App is obscuring a permission request - Huawei Mate 10 Pro connecting to HiSuite - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
I hope that my thread is started in the right sub-forum. I recently bought a Huawei Mate 10 Pro (android 8.0) and immediately started looking for ways to flash a stock android rom (lineage, RR etc.). Because I haven't used an android phone since android 6.0 I had to look for all the instructions on how to install such ROM.
At first everything was going well, but I'm currently stuck on connecting my phone to my laptop (Asus n56vz). Everytime I try to connect it via Hisuite it says: "because an app is obscuring a permissions request, Settings can't verify your responses." I added a screenshot for clarification even though it's in Dutch:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

I already tried enabling USB debugging and different USB ports. Why is this pop up appearing and how can I make it go away haha. I hope you guys can help me out, thanks a lot!

- Go to Settings > Apps > Settings icon (at the bottom).
- Then Advanced > Special access > Draw over the other apps.
- At the top right, in the scrolling menu, choose "Show system processes".
- Select "Floating dock" and disable "Permit drawing over other apps".
please note that deactivating this option will make Facebook Messenger Chatheads to not work anymore. Therefore, you`ll need to activate it again after you use Suite to make Chatheads work again.

Thanks a lot, you really helped me in the right direction. Floating dock was not in the list, but I disabled 'permit drawing over other apps' for the app: Navbar and now it works again. Thanks again!

Hmm, strange. On my Mate 10 pro with stock rom, I have neither Floating Dock nor Navbar apps shown in the ¨Draw over other apps¨ list with ¨Show system process¨ selected... What else could be in the way?

Hi!
I had the same issue, then I uninstalled the Kaspersky Antivirus and I was able to click OK to confirm HiSuite HDB option. I would probably be able to only set it up in the antivirus app but removing it was quicker ;o))) Hope that would help anybody...
Cheers

Hi, sir! I also had the same problem today. I didn't have the floating dock or nav options available, so... I reset the preferences and disabled "Files" and it did work for me. Hope that helps!

Heyy guys
I had the same problem. Trying to give permission to HiSuite(my phone is Huawei p8 lite) the "Because an app is obscuring a permission request, Settings can't verify your response" popped up. I tried revoking permissions to draw over other apps to every single one of the apps, one by one, even system's apps and nothing worked.
Though, by closing all the other apps in app history worked like magic. Simple as that.. ^_^

On my phone with stock rom, I have Floating Dock but have not Navbar app shown in the 'Draw over other apps' list with 'Show system process' selected.

For me and my Mediapad M5 SHT-W09 (C567) it was FLOATING NAV ****.

Kyoraapp v1.2

Hey guys, I'm sure you already know Hillbeast's Kyorarom. Well, in that case you must have heard of Kyoraapp too. But just in case you haven't p), Kyoraapp is an app I specially designed to manage Kyorarom's specific features, like Kyoralock and Kyoratweaks.
Main Menu:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
You have two buttons: Kyoralock and Kyoratweaks. But, if you press menu button, you can access Preferences menu from there, in which you'll see:
If you select "Use service?", a service for Kyoralock will be started in background that will execute applock for each app on the list every XX minutes (depending on what's in "time between executions").
Note: Each time you open Kyoralock, applock will be executed only once if the service is disabled.
Kyoralock:
This is a script designed by Hillbeast that "locks" an app into memory, so that the app will be more responsive.
In the TextBox, you can write an apps package name, and press "Add App" to add that package to the applock list, or just push "Execute", that will execute applock on that app only once without adding it to the list.
Or if you want "the easy way", you can press the "List" button right next to the textbox. That will launch a new activity that will recollect all the apps installed on the phone, and put them in a list. There, you select whichever apps you want, and then press "Done". That will automatically add the selected apps to the list.
Kyoratweaks:
In Kyorarom v0.5, a new feature was implemented: Kyoratweaks. This allows the user to enabled or disable some tweaks included in Kyorarom.
If you have any doubts, suggestions, or whatever you want to say, just leave a comment!

Nice app, gob job !
i don't understand Kyoratweaks. If this make phone faster why someone wants to have disabled this options? These tweaks should be enebled by default.
Moikop, I have some code somewhere on my pc which translates the com.android.launcher or something like that, to the actual app name.
Also, I take it's a listview you're using? I also have some code lying around where you can change the looks of it (custom listview adapter), this way you could make it like:
icon | name
Contact me if you're interested in the code (;

I'm interested in the code to "translate" the package name into the app's name. I know a way how to do it, but.. let's just say that, that way the app would be slow as hell. So if the code is good, please send it to me by pm
About the listview.. yes, I know about custom adapters. But I decided not to use them because I want to keep the UI as simple, fast and intuitive as possible
Thanks Dympy.

Hello Hillbeast,
Thanks for sharing the ROM with us.
Does this support USB tethering? and how about GPS fix? Couldn't find any thing related to it, hence the query.

Issue with keeping Apps running in background - Mate10pro

Hi all,
I'm loving my mate10pro but i just can't seem to get utility apps to keep running in the background, even if I went into the battery app and gave permission for Auto-launch, Secondary Launch, and Run in background.
I also went into app settings and assigned ignore battery optimization.
- Nike Run's recording stops right when the screen turns off.. rendering it useless
- Proximity Action to turn on screen only works when the screen first turns off... If I waited maybe around 10mins and try to use it, it won't work
- Whoscall popup doesnt work... when I get a phone call I have to open the app manually for it to show me whos calling
- Fingerprint gesture also only works when I have the app opened, but stops working shortly after I exit the app (even if its still in recent app)
Is there any other settings I'm missing?
Thanks!
Having a similar experience with GPS reporting apps running in the background. Google Maps Timeline feature is also rendered useless with infrequent (if at all) and inaccurate GPS location reportings.
If anybody have any solution please post! we have done battery optimisation and always run in background for all apps.
Probably the same issue as the thread below.

If you're rooted, use titanium to freeze the system app "Power Genius" -- that's fixed almost all of my background running apps on my Mate 10 (normal, not pro). Not a noticeable decline in battery life either. One or two apps also seem to benefit from being made system apps.

Hello !
I don't know if it's power genius (freeze) or because i've move the application in system but i don't have any issue with the application anymore.
So it's work ! Try it!
I use those settings and it works perfect.
Try:
Settings -> Applications and Notifications -> Applications -> Settings (at the bottom) -> Special access -> Ignore optimization
The exact wording might be different, I'm not running in English.

Sorry, but I see that some other apps, such as Google Play Music, Zing MP3...still play music in background normally without doing that.
I wonder how they can pass this issue? Can we fix that by fixing the app?

Settings - Battery - App launch - (+3 dots - Manage manually).
Find this thread via google
You can also get free of power genie even without root simply using adb.
All you need is two commands:
adb shell
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.huawei.powergenie
Then simple restart your device

[APP][DEV] K-9 Mail for Wear OS (standalone)

Official K-9 Mail (or basically any other email clients) doesn't run on Wear OS because of missing WebView component. This modification of K-9 replaces WebView with TextView (among few other tweaks) that makes it usable on Wear OS (fetch messages, navigate folders, read & send mail).
There's Mail client from appfour but it requires phone companion app and doesn't work "standalone". Having an option to occasionally check emails from watch (with cellular module) is the primary reason for this modification (and leaving phone powered off or at home).

It's still rough around the edges (some features may crash/not work or be hard to reach) but this is the first version and it allows me to read emails (tested with Gmail, was able to send email as well; on Huawei Watch 2). Newsletters obviously won't work as only the text part of emails is rendered.
Let me know what you think. I do not plan on any major UI rework but I can fix thing or two (if there are some fellow watch only users ).
TIP: Consider using "adb shell input text" for entering complex strings during account setup.
What is the .patch file for?
Thanks! How do you apply the patch and also how can I add more then one email account?
How do I install it?
I've just uploaded v2 which improves few things:
Extra padding at the bottom when reading email
Full screen keybord for entering email address
Easier pull to refresh
Hide unsupported search
Move (dangerous) delete action from bar to menu

Thank you, it would be great if those with crowns (scroll wheel) on the side of our watches could use it when reading an email. It currently works when looking at the inbox but not reading the email it self. Anyway to implement this?
Regardless thanks for taking the time to do this.
UPDATE: Actually whats weird is if I open a notification and read the email the crown works. If I go to an email through the app it does not. Oh well I can live with reading from tapping on the notification which is what I do most the time anyways.
Anyone know of a way to import k-9 mail settings to the watch?
I exported them from my phone and transferred it to my watch but when I hit import settings on the watch it says there is "no application can handle this process"

Now I know that Wear OS is also missing the component (chooser) for selecting/opening files. It should be possible to replace that with 3rd party library (something like https://github.com/spacecowboy/NoNonsense-FilePicker). IMHO this is a niche feature so I won't be fixing that any time soon.

I thought about that but I still think that this app (and mainly its interface) is too much for people coming from Play Store (and expecting nice UI). Plus K-9 itself is still missing support for runtime permissions which means it's currently not publishable on the Play Store (without some work, though there are some pull requests on github).
Whoa!
I'm K-9's original creator, though I haven't been involved in the project in a while.
I just wanted to stop by to say that this is awesome. Nicely done.

Great to hear directly from you, Jesse. K-9 running on Wear OS is mostly unchanged from its latest upstream, just few lines changes here and there (one patched library takes most of the patch - to fix placing of software keyboard). It wouldn't be possible without you and K-9 - thank you for that. :good:

[UMIDIGI F1] Android P customizations, dark theme, gesture navigation

The Umidigi F1 is supposed to come with stock Android P; however, it seems that some features have been removed or disabled.
I can't find how to enable the Android P Dark Theme.
I can't figure out how to enable full screen gesture navigation or how to swap the back and recents buttons in the navbar.
I'm sure there are other things as well.
Can I use adb to enable those settings?
Is there some other way to re-enable these basic Android P features?
Swapping the back and recents buttons are in the Smart Assistant option in Settings. There you can also find the Umidigi version of navigation gestures.
As for Dark Theme, I have no idea, myself. The option's for sure not there by default.
I'm hopeful that someone will develop some custom roms for it, myself. The stock rom is not as smooth as I know vanilla Android is, and you can't turn on the battery % on the notification bar. Screen size is not adjustable, either.

I've randomly experienced a kind of dark mode in the notifications and volume control but can't consistently replicate it. It seems to be triggered by a dark wall paper. I have a dark wall paper and have dark volume control, but pull down notifications/menu are still white.
Download a cool little app called Powershade from the store. You can style your notifications/menu to whatever you like. You'll need to enable Powershade in Duraspeed to prevent it being stopped.
The stock Pie pill gesture isn't there, only 'slippy' gestures which constantly kick you back the home screen when typing (aka Sloppy gestures). This could easily be fixed by reducing the active area to one pixel, it currently sits over the space bar.
That, along with:
- Not supporting launchers
- Issues with photos being completely messed up (masses of low resolution duplicates)
- Constantly backward facing GPS indicator
- Unable to send images via whatsapp
- Power and earphones plugged in creates unbearable interference
...have made this phone unusable for me. Updates are too slow to depend on them and have so far just caused even more issues. Its such a shame, it could have been a great value for money phone, but turned out to be too good to be true.
I'm returning mine to Amazon. For a few pounds more I can get something I'm not constantly battling with.
Took this from an Umidigi forum, it works
:As for quickstep issue, all you guys have to do is to remove the package and it'll work flawlessly, even with custom launchers(I'm using Nova).
This is only temporarily until you factory reset OR OTA update the device.
1) Download minimal adb fastboot package from here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754459552
2) Go to Settings > System > About Phone and tap on "build number" about 8 times. You should see a message saying: "You are a developer now"
3) Back to the previous menu and you should see now a new item called "Developer options", go there, find and enable "USB debugging".
4) Now connect the phone to the PC via USB and select "Transfer files" on the phone.
5) Open a command line and go to the directory you extracted the adb tools to.
6) Run the command "adb devices", your device should shown. If not, you need to check the drivers.
7) Run "adb shell"
8) Run "pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.launcher3". It should show "success".
9) Reboot the device and you will be able to multitask until either factory reset OR update.
I just got two of these yesterday. Getting mine setup this morning. I have no problem with the phone charging through USB and playing music out my headphones- the audio is perfectly clear. I also installed whatsapp and had no problems sending a photo to a friend, and she got it. I see my gps on google maps just fine and it seems to work as intended. I've not tried any other launchers, yet, but I REALLY like this phone for the price point. Sad there isn't more activity on here from folks who have them.

That would be pretty nice to have, but I think phones that support DT2W have to have hardware support for sensing the taps while off like most LG and HTC phones have. I'm using Glimpse notifications to get the screen wake for notifications like every phone should already have stock Yes, even though it's not AMOLED, it's got a 5150 mah battery FFS! 5 seconds of screen on a few times a day won't cost anything noticeable. And it hasn't either for 2 weeks I've been using it.
I too wonder if they'll ever get any kind of theming going though. That would sure be nice!
Umidigi f1 PLAY
Download SwiftKey keyboard. it allows u to move the keyboard up. basically fixing the sloppy slippery .

FYI: Change the sound played when charger plugged in

I have used the following to change the sound that is played when the charger is plugged in.
Code:
settings put global wireless_charging_started_sounds "/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3";
settings put global charging_started_sound "/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3";
I do the above via a shell, it can also be done via ADB.
@DiamondJohn
Thanks for your advice, has worked excellently on Pixel 4a.
Is it possible via a command to turn off the screen by double clicking on the status bar? My former smartphone Motorola X Play from 2015 had this feature and I miss it.

I use a VERY customize-able launcher. Its called Lightning Launcher, its a paid app but the default setup when you get it is crap. I have used it since Gingerbread and never looked back. BUT you can really do whatever your want. Including adding code. And rotating widgets and/or icons and stretching them etc etc etc
I have put gestures (ie associate code/scripts) which gestures on widgets/hidden hotspots. So, for example, if I click the left hand side of one wide widget, it acts normally and opens the weather details. However, if I click the right side, I run a script that hibernates select apps (basically all ) and then TURNS THE SCREEN OFF. I use this method instead of tapping my power button. Its easier as its on the screen I am using when I want to turn it off,and on a previous phone (Nexus 5) thepower button became notorious for failing on most.
Attached are the the scripts and the config file where I add/edit which apps to hibernate. It also has an include to renice the live wallpaper to the background
I also have it where I swipe up on another widget and it turns AOD on and swipe down turns it off. VERY handy being able to switch it on temporarily when I need to be somewhere on time and want too leave it to the last minute and know how long I got till I have to get moving.

I hate posting screen shots of my home screen, as the wallpaper is a live wall paper of the solar system, and its beautiful! as it flys between and orbits planets and sees the earth and its orbiting moon. A static image really does it injustice.
PS: My phone is also a Pixel 4A (non 5g)
Is there a certain command that can bebused in the same way to change Lock and Unlock sounds as well as touch sound? Thanks

I have not tested it, but I ran a report on all settings using the app TeMeFI and filtered it down to ones that have the word "sound" in it, and this gave the following list:
Code:
File: * LAST UNSAVED RESULTS * SEP=============================;
Include: sound
charging_sounds_enabled=1
sync_parent_sounds=0
lockscreen_sounds_enabled=1
notification_sound=content://[email protected]/external/audio/media/5028
notification_sound_set=1
sound_effects_enabled=1
car_dock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Dock.ogg
car_undock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Undock.ogg
charging_started_sound=/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3
desk_dock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Dock.ogg
desk_undock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Undock.ogg
dock_sounds_enabled=0
dock_sounds_enabled_when_accessbility=0
lock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Lock.ogg
low_battery_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/LowBattery.ogg
low_battery_sound_timeout=0
max_sound_trigger_detection_service_ops_per_day=1000
power_sounds_enabled=1
sound_trigger_detection_service_op_timeout=15000
trusted_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Trusted.ogg
unlock_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/Unlock.ogg
wireless_charging_started_sound=/product/media/audio/ui/ChargingStarted.ogg
wireless_charging_started_sounds=/storage/emulated/0/Notifications/Road Runner - Meep Meep.mp3
So I would say yes. (see lock_sound & unlock_sound). Touch sound may require a magisk module.

So I would say yes. (see lock_sound & unlock_sound). Touch sound may require a magisk module.

Nice! Thanks! I will try this. The touch sound is actually named Effect.tick.ogg I believe but still should be possible, thanks for the help!

What I am saying, it does not appear to be in the "settings", irrelevant of what its called. As I said, it will be possible using Magisk, I just did not find it in settings.

That's awesome! Do you think it would work the same for all Android phones or is it only for stock Android on Pixels? Asking since Samsung use their own launcher with themed system sounds.
Thanks!

I have changed to a Custom A11 Rom (Bliss), and it works. This ROM covers multiple devices.
Thank you! Does this method need root access?

I do it in a boot script, which has root, and everything i test I also default to running as root. Your going to need to test it yourself.
So Boys, how to changing it,I'm locking for the default charging sound, I using Android 11, and not able to know which program to use, also tried some cmd apps from app store, I wanna try to change, to make my own sound at the charging, I Also used Battery Sound Notification ( Device Dooge S97Pro)
