LG G4 LS991 Bricked Need Help For SD Card Unbrick Solution! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is my very first thread and I'm super new here, my LG G4 LS991 got bricked for downgrading firmware. I tried QFIL but it failed saying ''Device is not in Firehose mode'' I had shorted TP as well but didn't work at all. Eventually, I've given up flashing this using USB. I've found that many people entered into download mode using an SD Card but most of them are H811 variant where mine is LS991.
If anyone has unbricked their LG G4 LS991 using an SD Card please give me the instructions it will save a life! my phone is in the coma for five months.

Are you still need this file??

Yes it is still bricked, do you have any solution? Please kindly let me know!!!

Yes i have solution, i make my unbrick file for LS991ZVI ARB4 by sdcard repair. If your version is same i can give you the file. Or if your version is lower then me you also can use this but you can't downgrade lower version. You have to flash the same ARB version of firmware (ZVD,ZVF,ZVG,ZVI etc).

Here is the SD Card unbrick dump file For LG LS991 Device http://bit.ly/ls991arb4 . This file made from the original version of ZVI firmware.
=> Use SD Card minimum 32GB if not work with this size then use another one like 64GB and 128GB.
=> When your SD Card is ready insert it on bricked device and go to download mode.
=> When your device is run in to download mode just remove the SD Card and start flash with LGUP tools.
=> That's all.
Note: It's ARB4, only support all version of firmware that contain arb4 and up (lg release up to arb4 on this model of device).

Your English is alright as I am not a strong english person myself hahaha. Anyways, the method you provided worked indeed. However, the device is now able to access download mode but LGUP is seeing it as "unknown" I have tried several tutorials but to no avail.

I have already follow this step, but when on step 8, there is no screen like this:

Press action to Download
Or
Press REC to Exit
On my device it's only :

Re: There is no Screen: 'SD Download' when flash ROM from SD
I know the problem is.
My BootLoader is 5.17, and must have a card key in my SD Card to use it.
My question is how to write a card key to my SD Card, so that I can flash my ROM.
Please help me
Thanks a lot
Try bootloader downgrade
There are issues regarding re-flashing w/bootloader 5.17. I had a 5.17 too before and I tried downgrading to 5.15 that allowed me to reflash my ROM. Check this out:
http://www.romkitchen.de/
search for the topic "how to unlock your device" (Thanks to Lumpi for this one)
I have read also somewhere in the forum that allows a workaround to get pass the 5.17 bootloader, I just can't remember exactly where.
Good luck!
Re: Try bootloader downgrade
I've readed it, and downloading file from romkitchen.de is in progress.
Well, I can't downgrade 5.17 to 5.15 because my USB Connection on my XDA ROM was erased, so I can't downgrade from PC.
It should be downgraded by SD Card only.
My question is: In http://romkitchen.de there's option to download like this
How would you like your ROM?
installer EXE
zipped NK.nb1 (SD-card flashing)
zipped NK.nbf (advanced users)
I must choose zipped NK.nb1 (SD-card flashing). But is it included ROM 5.15?
IF it is included ROM 5.15, thanks God. But if not, it's useless..
Please help me...
Thanks a lot..

Bootloader
Bootloader is different from the ROM. You can get Wallaby bootloader 5.15 from the ftp site:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wallaby/
Check this thread also:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=97306
This process worked for me. During that time (GSM error), I wasn't also able to connect to my PC thus downgraded my bootloader and re-flashed ROM via SD card.

Still problem: Can I format with MMC not SD?
Thanks for the tutorial.
I've already tried with my MMC 512MB.
But it didn't worked.
It didn't show "SD Download". There was nothing, only Diagnostic when entered Bootloader 5.17
Was it because of my MMC Card?
Should it be used SD Card?
I don't have SD Card, only MMC.
Can I use it?
Or, is there another solution for my problem?
I think, if there were a software for ActiveSync CAB on PDA, it would help to connect to PC, since my ROM couldn't connect to PC.
Or, is there any software to format MMC Card to be an SD Card?
Please help me
Thanks a lot for your support.

Dear all,
I'm very happy today. It worked for me.
Thanks a lot for your support.
I'm great to be in this forum.
Thanks a lot.
At my explanation below, finally I found, I did wrong procedure.
I inserted my MMC when it was off, then full reset
In the tutorial, it was not mentioned detail.
The right procedure: insert SD/MCC when it is on, then full reset.
But anyway, it worked, I love my XDA.......
God bless you all.

Can you confirm that it has Flash 10.1 support?
Please look in your settings under "Phone Info->Software Version". Is it a V10b-xxx-xx-xxxx Version? If yes, I think I have the link for downloading this version directly from lg. Will do this tonight and have a look into it. But I'm very skeptical about that it really has flash...
Nopes, doesnt have flash.
The version of software is V10b-OCT-02-2010

[Q] HTC HD2 Downgrade win 7 to 6.5

hi, and is it possible to downgrade an HD2 (i've install 7 on it) to win mo 6.5 (original rom of HTC)?
If it is what is the procedure?
'Cause i cannot syncrhonize it with active sync
Thanks a lot!
I believe it is to low level format your SD card and flash an original ROM (in fact I think some other custom ROMs can still be flashed instead) - however, to sync with win7 you need to use Zune - it is a free download and much better than media player and activsync

1. Download your CORRECT STOCK ROM via HTC Website or your carrier website (if it is a branded HD2)
2. Extract the downloaded file. Find the file named: RUU_signed.nbh
Rename it to: leoimg.nbh
3. Copy it to the root directory of your micro sd card. Dont forget to reformat your micro sd card with FAT 32. Remember that your sd card need to be formatted because WP7 using different format.
4. Put your sd card to your phone. Go into bootloader, and follow the onscreen instruction.
Remember it will erase everything, including your HSPL.
Cheers..
Thanks a lot!!! exactly the type of response i need!
I forward this procedure to my friend who have the problem!!

SOLVED: Flash won't start
Hey guys,
I tried the process silverwind described, but the flash didn't start. I was just stuck in the bootloader.
The problem was the sd card. First I tried it with the original 2GB sd card...didn't work. Then I used a 6GB SD card... and the process started.
Maybe this helps if somebody faces the same problem...

Are you able to enter download mode ?
If yes then you can simply flash stock ROM via PC Odin to unbrick your device

OP: Not sure if there is an image available. Nothing I could find in the forums here or via quick Google search. You might need a JTAG service. I recommend these guys:
http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/
They don't have your phone listed, but they might be working on the method for it...
Edit: Sorry, realized you were trying to make your own. You might check out the method for another phone and see if you can reverse engineer it with the files you need for yours...

i can help you. first you need a micro sd card that is the size of your tablet. for example, if you have a 16gb tablet, you need a 16gb sd card. if you have a 8gb tablet, you need a 8gb sd card. ok now that you got the sd card (this process will delete everything on the sd card, make sure to back it up!), download this ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/ ) this puts the .img onto the sd card. Put the sd card into a slot on the computer (you need an adaptor in order to put it in your regular sd slot, or you need one that plugs into your usb drive) open the program, select the drive letter the sd card is assigned to (you can find this out in My Computer). then select the .img file. click start. it will put it on the sd card. after its done, put the sd card in your tablet, and attempt to turn it on. hopefully it works.
