Appalachian Engineering a Fix for a Torn Moto360 Sport band - Moto 360 2015

Like so many folk, the band on my Moto360 Sport tore. Pain in the ass. I got it fixed/replaced once, but of course, it tore again. No such luck the second time around. But I love my watch. Its not perfect, but I love it. So with traditional fixes out the window, I moved to non-traditional fixes. I believe that the pics below illustrate an elegant solution:

interesting. My strap just broke out of warranty. I was looking for a silicone glue but even for a tiny amount it would cost 20$ for something thats a 50/50 fix.
I cant beleive Moto designed something like this, its the first thing I said when I recieved it as a gift "what happens when the strap breaks?"
Im going though different repair mods in my head. Im debating if I can cut out a space in the the rubber the size and shape of a regular pinned ban and then use either a pin or long thin screw to hold it in.
nice job but where did you get that little metal piece an does it ding into your arm?

I made an aluminum stand for my gTablet...

I made an aluminum stand for my gTablet today. Its nothing fancy, you can buy them online for about $30, but I'm learning to work with metal and happy with the results
I made it tall enough so that it is stable in portrait mode.

You can see the construction and more pics here
Next step will be to get our favorite green guy on there...I'm thinking acid-etched, but a sticker may be a lot simpler
Very nice.. maybe a duct tape hinge at the top bend (with a retaining piece across the middle of the two uprights) for portability?

I have a Lego stand for portability...
I can't take credit for the design - I saw something similar online and then gave my 10 year old $5 to make me something similar
Wow. That's really creative. I like both of them but especially the lego piece.

Another protective "case" option - Sugru

anyone plan on using Sugru instead of a case? idk how practical it would be with those 4 corner rubber pieces, if they would make it tough to put the Note in and out of my pockets...

you can order Sugru here: https://sugru.com/us/buy
anyone think that it's practical or no?
Wrong thread and I rather put a thick rubber band around it.
if an admin could move this to Accessories i'd appreciate it
tx --- art.
Sugru corners are the best phone protection. You can't drop your phone on a regular surface and not have it hit one of the 1/8" raised corners first. The material is bouncy but stiff and takes up a ton of shock. You can peel it off and redo it. Best of all you aren't turning your 8mm thick phone into a 1" thick brick and get to keep the aesthetics that the company intended.

So presumably as long as you drop it on something flat, the thick corners will absorb the shock? Interesting. Still ugly, but..

Clear protector/skin for the back??

I tried searching and couldn't find an answer for my question.
I just recently purchased a refurbed Asus Transforer TF101 + dock. I want to protect the screen of course, but also want to protect the back. I really love the look and texture of the back of the tablet. I want to get a clear protector for it, but I'm afraid because of the TF101's unique texture, the clear protectors(wet installs) won't properly adhere to it. Does anyone have experience + pictures with their install?
Thanks
This is a skinomi techskin. I bought it because it was the first product out there for the transformer, maybe the new stuff is thinner/better but this works fine. Its a soft film like invisibleshield/bodyguardz/phantomskinz and as you can see, the material actual conforms slightly to the texture, at least to the dimpled parts. What might not be apparent here is there are still some marks from the soapy liquid used for lubrication on installation. Its been on the tablet since May of last year and it still hasn't cleared completely up, so i would suggest getting a colored one if that kind of stuff bothers you.
Fits in the dock fine, just takes a little bit of extra push to get it totally in there to engage the lock due to it being slightly thicker.

Stand/Podium

im looking for something like this http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/p/htdroid-dna_clunipodium_4
that one loses stickiness after short time according to reviewers.
anyone know of a stand/podium I can buy? just something to stand it up, for example at computer desk. I got spoiled from the kickstand on my old T-bolt.

Verizon sells these for $12 in store. Now if you use it the way it is intended it will cut off a small portion of the bottom of your screen, plus the viewing angle is a little steep. So what I did was if you notice in pic 2, that bottom flat piece is a sliding shelf for stability. I peeled the rubber foot off the bottom of it and stuck it on top, so now I can rest my DNA fully exposed backwards against the stand, and the little rubber foot keeps it from sliding off. This gives me more of a 45 degree viewing angle and looks nicer imo.

DAYJOY Luxury Aluminum Alloy bumper case

Anyone use these cases? What you think? I just ordered the silver.

I don't have one but have looked at it many times on ebay.
Makes me wonder if the back panel is gonna pop off if you drop the device and then the phone goes flying and the glass cracks in to thousand pieces?? ...the back panel is being put in place by some kind of snap on feature. I would Like to see screw assembly instead.

I have one that says Yoo Don on the packaging but it looks the same. I put it on and took it right back off because it is impossible to open charging flap with fingernail, might be able to with a knife tip or something. The back does indeed snap into place and seems pretty secure but wouldn't expect it to add any protection if phone was dropped.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I will let you know what I think when mine comes in a couple of weeks.
