Anyone else?

Do we have to update the V30 to have bright mode feature or is it built in? May i know how to enable it?

Yes, "bright mode" is part of the Oreo ThinQ AI software.
In Camera settings, it's the first option at the top, if you have Oreo/ThinQ AI. But it's not there in Nougat.

macro mode ?

Hi all .. first time i have chance to play around with the camera today.. so far im impressed ! the only thing i couldn't seem to find is the macro mode ? has the camera actually got a dedicated macro mode ? if so could someone explain how to enter into it for me . thanks in advance :good:
Just stick in auto and take your close up shots. It picks up macro flawlessly and does a fantastic job.

Attached is a crop of a photo of a wasp beetle I saw on our carpet. Picture was in auto mode. The beetle is about 12mm long. If you want, I'll drop the original on Dropbox and post a link.

Here's my 2 pence
Leaf in garden, which camera has given a nice bokah effect.
Citreon symbol from steering wheel in car.
Both in auto and camera picked up macro for both of them.

The phone automatically switched to macro mode when getting close (you can see the word "Macro" followed by the flower icon), but it seems there are distance limitations. The attached picture was taken at approx 2 inches (5cm) away. Is there a way to get better focus (aside from an aftermarket macro lens attachment)?

Anyone able to improve Camera?

Hey everyone
Since being able to sort out battery life, I'm really enjoying the P9000, but one thing still gets on my nerves, and it's the camera.
All my photos come out with a slight Magenta tinge to them (white balance out) and photos come out a lot darker than they first appear when taking the shot in the camera app.
Has anyone been able to fix this? I've downloaded the Rodriguez patch, but this hasnt helped at all.
Any help with the camera would make this phone almost perfect!

I've found selecting daylight in the white balance settings instead of auto white balance helps but unfortunately this reverts back to auto every time you open the camera app so you keep having to manually select it.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a shot Is everyone getting a purple tint in their photos?

Yeah that's what I appear to get with the auto white balance. Here are 3 I've just take, one with AW, one with Daylight setting & one with Twilight. Turns out the twilight one is the closest to life & as you can see the quality is good so it just shows that they need to get the auto settings right in software as it's no good for quick snaps.

Are you using the wide angle camera, the front camera or the main camera?? The main camera is 16MP and the other 2 are only 8MP.
It does look like you are using the wide angle camera here so the image wont be as good
Hi fellow Austrian
As the G5's cameras support the Camera2 API, you might wanna try manual mode. Using it, you are able to manually set ISO, shutter speed, white balancing and focus, while the last two parameters still contain an "AUTO" function. You can turn it on in the overflow menu.
Here are some helpful pages that helped me
- ISO/shutter speed
- ISO/shutter speed cheat sheet
-White balance
~Firefrost
That's the worst contrast I've seen in a while. My first thought was that maybe the lens is dirty?
@Seansmit17 yes im using wide angel but if i dont use it still pictures looks like 8 bit. i will post more pics tomorrow.
@Firefrost Servus i will try it thanks but i want to use simple mode.
@ torax242 no its not.
Still same, is this looks like a hardware problem? Should i send it back? There is no settings or something.
sent back to amazon.... end

Moto G8 Power LOCKED version , what can this do in terms of GCAM, RAW DNG and long exposure?

I have a G8 Power locked version on order. Was curious what are it's limitations in terms of installing and using GCAM.
1) Can I do at least GCAM 6.x with HDR+ functionality with the main camera? I am guessing yes?
2) As far as long exposure with ANY app with this locked version....guessing long exposure beyond 1/3 or half second is probably not going to happen right?
3) Will any version of Gcam 7.X work?
4) DNG RAW probably supported out of the box with 3rd party app right?
Thanks for any info.
I use Wichaya's gcam, and I regularly update it. works fine really, only thing is it doesn't work when screen is locked. you have to setup the IDs, but that's par for the course. the stock moto camera is better if you want the macro, as the flash is dimmed, which is good since you're so close the regular one reflects everywhere.
oh, and the stock case is a ****ing joke. the flash is literally unusable with it on lol
I have used multiple GCam variants up to 8.1. The Urnyx05/Wichaya variant works the best for access to all cameras and quality photos. I have tested a few other variants and other camera apps trying to improve on astrophotography, but the real limit is the 1/2 second exposure. This is really a shame, but quality images are possible - see the Orion Nebula below. I am able to edit raw dng files in Snapseed or export them to my PC for editing.

Question Steady Video (EIS) is only available for [email protected]

Hello guys - the phone is updated to the latest official Europe ROM 13.0.5.0 SKIEUXM. I recently bough the phone so i dont know how it was before android 12 firmwares but as i know the stabilizations must be available for all resolutions including 4K . I tried to restore the default camera settings but this didnt change anything . So is this a bug with my phone or this is for all phones after the latest firmware ?

Hello, boboweb!
EIS is available by default for all resolutions, but not all frame rates. It does not work for [email protected]
From the screenshot that you have posted, I see that you have selected the "Steady video" option, which is available only for [email protected] and it it like EIS on steroids, trying to provide super steady video (personaly I don't like the result and have it turned off).
Best regards!

EIS 100% works on 1080p60 on default.
If you install gcam, you can even get 4k60 with EIS on right config
Yep, you're right. I don't know why I was thinking that it doesn't have EIS for [email protected]
Best regards!
