Firmware 8.0.0.151 - Huawei MediaPad M5 Questions & Answers

Anyone install this firmware and can share its opinion?
I don't receive the official OTA but the huawei firmware finder says that I can install it.
Does it solve some bugs?

For me still not approved which model do you have im still on .122 since it arrived... And when i tried .123 from FF it started installing but the gave error..

I have the 10.8 lte.
I'm on the 123 (sp1 i suppose, the one that solved the streaming problem with Netflix)

In my case the update was automatically the first time that I turn on the tablet.
You can check with the huawei firmware finder app if you can force the update.
EDIT
I just check and the 151 is available as official ota.
Update in progress.
I let you know if I see any improvement or bug fix

@giovaorama I've got the update yesterday for my SHT-W09 and I didn't notice any differences in comparison to B123 beside the May security update

May security and now dimming problem is not avoidable. Last update apps dimmed only after reopening them, now it dims the moment you open them, so that's nice.
Edit: Resetting the tablet and installing pixel launcher fixed dimming problem if anyone have it like I did.

I'm sure this update when it first appeared on FF had face unlock but now it just contains the May security update?

I stel did not recive any update sins i bought it before 2 months, what to do with the netflex i start to hate the tablet becouse the poor multimedia optimatzation

After being bricked for a bit, I now have 8.0.0.153 installed on a c636 SHT-AL09.
I haven't noticed any new features. But B153 feels faster than I recall B121 feeling out of the box. Notably, the fling/scroll/click response (in web browsers and to a lesser extent the whole OS) seems smoother, faster and less buggy than I remember it. It could be a side effect of a factory reset - but generally I'm glad I ended up with b153.

Any issue with lag after all the software/firmware updates?

In one Japanese website, some users complained about lag but others rated that the respond of this device is excellent. Looks like there are recent firmware updates. So, after all the software/firmware update, is there a lag issue?

The 251 release of lollipop has a definite keyboard lag. Some keystrokes are not registered and you have to type the letters twice. I downgraded all the way back to the original release firmware and is snappy like the day I bought it.
I don't notice any lag at all especially the keyboard but I don't use the standard keyboard so don't know if it's that
I think some Japanese users complained about the respond time of the device. Perhaps the touch screen part.
Totally agree, z4 touch response specially keyboard buttons are not working well, after . 251 update
Italian here, also I have noticed a lag in the keyboard after the. 251 update.

Check the keyboard app version installed. I had a similar issue when using the Xperia Chinese/English Keyboard version 14.0. I resolved the issue by disabling "vibration on keypress" and "sound on keypress". The toggle is found under Language and input/Xperia Chinese Keyboard/General Settings. I presume this is a similar issue qith the Japanese folks. On a side note, the Xperia International Keyboard app did not have this issue post the firmware update. It only affected the Chinese Keyboard on my Z5 compact updated to latest software. Hope this helps. I'm on Android version 6.0 build 32.1.A.1.163

Android N 7.0 for Nexus 9: 22 August?

Nexus 5x and 6P should receive Android N (final) on 22 August.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...d-nexus-6p-nougat-updates-coming-august-22nd/
Maybe even Nexus 9?
Someone have information about it

I'm sure that if it does go live in Monday, factory images will be posted for all eligible Nexus devices at the same time.
It will have to be good to beat the current custom roms. Went back to latest stock marshmallow but soon went back to custom rom. I'll still try it though

Im looking for OTA, Factory image still not avaliable
Received the update yesterday -- it came as a surprise since I tend to receive updates later than sooner except the N previews.

Still waiting here. The images are not avoidable yet either.
How is it compared to stock 6.01?
Gone back to stock to get the update and 6.01 is pants compared to the likes of RR or AICP
Looks like the Factory image is available now:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#volantis
Direct link to factory image:
https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/volantis-nrd90m-factory-b718f71b.tgz
And it work very well on my N9

It's newer, a little more refined, but still Android. The bulk of the changes will probably appear on the new 2016 devices built with Android 7 in mind.
I read that if you sign up for the developer preview, you receive the 7 full release. I enrolled for DP1, received all previews thru 5, then the 7 release yesterday. I enrolled my N6 (my daily driver) after I saw that DP5 was stable but have not yet received it on that device. I guess anyone who completed the full preview cycle got the update first.
Loaded the new N image form google and every thing is working fine. Like the split screen and it seems to take less memory. So far so good.
I have downloaded and installed Android N OTA. All went fine, and the system is much better and reactive than 5 and 6 versions. I am quite satisfied up to now.
Sideloaded the OTA. Looks good, but seems the OTA doesn't have the Nexus launcher... Is this included in the factory image? And if so... Does some has the apk for the Nexus 9? I have installed one but I get a small black bar in the app grid...

The Nexus launcher has not been publicly released yet by Google and is not included with any of the N factory images. There is a leaked APK for it floating around, but it's buggy. I'd wait for the playstore release.

No, it was a blog that mistook beta B108 for the release.
So not yet unless you are a beta tester.

I couldn't possibly know this.
But there are a few things that might cause it:
You are not on the latest build.
Huawei ID email/account is not of the same region you try to sign up to.
Your country doesn't have beta.
You have rebranded.
These are the ones I suppose would cause trouble.

Is this part of the Global beta program or it starts to receive the regular PIe update? If so it would be nice.

Hi,
If I forgot to answer you, I'm sorry.
I think this is a beta of PIE 9, but it has exceptional new options.
Greeting.
Slobodan
Good day,
9.0.0.108 (C432E4R1P8log).
Are we all on this version?
It would be good to share experiences.
First experience:
surfed for almost 1 hour, recorded clips and recordings, played music, started new crazy options, loaded with the site, played mobile on smart TV via the "smart board" option, adjusted the options. spent about 5 hours almost without interruption. The battery ran out from 100% to 78%, while nothing was out of the question.
-the "smart board" option gives you all the content of your mobile on TV and work your fingertips on the screen on TV, from e-mail, viewing clips to playing,
- the option for a "wallet" is relaxed, but in Serbia,
the screen of the mobile station is a smart board,
4K video recording,
in 720 resolution, the video clips can be slowed from 120 fps to 960 fps. Perfect.
Some strange things,
the Wifi signal is continuously plugged in and I can not touch it by touching it,
In the label it says that the battery is 100% and in the settings there is actual consumption, discrepancy or what.
Mobile does not heat up while the camera is working.
They were a bit trickier with notifications when using melody and tuning.

Mate 10 pro and android 9 : any feedback ?

Hello,
I saw that beta program has started, and that some mate 10 pro already received the update.
I would like to know if the update bring any improvement ?
And what about battery life ? Still good ?
Thanks for your answers.
I'm using Android 9 since the first Beta. Since then I never had any problems. Everything runs very stable and smooth. The Beta doesn't feel like a Beta version.
Battery is like Android 8.
There are some improvements in EMUI 9 in usability an graphics. But not that much.
I used FunkyHuawei for update to the Beta.

Android auto on p20 lite?

Dear all,
I was wondering if anyone can confirm that android auto (connection to car head unit) is working correctly with the P20 lite.
I really love to keep my waze on my car head unit when I replace my iphone with the P20 lite (don't ask, company policy changed... )
Best regards,
Bart
I have been using Android Auto on my P20 Lite since july, with Kia Ceed (2017) and is working ok, sometimes but very rarely i am having issues like not properly displaying bottom menu bar, but reconnecting phone always helps.

As far as I know, the hyundai and Kia were using same radio units for some models of cars so there is a big chance it will work ok with no problems.
Works perfectly with VW Golf 7
