I just switched from a ATT prepaid user into a postpaid one yesterday,wondering my phone can receive data then.
But unfortunately,it doesnt!!!:crying::crying::crying: i have tried many versions of APN settings but none of them works.
I think there is ATT user whose phone work perfect on it! SO plz HELP me you guys!
BTW the ROM i am using is ViperRez 1.0.1. my BASEBAND is 2.22.10.0801r,2.22.10.0803r.

Yep, at&t is a no go on data, t-mobile works from what I have heard, I had data on at&t go hone for 5 seconds then they hit me with a block on a iPhone.
At&t bought them.

yes T-mobile has data but only edge unless your in one of their "4g" areas which is really 3g plus. Our phone supports the 1900Mhz band it uses.

Works fine here. Use the cell network to authenticate with Verizon. This is the same problem My Verizon has where it won't work over WiFi.

I've had a problem before where I had weak signal strength and it didn't work. But it's working fine on stock and on rooted. Just use it for the first time with decent 3g or 4G strength.

Still get "Need 2GB Data Plan" error. I have full 4G pretty much everywhere I go in metro Detroit. It's just Fuched!!! Really makes me mad
I called Verizon and the first stupid ass I spoke with asked what cable TV provider I was using. She indicates NFL mobile doesn't work with Uverse I said huh???? You obviously don't have a clue. She goes on to tell me that the phone is brand new and that's what she learned :banghead:
Anyways, the matter was escalated and they will contact me when resolved.

Are you rooted? On the S3 we had to delete the Verizonlogin.apk, and reinstall from play store then it worked like a charm. Give it a shoot see if it works.

Any one knows if rooting and flashing roms will mess the service on a AT&T Mega(SGH-I527) flashed on Straight Talk?. if not, what rom would be the best one?.

there are no roms on the at&t version yet
The phone is not flashed to straight talk, it is neither unlocked. Your phone is most likely an AT&T version and straight talk uses AT&T towers so the phone will automatically run their network, no flashing networks.
To answer your question rooting your phone will be like rooting a regular AT&T phone as you have nothing flashed on it.

It is unlocked. I paid for the code. I can switch between the att and tmobile sim cards

correct.. and Straight Talk, Walmart Family, Net 10 etc sim cards....
so.. no flashing neccessary...
only different APN settings needed.
Hopefully your Mega will automatically find the correct APN settings of the particular sim card that you put in before boot up..
If it doesn't work for any particular sim, then you'll have to find the APN settings and create one that will work with any given sim

I always thought I was invincible to the cap because I had a iPhone 4 and the speed always seemed the same. Well I got my galaxy mega on monday and by wednesday I was at 4.1gb. It was because I had downloaded Asphalt 8 and a few more games using the incredibly surprisingly fast straight talk 4g. Well then my internet completely disappeared. I know straight talk had nothing to do with this. But my apn settings deleted itself. I don't know why haha. But anyway I called straight talk saying I couldn't find the correct apn setting they helped me get the correct one and then I asked her if she thought if I used to much it would go over ( I didn't want to say I went over) She then said oh wail actually you already have seemed to exceed the cap. She said I should experience slower data. She then proceeded to tell me that once the 2.5 gb cap is passed that the internet slows down to 2g? I asked her if it was edge and she said no 2g.
I plan on switching to simple mobile within the next two days.

On what towers do the service runs?
Hey people. I'm running a Verizon fascinate sch-i500 on ST... Currently using SLIM ROM. 4.2.2. I use podkicker app a lot to d/l and listen. Get throttled down to 2G speeds after about 10 days into billi g cycle. Sucks bit anyone have any suggestions as to how to "get around" this ?

Just thought I would waste some space and let everyone know that I'm now a proud owner of a T-Mobile S5 coming from a locked down AT&T S5. I had the AT&T S5 and could NOT stand being locked down. I ended up returning it for an M8 simply because it wasn't locked down. I had the M8 for 5 days and I just didn't like it. I traded the M8 for my TMO S5 and it was the best phone trade I have ever done. I have owned every Samsung phone and will continue to own nothing but Samsung from this day forward......only TMO's of course or at least until they lock theirs down too.
Only issue I ran into was provisioning my SIMS for LTE to work on AT&T network. These AT&T phone Reps are either stupid or act stupid. They probably just act stupid so they want have to tell you the truth when provisioning SIMS because they don't want other carrier phones on their network. Anyway, I talked with 3 different reps and got nowhere with provisioning my SIMS. Long story short, I finally got them to provision my SIMS correctly by telling them my phone went bad and that my wife was nice enough to let me use her AT&T S5. So they ended up provisioning it by using her IMEI#. Now I'm all good to go and VERY HAPPY to be the proud owner of a TMO S5.
Sorry for wasting space, but man this is a happy day for me and I just had to share it.

This is honestly the best combo. Tmobile phone that runs on att. I just want tmobile to fix their data speeds (non LTE) and I'll be extremely happy.

I would have been good to go on my SIM, but I was coming from the M8 which had nano sim or whatever the very small one is called. I had to go in the store and get a new one and that's when I got screwed. The store rep scanned my T-Mobile S5 and that's when the fun started.....them SOB's.

I googled it and it gave me a link to xda. Theres a flashable zip and theres the apk. Make sure to follow the instructions

My signal is awesome. Actually my signal seems to be better than my wife's AT&T S5. Not sure if it's from some possible tweak I did or what, but I'm loving it.

That's because the TMO S5 will shows 5 bars for a -109dbm signal. A good LTE signal is anywhere from -70dbm to -90dbm.
I am using a t-mobile s5 on ATT..I have used t-mobile phones since I bought the note3.
There are several variations on apn settings that I have used..some work better than others..but if you Google Best or fastest ATT apn settings you will find several similar options. I found that trying the various settings was the best way to find what worked best for me.
After flashing any rom it is one of the things you will have to do to set up your phone.
Just thought I would share..hope it helps. You don't need ATT to provision your phone. Just set up your apn.

You do have to get if provisioned. I took my TMO into the store to get a SIMS and they scanned my phone IMEI and blocked LTE......no matter what APN I used. Had to call in and give them a different IMEI and my SIMS number. After that all is good. If I wasn't coming from the M8 which has a nano SIM, I could have just swapped SIMS and been good to go.

That is news to me..I aways just switched Sim cards and I was good to go. I did have to unlock the s5 so I could use it on ATT. .But other than that and adding my APNS, that's all I had to do...not sure I understand why yours was different but it really doesn't matter. Fact is its working for you, that is all that really matters. ..anyway..good luck..

That nano SIM would have worked. Just been little smaller in phone. Reason I say this was I fixed up fellow with sg3 coming from a iPhone5s . After few weeks he finally went in to get Nano SIM swapped out.

Yeah my nano from my M8 worked in my S5, but just a little tricky getting it to fit just right. Ran it for a while and every time I bumped my phone I would have to re-seat the SIM. Just decided to swap it out for that warm and fuzzy lol.
Just wondering if FoxFi is working for you unlimited users, like myself and my g/f, since I have no doubt it will be a VERY long time, if at all root is achieved, especially with the news about root tripping knox and bricking the phone.
I can use foxfi the same way as I did with the note 4. Will still require you to have a passworded lock screen and install a certificate.

All I did was download from the play store and let it create the certificate to set up a VPN or something like that.

Yes I'm on vzw. Set up a passworded lock screen and let the application install a certificate. You must use the foxfi app to actually launch the WiFi tethering.
Also working fine for us. My husband has a Edge+ and I'm Note 5.
I downloaded TDM and it keeps it unlocked at home & in the car.
Also, just followed the steps given by the app. Not much to do, just agree to install VPN, once - first time, then it asks to open stock Hotspot app and turn it on.
