app as well, so I guess no support for the GTR in there just yet,
Hi, there. I changed my smartphone into new one with PIE operating system. Problem is that I can't get SMS notifications to my Amazfit Verge. With old smartphone with Marshmallow everything was fine. From some apps like sports apps I getting notifications about games starting, but from Amazfit app - I don't. Incoming calls I getting, others like Google Mail notifications, calendar's and ect. I did not tested yet. I checked in settings permissions, but in SMS there is no Amazfit app listed, in others sections like Contact, calls and ect., Amazfit is listed. When I activating in smartphone "do not disturb" mode - SMS notification I getting. But when this mode is deactivated - no. Strange problem. I don't know what to do, now is weekand so I can't ask about Amazfit or phone manufacturer about this problem. Why Amazfti app is not listed in SMS permission section? Any idea? Somebody have this problem too or can advise how to fix? SMS is one of important notifications for me, it's the same important as to get incoming calls. Thanks in advance for any help. By the way: Amazfit is already updated into newest version (if i'm not wrong 3.4.4) and Amazfit Verge is updated into newest version (if I remember right 3.2.5.0), smartphone operating system is updated too into newest version. I tried some things to do. But if say honest I couldn't find there is problem (I mean why in permission isn't Amazfit listed) and why SMS notification working only when is "do not disturb" activated. I have the international version of the GTS. The Amazfit official app is horrible for notifications, it repeats notifications, if in whatsapp you get a lot of messages it sends the text, then the number of unread messages, text again, number of messages and so on. On the watch you get a complete mess. It doesn't support romanian characters or smileys, for unknown characters you get a question mark and smileys don't show up at all.
Notify&Fitness doesn't work for me, I've bought it but notifications don't get through. Manual tests in the app work ok, but it's not catching incoming notifications, I've provided all the permissions required, granted access to notifications, tried with or without amazfit app, nothing works. Amazfit tools works really well, notifications are pushed almost instantly, it supports transliteration and it replaces romanian characters with english version. User interface is intuitive and easier to configure. Sadly it has a huge bug in my opinion, it doesn't push complete notifications text. Longer notifications are truncated, it only shows one screen worth of text on the GTS, although in my tests both official Amazfit app and Notify&Fitness can push a lot longer text and you can scroll it on the watch. I've been using this app continuously for the past 2 years, first with the Amazfit BIP and now with the Amazfit GTS so I really can't comment on battery usage. In android battery management the app doesn't show as a big consumer, around 3% of the entire consumption throughout the day.
The GTS should be delivered today from Amazon and I will set up with Notify & Fitness / not Amazfit app. The N&F app looks good and want to avoid Amazfit app altogether.

What is the latest firmware version? I never got an update on Dec 1.

Global version (no NFC) received Sunday
The Notify & Fitness app is good. Here are my observations on N&F and Amazfit app.
1. N&F serves a a good alternative for the absurdly poor Amazfit app.
2. The Amazfit app's tiny font is a terrible choice when there is so much white, empty space available.
--- Feature request submitted to Amazfit - poorly written english auto-response returned.
3. N&F has too many features if that is possible. Hours of tweaking (no drugs) finally got it to a state of usability.
Q: Can someone please explain how syncing works? Does the N&F app sync from Amazfit app or from the GTS?
Q: Can I uninstall the Amazfit app?. There is conflicting info in different sections of N&F app.
FYI - I am not using N&F notifications or Amazfit notifications for that matter. I only want to use the Fitness features in N&F.

v0.0.8.07 is the version on this GTS.
It took me ~2.5 hours of troubleshooting Samsung Note9 bluetooth issues to get the firmware and library updated.
is it possible to reply to notifications? I don't own the GTS but I'm looking forward in buying it

Allegedly you can do Quick Reply (Replying with a preset of phrases) through the Notify and Fitness App, but i tested it, it's far from stable though.
