Just don't put it on the Qi wireless charging pad. There, Qi wireless charging is "disabled".
If you don't want the phone on (and why wouldn't you?) just turn the phone off and plug in, instead of using Qi wireless charging pad.
If I'm sleeping I have my phone face down on bedside table, sound and vibration scheduled to be off, and plugged in charging. But since it's also my alarm, I have the sound scheduled to come back on a couple minutes before the alarm.
I have several USB-C 10ft/3 meter charging cords (you can get 3 for $8 with free shipping online).

This Qi wireless charging pad automatic turn on feature is great for when your power button malfunctions. Phones get older, things break.
On the Motorola Quark series (Droid Turbo/Moto Turbo/Moto Maxx) several people were able to figure out whether it was their power button that had jammed or whether their phone had actually died. Phone wouldn't turn on.
We told them [B"]Go to a carrier store. Put the phone on one of the Qi wireless charging pads on display. "[/b] If it turns on, it's the button. If it doesn't, you've got bigger issues.

I've read in another forum that a Qi wireless charger will turn the phone on to charge it- does any know if this is how it works? If the phone is off, the Qi charger will turn it on and then perform a charging? What if it is drained completely?

The Qi Wireless Charger works whether your phone is charged or not.. I went to the Verizon store and asked to see the charger demo'd... I placed my powered off, Fully Charged, Broken-power-button-Droid Turbo on the charger and it Came to life.
I immediately configured the phone with an alternate power button app to control the screen on/off. FYI None of the apps I found will actually power the phone on from off, but will control the screen once it is powered.
I actually tried everything in this forum, short of the disassembly of the phone but that was next...
The program download.. Reboot Fast Boot; I couldn't get it to download correctly. after about 3 hours I quit... drove to the store and the rest is history. So Glad Not to have Lost everything!..

Luckily for many, it was "just" the power button.
Many people then actually bought a pad for the first time to keep their phones on until they could get the power button repaired.

Prime won't charge

Haven't used the prime much since picking up my SGS3, but I powered it on and plugged in the charger. It made a audible 'ding' and flashed a picture of a battery. Didn't think much of it but about 15 minutes later noticed it wasn't charging. Checked settings-->Battery and said not charging. Plugged into usb and pc recognized it, popped up the auto play and the prime did the same screen flash of a battery and ding. Can transfer files fine, did a few pics. But still not charging according to 'battery' in settings and % is still dropping .... Any ideas?

I have the same issue, try charging it through the keyboard dock. I find if I plug it in directly to the tablet it trickle charges but says its not (will only go up slowly and only when screen is off possibly even the tablet itself), its to do with the charger, it is has some sort of transistor to switch it between 5V and 15V so I've heard, prime requires the 15V, but it gets stuck in 5V - only plugging it in to the keyboard dock works for me.
Whether what I've said above is true I don't really know I'm only going off what I've read, if anyone has a fix for this please mention it!!

Well before I went to bed last night, I plugged in my prime to my PC, powered off and went to sleep. Wake up, turn it on, and I'm still at 38% and dropping. Hasn't charged at all. But PC see it just fine still. I'm baffled! Anyone else have some insight?
When you guys charge your prime, do you get a battery image flashed on the screen? It's maybe 3" diagnal and an audible 'ding'? Last time I used it, it updated the firmware to the .28 and I really didn't use it after so I don't remember how it acts when it get plugged in for charging.

After.28 was pushed I noticed my prime was NOT charging. I checked the connection, the ends, the port...nothing.
I then called Asus and they told me to plug into PC and let it charge to over 50%...It sat uninterrupted connected to my PC for over 10 hours...this is a very slow charge...they then told me to call back and they would basically wipe data through Android Recovery to find out if it's software or hardware related.
After it charged to 75% on my PC I unplugged and reconnected AC charger....it worked. I didn't wipe data, I think it just needed that trickle charge. Similar to the first charge 8+ hours...
Good luck with it, I'd call Asus...I'm just telling you what they told me...I never called back cause it worked...
Yes it shows when you connect AC adapter, and yes it's audible tone
DROID DOES, Apple did...like I forgot when
I had a very similar issue, and really got nervous when my apple USB charger still didn't do more than a trickle. Then I read the power specs on the asus charger and realized it's got more power, so I went and bought another charger and sure enough that worked right off the bat.
Once it charged I did some troubleshooting and realized that the power brick itself (even though it wouldn't stay together from the time I got it) was fine, the cable was the problem. My cable appeared to be in mint condition, no visible damage or bent pins or anything, transfers files but only trickle charges. Finally ditched it and now I have one good USB cable and two USB adapters.
I got my charger for $25.00 at office depot I think, 30 was regular and it had a discount or something I believe.
reset switch
I ran into this today again. There is a little hole on the left side of the tablet with a hard reset switch in it. Stick a pin in there (quite deep) and the switch will reset the tablet and it will start charging again. if it fails repeat the procedure.

Charging while phone is OFF?

Ever since the update to ICS, my phone will not stay off while charging.
Anyone experiencing the same thing?
Next question...WHY would they set it up this way?
Like your phone will actually start itself while it is charging without you touching anything? That's SUPER creepy. Haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this particular problem. Does your power button work alright? It may be getting slightly stuck from you holding it to power down.
Power button works perfectly fine. I will turn the phone off...and it IS off...plug it in...it turns on. I try turning it off while plugged in...it will turn back on immediately...like a reboot.
Okay...I just tried it again...it works fine on the AC charger.
When I was using my 12V DC (car lighter) to USB adapter on the weekend, the above behavior was happening.
Hahaha, gave the phone a bit of an adrenaline rush. Happy you got it figured out though and that it's not a hardware problem. Happy charging.
With the combination you had below, my guess was the phone was going into docking mode (I had that happen) which one of the objectives is to become a desk clock (or gps?) so it always stays on. If you need to charge the phone FAST, you may need a different setup - check with CurrentWidget to see if you are getting close to the 1 amp charging current the phone will do.

Lumia 920 no charging indicator when on wireless charger.

So, just got my wireless charger in, I set it on the charger, the white light indicator comes on, no charging indicator on the phone. I have tap+send enabled, any other suggestions?

When you drop it on the charger it should make the happy "I found power" sound (if volume is on) and light up ONCE. That's it. The charger light will go out eventually when the 920 is full.
This is by design. Don't worry about it. It's working.

No happy charging sound, it actually seems to drain my battery, the phone doesn't seem to register the charger but the charger recognizes the phone. Also the battery indicator shows nothing.

That's not good. Either the charger or the phone's broken. There isn't any user settings on the phone to enable/disable wireless charging. Do you have access to another Qi charger to try?
I assume USB charging works. The phone should behave exactly the same as when you plug it into AC via USB.

it does, I don't, however have access to another charging device. The NFC works on the phone and the charger registers it but they don't sync up.

NFC isn't used for wireless charging at all. I think its time to get that thing exchanged.
It sounds like you have the Nokia DT-910 Wireless Charger. If so, i had a similar Problem at first. NFC inside the DT-910 was recognised, but it wouldn't charge. Fortunately, i do have two other wireless chargers here (Nokia DT-901 Fatboy Pillow and Phillips DLP7250P), both of them working with my 920.
So i checked the Power Connector on the DT-910 and found it wasn't fully plugged in. I pushed a Little more 'til i heard a click from the connector, and my 920 gave a happy pling and started loading.
Obviously, NFC doesn't need power to work.

I'm having the same problem with my 920 and the LG WCP700 charger; the charger beeps and indicates that wireless charging is in progress, but the phone registers nothing.
I was thinking I would try a hard reset before contacting Nokia support, but that's a pain and I'm not convinced it'll make any difference at all.

The WCP700 is not listed as being a QI charger.
You can't just use any old wireless charging mat, it has to be marked as being a QI charger.
Doh, just found that it is QI. But even when they say it conforms to a standard, sometimes they don't or there are side-effects. My Maxell QI charger gets warm and heats up the phone when the Nokia one's dont.

Yeah, that was my thought at first . . . but others have posted that they have had success using the WCP700 with the 920. I'm guessing that the problem now is with the phone; either there's something installed on it that's causing a problem, or the inductive charging hardware is defective.

[Q] Turn off "Charged" notifications?

Is it possible to turn off the charged notification? What happens is I have my Edge on a wireless charging cradle and will every few minutes it chirps to notify me that it is , yet again, fully charged. It did this this morning coming off do not disturb for the night. Very annoying.
I have the same trouble... sometimes it toggles frequently making wireless charging useless.

Discovered on Friday,... this does NOT happen if you have a high enough AMP'd charger. So, while this happens with my TYLT VU and other wireless chargers (below 1.3amp),... My Samsung wireless (2amp - which is really like ~1.7amp) does not do this.
Another ploy to get us to upgrade our accessories...

Upon hearing of the issue/potential resolution in another thread on XDA - I ordered up the Samsung new pod chargers. One for my desk and one for nightstand. They both work flawlessly.
Previously, I had issue with my TYLT Vu and the two Nokia pads that I had bought as part of a close-out sale. I have relocated those to spots where the power cycle would not be as annoying as my desk/nightstand.
All works great.
Hint: If you have the S6 plugged in or wireless charging "OK Google" will wake your device every time. Unlike the spotty responses you get from S-VOICE.

From 0 to 100%, it appears to be about 2h51m total. From the attached screenshots 50% to 100% seems like a little more than half the time as wireless charging appears to be almost linear.
That was with the original Samsung charger (the one with the pre-order), sometimes plugged to original AC charger, sometimes with USB3. There is a 30% increase in charging speed, USB charging below 900mA, wireless-AC charging at about 1.2A (with default Samsung charger). That would make a full charge in about 2h10m.

Wireless charger says connected but not charging!

Hey
So I know this kinda has been asked before but not exactly like what Im experiencing!
My original turbo charger broke after 3 years and I got another one off ebay and i think it was fake or something and when i left it charging overnight, the next morning i found out that it screwed up my usb charging port and now its not working/detecting any cable/charger anymore. So I figured i'd use a wireless charger so I got this model - https://www.ugreen.com/product/1327-en.html - and when i place it on top of it, blue light is turned on and battery lightning bolt icon on nexus 6 appears but it doesnt charge and im keep losing battery as if i was using it normally! any ideas? -- Nexus 6 7.1 rom, rooted and franco kernel.
Thanks
If you know someone else with a Nexus 6 you could test if the charger is compatible with Nexus 6.
But actually I think your el cheapo charger fried your charging electronic.

Yeah the charging system is gone; And from what I could search on the net, looks like it's not easily repairable.
Is it possible that somehow the wireless coil cable is miss-aligned or something? I opened it up couple of times before to replace the battery and lcd. And this is the second wireless charger I tested with and both behave the same! Says charging but actually not charging.
anybody knows if its possible to enable wireless charging on nexus 6 refub? im suspecting mine is refub and based on what i found here, its disabled by motorola!

yeah, refurbished nexus 6. I read on couple of reddits that motorola might have disabled them.
I opened up the phone, tried to re-aligned the coil, still the same. the charging bolt icon appears but when i go to Battery Settings, its says "Not Charging". this is super weird. i dunno what else to try.

I think you need to reallign the cable with the 4 contact landing zones. The position of the coil is not that important.
But wireless and USB charging are both power sources for the same charger chip. If this chip is fried you probably can't charge at all.

hm... you're mentioning a very good point. i opened it several times and aligned the cable, even added some tape to hold it in place. i guess its the chip since the wireless charger's blue led turns on to indicate device detected and charging but Android menu says not charging.
