Wifi problem on new March update - Sony Xperia XZ1 Questions & Answers

Hello everybody, Today I've found small problem about wifi! First, I connected to wifi after I used it few hours my device can't use wifi(still connected but no data)for 20 seconds and came back to normal ?(I checked my wifi by used my other phone in same time the problem shown up so not router issue) I just wanna ask that have you guys face this after March update?

Just had a couple of issues, but atm working fine. We need more time to test it and more people experiencing same issue.

on my side when it started having problems with wifi, it will not recover, and would eventually disconnect itself from the WiFi. Manually connecting back to it will always fail. However it would be back to normal after a reboot. Not sure if the update screwed up the system. Would do a clean reinstallation when 8.1 update is deployed.

My wifi problems started with a previous update, but after this march update its even worse and nearly makes my phone unusable. It disconnects every 2 minutes or so and then can't connect back, unacceptable bug for a flagship. It's strange that Sony haven't fixed this yet and I hope they'll sort it out soon.

So far I'm not experiencing this issue.

Wifi not turning on as well as other problems. Please help!

I don't know if it has been asked before but I've got a problem with the WiFi on my A101IT.
Problems:
Sometimes when I turn it on when it has been off it either goes into boot loop for no apparent reason OR just randomly freezes at the boot screen. When it doesn't act up and I finally get on and my home screen comes up and I look for my active Wifi signal.... it's not there?! When I go to try to manually connect to my Wifi in the Settings it gives me some b.s. "Error" reading! When I try to disconnect and reconnect my Wifi connection on my device it still continues to read "Turning on.... Error." Then, if I feel like messing with it, I'll go through about 5-10 tries of turning my A101IT off and back on to get my Wifi signal on my device to connect as it should.
Other side notes:
I have a Linksys WRTP54G VoIP router that is configured to Wireless G network. Never really had any device connection problems until a few weeks ago.... it just all-of-a-sudden started doing this on its own. I also bought my A101IT off eBay from someone who bought it as New and took very good care of it and only used it like 6 times in 1 month. Beside that, I never uninstalled/deleted any file/.apk I wasn't supposed to. (I say I never uninstalled/deleted anything because I have permanent root access via Chulri's Method for FW 2.3.20).
Any solutions?? Please help!
UPDATE: Archos' [email protected]$$ Customer Support representative said to "upgrade firmware and that should fix the problem." Assumptions, assumptions..... you know what they say?! Anyway, I really don't want to upgrade my FW to 2.3.26 due to known Wifi issues still occurring because as I have found... it seems to be that it is a similar hardware issue like Microsoft's Ring of Death for their XBOX 360 Base, Premium, Elite, AND Slim version gaming systems. I may be wrong but I believe it's a NIC issue where the NIC is not fully soldered on and/or the heat from the A101IT's battery cooks the connection of the NIC on the motherboard of the device to where it can only be turned on at random after about 6 months or more. That's my idea...
try to use Wifi manager to control the Wifi again. https://market.android.com/details?id=org.kman.WifiManager&hl=en
It solved my wifi problem on UrukDroid.
And if u want u can get an older version that has the widget to switch for free.
(Although as it's old it might have bugs that are fixed by now)
= your choice

Bootloop after Wi-Fi signal drops

I was wondering if one of you folks can help me out with a problem that my Flyer has now for a couple of weeks.
It started when my Wi-Fi Flyer started a bootloop after dropping the Wi-Fi signal. While sometimes my signal dropped before, I just rebooted my router to fix the problem.
This happened again 3 weeks ago while my Flyer was completely stock on Gingerbread, just the way I bought it. The normal procedure, did not help this time and I managed to boot in recovery, with no result. After a factory restore and install everything again it seemed to work fine for quite a while.
Then I upgraded to Honeycomb following the Globatron method, hoping that whatever the problem caused, was solved.
Just today after 2 weeks of using Honeycomb, the problem was back. After my Wi-Fi drops, it seems that my Flyer can not reconnect to my network again. Instead of this it boots again, but can not make a connection. As soon as the Flyer starts scanning for networks, it boots again.
While I am still a noob on this kind of stuff, I decided to ask the experts

Since I still not know what caused the problem, i found the solution. It seems that it just happens when the fastboot option in the settings is disabled. Not experiencing any problems so far with fastbootoption enabled

[Q] Wifi issues since ATT 4.5.141 update

I can't be the only one whose wifi has been acting up since the OTA update. I don't have an unlocked, flashed, etc. phone, just the official updates since I bought my Atrix last March. My wifi now periodically disconnects for a few seconds even if it was just fully connected. Very annoying while using apps, loading web pages, etc. Anyone else experiencing this?
I have had the same issue with wifi disconnecting at random times for a few seconds and then reconnecting. Mine is unlocked but I have not rooted since updating to 4.5.141.
I also had the issue since upgrading the OTA 4.5.141 update except after dropping a few times the wifi refused to pick up any networks at all and the bluetooth stopped working PERIOD!! It just so happens that I ended up having to replace one of the flex cables this morning since I couldn't hear any calls after my son got to the phone. I happened to have a water damaged atrix so i took the cable from that only expecting the call hearing issue to go away but immediately on boot to my surprise it said wireless networks available. I went on to check and sure enough it was now detecting networks and the bluetooth now turns on. Here's what happened initially maybe it will help any one else.
I constantly got the annoying OTA update available so after about 5 hours of being bothered by it I allowed it to download. I was running rooted with unlocked boot loader so I moved the boot patches found in the update file and did the update from CWM recovery (no info was available on xda at the time to guide me). Thought the update failed since it said something about the update~script seeing as I removed some entries from it. I rebooted to find it was on 4.5.141, wifi worked and so did bluetooth but then.....random restart. So upon reboot I noticed my WiFi didn't connect automatically so I checked only to find "Error" however bluetooth still worked....random restart again only to find none now worked. Tried different Roms, kernels, radios.....nothing worked. I contacted Motorola support who then referred me to Level 2 support which I never bothered calling. Though I read in other places about other android phones that it's a possibly hardware issue it never occurred to me seeing that my issue started happening AFTER the update. So I guess don't rule out the possibility of the update screwing up hardware (I guess...I know nothing of phones but that's what happened with me).
Update: I turned the bluetooth and WiFi on simultaneously and now the problem of WiFi dropping has re-occurred . I put in my MicroSD card and now it's no longer detecting networks or turning on bluetooth once again. Maybe a dev could shed some light on this.
I think there are issues with the 37P radio which was flashed along with the update. If you are unlocked you can of course flash back to the 36P radio to verify.
I am currently back on .30P radio but I have already tried .36P and .37P with no luck. Maybe something from OTA update messed with something that doesn't get flashed?
WiFi dropping out
Same problem. Wifi drops out very 10-30 minutes just for a few seconds then reconnects. Before the update Wifi would stay connected for days without any issues. I am rooted only. I have the 37p radio. If anyone tried to go back to the 36p and it works could you please post instructions?
thanks.
PS i havent tried the bluetooth function yet.

I'd love to know where.
No progress yet. I did post on the motorola forum but no suggestions yet. Wifi still dropping.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Motorola's response to me is to send the phone in for repair and be without my phone for 5-7days..
I think not...
motorola thread
here is the thread on the motorola forum:

Thanks I'll be adding my complaints. Really surprised more people aren't seeing this issue on here. My wifi worked perfectly before the update and started this mess literally within minutes of downloading it. It makes me doubt that I'll be able to wait until ice cream sandwich before biting the bullet and getting a new phone.
My wifi keeps dropping when im at home, but i havent noticed it do it at work, which is really odd. Worked fine before the update.
The last reply in that thread on the motorola forums suggested changing the DHCP lease time on my router from forever to 24 hours and so far (15 minutes) I haven't had one disconnect. Longest I've gone since the update so hopefully this will solve the issue. *fingers crossed*
could be your wireless router's DHCP lease time setting of forever (change to something less)...worth a try.
edit: double post of what Tre3180 ...some more info in the xda link
Perhaps the issue was going on from before the update but just became MUCH more pronounced after. I also have a Belkin router, for what it's worth.

Not likely. Most likely a bug introduced in the 2.3.6 build that we have. A lease time of forever = 0xffffffff = -1. Likely some new code treats this as "hey lease time has run out, go reconnect!!" instead of keep the connection.

[Q] wifi connectivity issues after JB update

Hey guys, i'm Elias and this is my first post here.
i got my galaxy S3 for a while now and have been waiting to update to jellybean anxiously.
i finally got the update last Thursday, and i must say i was amazed.
Sunday night, 4 days after i updated to jellybean, I've had a problem with maintaining wifi connectivity through my S3. This means that whenever i connect it to wifi, it stays connected for about 15 minutes, then automatically stops without giving me a sign whatsoever(the wifi logo is still showing and it has full connectivity bars) although i never encountered this problem before. i checked my connection through my laptop and other phones in my house, it was stable. i reseted the router, nothing. i already have wifi power saver mode off so i tried putting it back on and it didn't work, so i put it back off.
i tried a factory reset, it worked fine for about 30 mins until i finished re-downloading most of my apps, then the problem persisted.
The only solution is that i should turn wifi off on my phone then back on, and it's frustrating to do that every 15 mins!
i really need to know if i'm the only one experiencing this because it's really getting on my nerves, and i need help from anyone.
Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same problem, but with custom JB ROMs. This is only relevant if you're phone is rooted, but I resolved it by:
- Wiping/factory reseting the phone
- Wiping the cache partition
- Wiping the Dalvik cache
- Re-installing the JB ROM
- Wiping the cache partition
- Wiping the Dalvik cache

LG G3 WiFi Troubleshooting

Hey Guys
I have some questions related to my 3 year old LG G3 (32gig Version), which acts funny within the last few weeks...
First of all, my phone is not rooted (I use Android 5) and I have installed a new battery like 3 months ago.
So now to the problems:
My Phone will only very rarely connect to any WiFi I normally use. Even if I try to manually connect and/or forget the network and reenter the codeword, it won't connect 9 from 10 times. It says connecting.... and then saved.
So normally, I then turn of and on WiFi on the Phone, reboot the router, reboot the phone and eventually it's going to work, but it may take 10 to 15 times.... Does anyone know, what might be the problem?
Next, if I reboot my phone, sometimes it will not recognize my Sim-Card, even though it's always inserted. Here too, I reboot my phone several times, untill it recognizes the card again. But if it does, it always changes my phone language from English to German (well, thats not a big issue for me, just wanted to list it aswell...)
And the last problem, which is also wlan related: For 2 weeks now, I'm no longer able to find the phone-hotspot on my Laptop. It worked without problem before, but now, I can't even find it in the Networks list from my Laptop.... I fear, that this might be related to my phone not connecting to WiFi Networks, alltough this works at least some times and my phone sees all the networks....
So what you think? Is there still hope for my phone or do I have to get a new one? Would be a shame, cause I really like it otherwise...
Thanks a lot for your help
Greets Clara
same problem here.
Were you able to find a fix? Its a hardware issue, I think
