LineageOS 15 - There's no "minimum time between notification sounds" option anymore?
The title pretty much sums up my problem.. the option was priceless for me because people rarely send just one message these days and sounds just start poping all out of nowhere. Why such an option is unavailable now in Oreo while it was available in Nougat. Is there any way to do some alternative solution, like an app or something that might help me?

Hi @returnedinformation, Did you manage to find something about it? I have a Oneplus 3 but the problem is essentially the same with LineageOS 15
I found an outdated xposed module but it is not for Oreo and it is from 2014! Please let me know

Hi @AMARTEL
I have found no solution by now, but muting some of the sounds and messsages completely.. I'd stick with LineageOS 14.1 just for this reason, but I can't since 15.1 contains huge fixes for Wifi for my phone. I really hope someone introduces some option like it because it was priceless for me.

I will keep looking @returnedinformation, I posted on the LineageOS 15 OP3´s thread, let´s see if someone helps us out.
If I find something I will let you know. It is a deal breaker for me too.
Thank you

Amazing, Mutifier app seems to be working like a charm. I think I will give it a try for some time and if it proves good, I guess we solved this! I don't want to install Gravity Box as well, but I think there's no need at all. Altough installing Xposed systemlessly (SDK 27 for Oreo) with Magisk Manager, and then installing GravityBox is possible as said by other members of XDA.. but it seems right now SDK 27 isn't available for ARM64v8
Thank you a lot for sharing <3

sadly, I'm not using Moto Z anymore because it's battery problems are just not ignorable.. I have now got myself a used Galaxy J5 2016, have flashed TWRP and installed Resurrection Remix OS, it's Oreo 8.1 and it has a wonderful option in settings that does the same as "minimum time between notification sounds", and it's called "Smart notifications sounds".. you can find it under settings>interface>sound, I wonder if it might be the same for Moto Z Resurrection Remix

xCyanogenMini - Gigglebread - Rotary & Dialer(s) Fixes

Hi Folks,
I have decided to post this fix as a separated thread because the gigglebread thread is growing incredibly fast and the reference to it gets lost in one or two days after being published.
When GB was at v5, I wrote this post on its thread, to offer to the community a fix that I've created to my device, because I realized that my pain could be the pain of others.
Well, that fix does not works on v8, it puts the system in a infinite boot loop. Therefore I rolled up my sleeves again to update it. And here it comes the updated version. Enjoy while it's hot.
Best Regards,
Ed.
could you please tell us what this fixes and is installation via custom zip option in xecovery?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I'm sorry for this. The explanation was on the post linked in the previous message... Here's the Quote of that post:
edsena said:
Hi Folks,
I've been following this particular thread since its first day (coincidentally the same day that I started using an Android phone).
The main motivation for using this rom was that to be able to replicate my corporate e-mail and calendar. In order to do that, I would have to be, at least, using Android 2.2, because the company that I work for restricts access to earlier versions because the changes on the lock screen password options that took place on v2.2.
Despite of a few minor remaining bugs, this ROM works pretty well on my device. But, there is an issue that was really pissing me off: The inability of sending DTMF tones using the digits 0*#, because of the layout of the screen. Since I have to join several conference calls per week, that is a huge show-stopper for me. Well, I'm pretty sure that the creator of this ROM is quite busy working on some serious issues (like bluetooth) and do not has the time to take a look into these cosmetic issues, that's why I decided to roll up my sleeves and work on this.
I finally went thru this, and I decided to share this fix on the forum, since I read a lot of people talking about this issue as well. Attached to this post is an update zip file, which will tweak the position of the component of those screens, in order to allow the full visualization of both dialpads (in-call & initial).
To install the fix, just copy it to your sdcard and install it via xRecovery. Please take into account that this comes with no warranty at all, is provided *AS IS*, and I don't want to be responsible should anyone damage a device, loose data, etc, trying to install this package. I only tested it on my phone (where it worked like a charm) therefore I can't guarantee that it will work on other setups as well.
If you like this fix, please click on "Thanks" and feel free to send some bucks to finance some Duvels, Karmeliets or Guiness
EDIT: I've just added a tweak to the "Rotary Selector" to keep it from being in front of the "Calling Card" when an incoming call is received. Therefore now there's 3 zip attached to this post: One that has the 2 fixes and another one for each fix. You can figure out which is which by their names, which are pretty straight forward.
Best Regards,
Ed.

Works Perfectly

Xposed Module: Keyboard Suggestions Blacklist

Hi folks,
This is a little module that started out as a PoC but turned into something that I find useful. I use swiping on the Google Keyboard and found that sometimes it would detect words or offer suggestions that I would never type. I had previously used Swype and so not being able to remove suggested words drove me crazy.
This Xposed module adds blacklisting to the Google Keyboard.
Features:
Long-press on suggested words from the keyboard interface
Add words to the blacklist through the module itself
The project is open source, you can view it on GitHub.
I'd prefer bugs/feature requests to go into the GitHub tracker, but if all else fails you can get in touch with me through XDA for support/bugs/feature requests.
There's also a Reddit thread if you're into that.

Found this the same day i was trying to delete words..There is no other way really? I was swyping wrong words everytime
Thanks for you module. Some words still there, and i cant delete by long-press, but its really better now.
Can you explain the problems you're having a little more detailed? When you long-press, you should get a Toast message saying that the word was added. Are you seeing that?
It currently doesn't delete the word that was entered though. Is that what you mean?
What phone/ROM are you on?

Wait a minute... this is suposed to work with N4 only? I tought it was working but i dont think so. all words i black-listed still showing in my suggestions. My way of black-listing was adding through the app itself.
I dont see any toast message when i long-press a suggested word.
Im running Omnirom 4.3 in my S-Advance.
It should work with other phones and Roms, but hooking methods by name and signature is iffy. It could be that a particular ROM has changed the package or class name. It's hard to say.
At this point, I personally have only tried on vanilla 4.4 on a Nexus 4, but I know at least one person has it working fine on Note 2 or 3.
I'll have to add some error handling logic, in the case that something unexpected is encountered. I'll log some bugs on the GitHub that you can track.

I'd like to build in support for multiple keyboards soon. I am working now to fix it for the Google Keyboard first, then I'll look at the Android one.
I have it working again with the latest Google Keyboard. I refactored the code some so in theory it should be a little easier to add support for other versions of the keyboards. I should have a new build up before Monday.

Hi orville, thanks for the link. I am aware of that module and used it for years, but it's not working anymore for me on the LG G4. I am trying to get some support going on it, but looks like the developers of that patch and script don't want to support it any further.
Thank you for your help though, hope I can get some attention/help going on this topic.

You are welcome. One thing that came to my mind: I have read about Xposed issues for G4 users. Are you sure Xposed is working properly for you? Maybe this is just an issue with a buggy Xposed framework for G4 models and the GfE Root module is still working.

Thanks again bud. I thought that too, but other Xposed modules are working fine. GravityBox, G4TweaksBox, BootManager, and etc. This module, activates and all, fine, but when I launch the Good app, give it Root access (normal procedure) the Good app becomes unresponsive, ultimately says it has stopped working, and the same happens on multiple relaunches.
The ONLY thing that I could think of changing is the fact that G4 is a 64bit device, that may have impacted this module. But other than that, everything is the same as the past, as my old devices.
I am hoping someone could help me at least if this is happening on their 64 bit phones or not as well? Thanks!

Of Course I made this app to fix a very specific problem i.e "vp9 codec issue"
If you have any other problems then this app won't help.
P.S. The bug is fixed now so the app is no longer required.
Its still persists on my device.. Maybe its my ROM
This is reportedly working on Zenfone 2 Laser variants running Oreo.

Derpfest ROM android 10 discussion, experiences, mods

Hi to all
The developers of derpfest ROM don't wanna share the links to Derpfest in xda.
We have to respect this! Don't post any links to ROM or telegram derpfest groups!
Here is the closed thread without links but with important infos:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/help/android-10-derpfest-rom-10-official-t4032543
So, this thread is only for advice, discussions and experiences.
Future requests
Please tell me what you want to have changed or implemented, the I would ask the developers if it could be possible.
My list
1. adding autocall record
2. Adding flip display down to mute ringer
3. Smart charge (charging only to a predefined % value)
4. Adding display saturation level
5. All closing button in recent app list
6. And last to be 100% perfect with 5 stars: a system menu with automatic timebased network disconnect... Like leandroid app
Hi guys
This TWRP (last version from 16.) is lookin and working better than all others:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/development/orangefox-recovery-10-mi9cepheus-test-t3987959
If you delete the empty folder root data per_boot the backup is running without faults.
Many additional functions like disable magisk modules for testing or after bootloop with a non working module....
There are 2 versions of derpfest 13.1. 20 online. Someone checked the differences?
Is it impossible to support the ok google hotword feature?
Sadly hotword don't work on most custom roms in Mi9.
Except few roms
For example, old Bootleggers ROM, EvolutionX 3.5 1224 build etc...
You can assign AI button to ok google or use screen gestures,
but in my case I really need a hotword so I can't move to another rom.
I saw some comments before.
There was a saying that moving from possible ROM to impossible ROM, but the attempt failed.

Hey ladies
If you want to try my personally favorite of gcam with complete settings (I'm on derpfest but I think it's working quite good in all roms with Android 10) then you can download my backup and restore it with titanium. Recommend is no gcam is installed on starting restore.

most people looking for information about some roms go to the "ROMs" section and not here, which is why so little interest. DerpFest itself is the best rom for mi9 (with weekly releases.)
IBTD, a ROM with GAPPS included can never be 'the best ROM' for any device. YMMV but I'd like to decide by myself which Google bloatware I'd like to install.
Cheers

Yes you are right but in case of forbidden links (btw I didn't know why the developer of derpfest didn't allow us to post links in xda) in my opinion I can't move in the ROM thread in case of xda rules.

Yes, I think every gcam has some bugs.
Also this one:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1-HAYDgRI2z2Z7pbWMBtmEuP8jStW5oPT
But this one (apk install, unpack my zip xml settings to sd card that you've got a GCam Folder with subfolder Configs7 and there are the xml configs / open cam app and choose the config file by double click black area or in the settings menu)
I've found today and there are a lot of settings adjustable and quite stable. For me perfect pictures....
Try and give feedback.
I've used Derpfest for a couple of days and was very happy with it. But I couldn't get Android Auto to work with my car - dark screen on the dashboard and phone would lock up. I've dirty flashed PE and there Android Auto works fine.
I understand Android Auto may be a very rare use case, so I certainly don't want to complain. What's more interesting is that you may apparently try dirty flashing between PE and Derpfest...at least at this moment.
Can confirm. Android auto not working. Black screen and phone restarts for me.
So i am going back to PE.
