Even better, in my humble opinion, would be no additions at all, just the purest AOSP possible, plus necessary sensor fixes.
But I'm going to try this, thanks for offering/sharing.

I meant all those features like UI options, Status Bar/Notifications customization, Quick Settings/Recents/Battery Bar modifications, Animations, and so on, and so forth. All "superfluous" imho.

So one bug that I've seen quite a few ROMs having is the face unlock not functioning. But having the option to use the auto face unlock feature in settings.

The View 10 doesn't have face unlock support currently (Missing libs). The auto face unlock toggle is completely separate from the actually feature itself, which is why it's always there

Reported my exfat formatted 128gb sandisk sdcard as corrupt when it isn't. I know I could reformat it but I don't want to. It works fine on stock, lineage, and cosmic. Don't know what the issue is.

Can't get a screen shot because I replaced the rom. It was a notification saying the sdcard is corrupt. If I opened the file manager the sdcard was not visible. I ran into this problem on my lg g3 with an 8.1 rom. Formatting the card to FAT32 from exfat solved the problem. I don't know what the underlying issue was.

I've always wanted to try Screw'd but there isn't one for the G5, so hopefully now with my new View 10 I'll have more luck

I can barely deal with adb and THAT still scares me, no idea how or what to do with sideload
I'm not quite there yet anyway - I only got the device saturday and just received the bootloader unlock code, so that will be step one. Then I might try rooted stock for a bit before jumping in the cold water ... I'm not sure I'm advanced enough to be the "guinea pig" here
Thanks though, really looking forward to finally trying Screw'd :good:

SmartLock face unlock works well here (switch screen on to lockscreen, watch the phone with your nice or bad registered face, swipe to unlock).
If that's the feature you mean, be sure it's not a gapps issue.

About Project:
Cardinal-AOSP is a Custom ROM which was initially based on AOSPB, then we changed our mind and rebased it to AOSP-RRO, to get better compatibility with most of the devices, Cardinal is being built with Uber toolchain, with most of uber optimizations, with full Substratum Support and with minimal customization, the main aim of this ROM is to bring stock AOSP experience as possible while maintaining performance, smoothness and good battery backup. I hope that you'll all love this project, and help us, shape it even more better.

Does it have the same GPS bug as CM13?
Wi-fi not working on Benschold/kernels based on it.
Other than that, love the rom! I'm gonna see if I can find a way to resolve the wi-fi problem.

GPS working fine here.. Not 1 issue with it. Faster GPS lock than on Oxygen (at least for me) and since it's AOSP based I would assume it is absent.

Notification slider settings does nothing and reset to default when I leave the menu.
Also I find no option for Sim 2 ringtone.
Sometimes at screen transitions the screen glitches.

I can't vouch for SIM 2 as I only use 1 ... I've not seen any flickering but the alert slider, while it functions, customizing the settings do not stick for me either. Not sure what kind of log could be used for that since there's no visible errors.. the only issue I have is the text in some places seems too dark? If you switch to the dark theme you can barely see the secondary text.. like it's black on slightly lighter black...
Hello, compass won't work,, slider customization change as no effects, long press home button not launch google now, sim 2 not use lte only 2g, somes network modes isn't hide for my sim operator. data usage show only one sim.

Notch implement very well?
Have flashed and tested the ROM a little bit:
1. I have flashed the ROM only, nothing else. My device is encrypted. Booted without problems.
2. There is a flickering when booted and prompted for the SIM pins
3. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Hotspot working properly
4.Brightness/Adaptive brightness is derped. The screen is too bright, adaptive brightness faulty. The slider can be moved to 0%, but it:s too bright though. Know this behaviour from other ROMs in the first builds. Have also an weird red screen while browsing through the developer options.
5. Hide notch option in developer options has no effect
6. Notch doesn't look much pretty, even i have setup dpi to 392.
7. Taskbar doesn't work
8. Boot does not wake up from lockscreen, when D2W is activated.
Otherwise very smooth and fluid. Will test more.
Good job!

The rom is fast and smooth. Finally autobrightness fixed and can hide notch.. :good:
But, signal icons position is swapped. I'm using internet with SIM 1 but instead appears as SIM 2 in statusbar (see attachment) :silly:
Hope will be fixed in next build... Thank you.

I have moved to Stock Oreo Firmware base so you will have to flash Stock Oreo first and then move to AOSiP or else Fingerprint and NFC will not work
TWRP Flashable Stock Oreo rom

For those who can not move to Full Stock Oreo and just want Fingerprint working can flash this:

To downgrade to Nougat firmware for older roms, you can flash this :

Sir I have a quick question .
I have talked to many devs and read quite a bit about that EAS vs HMP debate .
Almost all devs says EAS is bad for 3.x kernels .
But I personally feel Optimus EAS is dope , smooth and battery friendly.
Attack also a abandoned eas test recently .
1. Can you please tell me whether your EAS builds are still under experimentation or you believe and
have corroborated that EAS ain't **** on 3.x kernels ?
I just want to be aware about my choices .
Thanks a lot for your awesome rom sir .

So far the quick question. For me EAS feels smoother and battery is the same. But with not being able to get it to work in a standalone kernel makes me unsure if I will keep it.
And if it is bad or not doesn't matter, if it works good then I am happy
I wanted to try this ROM, but the link for the latest version says "Oops, no mirrors found!"

Thanks bro
This is an amazing rom with most useful features . Thanks a lot for such a smooth rom.
Nicely featured, just a few issues. Clean flash/titanium app restore. Settings crashing when theme set to dark/black AF. Sound settings crashing when setting custom notifications.
Can we get grid or omni style recents?

I will try that, thanks. Figured out sounds app was crashing due to permissions issue. Needed to allow storage access and that is working.

Does go us works good on google camera ?
Does google pay works
Does it have moto actions?
start to use AOSiP Pie (build20181223), very smooth. Thanks a lot.
works fine:
VoLTE(Make/Receive call),
USB-OTG(SDXC Reader/Writer, Mouse),
Gcam(Photo),
Fingerprint Sensor and Moto Action,
NFC(IC card read),
Bluetooth(Jabra headset)
I found some minor problems.
1) Setting Menu/QS Panel Theme does not change automatically
I thought that this is due to using another launcher apps(Lawnchair v2),
So I changed the default launcher QuickStep, But the result was the same.
2) Duplicate search icon in some submenues in Owlnest
Statusbar, Notification, Hardware buttons has duplicate search icons.
3) Wrong title in submenus in Owlnest
Every menu title feels strange...
4) VoLTE icon does not display
VoLTE works fine, but VoLTE icon doesn't appear in the statusbar.
My Environment:
XT1685(retapac) with Oreo firmware
OpenGapps(nano, build20181222)
Magisk 18.0

Everything?
I would assume you mean that's it's stable and all basic functions work.
What about VoLTE (Verizon/T-Mobile/Sprint)?
What about advanced camera support such as GCam?
What other advanced functions can you think of that should be listed?

Since you specified Jio, I assume you're using the XT1900-2 (India, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand) model.
Can anyone speak for the XT1900-1 model (USA/Canada)?
I personally haven't looked deep enough to see if the two model are close enough that your rom will work on both w/o issues.
I referenced the models and countries at the GSM Arena website.
While I'm at it; does this ROM require the 'partition zip' like it does in Lineage before installing/flashing?

I believe I had the answer to my first question here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78053757&postcount=696
However, I would still need to know about if the partition zip is part of the installation or not.

Yes, I mean "copy partition zip".
It wasn't listed in the instructions on your OP, so I wasn't sure.
Based on your comment's first line, it seems that it is required.
Based on my limited knowledge, using the "copy partition zip" (enabling treble) will eliminate the need to be concerned about the specific device variant (XT1900-1/XT1900-2).

Thank you for you answer, this is much appreciated.
Future users of this ROM:
This ROM uses treble, that means that the variant differences are irrelevant since the firmware is separate from the system ROM.
Review how to prepare your phone to move from stock to a new custom ROM here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x4/development/rom-havoc-os-2-0-t3857752
The information is in the middle of the original post.
I recommend using the latest firmware available for your version (for me it would be payton_fi) and that is because the phone was designed for VoLTE on T-Mobile and Sprint for Google's project. Verizon works as well from my research and AT&T doesn't have VoLTE because they decided to not allow it.
Someday I'll have to make a special thread to bring all of the scattered pieces of information together.

Awesome! Thanks for the info!
What about custom navbar buttons? I mean options for long press and double press. Are they included? I'm to used to this to live without it.
Awesome ROM. Tones of features and customizations. My new daily driver.
I've only found two issues so far.
One is that the search option in settings is missed.
The other one is a known issue in almost all the Android 11 I've tried out and is related to OK Google detection. I cannot activate this option in the Voice Match option.
Attached is a logcat excerpt when attempting to enter in that option.
i have the problem with the network of CDMA(in China),automatically select network show "couldn't find networks, try again"
but it works well with the CMCC.
by using CDMA,the call and message work well
