Custom roms 8.1 - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers
Hi there. Why aren't there as many custom roms
as on honor v10?on the v10 is so many different roms
And the device has about the same specs.

Since the mate 10 is treble all those roms should work.
Let's hope some developers will jump on this
And port roms like carbon or resurrection
to the mate 10.
Probably they will work, but i am scared to test.
Since i need my phone as a daily driver.

they work fine, the reason there is lot of roms there is because honor gave out free phones to devs
Can confirm all honor v10 are working fine.

Im currently using KangVIP ROM. Will be willing to taste test what you're cooking.

So far, I've already tried 3 different roms. OpenKirin, LineageOS and KangVIP. Im sticking with KangVIP for now.
Stock Android and Mate 10... I think I will not switch if this happen.

I tried all 3. LineageOS is fluid and fast using stock android. Fingerprint gestures also work. But you're losing supercharge and stereo speakers and camera quality.
But why?
i would test roms too. what kind of feature set are you planning? are you basing it on lineageOS?

Works like stock EMUI with bonus features. Supercharge, stock camera, AI, all there. TONS of bloatware on 1st install.

Click to collapse I don't know, but I can tell you the Honor folks in the US have repeatedly said "The 12th of Never"...so were I you, find a nice 7.1 Lineage based ROM and enjoy!

First you need Oreo. And it's possible it won't be treble supported as it's not using a kirin970 or kirin960 chipset.

Hi everybody. I found this project, OpenKirin(openkirin.net), and I was wondering if these roms are compatible with Honor 10 (Honor View 10 is on the list, and Kirin 970 is supported, but I don't know if it's safe to install one of these in my Honor 10 device.

Do Miatoll roms need twrp-unified-mauronofrio custom recovery to flash? or I can flash them with any custom recoveries like pitchblack I mean, is the miatoll device tree embedded in the rom file or need an especiall custom recovery like that I said ?
No need of any special custom recovery u can use pitchblack recovery
Miatoll is the codename of unified branches of Curtana, Joyeuse, Excalibur and Gram. It means any ROMS and recovery for "Miatoll" should work across the four devices under it.
One curious query Does it apply to poco m2 pro as well?

Nowadays other custom roms doesn't require much attention specially in the case of mi device. You see the developers eventually leaves the project.

Click to collapse I agree with u that miui 12 hv all things..but i think Devs are not leaving they are working on Android 11 To make it also MIATOLL from the start.. bcoz our device is probably going get the android 11 update from the 1st quarter of 2021 officially..

As most devs recommend pico gapps while myself personally think aroma is a better option than that. That way we can choose for ourselves. But those things are preincluded in miui roms which is beneficial for a certain amount of time. And to be honest miui is packing most of the customisations in it that substratum, rr and others do. It's getting even better. And more stable than custom roms. As they are official and guarantees all features and optimisations.

This thread is for the Pro and S models with Snapdragon devices. The standard note 9 doesn't have a Snapdragon and doesn't even belongs here. That will confuse people only.
