Very Simple "Add to Cart/View Cart" Functionality - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

XDA Developers,
First I would like to admit my current Android Developer Status. I have began programming in this field about 2 weeks ago, and my knowledge is lilting. I plan to stick around these forums with intent to increase my knowledge, and not just use what you have to offer but actually learn!
Anyway, here is my dilemma...
I have already established an android application that includes product listings and an "Add to Cart" button. My intention is to add some intent to the "Add to Cart" button that will:
1.) Pop up, "This item has been added to your cart"
2.) Actually add the item to the cart
Of course then I am interested in how to develop a "View Cart" page to see the added items
I have already searched through online tutorials and developed something very similar. But it is such a rough copy, as opposed to sharing the messy code I've put together, I figured I would just ask on a clean slate
I appreciate any assistance,

I'm not completely sure exactly what you're asking for because it looks like a few different questions rolled into 1.
I'm just assuming that you are asking about submitting an application to be an RD (Recognized Developer) on XDA.
If so, then you will need to Officially submit your RD Application on the following XDA Link.

Good Luck!

Sorry, let me explain in some more detail.
Right now I have a product list page. When you click on a product there are two buttons: "Add to Cart" and "View Cart". However, neither of these buttons do anything.
I need some help adding an intent/function to the button, that when clicked it can pass text/price/image data to the "View Cart" page for each product
Thank you for the response

Okay...
We're getting closer for my understanding what you're asking.
Can you please clarify what specifically your referring to?
Is this an issue with the Google Play Store, XDA Labs Store, eBay, etc...???

Upgrading from Lollipop to Marshmallow or Nougat

Hi to all and as you can probably guess I am very new to this. I have looked around on different sites and tried a few things with no success. I have an S4 Galaxy SCH-I545 v.I545VRSGPL1 and I want to upgrade it from it's present status of 5.0.1 to 7.1.2 or better and I have a few questions. 1) Does the phone have to rooted in order to do this and if so what do I use. From what I've read (and I hope I'm wrong) this particular phone from Verizon seems to be a difficult one. 2.) What would be the best performing upgrade for the phones hardware. Thanks to all for their help.

Your best bet is to post this question within one the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

From what I was told, the Moderators typically just close threads to help other members with the same question/situation and, unless it's absolutely necessary, they don't often just delete them (though I don't know how many are deleted since I'm not a Moderator nor an Administrator).
Anyways... The following steps are the best way to have a thread closed by a Moderator and they prefer to be asked by the member who opened the thread (which is you).
1) On the first post, select the bottom left triangle (reporting a post).
2) When the next page loads, select the reason on drop down section (at the bottom left of the text area), then select the one that states "Thread/post moving or maintenance".
3) If it's because your question was simply answered, then type the reason within the text area. Something simple like "Can you please close this thread because my posted question has been answered." (you can also tell them that "Ibuprophen is awesome" LOL!).
4) Finally, select the "Send report" and you'll then be taken back to the thread. Your all set!
The report is then listed on cue for a Moderator. It typically takes anywhere from 10 min to a day or two. The Moderators are very good and are pretty much on top of things.
Reporting a thread isn't intended as a bad thing. It just elevates having to send call-outs and PM's to a bunch of Moderators till one is available.
You've now graduated from the "Closing a thread 101" course! LMAO!!!
Good Luck!

How to force an app to use HAL3 when connecting to the camera?

On a low end phone there are two amazing sensors and it would be a pitty not to use their highest potential. After activating api2 in the build.prop only Goo gle Camera is the one taking profit of the api2 camera
All the apps like Skype, Google Duo and others that use the cameras, stream the video call in the same horrible quality like the stock camera. Is there a way to comunicate to the kernel or these specific apps to use the HAL3 api?

XiaoMi Note A5 Prime

Hi I found an issue concerning that model, exclusively, and an app called n-Track Tuner. It has a diapason which is giving you the sound of a sine wave of any frequency that you choose but in this model it cracks and buzzes (I tried with many other models and they all worked well). They said to me to ask here as you are experts in this matters. I also talked with the developer and he's contacting with XiaoMi to report this. Do you know about it? Can you help me to fix this? Thanx

I don't have this device nor use that app but, i had searched around the forum for this specific app and found a couple that are older ones for different devices and doesn't have anything regarding this issue either.
FYI... The title of this thread threw me off a bit and since there's no "A5" from Xiaomi, I'm just going to assume that you had intended to state the "Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Prime". Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Since there's nothing specific to this app, then your next best option would be for this device.
The following area of the forum is specific to your device and variants.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5a
The following sub-area of this would probably be one place to try to obtain some member guidance within.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5a
Regarding any specific threads to guide you to, I'm not sure what specific component on your device that's the culprit for your situation.
If all else fails, the only other suggestion/advice that I can provide is to post your question within one of the following General Q&A threads on the forum.

Hello Mam, hello Sir!
Please allow me first to comment to the most likely unimportant part that you sent a message to a moderator but he/she didn't answer.
Please be aware that all moderators are volunteers who are doing this job for free and in their leisure time i.e. we all have a real life including family, friends, job etc. If you send a private message to a moderator you cannot expect him to permanently monitor his inbox; just the opposite: he might be on vacation and not checking the inbox or logging in on XDA for a months.
So let me partially quote this thread "The "Welcome to XDA" Thread", which might be anyway a good reading:
...
Last but not least, there may be times when you need assistance from someone on the XDA staff. Our staff is always here, 24 hours a day, to assist you with anything that you may need regarding the forum itself. However, please keep in mind that our staff is not here to answer questions about issues that you may be having with your device. We are here solely for issues within the forum itself that may need to be addressed. If you come across an issue with the forum, the easiest way to get our attention is by reporting a post.

Now your actual issue: As you intended to create a new DevDB project I assume that you tried to do this in a development forum. Am I correct. I see that you're new on XDA and I send you a very warm welcome. Good to have you here! However, please not the following that is most likely the reason for your problem:
...
Next you will probably notice that there is a restriction set on all new members for posting in the development sections here on XDA. Once you have posted 10 times, this restriction will be lifted. This isn't to punish new members, but to give all new members a chance to understand how XDA works before one is allowed to post in those sections. Please note that we do require a new members' first 10 posts to be constructive and helpful. Any spamming to avert this restriction will lead to posts being deleted. For a more in-depth explanation of why this rule exists, please follow the link.

My recommendation: Just read a lot, be constructive, post and ask questions or even provide your expertise in suitable threads but in such a manner that your posts add value to the threads. Do not spam threads by just posting "cool", "great", "nice app" etc. to achieve more posts. And eventually you'll be able to create and maintain your own DevDB thread.
