Doesn't work for me - if others want to try you can sign up here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox
on 131 and still have the options greyed out even when updated to the beta version and rebooted.
Well done Huawei!

Same phone same problem the Beta does not help

I was having the same issue and after clean/cache cache from Google APP, it was working again

not working ...If you want to unlock phone not working
Working ONLY if you press O button without OK GOOGLE or Hey google
shame for Google

I had the same problem yesterday. I fixed it changing the language.

What did you change to/from?
I can get it to the point where it starts to select voice match by switching to another version of English (US rather than UK), but it then fails and greys out the option again. No sign of an update for us C782 users either - not even a firmware listed in the pipeline on Firmware Finder....

Same happend to me. Once you change the language you need to go to settings --> appl --> google and delete the cache and memory. Return to google now and start over. Using English (US) it is working for me.

That seems to have worked finally for me - so the firmware for UK only phones requires English US language and I have to listen to my phone talk to me in an American accent - hurrah!
Maybe Huawei will get round to fixing it in their next update in about October

In fact, I think it is a google problem. I have already reported it.
And in my case, I am from Argentina, I live in Colombia and my phone speaks spanish (spain) so...

Anyone else still having this issue? On my Mate 10 Pro, I switched from English (Australia) to US, cleared catch and tried enabling Voice Match again. It got to the screen where it said You are already setup for voice match. When I click Continue, I get a blank screen and get redirected to the first page of voice match setup. By then, the option for Voice Match is again disabled.

man ... from my experience, the fix is random! sometimes i do things that worked and sometimes the same thing dont work anymore... im pretty stable since my last problem! but did you try go in and out of beta program?

Google broke with 131 update for me tried everything but nothing worked.
I got the 132 update through firmware finder last night and it fixed ok Google from any screen and it also unlocks my phone. Language is set to English uk

I am in the beta program but no luck. I managed to turn voice match on once after a combination of steps but it switched itself off again.

U should be in and out, this way u have to install the app again

Ok Google issue seems finally solved
I have the Asia Version of Mate 10 Pro dual sim (C636), finally after installing the latest OTA update yesterday (8.0.0.141), vocal command of Google assistant came back to normal after 3 months black out. Finally can be vocally activated from home screen without tapping the command; only the first time need to be activated manually to set up the voice command.

it also works for the non-Pro, the phone responds but if you have the security features enabled, it'll still require you to unlock the phone.

I don't want them to contact me and I'm not going to forget my password..I just want to turn the nag off......Ive checked the settings and I haven't found a way to do it. Ive also searched here and all over the web and cant seem to find anything.

Can you take a screen shot of it please, I've never seen that before.
I second what @mjones73 said... I haven't gotten that ever, grab a screen shot so we can take a look at it.
A little preliminary stuff, have you ran Addons Detector to see if there is some push stuff going on?

I cant get a screen shot, I accidentally hit continue on it and then cancelled it....if I do that it goes away for a little while but comes back. As for the addons detectors no I havent I can try but this has been happening on multiple ROMs and I just reflashed the phone.

And what happens when you hit continue? It believe it's just asking you to add additional verification options to your google account.

Why? You should have verification setup even if you have it toggled off in your Google account settings. I believe this is also information needed to do a password reset if needed, so it's actually kind of important.

loki,
Am getting the screen once in a while. Like you, I do not intend to provide google/gmail with my phone number voluntarily as well. In my case, when I got the screen, I went to the settings and killed play store(Force Stop). That screen disappeared when I installed a new app using play store App again.

I finally gave in and did it and it went away. Pretty sure google already has my phone number anyways. Still kind of messed up though considering all of the hacking and data spills happening lately...I don't totally feel comfortable giving ANYONE my info lately.
In my case, I log into the gmail account associated with the phone on a Desktop using browser. My guess is that google wants to make sure that the primary account associated with the phone is active. Still it sucks that everything considered personal are now targeted information for Corporates like Google.

of course they have all this information, the point here is with your approval they legitimize it; they come clean. in practice but unfortunately none of it matters.
google is a disgrace and it blemished "open source".
I have to agree, yet another data-mining ploy by Google.
Anyway, I seem to have (at least temporarily) stopped this notification by hitting continue, then deleting the pre-filled phone number and then backing out of the recovery options screen.
We'll see if it comes back. I too have no interest in giving out more personal information than is absolutely necessary to make my phone work.

Is not needed to change the default dialer in settings?
Enviado desde mi XT1021 mediante Tapatalk
Much nicer than the default that comes with 6.0 Marshmallow. I just took the plunge to unlock my bootloader, flash 6.0 Marshmallow for U.S. Cellular and now replaced the dialer with this much better one. So glad it was ported. Thanks to the porter/dev that did that!
I installed this on stock rooted 6.0 and enabled all permissions. Contacts works and the new dialer will open but I can't access the call screen. So incoming calls ring but I can't answer. Same for outgoing calls - I can select a contact and it dials out but I cant manage the call. May play around with this more to see if it will work on stock rom.

Somehow I miss CM7 dialer of my Atrix 4G. It was possible to merge Facebook and LinkeIn contacts with regular ones

I'm trying to remember what I did to fix the issues the others were having where they could not control phone calls, I too had that issue at first. That is what is going on here I believe. I had purchased exDialer, so I switched from "Phone" default to "exDialer" and then back again and then it started to behave correctly. I think you can get exDialer free on on trial. I use both dialers. I have a shortcut on the desktop to exDialer but the dialer takes over during a incoming or outgoing phone call. Hope that helps.

Set as default once again. I had the same, already set. But after setting it again it started working properly.
And I've granted all permissions, just in case (though MM will ask you).
That's exactly what I went in and did. Totally worked. Sorry I forgot to come back in and update my comment.
Works fine here. (ZephyrOS 7.0)
Guys, change a Phone to default app and charge all permissions.
And how do you find new Dialer? I think small size caller picture is not so cool...
Works like a charm. Don't forget to set default app to calls.
Thanks!

Anyone have issues with "Ok Google" responding when the phone is locked?

I had a Verizon version of the V30 a couple weeks and it worked fine with "Ok Google" answering me regardless of whether the screen was on/off/locked/unlocked/charging/etc.
I switched to T-Mobile and bought a TMO version of the V30. It is not responding to "Ok Google" commands UNLESS the screen is on (locked or not). It won't work even if the phone is charging.
I've set up trusted voice (and tried deleting and retraining many times). I've even clear the cache on the Google Now/Assistant app and haven't had any luck.

Google Smart Lock is also active under trusted agents:
Any ideas why it's not working on this V30. I can't tell what I've done different versus the previous V30 I had.
It's working fine on mine from off and locked to open and ready. Edit to add that I have the Tmo version.
Good to know it's not just with the TMO version.
I've tried clearing the data and uninstalling the update for the Google app. No luck.
I also even tried turning on LG's built in voice recognition that is suppose to to unlock the phone and it won't even let me set it up:
I guess my next set is to do a factory wipe of the the phone and try and start all over.

The reason the LG Voice Unlock is giving you the mic error is because Google is still selected under the trust agent settings, so the mic is listening for OK Google when you are trying to record. If you unselect Google from the trust agents the LG Voice Unlock will work.
I'm having the same issue as you in that I can't get OK Google to work with the screen off (it works fine on the lock screen when the screen is lit), and I tested this to see if it may have been a hardware issue. The only thing I can think of at this point is that it is some software issue with the Google app that will hopefully get fixed in an update.

I did uninstall all the apps I thought were bloatware that it would let me. I disabled a few things too that I couldn't uninstall but have since re-enabled most (Duo and Facebook App Manager are still disabled) and it still won't work.

If I can't get it to work in the next few days I'm taking it back to TMO for a warranty exchange. Hopefully it's not all for naught and I have to waste time setting up a new one only to have the exact same problem.

Honor View 10 Updated with Face Unlock and More

Today owners of the Honor View 10 will be receiving updates that include several new features. This XDA TV video shows off the face unlock, intelligent screen on, and smart rotate.
Face Unlock
The face unlock is easy to use and surprisingly fast. The phone will detect when it has been picked up, see your face and unlock your phone in about one second. It works at difficult angles and distances as well.

Smart Rotate
Smart rotate is a feature we have seen on many other phones, so there isn’t too much to go into detail on here. When activated, your phone will hold its orientation to be consistent with your face.
Intelligent Screen On
The new intelligent screen on feature will now be able to detect when your eyes are looking at your screen and suspend the screen timeout or dim triggers.

Hey.. Had a similar problem with Amazon... For me chrome was the cause of the problem.. I disabled the allow apps to launch and background running.. So enabling them resolved the issue for me..

That'd make sense.. Amazon and other apps use webview so chrome (chrome is the webview default now) not launching in bg means it won't start...

ya i disabled background running of chrome that was causing problem now everything is working fine .Thanks
I have rooted my Honor View 10. Can anyone tell how i can manually install this update?? I am unable to install it via OTA. The installation always fails at some point.
I didn't get the update yet.... Any workarounds to get it?
Check whether Chrome is allowed to run in the background. If not, allow and then check,
please

Question How to disable Automatic system updates?

Does anyone know how to disable auto system updates? I turned off auto updates in developer options but my phone has previously installed security patches automatically anyways. I don't want to upgrade to Android 12 right now as I've heard OnePlus botched things, so I want to hold off and don't want it auto updating on me. I don't know why it doesn't respect the setting in developer options

Welcome to the android Dev scene. From your question I extrapolate that you are on your first android device.
Thank you for taking apple out to Pasteur.

No, I've owned Android for ten years and rooted/modded them all (except this one since TWRP isn't available yet). As I said in my OP I already turned automatic updates off in developer settings. OnePlus isn't respecting that, so I'm wondering if there's another way to stop it or if anyone else has had this issue.

I personally like software and security updates. I never turn off auto update. The reason being stageFright exploit. It can ruin your life.

I despise auto updates. My phone forced the update to Android 12 on me last night despite me disabling auto updates and I have had several issues already, it's a perfect example of why auto updates are horrible. My RCS chat was not sending, my haptic feedback is now even worse than it was before on notifications (almost unnoticeable now), I had random notification sounds but no notifications come in, I had a message come in that I didn't get a push notification for until several hours after the timestamp, the launcher has issues where the only way to close it is to dismiss from the very top of the screen (I could swipe down from anywhere to close it before), I have a persistent VPN notification that the system refuses to let me dismiss. All of this in the first day since being forced to update. In addition this garbage material you has been shoved down my throat, my GApps now all have hideous colors based on my wallpaper and can't be made to look half decent, and my hidden apps (Which are hidden because I don't use them often, not for security) now require me to enter a code in my dialer instead of swiping right quickly in the launcher (making them a pain to access when I do want them). Who knows what other issues I'll run into. I had zero issues on Android 11 since I bought the phone and on the first day of being forced to update I ran into several bugs and just plain terrible UI/UX issues. This is exactly why I don't auto update.
I always read the changelog and if it's open source I look at the GitHub commits to see what changes were made before updating apps, and I back up my current version before updating. It's incredibly common for me to find changes that I don't like or some new bug that gets introduced. I have some apps I update frequently because their changelog brings actual good features and UI designs that are bug free, and some I almost never update because changes were made I don't want. If this is how OnePlus does business it will not only be my first phone from them, but my last. Even my Samsung (Which is known for being anti developer) Tablet respects my decision not to update. What software I run on MY device is my business, not some corporate busybody who thinks he knows better than me and probably has zero actual coding experience.
With respect to Security updates, there is absolutely no reason to include them with other system and UI updates. And even security updates shouldn't be force updated.
Sorry for the rant, I absolutely hate forced updates.
You pretty much disabled them by unlocking the bootloader. Sorry if no one else told you, psyckonaut talked about this week's ago
Bootloader unlock matched with magisk disabled it
Relock and do full stock reset to match your baseband

I'm definitely on the N20. Personally I wouldn't update. I had zero issues on 11, first day with 12 and I have several bugs. I discovered another one today, same app appearing multiple times in the recents menu.

Huh? I didn't unlock my bootloader, what gave you the impression I did?. There's no point until TWRP is available. Why would I void my warranty when I can't flash TWRP?

You'll be on a different schedule than those of us that bought it unlocked. Carrier phones can be slower to roll out updates than unlocked phones

Sorry to hear that. I had several bugs in A11 that were fixed by the update to A12 (camera app had crashed, a 3rd party app would sometimes freeze and restart).

Hopefully you don't experience any of the issues I did. I didn't have any issues on A11 with the camera app or any 3rd party apps, although I installed a GCam port shortly after I got the phone.

I have come to a theory. That a major ota update will be pushed out to the unlock variety of devices as test run and to irokn out the bugs and then the carriers will push out the update to its customers.

There's probably some merit to that in general. Carriers probably want to let the manufacturers work out most of the bugs then they can push the update to their devices. I haven't had a carrier phone since before smartphones existed so I don't really know what their update schedule is like.
