If you unbrand your phone, does that network unlock it? Sorry for the newbie question, but I genuinely don't know!

Nope. Just removes the branding and network provided bloatware.

As long as the firmware you want to flash is bootloader version 2. Look at the last five digits of the version. You're running 2ARF7. So you can run anything that also has 2 there. For instance, 2ARBG.

Go on sammobile and there is an unlock option you can unlock the phone and if you are selling it it will raise the value or you can put any sim in and use that carrier.

You can't use a code to unlock the 900p it's a sprint note. They do over the air unlock that's why I'm trying to see if there is a way around it through rooting.

We need carrier specific forums like the s8 and all previous Galaxies. I Wonder why no carrier specific forums for s9? It would for sure help with stuff being posted in the right places. I heard there was an ATT RC6, Where might one find that? Also need a U1 Unlocked section as well. At Least separate the exynos from the snapdragon since NOTHING is interchangeable. Two completely different phones.

I can see having forums for different model numbers, but from what I understand, all of the US carrier versions have the same model number, which means you can interchange the firmware. For instance, I'm running the ARC6 (TMobile) on my ATT device.
While I've had no luck on all of the other firmware out there, whether it's a Google Pay or Samsung Pay issue (I need both), it's nice to have options.

Yes, but you will be stuck on v2 bootloader. Once you go to ARC6, there is no going back.

OnePlus 7t pro McLaren 5g TMobile update 10.0.27!!

There is an update for 10.0.27 just saw and installed this morning! Go to system updates and check yours.
Here is a screenshot.
slightly puzzled, update downloaded/installed by itself overnight. good to know being unlocked doesn't affect updates.
Have you modded at all?
no
Unless you unlock the bootloader there won't be issues. I've unlocked Sim but not rooted so I get updates too. I don't see a need currently since there's no alternative ROM

Does not really matter to me to have Titanium any longer because the likelihood of phone complete malfunction is very low. And I use duckduckgo browser to block most ads. Most apps now are smart enough to fail if they detect adaway modified host file so on. I actually am glad I do not have to try and trick my phone so that Google Pay and other things work when they fail if rooted. I also am worried if I touch anything, the 5G will stop working. I really want to be able to get that signal.

Yeah - I got this phone to get band 71 as well, as my European S9+ doesn't either, so TMo coverage outside of large urban areas sucks on that phone.

I thought when you unlocked, it wiped, including a system file needed for updates. If that's not the case, would un-rooting allow updates ?

I was able get a temp unlock after 400+ hours of up time.
It's good until Sept.
Still no OEM in dev settings

No OEM unlock option in T-Mobile Samsung S9+?

I have a T-Mobile s9+ and for the life of me, I cannot get the OEM unlock button to show in Dev options. I've had my phone for over the 7 days, as I saw you need. I've even tried doing the "change the date manually and restart" trick and no luck.
Is there no option for the T-Mobile version of this phone and it's already OEM unlocked? Can I just go ahead and root my phone without issue? Or do I need to get that button before I can go ahead and root/install a new rom?
If you have the G965U, no you will not be able to unlock the boot loader.. My oppinon, is when all manufactures were done stealing ideas from dev's live here on XDA.. They decided they did not need them anymore and locked the phones down.

I mean the good thing about this method is that it doesn't unlock bootloader, so it doesn't trip knox. The bad thing about not unlocking bootloader is that you can't install custom kernels or recoveries.
