Sky Device 5.5W - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I accidently erased the firmware off my Sky 5.5W and I have searched everywhere for it.
My computer recognises it but cant find the firmware .
Does anyone know where I can find it or if I can use different firmware?
Thanks

can you tell me the current condition of your device?
Like is it stuck on boot logo (boot loop)
or is it bricked?

I don't think it's bricked as the laptop still finds it.

try checking this link out
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1936747&page=2
also like my replies, its a great encouragement if you do so

Will it work with an mtk device.? I tried it but can find the proper software for it. The files the qfl asks for aren't apart of the files I have.

Well honestly I have never worked with MTK devices but I know what you should do.
Now if that's the case you may download SPFT (Smart Phone Flash Tool) and find the appropriate drivers for your MTK device and then flash the ROM you want to (I prefer the stock room).
I hope this will help you.

...I'm in similar position with a Platinum 5. Please let me know whether you found ROM for this device and if so where, and I'll let you know what I find out if you need. I think I'll try to get something from SKY themselves so wish me luck.

[Q] Spreadtrum SP6820a Sprd S6010 (Galaxy Duos Clone?)

How to root please?
Also, anyone know how to reflash this models firmware?
I think I stuffed 1 of them up trying to root.
Attached is a picture of the model.
Thank you. Have a nice day.
Hi there !
I have started a new thread on how to root spreadtrum devices here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165554
May be you could find a way to root yours.
I also need you to test an idea to root them, but I'm not sure if it will work.
Because you already have a bricked one, you can try this idea without risking your device (and maybe unbrick it by doing a backup of the others one and flashing this backup on it.)
How have you bricked it precisely ?

Hi there, I recently got my hands on a Mobicel Titan, and after much unclear research, the best I can come up with is that it is a Spreadtrum SC6820a phone, hope I am on the right track. Anyway, my goal is to change the ROM on this phone as the software that Mobicel has bundled on their version of Android is way too much for the phone to handle. I have already rooted the phone using Z4Root successfully. Funny enough, the link you have is the very link I tried for the past week, I've tried ADB and Fastboot on both Windows 8 64bit and Ubuntu 12.10 64bit, and even ResearchDownload, all drivers were installed successfully, but when i try all methods to flash new ROM to the device, nothing seems to happen, even if I use ResearchDownload and follow instructions to the T, flash process doesn't start. After using fastboot to update CWM from Ubuntu 12.10, if I try to restart into recovery mode, it is then stuck on the Mobicel Logo. Is there a guide for the Mobicel Titan?

I can help you get rooted. First you will need to install drivers on your PC so your device can communicate with the root program. Then try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43163569&postcount=7
If that dont work, let me know. You can always use MTK Droid Tools and SP flash tool to pull your stock recovery and port it into a custom recovery that will allow you to flash a simple root.zip
Hope this helps!

Try using this, it installs drivers for many different phones, it may not be the actual manufacturers drivers for your specific device but it will help get your phone talking to your PC:
http://www.snappea.com/
Also - Make sure you are going into settings and turning USB debugging on. You can usually find this under Settings > Developer Options.

Go here and download MTK Droid Tools from first post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490&styleid=18
Run the program and connect your phone to PC, this tool will tell you lots of info about your phone but the main function is to possibly back up your stock firmware (This is good to have if you plan on trying to flash anything to the phone, this way you will have your stock files to fall back on in case something you flash to the phone does not work.) Once you have MTK Droid Tools running and phone connected, what does it say next to Hardware on the phone info tab please?
I am not sure off top of my head about updating to a higher version of Android but this back up step is REALLY important. It is hard if not impossible to find stock firmware floating around on the net for these chinese clone devices. IF you have stock files backed up you can flash almost anything you want knowing you have a way to restore your phone to working order. IF you look around here on XDA you will see tons of posts by people looking for the stock firmware for their clone phone after soft bricking it playing around. Sadly there is not much help for them unless they find someone with the EXACT same phone and are willing to share their back up (if the next person made one theirselves that is!)

edit
even though my pc now recognises the fact that tere is a spreadtrum phone in my devices list and i managed to root it ok, when i load up mtk droid tools it says "the device isn't revealed, connect or reconnect a cable"
needless to say i tried reconnecting and it didn't change i downloaded the adb drivers from the link under the mtk link but have no idea what to do with them,
appologies for my ignorance in all of this, but like i said in my first post, i have no idea what i'm doing with all this, thanks

pps the hardware version i posted was from the info on my phone

Revisiting this tab as my solution for having it work was to fling together parts of the nx008, not perfect, I still needed to get the original ROM.
Can you perhaps provide me with a dump of the original ROM?
Also if you need help loading the rom onto the bricked one, I believe I can be of some help.
Thanks

Please tell more about your device mate . And go search on your phone forum instead here, I'm sure there is a guide for hard brick device in your phone's forum.
For example, I've a LG G2, and well, when in qhsusb_bulk mode, it can't be recover, so don't worry now.

Hard bricked Motorola G7 - Need help

Hello everyone! I am in dire need of help.
So I recently decided to acquire a regular Motorola G7 because I had heard its battery is fantastic. This far, I have been loving it.
But silly me decided I wanted to explore OEM boot unlocking to eventually root the device. After successfully completing theses tasks, I installed the TWRP recovery. Sadly, something (must have) went wrong because when I tried to reboot, the phone went into hard brick. Completely unresponsive, holding both power and vol. down button for 2+ minutes did nothing. I basically have exhausted every Internet recommendations thus far and nothing has been fruitful.
I have been able to get the Qualcomm Port 9008 (COM3) to show up in device manager when I hold power and vol. down. Also, the program QPST also recognizes a phone in Sahara download mode (although I have no idea what it means nor what to do with that, if anything).
So here I am, asking for your help. I have read somewhere that a blankflash zip file could allow me to restore my phone but alas, I wasn't able to find any nor would I know what to do with it.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Regards,
Afireblood.
Edit: I have managed to find a way to potentially salvage my bricked phone, using QIFL tool to flash a stock rom. However, to do so I need some files (which are proper to the Moto G7 - any other would not do). They are:
programmer (firehose?).mbn
rawprogram.xml
patch.xml
If anyone has any clue where I could find that (except everywhere on Google - it hasn't been helpful), I would very much appreciate it!

Update: Now in search of the Moto G7 specific blankflash.zip
If anyone knows where I can find that I would really appreciate it!!
I am not familiar with the g7. (I own a G5+). I believe the G7 code name is "river". You can look at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/ and they show a blank flash - but let me say something - a blank flash must be exact for your phone. Its basically the main disk partition with other partitions inside. My phone has 64GB/4GB, and 32GB/3GB-2GB models - so you see a problem. But if all the G7s are the same, then this blank flash should be OK.
Also you can download the phones original firmware at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/river/official/RETUS/ , if its a US model. If its not, back up 1 directory and you can find it by either carrier or country. You can fastboot the firmware - which I would do before a blankflash,
Hope that helps.
