Redme note 4x battery low - Constant push notifications - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hello guys!
I have a friend that has a Redme note 4X
Android version is 6.0 MRA58K
MIUI version 9.5.1.0 (MBFMIFA)
Kernel version 3.18.22+
The issue is that once the phone reaches a certain percentage it keeps popping up a push notification that states the following:
Connect charger
18% remaining
Then you can either press OK or "Turn on Battery saver"
After you press OK you cant even count "One Mississippi" and that annoying pop up comes up back again.. and again... and again.. All the while showing the same percentage...
Until you either charge the phone or shoot your head in the temple..
Is that a way to either turn it off completely or minimize the quantity of these pop ups( Meaning pop again once it reach a lower percentage like from 15 to 10 to 5 instead of every second)?
Thanks in advanced!

Anyone?

Has the battery in your friend's Redmi Note 4X gone bad? Anyway, I don't think there's a way to disable this without root. There's an Xposed module for this, I think, but you'll have to search for it.
Or just switch to a custom ROM like LineageOS.

Have you tried using a different usb cable to charge the device?

[Q] Disable wake on charge

Every time I plug my phone in via USB or place on an inductive charger, the screen turns on. I never want this to happen. Is there any setting or hack to disable? I blame OCD for not wanting to wait for the screen timeout. I tried using Tasker to set the display timeout to the minimum value of 7s only when on any power source, but it still timed out at the system setting. I have a rooted Droid 4 with the stock ROM, but this applies to any Android phone.
This doesn't seem unreasonable. If you set your phone down to charge, doesn't that mean you're done using it for now? This is difficult to search for, because the same search terms lead me to the "stay awake while charging" threads.

I'd like to know if there's a solution to this too. I find now that the only time I ever end up pocket dialing is when I take my phone off my charger, THINK i've pressed the power button to go back to sleep but didn't and thus pocket hilarity ensues
I know what u mean but there is defnetly a function where it may be disabled
ive seen it i may guarantee this
the bad thing is i forgot where...
i searched through my stock rom and found nothing so i guess ive seen this in a cyanogenmod rom :/
have a try
Its funny, because I'm trying to do the opposite. I installed my android tablet [novo 7 elf] into my car, and I used to be on a ROM whereby whenever I turn the engine on it would charge the tablet and therefore the screen would turn on. However now I've got a jellybean port this functionality does not work because of the sleep timer which has a max of 30 mins.
Any ideas on how to disable this functionality?

If you're screen always stays on while charging, then try this:
- goto SETTINGS- Developer options - uncheck "stay awake while charging"
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII

That's not what he's looking for.
The problem is when the screen turns on when you plug it in.

Indeed.
Am looking for the same thing. really hate the fact that when it goes in the charger I continuously have to turn off the device.... not cool.
Hopefully someone comes with a solution.
only thing for now is use Locale and a plugin screen off (.99 cents) which will probably turn off the screen if you plug it in. haven't tried it though.
Maybe the "charging now" notification is what wakes the phone up when it begins charging, and maybe that notification can be removed somehow, but I know nothing of how those are set up in the background.

FYI, I tried this again since upgrading to ICS on my Droid 4, and it totally works. I just set up a Tasker profile: When Power=AC or USB, Display Timeout = 7s. It shuts off in 7s when on my inductive charging pad, and the system setting of 1 minute when off the pad.

Sadly, it's two dollars, but this seems to be what you're looking for.
Option 1:
Install Xposed or other, I don't remember clearly...
Option 2:
With Tasker
-Power: Any AC
-System Lock
why it isn't possible to disable it without xposed?
know this is an old thread but just curious if there is a way to not have the display turn on when it reaches 100% while charging?

Old thread again but in Nougat, it's Settings/Display/Wake on plug, Disable.
Well now this thread is even older :*)
There is a app named "All My..." it contains no wake on charge. It should be a former xposed app that work on most phones so feel free to try.
Hey download.snoozy charger from play store

Option 2 worked for me on current up to date Samsung Note 9. Thank you so much. Tasker is great, I can't wait to see how many other issues I can use to resolve.

LOL This settings doesnt exist in the app
2021! Still looking for this.
2022 and it's ongoing. Who would want the screen to turn on when plugged in. On an LG phone you even get an annoying buzz which cannot be disabled even if in silent mode.

Any way to turn off data when screen is off? Battery saving tips?

Hi Guys,
battery life is super important for me because i am all day outside. I had an asus zenfone 3 zoom before (5000mah battery, total beast with 7-10 hours SOT). The asus had a battery saving mode that would "turn off data after screen goes off".
This mode was perfect for me, because the phone was working normal when i use it, and when it lock it, it drains almost zero battery, no background activity (its like being in airplane mode). I wonder if there is any way to do the same with the Mate 10? Any workarounds or suggestions?
With the mate 10 i notice that there is a lot of battery drain when the screen is off. If i go to sleep i will lose 15% the next morning.
I dont like the normal battery saving mode of the mate 10 because it makes the phone slower when im using it, and whatsapp messages/emails dont come through unless i open the app manually, which is annoying. So its not a solution i can use all day.
Any other tips are welcome.
My Mate 8 had this under in the power management tab in the phone manager app. My Mate 10 arrived today, I'll inbox it later and check. 15% drain is excessive, most are reporting 0 to 1% drain.
Ok let me know
Sorry for the late reply, got too carried away testing my new phone
Go to the Phone Manager App, click on the battery symbol in the left bottom corner, then click on the settings icon. The settings icon is in the top right hand corner. There you will see the options to disable mobile data and wifi during sleep.
Install "Brevent" from playstore and set it up using ADB (if you r not rooted)
Will help to boost your batt throughout the day

Overheating while using maps

Is there a way to turn off the notification that says the phone is too hot to charge? I am trying to use Google maps whole charging and the notification keeps popping up and I can't see my screen at all. I need it charging because on long trips the phone would die since maps drains battery fast.
It would not be wise to try and disable that notification. Also how is your s9 overheating? I have never had any heating issues even when im at full brightness, playing music and running google maps at the same time in my car. I recommend putting all your apps to always sleeping in the device maintenance battery saver setting, this will ensure that no other app is doing something crazy in the background and maxing your cpu out. Putting your apps to always sleeping does not disable important notifications such as facebook messages or post updates but will disable apps access to your phones sensors when they are in the background for a couple of minutes, such as step count from galaxy health but u can just not add those apps and they will continue to work fine.
Well I don't want to disable it because I know it will be bad for the battery I just don't want to see the notification because it takes up the whole screen and when I tap it to make it go away it comes back in seconds and I can't see my phone screen
Make sure the phone is fully charged before starting Google maps. It won't get hot then.
Are you using a wireless charger? If so, switch to a wired one. It will generate less heat. Is the phone positioned so the sun is shining right on it? What's the output of your charger? Maybe try one with lower output. I've run Maps on my S9+ while charging many times without issue.
Unpack may be on to something with the idea of background apps eating up battery. I drove from northern VA to southern Delaware (~ 3 hours) using map to navigate without plugging the phone in, and still had close to 50% battery left.
i got pretty good battery usage without high temps. had my phone in power saving mode (limited cpu) and lowering maps accuracy to battery saving.

All notifications does not work when display if off

Hi all ,
I'm not sure if members of you have experiencing Redmi Note 9 pro does not wake up whenever there is a notification.
I use also Samsung at the same time , installing same apps on both Samsung & Redmi Note 9 Pro.
I received always notifications from Samsung , Screen turn on & sound ...etc. but not on the Redmi. I also noticed I can see notifications only when I manually turn on the screen on Redmi .
The Redmi is just like a sleeping baby when screen is off. I'm not even sure if it start sync0 during screen off.
Wifi setting is always on without sleep.
Any solution already found to this please ?
Thank you very much.
edmond.
Not trying to self-promote but there appears to be many threads on this problem so I created a new thread so people can find a possible fix easier.

Always-On Display Keeps Turning Off

Hi guys,
I have tries quite many things, but at night, my always on display keeps turning off after few seconds - which I dont want.
What I have:
Xiaomi Mi 10, Android 11, MiUI 12.5.2 - Original, Not Rooted.
What I tried:
Battery Optimization and Ultra Battery Optimization is turned off
Digital Wellbeing should not turn off always on display.
Removed and updated Digital Wellbeing app
Plugged the mobile to electricity overnight
And still always on is turning off.
I am quite "desperate" . Can you help please? Is it turning off for you? What can I try more?
Thank you.
under developer options, all the way down, you can find "Turn on MIUI optimisation" and turn it off. Some other stuff will be less than optimal (I don't know what stuff, but you do get a warning), but you get your permanent always on display.

Isn't there an option in the AoD settings so you can choose permanently on AoD or only on for a few seconds on tap or screen lock.
Edit: yep.

Hi, also tried it, and doesnt work. Here are my settings in AOD:
I guess you're out of luck then. You could try a dedicated app AOD.
Download fresh rom of your choice and flash it ......hope it will work
I am currently using 12.5.7 eu rom with root
Everything working perfectly.
