From single sim to Double sim - Huawei P20 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello,
I bought a P20 lite in Orange store, but when i tried to put 2 sim, just one was reconize ( it's an ANE-LX1 ).
Do you know, what I have to do, for my P20 lite can reconize the second sim ?
Thanks you .
O.R

Do u see 2 imei codes in ure settings?

Same question here the phone doesn't seems supported on funky huawei

Where did you buy it from? Some sellers (carphone warehouse I. e.) only sell single sim versions. I got caught out with P10 lite, same model number as dual but it is only single maybe something like that has happened to you.

Reed the book U got with the phone. U can only use one sim at the time.

Well the trick is going to Settings > System and check if there are two IMEI available.
If there is, congrats, you have a dual SIM phone. To make them work you need to have two Nano SIM cards inserted (you lose the ability to have a SD card tough). Are your cards 4G/LTE compatible?
If so then you can switch between the two to have mobile data 4G/LTE. Please note that you cannot have 4G on both cards at the same time.

I have the exact same issue, bought the phone from Vodacom in South Africa, Logged a call with Huawei and they advise that Vodacom locks the ability for dual sim and there is nothing that they can do.

I do think it is possible to convert to dual SIM.
I had a Mate 9 (Single SIM) from Vodacom, re-branded to European version and then flashed the English Rom (Dual SIM). After that I flashed the local ROM again to receive updates and it is still running fine. I am just waiting for the re-branding tools to become available.

I will wait and see if some process comes up for me to get it Dual Sim even if it voids warranty.

Hello,
Are there any news of activating second sim?

Hello, I have Huawei p20 lite single SIM (one imei) I want to convert to dual sim. Know somebody how I can do it?

I also have an Orange phone, unbranded, but It appears Orange in phone information. It has two sims space, but it's true, only recognize one.
It doesn't matter, but another bug disturb my mind. I can't use bank app to pay with contactless. It appears a message telling that the phone is enough secure, or it be rooted. My phone it isn't rooted, perhaps could be an NFC issue.

Help me pleaseeeee

Have you tried changing a SIM card?

Yes, it´s possible convert the single sim to dual sim, (at least the ANE-LX3 model, the model that I have), but you need the bootloader code and other stuff. I can´t share the link but exist a Huawei Latinamerican P lite and Mate lite Facebook fan page that have some tutorials in Spanish for that (Google it). If you have a different model version I think that it´s the same process only changes the rooms for the model that you have.
Sorry for my bad English!

I know that it is possible change oeminfo and download new firmware - but which firmware will works with my phone I don't know. My phone is model ANE-LX2J C111. It is real a lot of firmwares on firmware finder for LX2J, but which from them will support dual sim and which support my phone model I realy dont know.

What do you mean you can't find in Hebrew? If you are taking about setting up languages, you can do that through the settings.
And second... this sub forum isn't for the international version, just to let you know.

In settings - language you can change ui to Hebrew and Sony's keyboard supports Hebrew too. In date and time you can change date formatting. Only things that may be off is daylight savings time and you won't get Hebrew date without third party app. No root required.

Does it recognize the SIM card at all? Is it just data network that's not working, or no phone either?
It does recognize a Sim insertion and than restart the phone.
No network for the phone AT ALL - either call or data.
What do u think?

Are you cellcom or orange? From what I can see these are the only fully supported networks. Other networks are more limited. If you can't get any connection there are a few options I can think of
1. The SIM got damaged during insertion, you can try a different SIM
2. The phone has a blocked imei and the carrier will not activate a blocked phone. There are sites that let you check that. If that's the case it's more difficult. I think there may be ways to circumvent that if you have root, but I've never looked into it. Blocked imei usually means the phone has dubious history, and is completely separate from locked SIM. When a phone is lost or stolen the carrier reports it to other carriers and the imei becomes black listed. I know pelephone is very strict on that

I'm on Hot mobile (In places there no "Hot Mobile" antennas, they runing on Orange network).
Tried cellcom too.
On Tuesday i'll go to the service center of Hot mobile 2find out if there is any problem with the way i insert sim or anything else.
Regarding (1): It didnt damaged as it is still working on the current device(Iphone 5s).
Regarding (2): The seller said that it's a phone that was purchased on a local shop....nothing mentioned on blocked imei.
@GigaSPX
Picked Global from the begining.

Enabling Dual sim on LG-US998?

Hello all.
I just bought an LG V30+ (US998 model).
The phone is unlocked to any carrier and it has Android 7.1.2 and Hardware version Rev 1.0
It seems that the sim tray is the hybrid type in which you can insert an SD card or a second SIM card. However, when inserting a second sim card it is not detected. (rather obvious since this phone is sold as "single sim").
Would it be possible to enable the dual sim capabilities of the phone?
Software Info:
Baseband version: MPSS.AT.
2.5.c1.2-00017-8998_GEN_PACK-1-112143.14
Kernel: 4.4.63
Build Number: N2G47H
Software Version: US99810d
Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks Matt.
I was hoping that by unlocking the booloader or installing a custom rom from a dual sim version of the LG V30+ it could've been possible.
Is it then a matter of hardware limitations rather than software?
That's not a dual sim tray. It's just 1 sim 1 SD card

Hi Kenbo.
It has a hybrid sim card tray. It can definitely hold a second sim card (or an SD card).
That is why I was hoping that by doing some software changes the phone would recognize the second sim.

You would need firmware that supports it like H930D (64GB dual SIM) or H930DS (128GB dual SIM), neither of which are compatible with any of the North American variants.
Even flashing the H930DS firmware over Europe H930 gives a fake dual SIM icon, not actually enabled. And those two firmware are "compatible".

unlocked sprint S9+ to romstock samsung

Hello
I have an unlocked S9 + US from the operator Sprint:

that error wont cause any issues other than just plain being super annoying. Each USA carrier has something stupid built into their firmware that causes silly headaches like this. If you get a notif in the pulldown area, you should be able to long press on it and tell android to ignore it. If not, you might just need to find the U1 version of android 10 and flash that on your phone so it doesnt know its a sprint phone anymore. Phone amnesia for lack of a better way to describe it LoL
THX very much but I dont where I can find this U1 version of android 10 for s9+? Last question can I install a french firmware version?

you can install a French version if you like, but the U1 version is the unbranded version and you can just pick whatever language you want upon install. Honestly, i would just flash this https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...SM-G965U1/XAS/download/G965U1UEU7DTA5/314795/ by using patched Odin which can be found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
THX very after installation I insert my simcard. I have a message like my phone import info from sim card and now no message error and the CSC is XAA, no sign about SPR.
it seems good.

Question Xiaomi 12T Pro Firmware/modem failure! (Trouble with storage and eSIM)

Hi there!
I Have trouble with my Xiaomi 12T Pro. Firmware modem failure, when eSIM is enabled. Modem failure causes a lot of ramdumps to /data/vendor/ramdump/ And it fills up the storage.
Bootloader is unlocked, have root and TWRP. I installed the latest firmware modem from Xiaomi - this did not solve the problem.
Ramdump attached.
Help please!
Sorry for my bad English
There is two problem:
1. Spontaneously fills the memory in the phone until 0 KB remains. After the phone reboots into recovery mode and does not turn on until the Data section is cleared. After turning on the phone, the problem recurs, but not everytime.
Looks like, Filling of storage is stopping when the eSIM is off. I suspect that the problem is somehow related to eSIM, since there are also big problems with eSIM.
2. The eSIM profiles of AirAlo is working good. But the eSIM profile of a certain operator is not working in Ireland in the same time. Despite the fact that the physical sim of the same operator works fine. That eSIM was working good in in Latvia and Lithuania before, but not in Ireland in my phone. Also that eSIM profile is working good in iPhone (iPhone is not my)
When I install that profile, all networks in the phone is lost completely (and the physical sim stops working as well). The operator checked everything and excludes errors on his part. Screenshots are attachment

Nope. you can switch between U and U1 firmware but nothing really changes but if you try to flash other model firmware you either get an error or possibly brick the device. Samsung made sure the north American models wouldn't be able to be unlocked to be able to unlock the bootloader ever.

Does this mean that if I have activated my U1 in North America using a US Sim Card I still can not use a SIM card from another country while traveling? Or does the restriction go away once I activated it?

I'm pretty sure you can just swap your SIM if you wanted (as long as your CSC is unlocked carrier like XAA)
