Bluetooth headphones with aptx - Samsung Galaxy S9 Accessories

Got these anker headphones
surprisingly good! good distance. good sound. small and light. has aptX and up to 7 hours of play time. blocks out a good amount of outside noise too. and it's currently on sale with coupon LGVDRPV3

The one thing I'd advise against, and I have the Aukey EP-B40 buds, which are basically the same with aptX, BT4.1 and rated 8 hrs playtime, is that the Anker buds might be too short. That is one thing I hate about my Aukeys. Its at a length that gets caught up in my collar, as I don't feel its long enough. Looking at the info, the Anker seems about 4 inches shorter. just be aware.

hmm i didn't have a problem with them being too short. they hang down from my ears without pulling on each other or anything. the only thing is that the side with the controls sometimes pulls down more because of the weight of the controller.

I meant when they hand behind your neck. Unless you wear them in front.

i do wear my mine behind my neck.
they are also on sale again with code ANKER411

I currently have these senson BR headphones.
How do they compare and would these anker ones be a good upgrade?

logitech headphones breaking?

im considering purchasing the bluetooth logitech headphones for myself, but everywhere I go, I see that they snap in half after a couple of weeks. Is this true? Does anyone here own a pair, and if so would they recommend them? Thanks.
its true
indeed its true i barely had them a week and they snapped in the middle and hardly work as the cable runs thorugh the plastic frame..
ill be taking it apart to form part of my new wireless speaker transmitter device which will be handy .. !in a way its good for me as i rather to this than try to explain to the import shop why they should give me a refund lol as i know that will be tough!otherwise its 70 quid in the bin ,.. i hate these companies that release sub par appliances and how on earth can it be worth 70 uk pounds when my motorola ad2p set is about the same price and has true bluetooth functionality!?!?(and is very well built in comparison)
logitech bad this itme round .. and i normally like their output ..
moto
thx for the help bro.
i guess ill stick to the moto ht820. anyone have experience with those? ive read they are a little big.
I've had them for about 8 months now, and think they are fine. If you are mindful of the fact that they might break if you are clumsy, then you won't have a problem.
I think the moto ht820s are a solid set of headphones, but they are definitely a bit bulky. I find myself wearing them around my neck as not to look like princess leiah!
MJB
I use Plantronics 590a
the sound is well-balanced, with pretty full and deep bass
I ordered Logi, paid $37 shipped
even if it breaks, I just take the part out and embed into Koss R80
Where did you get those for 37$?

Used HT820's will sell cheap

I am looking to get rid of my motorola HT820. I dont really use them anymore.. they are in pretty decent shape considering i bought the unit as a brand new imitation on ebay... but imitation or not, they still work very good. I will sell it really cheap, will include charger with it. Since i am selling really cheap i would prefer to keep them in the US to avoid costly oversea's shipping.. but make me an offer!
I'm in the same boat as Mark as my HT820's don't get used anymore since I picked up the S9. I'm selling it sans the box with the charger. Any reasonable offers will be considered.
Lancealot, would you recommend the S9 then? I have HT820s also but they are simply far too big, the S9s look much more discreet and have similar specifications. Does the battery pack just rest on the back of your neck - it doesn't twist the buds in your ears?
i had looked at the s9's myself.. however the only reason i use a stereo headset is so that i can hear a conversation in both ears (im 27, been to many many loud concerts and my hearing is horrible).. but i have read that the s9 doesnt do conversations in stereo due to one of the ear buds is the mic. Only plays music in stereo... this was a major turn off to me.. although the form factor is really nice
The S9's do look alot nicer, slimmer and lighter, but I like the fact that my HT820 is cupped and not in-ear.
The HT820 imitations seems to be selling stupidly cheap on eBay.
The in-call stereo of the HT820 is a huge plus. I also like the volume level of the soft speakers which rest on the outside of the ear as opposed to the S9 which sit rather uncomfortably on the inside and the loud volume could damage hearing. The buttons on the 820 are easy to access and not so easily prone to accidental pushing unlike the S9 which are too close together. The battery life is superb and allows 9-10 hours of use on a single charge. I bought it half price with an employee discount at Radio Shack, so I wouldn't mind passing along the savings. Offers are still being accepted at this time!

Brilliant Headphone Holder

Hi,
Am I the only one here who always struggles to find a good way to store my headphones? I usually wrap them around themselves, but this normally leads to kinks in the cables and a mass of knots
I just spotted something called "Cable Turtles". I can't believe how simple they are, or more importantly, that I have never seen them before!!
I have just ordered a small black one from here
When it arrives I will post my thoughts on it.
Cheers
Zippyioa
Boy, those looks brilliant indeed. Will order one, I too have had some problems with where to store the cable. I hate wrapping
Bloomin' Royal Mail strikes have delayed the delivery of this fine product.
As soon as it arrives I will post my views for anyone who is interested!
Cheers

Did you get these and how did you get on with them?

Hi B&B,
They did arrive in the end (thanks Royal Mail!).
Overall I love them, however I think that the small ones, despite being listed as "for headphones" are too small. They hold the cable fine, but they are not large enough to encase the whole headphone (see picture)
If I ordered again I would probably go for the medium size to be honest.
Cheers
Zippyioa
whatever happened to those things that your earphones came in that you wind up
this is back in the walkman days like 1997
pretty much all earphones used to come sold with one of those things

Like these??
They are hard to find nowadays! AND the flat volume control bit on the headphones stops them rotating so they dont work for Hero headphones :-(

yeah!!! those things!
oh i didnt know there was a volume control on the hero headphones. didnt even open the bag or look at them. I figured id just use my cheap sennheiser cx300 anyway.
I actually bought the medium one and the headphones fit just about right. Could be a bit bigger as its a tight fit, but overall it works fine. Large would probably be overkill

In ear bluetooth headset, best?

Hey guys! I had a pair of beats tours, but I blew the speaker today (twice now) so I am looking for something new.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a pair of in ear bluetooth headphones?
Something that can be very loud with a decent (~6 hours streaming) battery life?
I know I don't want the LG ones with the 'necklace', way to ridiculous for me lol.
Price is not an issue.
Thanks!
Get a small Bluetooth receiver and then pick your own IEMs IMO, way better bang for your buck... Unless you're completely against the notion of slipping a matchbook sized receiver in your pocket or clipping it somewhere. This Sony receiver actually comes with some headphones (can't speak to their quality) but you could use any pair of headphones, it has built in controls and a display even. Proprietary charging cable I think but that's par for the course with Sony.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B003DQ1DCM/ref=pd_cp_cps_pw_1
I got this more basic receiver for other uses but I've used it with my Senheisser CX300, JVC 'mallows, and MEElec M9P headphones without issue, main drawback is no mic or controls, little cheaper tho and it probably has better range:
http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-BluBridge-mini-jack-Rx-Bluetooth/dp/B0038MA11U
These are THE smallest BT headphones I've seen, not worth the extra $20 if you ask me tho:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-HBH-IS800-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B001QTW21Y/ref=pd_sim_cps5
Battery life on those is obviously worse, tho it might be sufficient for you. I can't remember what other drawbacks I noted tho (they've been around a few years, used to cost $200), besides the fact that you're tied to the integrated headphones forever, and they're probably $20-30 quality headphones (which isn't bad per se, just depends on your needs and budget). Controlling playback is also probably fussier, if at all possible.
No one makes very high end BT headphones because you do lose some quality due to the compression BT uses, tho it's fine for mobile and car use IMO... But I'm not an audiophile and I don't pay more than $70 for a pair of headphon, and lately not even half that. Home cans are JCV RX700, cost $30, you'd be amazed at what you can get with a small budget if you just do some research (Head-Fi.org).
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. I was thinking more so the ones that are connected with the 1ft ish cord connecting it, but didn't even consider that option. I'll check them out, thanks again.
Edited the post with some extra comments, not quite sure what type of !BT headphone you're alluding too tho. Most of the others I've seen either have a behind the head band or they're over the ear and bulkier.
I've seen a couple other IEMs that are just tethered by one short cord (Jaybirds?) but they're still bulkier than those last Sony I linked, and probably not much cheaper... Might as well go with the sleekest possible if you wanna go that route, I'm not a Sony fan by any means but I doubt similar sets from companies that don't make any other audio gear (besides BT stuff and phone accesories) are gonna sound any better. My 2c

I was talking about something similar to these
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005B28DOM/ref=aw_d_iv_wireless?is=l&qid=1318655745&sr=8-16
But really looking for options, opinions, reviews.
I'll check out the website you posted, thanks.
Also, the BT receiver defeats the purpose of having a BT headset for me because 100% of the time the phone will be in my pocket anyways lol.
Hmm, whatever you linked isn't showing up on my Transformer... Point of the receiver is you can take the phone out and whatever without wrangling or dangling the cord, those receivers are tiny enough for a shirt pocket even... But if compact is what you want I haven't really seen anything smaller than those Sony I linked (last link). The whole BT/battery module is a tiny capsule mid string, most other BT IEMs I've seen are bulkier on the ear components.

Yeah I understand why you like the receiver, it just doesn't do anything for me.
I do like the ones in the last link, similar to the ones I linked, but was asking for reviews. They would be well worth the extra $20 in my book, if they work well.
Check out jabra sport.

Another headphone thread, but with specific needs

Checked out the general section and there are a ton of headphone threads, but I'm looking for something a little different than most of the guys are talking about there. Recommendations on those threads tend to come down to either larger headsets, or in the ear noice-cancelling buds.
What I'm looking for is basically something like the OEM iphone ones for the iphone that will work with the SGS2. I'd prefer an over the ear set, but can deal with simple earbuds as long as they aren't the noise canceling types; can't stand trying to talk on the phone with my ears clogged up! I actually made a pair a few years ago that were just what I wanted; took an extra iphone headset, disassembled the earbuds, and transplanted the mic/cord combo over to a nice set of over the ear headphones that I had. Had to break out the micro tip for my soldering iron, but they looked and worked great. Something like that is what I'm looking for.
So my requirements are:
Non-noise cancelling headset (on top of not wanting to sound muffled to myself when on the phone, I want to use these for walking/biking, and don't want to completely isolate all sound.
Inline mic with call answer switch.
Basic music controls if at all possible.
Decent quality at a minimum. I don't have to have top of the line headphones, but want something better than a $10 pair that you can buy at Wal Mart.
Ordered some inexpensive ones on Amazon that stated that they are OEM HTC Evo 4G phones; got them today, the controls won't work at all and one of the earpieces kept cutting out when I moved the cord at the plug. Beware of them. Found these on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Active-Corded-Earset-Retail-Packaging-Black/dp/B0049SKIDI/ref=sr_1_143?ie=UTF8&qid=1328652715&sr=8-143. They seem to be just about what I'm looking for, and one reviewer states that they tried them out on several Androids and found them to work. Before I ordered them, I thought I'd get some opinions here if anyone is familiar with something along the lines of what I'm looking for.
Im not sure what exactly your price range caps out on, but for 130 bucks, you can get a pair of Bose MIE2i Headphones. They have an inline mice and music controls, certified for ipod/iphone control, but they work fine on my galaxy s 2. They've Lasted way longer than my beats. Got em november 2011, and they still work fine to this day. They have a good stay in ear design, and they dont look half bad.

A bit more than what I was looking at spending, since I really won't use them all that much, but they look promising. "Got em in november 2011, and they still work fine to this day".... hell, I would hope that they would last more than 3 months, LOL. Thanks for the heads up, though. Gonna consider them.
I know Skullcandy hesh have a decent mic with very basic controls but they're bulky. I have their GI and 50/50 right now. I like the GI but they're $80 and too bulky for a headset. Great headphones though.

Hahaha i say that because im terrible with headphones. Every skull candy headset ive owned lasted about 4 weeks on average. My beats solo? 2 weeks before the in line mic gave in, and a few days later one side died on me.
