Google Feed - Blank - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Hi,
My Google Feed is blank unless I go into settings and come back out without changing anything. I've flicked between Feed Enabled and Feed Disabled but still nothing.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue on a BLA-L29 129 firmware?
Thank you.

did you try to delete the data of "google" app in the settings?
it happened to me and this resolved it

So far so good, thank you

I have tried deleting the data and restarting but I still have a blank page. The only way I can get it to work is by opening the google app in the play store....it is very strange

When you are on the google Now Site (blank) then give the command "ok google" - what happened then? In my case - then the results appear. This was the issue with the firmware BLA-L29 C432 129. BLA L29 C432 131 it startet with normal working. And finaly with BLA-L29 C432 137 first weeks same issue. No content on the site till "ok google" and since 2 Weeks everything is working well. I don't change anything in settings - one day doesnt work without ok google - next day works like expected.

the issue has returned for me. I am on BLA-L29 C432 129.

uninstall the update - it's happening on various devices - i removed the update after experiencing the issues and voila all working again

I have auto updates turned off permanently, but I selected update all by mistake, which caused the issue, at first thought it was something else, so went through clearing the data and cache.

Having the same issue here-tried following the steps to clear the data but to no avail. Yet another Huawei app problem. My BBC news widget fails to update constantly too.

Same problem here, when you open your feed click on the search bar and then on any free soave on the screen. It should come back for a bit. Very annoying

Problem with HUAWEI device
Hi, I recently changed from a P20 PRO to a Mate 20 PRO, I used to check my google feed every now and then and I loved it, never had a issue, but since I made the change the feed is blank and in the options or configuration part the letters of the options are gray. I restarted the phone, installed older versions of google, etc. Some help please!

Honor 7 PLK-UL00 Recent apps not showing.

I am using latest EMUI version 4.0 in Honor 7 (PLK-UL00C675B351). It's recently used apps button when touched, is not showing anything, rather it turns my wallpaper black for a second and then restores. I have recorded my screen to show the exact problem being faced by me (thanks to new screen recording feature given in EMUI 4.0). I am not able to provide the link to the screen recording due to being a new member in xda.
Due to this I am unable to switch between apps and also not able to stop the unwanted apps that keep on running. Please tell me how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

Did you try a factory reset after backing up your apps and data using hisuite app?
You can restore the backup later and check if the problem still persists?

Have a factory reset and check as said in previous post.

I have a faced this problem too. I solved it by uninstalling the latest installed apps one by one. In my case seven adclear was probably causing this issue. You can try it too. Uninstalling is less pain than an entire reset.

Hi, I had tried each and everything for it. From factory reset to manual updating to existing EMUI version. Nothing solved that problem.
Few days back I was lying on my bed, exploring some unknown features. I came through the 'Floating Dock'. This thing actually solved my issue. This floating icon on home screen has a button which clears all apps consuming power and takes the phone to optimal level. After using it, my recent app widget issue is not creating that problem. I am happy now. Thanks for your help too.
Floating Dock helped me

Yes there is. Make sure you have updated to the latest ROM (EU is B380)
1 - Backup all your stuff with Huawei native app
2 - Factory reset and let it boot
3 - Setup your google account and nothing more. Also don´t restore any apps yet.
4 - Test incoming calls when screen is off.
5 - Setup Huawei account
7 - Install Skype and it will restore itself call and chat history
8 - Test Skype (I have problems with it but I have 2 additional devices with the same account at the same time that rings at the same time so it might be just me)
9- Install fresh remaining communications apps like Whatsapp. From my experience when you restore from backup they will bug the notifications, so it´s better a fresh install while just restoring the chat history from backup.
10 - Setup maximum priority for communication apps notification
11 - If you feel it´s necessary you can also set those apps not to be closed and be automatically launched at startup.

No,
just open Telephon Manager
Enable Notification Manager and then check the config
you also have to allow the apps in autostart manager
and protect them

I think its a huawei-wide problem, No Fix as får as i know
So there is no solution, just to wait and hope they will fix it. And how about rooting and putting some other ROM? Is there any stable ROM for PLK-TL01H?

It's probably cuz these are third party apps
It's from Play Store.
I also tried with b170 and b360 update. I dont have the notification problem in my Honor 7 Indian Version..
Most notification problems comes from restoring those apps from backup.
If you just install a fresh app after factory reset and then ONLY restore app history (if needed as Skype doesnt need) you shouldnt get any notification problem.
Well phone is new, there is no any backup. I tried factory reset, same problem. I am waiting 14 days for huawei unlock code, i will root phone and then move apps from data/app to system/app, that should solve the problem. I am on EMUI 4.0.1 so that's all with marshmallow, everything else is working ok.

Notification settings changing to default

Hello guys.
I'm having an issue with the notification settings, every time I change the notification tone and vibrate after some minutes it changes back to default.
For example, I selected a different notification tone of the one I have in my general Android settings, and the vibrate changed to Long, but after 5 minutes WhatsApp changes it to the default notification settings.
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp apk and it didn't solved the issue, also have restarted the device just after changing the notification settings.
I had the notification sound on my SD card and the issue happened, then I changed to the device memory and still happening.
All permissions are allowed for the app.
It's the first time it happens to me with any of my devices.
My phone is a HTC 10 unlocked / developer edition, running Android 7.0.
Does anyone have an idea why this is happenning?
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem on S7 edge.
I use whatsapp beta.
Have you tried uninstalling WhatsApp, restarting the phone and seeing if the problem goes away?

It depends on the compatibility between the 2 file systems involved (maybe not completely different...)
For example, about 15 years ago, starting from Windows XP, people was able to convert FAT or FAT32 disks to NTFS without reformatting issuing a simple DOS command:
convert drive: /fs:ntfs
I have a Mate 20 Pro, LYA-AL00 and I just received the 9.1 update (not beta). First of all, it was large - over 4.5 GB. Yes, third party app notifications are instant, BUT they don't provide a summary AND they cannot be removed from the lockscreen with a swipe. If they can be changed, I haven't figured it out yet.
Camera AI can now be turned on or off. I like that. The AI also seems to be faster.
IMO, I could take or leave this update.

Nope. Sure isn't
As for other new features, I haven't found them. Honestly, I want to roll back. The notifications thing really bothers me. Even on the drop down menu, third party notifications cannot be swiped away. You have to open the app to remove the notification. It sucks.
BTW, the Chinese update added FIVE bloatware programs, including a karaoke app, a browser, a news service, and a couple others I couldn't figure out. Thankfully, they were deleatable.

Google Photos Not Syncing When Managed Manually in Battery Options

I have the Google Photos app set to be managed manually in power settings but the pictures still do not sync when I take them with the camera. I need to manually open the app to get the sync to start.
Ive been reading around and it seems on other phones modifying this option fixes the issues, but not on the mate 20 pro.
Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Damn, was hoping Android 10 would fix this issue. I wonder why its happening, turning off the battery saver features allows all my other apps to function in the background.
I think it's an app issue, it's also happening on other devices of mine such as Xiaomi. At some point I'll try rolling back to an earlier version of the app and see if it's working.
You all obviously didn't get the memo or notification that Google photo no longer backups automatically.
This might help..

This is not related to what we are talking about, we're not worried about anything to do with google drive. Just the Photos application auto-syncing in the background - works on some phones and not others.
