I think it will be easy find this features on the third-party apps on the google play.
Battery is not the best quality of P20 lite be prepared for extra drain.

Unfortunately

So Mate 10 lite will be a better choice then. What do you think ?

I tested both and I prefer P20 lite

If i'm not mistaken, the p10 lite had those features. Its a pity that those features are missing here. Also interested in knowing is there PrivateSpace on this device?

[Q] Multi Screen

Hi all
Does anybody know if the X2 supports multi screen view/split screen?
Thanks
It's a EMUI 3.1 feature on the P8 max. So Without any kangVIP custom like on the X1, it's not available on X2, until EMUI 3.1 is ported on its big screen!
If X2 nowadays users can confirm that'd be better...
Which version of EMUI is on the X2?

The Multi-Screen feature is screen mirroring. Tried it with my Roku Streaming Stick and it works flawlessly.

I am referring to having two (or more) apps on the screen at once.

I'm aware. There is a feature called "Multi-Screen", which I was trying to clear this up for you. There is no MultiWindow feature that I have found yet. I'll let you know if I find something.

Thank's for the clarification. I would have expected this feature to be available on a device whose screen size is 7".
It really is something Google should have addressed natively in Android.

I agree, seems like a waste of real estate. I also have a Galaxy Note 4 and MultiWindow is one of my favorite features.

MOD

Make a mod in the call pickup (receive) from the fingerprint senser, for the Redmi 5 Plus or all xiaomi devices,,,, please thank you xda devloper team...
I've been searching for that feature left and right ... i have no idea why it doesn't exist.
Edit : MIUI Pro has a feature where it can utilize the Home Button for answering, but that is not a physical button or sensor. Pretty useless if u ask me.

Yes.I need it too.
I don´t know if it is exactly what you are looking for, there is an app called "Easy Gestures - Fingerprint gesture app" in Play Store that it looks that can do this, I never tried.

99% there won't be a pick up call gesture in that app , it needs to be made specifically for the device i think. Built into a Rom or something.

Not needed, fingerprint is a feature present in all newer devices actually, it just need some elevated permissions to work correctly. It works perfect in miui roms, I didn´t try yet in aosp roms.
Of course all of the apps that are implemented natively with the rom they suppose to work better, more responsive and with a lower battery consumption.

Emui 9.1

gsmarena's battery test shows amazing battery life on the p30 pro and they attributed it to the better stand by drain compared to the mate 20 pro, if that is due to optimizations in emui 9.1 then i definetly want it as soon as possible , if not then i dont think it matters much , i cant see any real improvements from what i have seen in p30 pro videos

Nope you're wrong. Emui 9.1 has much smoother gestures animation, espicially the home gesture. Emui 9.1 enabels 3d party apps to show its notifications on aod. New icon pack and it's all the same form now. Optimizatiin is also a big thing on Emui 9.1 for sure.

And it has the new night mode with auto 6sec not 4 to get brighter and much details photos
Also , EMUI 9.1 comes with a "Newer file system" which improves the Read/Write times and thereby improving the overall fluidity system-wide. Hopefully it'll be released soon for the Mate 20 Pro.
cant chance file systems without wiping
I saw that Nova 3i already got 9.0.1

I've seen that as well on an article, hope they will announce it on our mate 20 Pro, gesture are not that great on EMUI 9.0. I tried fluid gesture (and remove nav bar with ADB) but it is a bit buggy especially when you unlock the phone it glitch with nav bar that appears and disappear...
Wait and see really looking forward to get the update.

I hope it will be possible. Apple did it without needing a wipe a couple of years ago on iOS. So maybe Huawei can do it too. Fingers crossed.
So one question the camera improvements in the p30 pro are they software related or hardware? I know that we won't get 50 times zoom haha but what about the rest?
I can't wait till I get the EMUI 9.1 update on my Mate 20 Pro as it will have AOD display for third party applications

Probably the stock launcher. The first Pixel introduced swipe up to enter the app drawer instead of a dedicated app button that takes up the space of an app icon and many other Android launchers quickly incorporated that feature.

Android Q Beta For Mi 9

Hey guys as you know google I/O is finished and android q is intruduced
And a good news is mi 9 is in beta device list
If you have unlocked bootloader you can try it now
But these issues is present in this version
1. Alarm does not ring when the device is switched off.
2. Device restarts after user selects wireless projection device in the “Wireless display”.
3. “Settings” app stops running after user deactivates shortcut to mute device.
4. “Settings” app stops running when “Gesture” is selected in “Settings”
5. “File” app stops running after refresh.
6. Unable to switch screen color in “Settings”
7. Unable to ‘Add a fingerprint’
https://www.mi.com/global/androidqbeta/
Thanks. Not really worth it atm, but i'll try it as soon as it's stable enough.
It seems that google must add under display fingerprint support natively in android
All devices that have this type of fingerprint cant use it on this version
Chinese version is supported?

Why would you need an unlocked bootloader? This is from Xiaomi. Am I missing something?
Does it have pure Android UI like pixel or it's the ugly miui?
It's pure Android, but pretty unoptimized. Feels choppy, has aliasing in the "round corners" of the display and only supports Chinese and English language.

I don't like MIUI either but can't really complain about it, I purchase it knowing full well it came with it. 300hrs left then it's gone.

That's great. Maybe could be a good base once it gets optimized a bit more.
its very buggy and cant use as a daily driver
gesture navigation is exactly what xiaomi is doing since android 8
i hope that dark mode brings really black background not a gray one but it seems that google is trying pure black on some of the os but not completed
and my summery is android q is just a polish on android pie and nothing big is happening
i like privacy upgrades
oh and one thing more
at startup there are English and Chinese but after that in setting all languages are present
Hate this miui 10 for hiding notification icons on status bar, hope they showing in Q, cheers
If it's anything like the Mix 2S Android P beta, this will be the only build for it.

That is sad, but it makes sense that Xiaomi doesn't want to provide an official stock rom since it means that users might not be using MIUI, which their business model is based around.

Once Android Q will be officially released... Can we install this version too?
Hopefully Pixel Experience comes for the Mi 9 soon, stock looks too good.

All Xiaomi's non-Android-One devices have a 360h wait time before unlocking their bootloaders.

why is there no pie control anymore?

i loved to use Paranoid Android's PIE Control on my old phone for years, now on Poco, no Custom-Rom seems to have this feature. Why?

You can try LMT, very lightweight and customizable (I had it all black with white icons) : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150

Anyhow, Google has removed the mechanism used by these apps (also the XDA gesture one) in Android 11, so pie controls don't have much future unfortunately...

damnit google ^^ well i found a workaround because i really don't want to use the stock navigation, i now use LMT and fortunally the custom-rom i use offer a navigation switch quick panel, so if i really need to go inside the settings, i can switch it on, navigate with the stock one and can still use LMT again outside. Thats kinda dumb but it works and it's at least something..

Ok, that's an acceptable solution. Are you talking about Omni ROM ?
P.S.: Here is the article explaining in details the removal of the overscan feature used by LMT and others : https://www.xda-developers.com/google-confirms-overscan-gone-android-11-crippling-third-party-gesture-apps/
