Best gaming rom+kernel suggestions anyone? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

What's the best gaming rom+kernel could you suggest? I'm currently using Omnirom+Electrablue but I'm not really satisfied with the performance when it comes to gaming

Try stormguard. It's an over locked kernel. But then also don't expect much from a 2 year old mid Ranger chip

Pixerl Experience and Stormguard worked fine for me. But im on stock again cause of the camera capabilites

I want to post a thread regarding display kernal.....
But when click on send ....I doesn't work please help:crying:

I wonder if changing the DPI and making the screen 720p will help with better gaming performance. I often did this with my Moto X Style and it helped a little bit. My only worry is that apps won't display properly. Probably overkill but still worth it if you play a lot of online games and want better FPS/battery life.

I am currently using Crdroid rom. Latest build just fixed the tristate keys and gestures and HDR issue. On earlier build, rom was stable, but currently i am experiencing data bug. Mobile data is not stable. I have to restart the device every time to enable data.

Yes. I have tested it. HDR video everything is working. Just data bug. I hope developers fix it soon.
CrDroid is even good, but I prefer Xperience over its stability and could be a perfect daily driver with everything that u want are working.
Cyanogenmod 14.1 by ashwin007 works really well. HDR isn't working yet and I sometimes have to reboot to turn on mobile data, but overall, it's pretty fanastic.
Resurrection Remix 5.8.0 - Most stable out of all with many features, mostly good battery back-up without any modification to kernel. You can give a try.
Anyway, i'm pretty satisfied with the Cypheros (aoscp). Close to Aosp.

Install substratum theme engine from play store and apply your favourite theme. I am using substratum domination theme. It's like Dark theme on oxygen os.

I've tested too, it has a lot of bugs and it's smooth until you open 3 apps.
Hi there,
I recommend using Slimsaber 4.4.4 (Kitkat). You can use the latest greekdragon build which has Isorec (Isolated recovery support required for TWRP) in-built with the kernel. It is one of the most stable AOSP ROMs I've tested and battery life is excellent.

Well, our device is old and has low specifications, so it doesn't support great multi tasking, for example: when you are using Facebook and messenger pop up at the same time, it lags very much, after all, it's an old phone, but it's still my favorite

[Q] Nitrogen vs Resurrection Remix - Which is better for RN3-Kenzo

I am currently on RR 5.8.3 23rd April build. It is working fine but i feel battery backup is less than MIUI, especially xiaomi.eu.
I have heard that battery backup and Camera are better in Nitrogen but customizations are better in RR. Also, as per my experiance RR has proven to be more stable than Nitrogen, although I used Nitrogen a long time ago. Can anyone suggest which one one of these is better for kenzo?
I am trying to avoid MIUI as it is too much buggy, even the stable ROMs.

After long time on NOS I tried AOSP Extended with umang kernel and now it is my favorite rom. Try it, you don't regret it

There's no doubt, A ROM is not good only if it's battery backup is good. If I need a phone only for battery backup, I would go for Nokia 1100.
Only reason im backing off from NOS nd LOS is coz of their frequent updates... Monthly updates are fine with patches...
Btw im using pure nexus with stock kernel... Pretty good battery backup nd performance too...

It's the default theme that comes with Nitrogen OS. If you're talking about the last screenshot, it is EX Kernel Manager app running on dark theme.

any ROM with good battery backup and camera working?

Hi guys! Currently I am using AOKP ROM on my le max 2. Faced only two bugs yet (VOLTE AND BATTERY LIFE). So, is there any ROM in which you found good battery backup and working camera?

I assume the problems your having are on N ROMs? Have you tried to go back to M ? Nougat ROMs look great, but the battery life and camera are not perfect unless you tweak it a ton.

Camera is a problem with every ROM. You can get better battery life with aurel's slimEUI. But EUI apps are unstable.

Please seem to have much less camera problem with EUI base ROMs.
I have used Couco92 EUI ROM and no camera problem as of now.

Camera was out of focus and made clicking noise with RR base ROMs.

Not everyone on this forum is a native speaker and people sometimes don't translate things 100% correctly. No big deal in my opinion.
