[Q] PUC code related to unlock menu?

So on my phone, I have a sim card pin setup when you turn it on. After you incorrectly enter the pin number 3 times, it locks you out until you call your service provider. So I called my service provider, who gave me a PUC (pin unlock code) code and told me that there should be an option that says enter your puc or something like that. But there wasn't, so the assistant asked me to enter it in the emergency dialer. When I hit dial after entering the PUC, it said that it was not an emergency dialer. According to the assistant, it should have automatically accepted the code, bringing me to the issue of the unlock menu. On stock, when you enter in *2945#500#, it should automatically accept the code, but on custom roms, it doesnt. I believe the two issues are related, but I would like to confirm this first. And maybe this might be sort of a request to the devs asking if they can include the unlock menu (i have read that it is not implemented as it is useless to most people) since now I have to get a new SIM card (not that it is the devs' fault, but it would be useful for people like me).
Or you could borrow a dumbphone and use that to unlock your sim (unless you get to keep your old number if you get a new one).
I have yet to experience needing a PUC on my sim on this phone on this ROM.

just tried that but it didnt work. probably because my sim card has been locked permanently
if a simcard is locked, than its locked and can only be unlocked by a PUK code.
You can order a new SIM card from network provider, its possile i know if the PUK is locked too because of to many failed trys.
even if i break the code to use the SIM card again, you cant make calls nor use
the contacts on the SIM - the network provider is checking the SIM status and
locks it again.

thanks for the reply.
but does the PUK code have anything to do with the unlock menu or those hidden codes in general? i know that on stock froyo, some codes are accepted automatically in the regular dialer. on custom roms, these codes are not accepted in the regular dialer at all. the emergency dialer did not accept the PUK code just like how the regular dialer did not accept the other codes (such as *2945#500#) and i was told that it was supposed to accept the code.
sorry, i never used hidden menus and dont know if its implemented in android source
or its a extra feature by manufacturers like LG, HTC,Samsung etc.
As i know the PUK is only for unlock the SIM when the chip is locked and can only be entered on a lockscreen keypad.
finally solved the puk issue. on my phone it did not ask for me to input the puk code. then i inserted my sim card in my dad's phone (same phone except running on stock froyo). now it asked me for a puk code. if only custom roms had this functionality of accepting these codes...

Network Locked SIM card Inserted?

Hey guys Just put my Straight talk sim in (Att) and I activated my card with the sim and I booted up the phone and it asks for "enter network lock control key" but I thought my phone was unlocked so I checked by dialing *#7465625#
and I got the fowling
Network Lock [Off]
Network Subset Lock [off]
SP Lock [off]
CP lock [off]
Does this mean it's unlocked?
What code do I enter?
Thanks
Call at&t and ask for the code if you have an account. Or go to www.cellphoneunlocker.com and pay a few dollars. Or go to the thread for unlocking steps using some modem flashing.
But yes, if the phone asked, its locked.

Somewhere in this thread is the specific settings for ST data. You have to input APN settings and save them.

[Q] HTC desire 500 sim network unlock pin?

Is there a free way to make sim network unlock ?

[Q] problem with unlocking

Can someone advise me with my unlock problem
The phone is a samsung G3, on FW 4.3
I had tried the online free guides using codes, but his didn't work and I was advised to purchase third party unlock code, which I have done,
I have two sims to try out,
my vodafone contract, ( emergency calls only and not registering)
a new tmobile sim ( emergency calls only, registered)
On both of these sims there is no prompt to enter an unlock screen on the phone.
I have tied these
#7465625*638*UNLOCKCODE#
#0111*UNLOCKCODE#
On both occasions I get the message ( connection problem or invalid MMI code)
Does the phone connect on the network to which it is locked? It sounds like you have efs problems, not just sim lock.

At&t go phone unlock help

I have unlock codes for some A32's but the phones require the ATT app to be used to unlock device.
I even input some # codes to allow manual entry of unlock code but still did not work. How do you circumvent the ATT unlock app?
Thanks.
If it helps the phone is showing APP/APP/APP
appaently the prepaid units use CSC APP. Tried changing CSC to ATT and still did not work. It is almost as if the unit needs to be changed somehow to ATT instead of APP. I tried it as ATT/ATT/APP didn't work.
Is there anyway to change the original carrier info on the unit?
