The only way I know is testpoint.

There is now global beta version. I flashed from global stable to global beta through system update and now I successfully bind phone, no more 86006 error. Just need to wait 15 days to unlock it.
You can find the rom link on miui forum of Redmi 5 Plus

Sorry to hear that, I think I saw some posts in MIUI forum saying that xiaomi indonesia dont let their users unlock bootloader, not sure whether its true or not.
Maybe u can try test point method but check tutorials on youtube or miui forum before doing that

Hi. So I have REDMI NOTE 3 SD. I got permission to unlock officially. However the Mi unlock tool is giving error of could not verify device.
I'm on Global Stable rom 7.2.3.
I'm not able to go to China Stable ot Dev rom through updater app. It gives error that could not verify package.
Please help as to how to unlock the bootloader officially even though I have permission.

Welcome to the club. You are not the only one with this issue. Give it some time (maybe a week or two) and try again.

Flash China Stable through Mi Flash then use Updater app to update to China Developer from China stable. Then unlock.
You can't flash China Developer from Global stable using Updater app.

you cant go from Global stable to China dev, first you have to flash china stable through flash tool than
download and install china dev rom zip via updater app. it'll work..
Update your stock ROM...had the same issue..the update helped with solving my problem (50℅ couldn't verify device error)
pls post here with your details.

Had the unlock stuck at 50% too - worked after going to Dev version. I'm on Global but I think China Dev will also work.

In New Zealand country code not listed on unlock site.

Hi I'm wanting to unlock my Kenzo but unfortunately New Zealand is not listed on the Miui unlock site around this? I really want to install an aosp ROM.
Thanks

It's been so long since I unlocked my kenzo, but I don't remember it asking me for a region. I'm in NZ too.
From memory, I followed this page:
xiaomitips.com/download/mi-flash-unlock-tool
I set my phone number to the full +642xxxxxxxxxx.
The main difficulty for me was that even though I got permission, I had to flash the global development ROM version, as the global stable ROM got the 50% verification problem.

Hi thanks for your reply, on the unlock site it does not list nz and it needs to send an sms verification code.
i have a friend in aussie who let me use there number, i have been given acceptance to unlock but not i get stuck at 50% cannot verify device, what steps do i need to take to get past this error?
To fix 50 % stuck or verification problem. First flash global beta or dev rom via miflash tool in edl mode than umlock with mi flash tool. Or wait for 4 - 5 days after unlock code acceptance if u tried to unlock on reinstalled stable rom

It takes a week or two until it lets you unlock after getting permission. Also you need to be on developer ROM AFAIK to unlock.
There are several guides on unofficial unlocking, you should give it a try in case you are impatient.

Correct, you have to have the development ROM, and wait a week after getting approval.
Apparently it takes that long to get to their servers.
If you try to use the updater app on MIUI to flash a developer ROM when you have the global ROM, it will tell you that it can't verify the update.
Most people will tell you to use edl mode to flash developer ROM, which will work.
I solved this on my phone ; I managed to use the inbuilt updater to successfully flash global developer 6.8.18, and from there unlock.
No other version would flash.
Thank you for all your replies. I have sorted it moe based on your tips.

Mido can't update MIUI

I have Mido SD 32/3GB on MIUI 8.2.10.0.0.
When I check for updates in Updater app it gives me no update, and on MI site download page for Redmi Note 4X global there are 8.5.4.0 version. I have manualy downloaded 8.5.4.0 update and put it in internal and external memory and tryed "choose update package" option.Nothing,MIUI says "can't verify update.current version is illegal, only allowed to flash stable version".I have tried MIUI 9 7.8.24...same thing. The fone is all stock. But the bootloader is factory unlocked.
Anybody has solution??? Thanks.

Hey man, you have a Fake/tampered Rom
Take a look at this:
http://en.miui.com/thread-392159-1-1.html
For stable rom , needed about 3 decimal points. Not more than that
You need to use MIFLASH tool to flash the original rom. Make sure to unlock bootloader first (i think its already unlock thou).
Flashing guide:
http://en.miui.com/thread-565784-1-1.html
Thanks,I was thinking about using MIFLASH.
Yes, bootloader is (factory ??? ) unlocked.I buy it like that.
(why would seler temper with ROM? my Mido is chinese 2016101 and I live in Serbia/East Europe.couldn,t they just flash Global rom.I buy from them Redmi 4a for my wife, and it was OK.Updated fine to latest ROM.)
Didn't know about 3 decimal rom rule.

Xiaomi have no official retail stores yet (except at India thou) so they let those f*ck up resellers to buy their phones and do whatever they want to sell it.
If the reseller bought those phones directly from China with chinese miui rom , tendency it will modified to english with playstore installed.
Sorry for that lol ,
Now try miflash if it works :fingers-crossed:
MIFLASH did the trick. I'm now on 8.5.4.0.
How to know the bootloader is lock or unlock?
And is there any tutorial i can follow on how to install rom from fake to official?

To flash an official ROM (stable or developer, chinese or global) over an unofficial one, you need an unlock bootloader and follow this guide.
If you are using an unofficial ROM, like those fake MIUI ROMs (bad) or Xiaomi.eu ROMs (better than official), you have already an unlocked bootloader.

First Xiaomi Mi 9 official MIUI ROM is available for download!

The new flagship by Xiaomi, Mi 9 and its ‘lite’ version have been released earlier this week, and we saw a good move from Xiaomi by released the kernel source immediately after the launch event, but stock ROM took some time.
Mi 9 series has three devices, for now, the most-powerful flagship Mi 9 (codename: cepheus), the pretty Mi 9 Transparent Edition, and the first device with Snapdragon 712 in the world Mi 9 SE (codename: grus)
We, at Xiaomi Firmware Updater, was able to get the first official MIUI package for Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE, although it’s not available on MIUI China website yet!
Mi 9 MIUI version is V10.2.5.0, while Mi 9 SE one is V10.2.3.0, and both of them are running Android Pie (9.0) unlike some leaks reported earlier.
Download Mi 9 Official MIUI V10.2.5.0.PFACNXM Here
And as usual, the new devices will be added to Xiaomi Firmware Updater once the stable ROM becomes available publicly.

I noticed that MI9 appeared on Xiaomi.eu page.
Does this mean that this is global ROM ?

And it appears to be Global.
After an update its 10.2.12 Global.

Thanks in anticipation...

Hi all. I purchased a mi 9 last week from a Chinese seller in Canada. I dont know if its the global version, but I assume not since all the preloaded apps are Chinese. How do I check which version do I have? And are there instructions for switching to the global version? Thank you
Hi @AlexZanf
Would you mind running the Camera2 probe from the play store? I'm interested if it says max image is 3000x4000 or 6000x8000?
Thanks
Steve

That's funny, I downloaded miui_CEPHEUSGlobal_V10.2.3.0.PFAMIXM_e3aaed0507_9.0.zip and copied it to my downloaded_rom on the phone but when I go to Settings/About Phone/System Update and tap the 3 dots, I don't get the option "Choose Update Package".
I clicked on "Download Latest" and it downloaded and installed, but it's 10.2.15.0 as it was before I started. My model is the same as yours at M1902F1G.
I'm a bit confused. What does the EEA version mean?
Cheers

OK after a quick Google, I found out you need to tap 10 times on the MIU logo which then enabled the option.
I tried to install the above, and got an error message saying:
Can't verify update
Sorry, Flash older version not allowed.
So I'm in the same boat as you!
Cheers
