Xfinity S9 plus no option for Fast wireless charging - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I just received my Infinity S9 plus and I noticed there is no option in settings-device maintenance-battery-advanced settings for Fast wireless charging. Same with my wife's phone. My friend with Verizon version has it.
Any idea if they disabled this or what?
thanks

What are you talking about? Plug in the phone to a fast charger and it fast charges. If your charger doesn't support that then it doesn't fast charge. Same thing with my old LG V20.
Mine fast charges fine, but seems slower than my LG a little bit.

"I noticed there is no option in settings-device maintenance-battery-advanced settings for Fast wireless charging''
Mine doesn't show the setting either on international version.

I have a Verizon phone and I have no such option. I only have an option for battery saving apps and fast cabled charging.

It was the same for me. The option appears after you put it on a wireless charger or at least a fast charging compatible one.

Strange, my friend who has a verizon model has the setting for fast wireless charging.
wonder if they are removing it so the phones don;t over heat...maybe.

Odd, I tried that already and the settings still don't show. Now I'm not using a samsung fast wireless charger, but it's a fast wireless charger.
Not sure what is causing it not to show.

My Verizon S9+ has it (maybe cause I use a wireless Samsung stand up wireless charger daily).

Yeah, that makes sense if you are using a Samsung charger. I am using a standard samsung charge from the... I dont know what device days... BUt yeah, the message says something about fan noise. I do know that my charger has no fan.

Go to settings/advanced features/accessories. There you will find the option for fast wireless charging. For cable fast charging, the setting is in advanced under battery. Stupid that they put it in 2 different places

I just bought the samsung fast wireless charger 2018 model on sale at best buy for $50 few weeks ago, been working fine on my s9+ from Xfinity Mobile. As for the option your looking for never had to look for it or cared to as the wireless charging works out of the box. There's no "faster" than fast wireless charging option if that's what your looking for which I doubt lol. As seen in post #7 screenshot I have the same option listed.

Just a thought, but maybe it's the power adapter attached to it limiting it?
I have the Samsung stand-up one, but it might be on an old adapter, I'll check later and see if I can get mine to show the setting.

After connecting an adaptive fast charger wall adapter to the wireless charger, the option did indeed show up immediately.

[Q] Fast charging not working

I tried to charge my S6 Edge with the Samsung fast charger that comes in the box but noticed that it charges my phone really slowly. When I plugged my M7's charger to the S6, it showed an estimated 2hr charge time, but when I connected the fast charger, it showed a 5hr estimated charge time. I noticed that it was taking forever to charge.
Anybody else seen this issue? What should be my steps to get it replaced? I bought the phone from BestBuy.
Thank you.
can you post screenshot?
Does it show "fast charging" along with the 5 hours time or not? If it does is probably the charger. If it doesn't it probably the phone. Take it back to best buy to verify.
I have one "Advanced Fast Charger" that will not inspire either of my two S6 Edge phones to report that they are fast-charging.
The other three I have all will, and with all four cables.
The one that won't, doesn't no matter which of the four cables is used.
I contacted Samsung and got an RMA for it. Even though I gave them the part-number for the accessory travel-charger, they insisted that I go to the "menu" on the charger and give them a six-digit code.
I suggested several times that the charger had no menu, but the (web-chat person) kept asking for it. Finally I told them the menu on the charger wasn't working either so I couldn't give them their 6-digit code, and that seemed to be enough for them to issue the RMA.
They tell me that it will take about two weeks to get it replaced. But that's OK, because my S6 Edge phone stopped auto-rotating today (two days after my 14-day window to return it) and that will also take two weeks to "repair" - so I won't be needing the charger anyway.
GO SAMSUNG!

I notice this when I use the fast vehicle charger from Verizon that is specifically meant to be used with this phone. It sometimes tells me 6 hour until full and then randomly it will display "fast charging" like it is supposed to and like it does when I use the wall charger. No rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes, it fast charges and sometimes it doesn't. I know it has to do with whether the phone is in use and if the screen is on, so I turned the phone off to test and it still didn't fast charge. Any ideas??

Were you able to find an answer about this? My old Note 4 used to charge really fast with my car charger, now my new S6 Edge is detecting my car charger as USB, and it's really slow to charge.

I ended up exchanging the charger for a new one and now it works fine. The first one must have been defective. I have the Verizon charger with fast charge technology.

I had the same issue. Used another USB cable and it worked fine. Apparently some of the cables they're shipping with the fast charge adapter aren't working right. Going to cause them headaches.
Posted my experience here.

I just started experiencing the same. I'm about to take it back to T-Mobile and see if they'll issue me a new something...right?

No QC3.0 included!

I confirmed that the charger that came with my device (h870) is actually a QC2.0 charger and it doesn't support QC3.0.
so, in case you want to decrease your charging time you might wanna get a new charger that supports QC3.0

What app is that? Are you sure it's accurate? Have you tried plugging in a different QC3 charger and varifying that app says QC3?
Yeah, I read that before the phone shipped as well. Or maybe just when it was release. Can't remember.
One theory at the time (at least I think it was just a theory) was that they went with a QC2.0 charger to lessen the wear on the battery. Don't know how accurate that is though. Neither the theory or the fact that QC2 would case less wear than QC3.
Yeah I stand corrected, it does seem to be a QC2. I thought they advertised it coming with a QC3 charger. Oh well it's plenty fast for me. I mean how fast do we really need? I can get almost 50% in 20 minutes.

Pretty much this. I haven't needed any faster charging. Might buy one for traveling. Topping up quickly here and there but for now it's plenty fast. ?

it's not an app, it's a built in feature in the software, can be accessed by entering the hidden menu: dial *#546368#*xxx# (xxx = phone model) > SVC Menu > Battery Test > Charging Test.
and yes, i tried plugging it to a QC 3.0 charger and it said "QC3.0 TA" after the test.
Specs on lge.com say qc3. I just repeated your test from hidden menus and it does indeed report qc2.I also have felt that was the only charging speed I was receiving
Just order this to test. Will report back when received it and tested.

Received the qc3 charger. Phone still reports QC2 on original cable. Then tried the usb3 replacement cable I bought and the same results. No qc3
Mine is an h872 Tmobile.
P.S. Regardless of what it is reporting, it does seem to charge faster, based on Ampere. Maybe a software fix LG needs to make???

Hmm, T-Mobile H872 G6 says QC 2.0 TA as well.
I just tried with a 3rd party QC3.0 charging base. Still shoes 2.0 TA in hidden settings menu.
Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Yah, this is odd. The specs on the Tmobile model given at LG say quick charge 3.0, and that a quick charge 3.0 charger is included. Hmm.... Self test menu indeed says quick charge 2.0

By following this procedure, my G6 H870 Italian does not show any value.
What should I do?
I connected the original LG charger, Travel Adapter made in China by PNTELECOM model MCS-H06EP after typing the test code.
I also tried to connect it first, same result: each entry does not contain any data.
The old Bait 'n Switch, I guess.
Sent a query off to LG about it, I'll let you know what they say
Hey in case any of you need more evidence in this discussion I did a test myself. Starting with the stock charger then switching to a QC3 charger and then back to stock. I seem like for whatever reason the stock charger is slower than it should be. The fastest charging I am getting does appear to be on par with LG's claim of 50 percent in 30 minutes but I am really not sure what the deal is.
Update on the issue: LG communicated with me, and engineers said that the phone's internal service software hasn't been updated yet to account for and report quick charge 3.0, it will only display 2.0. He said this will be present in an update to come.
Cheers!

amazing. I haven't tried the code yet to access the hidden menu on my at&t model G6 but the wall unit will only support 2 different voltages at a single amp rating per voltage rating. qc 3.0 spec allows the phone to communicate with the charger to ask for a specific voltage and amperage it believe it can handle based on charge & temperature. I will soon monitor the recharge rate with my new anker powerport +1 with qc 3.0. the battery life is so good on this phone I might have to test a recharge tomorrow. Its been almost a full day and I'm only down to 80%.........
34 minute screen time though ! haha mostly idle.
I have the always on display set to go out while I'm at work

Fast Charge issue

Was planning on using the fast charger that came with my S6 Active to keep at work. It still fast charges my S6 but when I use it with my S9 it only slow charges. I've checked the markings on the charger and they are exactly the same as on the charger that came with my S9 even down to the model number except for 1 thing. One says made in China and the other says made in Vietnam.
The fact that the old one still fast charges my S6 to me rules out the charger being faulty. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Ive been experiencing the same problem with my Mi power bank 2i.
When i connect it to S9 plus ots gives Fast charging message and then turns to cable charging.
I hope they rectify it in a patch.
This is ridiculously bad as i travel a lot and only depend on power babk 2i as it fast charges all samsung phones.
Any1 else having same problem ?
The charger that came with my S7 fast charges the S9+ without any issue, as does the 3rd party car charger I'm using. Does the one that came with you S9 fast charge properly? Are you using the cable that came with your S9 with the old charger?
I have a ton of chargers. The one that came with my nexus 6, my ATT prime time tablet, and my LG v20 and LG v495 tablet all fast charge my 9+. They are all Qualcomm fast charge 2/3. My Anker qc3 does fast charging as well. Variety of cables, some generic, some LG.
If I think of it when I get home I'll check my power bank. It's a qc 3.0 and is a 10k mah I think. Was 20ish dollars on Amazon.

Yep, the charger that came with my S9+ works perfectly, and yes I am using the cable that came with my S9+
I have the same issue with an ANKER charger and CHOETECH cable that was working perfectly with my S8+...
i charged the my s9+ after draining it completely without powering it ON.
Charged in 100mins.
The progress was like 15 mins -24%,45 mins - 60%, 80 mins - 90%, this is the first time i was able to charge it quickly.
I was very disappointed with charging time but this is third cycle, so i am sure its learning the way we use.
I charged it with QC3.0 charger
I will be posting more about this.
I think I have a Fast Charge problem with my AT&T branded S9+. Fast charging displays when I use the included cable and wall adapter and even if I use the included wall adapter and any of These Aukey Cables. But if I use those cables or even the cable included with the phone with This Aukey QC 3.0 Car Charger or This Anker QC 3.0 Power Bank I cannot get Fast Charging to display. Yes Fast Charging is enabled in Battery --> advanced. It worked for the first couple days with all combinations but now its as described. Even did a factory reset last night and restored from my previous phone's Google Backup which I did not do the first time (used Smart Switch the initial startup on launch day and only moved a few things over) Should I swap the phone out for another?
Im getting the same issue when using Aukey power bank. It does not fast charge my S9+. Works perfectly on S7 and S8. Do you guys have any luck?
Any resolutions for this? Same is happening to me. Is there a particular brand of cable that might help?

Most of my cables are Choetech brand from Amazon. Every single QC 2.0 charger fast charges my s9+
Just throwing this out there to rule it out, you can enable/disable wireless charging in the Advanced Features, Accessories section, check it's on.
Same here? Is this a bug introduced by a firmware update? Why aren't enough ppl talking about it

Samsung Galaxy S6+ Wireless charger works with s9?

Does it work properly?
Does it super charge?
Is there any problem of using an old wirless charger?
Should i buy a new one or something?
Sorry if this may look kinda stupid questions :\
Older wireless chargers work fine for the s9 and s9+
charge is slow, as quick charge is not supported by the s6 wireless chargers well a fast wireless charger will fast charge , but my s6 wireless charger is the regular non fast charge version and I know it works.
Phone does not get warmer then other charging options and my wireless charger is not getting hot.
I have purchased a rav power quick charger which I enjoy. It's fast.
Hope these responses help

Wireless charger says connected but not charging!

Hey
So I know this kinda has been asked before but not exactly like what Im experiencing!
My original turbo charger broke after 3 years and I got another one off ebay and i think it was fake or something and when i left it charging overnight, the next morning i found out that it screwed up my usb charging port and now its not working/detecting any cable/charger anymore. So I figured i'd use a wireless charger so I got this model - https://www.ugreen.com/product/1327-en.html - and when i place it on top of it, blue light is turned on and battery lightning bolt icon on nexus 6 appears but it doesnt charge and im keep losing battery as if i was using it normally! any ideas? -- Nexus 6 7.1 rom, rooted and franco kernel.
Thanks
If you know someone else with a Nexus 6 you could test if the charger is compatible with Nexus 6.
But actually I think your el cheapo charger fried your charging electronic.

Yeah the charging system is gone; And from what I could search on the net, looks like it's not easily repairable.
Is it possible that somehow the wireless coil cable is miss-aligned or something? I opened it up couple of times before to replace the battery and lcd. And this is the second wireless charger I tested with and both behave the same! Says charging but actually not charging.
anybody knows if its possible to enable wireless charging on nexus 6 refub? im suspecting mine is refub and based on what i found here, its disabled by motorola!

I opened up the phone, tried to re-aligned the coil, still the same. the charging bolt icon appears but when i go to Battery Settings, its says "Not Charging". this is super weird. i dunno what else to try.

I think you need to reallign the cable with the 4 contact landing zones. The position of the coil is not that important.
But wireless and USB charging are both power sources for the same charger chip. If this chip is fried you probably can't charge at all.

hm... you're mentioning a very good point. i opened it several times and aligned the cable, even added some tape to hold it in place. i guess its the chip since the wireless charger's blue led turns on to indicate device detected and charging but Android menu says not charging.
