Xperia X Oreo. Magisk root and apps freezing. - Sony Xperia X Questions & Answers

Hi. I updated my phone to Oreo. I rooted it with magisk v16.0. The root works perfectly, but I am, constantly, getting an error saying that the xperia actions and some other apps stopped working. Can anyone know how to fix it? The info appears and disappears immediately. It's annoying as hell.

sir did you use the debloat script v1.8 ?

No, I didn't. The apps that stop working constantly are: xperia actions, firmware update and messaging app. The info shows up and disappears in a split/second.

I forgot to add that I have systemless xposed installed. I don't know if it may have something to do with this issue.

I have never had problems with xposed. Besides I have it installed, you don't. We are using totally different builds, but still we have the exactly same problem. So maybe Magisk is causing it.

I fixed my problem with crashing apps. I simple updated xperia update center apk and the apps stopped crashing. Here's a link.

Snapchat wont work with rooted Phone

As title says i cant get my snapchat to work on my otherwise totally awesome H7?
I can't login.. At all, even if I change my password and then try with new one just after change...
Ive wrote to Snapchat support who told me that my phone was rooted and that's why I can't use snapchat... Just Like that, u rooted your phone so your out of the clubhouse
My thought was if there's anybody else experienced this situation, and if anybody got rooted and snapchat working??
I experienced the same issue 2 days ago I connected on SnapChat on another phone then roooted this other phone and made a backup with TitaniumBackup. Then all you have to do is to restore the backup on the Honor7 and here you go you can use snapchat

If you want, you can try a systemless root with 2.62, it's easy to unroot it if something goes wrong.
Just give it a try, may be you can make it work with that.

Sure, I'll try that dunno when I'll be but will try and report back
You don't have to unistall the xposed framework, you can solve this by going into /system using a file manager and you must search for "xposed". You'll see many files and archives, so what you have to do is to rename all of them with a " . " before the name of the file. This will hide the files. When done, you can login your snapchat. Don't forget to remove the dots when you have finished or you won't be able to use xposed
this what worked for me good luck!

Stop Apps Detecting Root?

Hi Everyone,
Alot more apps seem to be detecting root nowadays, and after Googling solutions I can't seem to find anything that works anymore.
I used to just deny the app in SuperSU but this doesn't seem to work anymore with the Sky Q app and Android Pay.
Im currently using Pixel.
Does anyone have any apps or methods?

Use Rootcloak Xposed module to hide apps detecting your root. Add apps that you want to stop detecting root.
Download it from here. You need to install Xposed framework.

Unfortunately both Xposed and Rootcloak not supported to android Nougat.
You can use hide my root app developed by amphoras to hide root access. Download from play store. I don't know it supports android Nougat.
Developer not given information about Nougat compatibility. Try and see
If it helped. Please thank me.
Iv already tried it, didnt work. Hopefully something comes up soon
Thanks

Use suhide app developed by famous android developer chainfire.
It can hide root on per app basis.
It is in experimental stage and it supports to android Nougat.

i tried it, but it caused a boot loop. I Looked through the thread, and it seems to be an issue with November's update. I'll wait for him to update the app and try again but it looks promising.
thanks very much.

Wake up path Cut off problem

In my greenify app wake up path Cut off option is not showing for some apps.

And the funny thing is, wake up path Cut off is working for some apps.

Running SuperSU on Android 7.12 with official Xposed Framework. Not seeing this issue. That said, I usually perform cutoffs from other app (MAT; SD Maid) so may not immediately notice if missing from Greenify.

As I recall cut off paths are only show after an app brought out of hibernation by a broadcast receiver (or other means) at least once.

Magisk uninstalling itself

Approximately once every two days Magisk deletes itself, saying its not installed once i open the app up. I have to reflash it every time which is becoming kinda frustrating. Im running PE 15th february build on Derp kernel 2.8 .
Could this be due to heavy battery management or is it something else?

Disable system update notification

Hello, as for now i'm satisfied with Android 9 version 10.3.17 and don't want to update to buggy android 10 update. Unfortunately, from time to time such message appears:
"Android Update Required: Your Android OS Version is out of Date and Requires Updating"
Is it possible in any way to get rid of this message?
It is dangerous as you can click eirher postpone or to update now..
I also add that i have rooted phone.
Thanks in advance.

You might have luck by blocking OTA URL with a firewall or adblocking app like dns66/blokada or adguard (these work without root as a "fake VPN"). Apply blocking either system wide or just for Google play services (and maybe also update engine apk).
There is no other way without root as far as I know.

Even if you click on update now, with rooted phone it won't install.
To prevent system update notification you might try to disable SystemUpdateService (and possibly SystemUpdateGcmTaskService too) in Google Play Services (use for example app "Disable service").
