Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!

A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?

A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device, if you're encrypted you will have to use adb sideload, or put the zip on the external sdcard
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache (twrp doesn't support this yet), Data (if encrypted you will have to factory reset from your current rom) and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine
KERNEL:
This is a treble rom (not gsi though), so the kernel is not touched, make sure you're using the stock kernel for bug reports
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

I don't use the camera very much, so I don't think off that when checking out a rom. I just took a couple of pics with the default app and footej and they turned out fine. Sorry I can't provide more info.
Can this ROM be brushed in China?
Because I previously failed to flush into rros or omni or nitrogenOS , TWRP:error 7.
So far, only the lineageos are normal, so I would like to ask you first whether this ROM can be brushed in China, that is, there is a bottom package request?

VoLTE working. Camera seems to be stable. My OCD doesn't like the incomplete aicp settings but this does seem solid.

Permissive as all the O ROMs are right now I believe. I flashed stock gapps and Google camera not working anyone using another camera such as footej with success?
Camera stops recording video after some time just like los. Bummer. Having VoLTE Oreo is good though.

use the oneplus camera port or footej camera works fine
No BT call audio either. Media works fine though. When I get a call it routes it to the phone no matter what I do.

Oh hell yeah, AICP on Oreo. I'll try this one out, any features beyond the stock Lineage stuff and the few customizations that AOSPextended has?
Also, where's the changelog? The link in the OP just goes to the AICP downloads page.
I tried to install it but the boot process stops and shows a login screen that asks for a password. Any one else experience this? BTW, this is the first time I've tried to install Oreo on my G5 plus.
Edit: a little more info. I did clean flash it after wiping AOKP Nougat.

A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.

A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update) as long as the instructions of your
root solution do not state something else (="persistence on dirty flashing") !

KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

I applied the commits to this rom
Ok, I know this construction and the official version 12.1 tested, but uninstalled because it has too much background noise during calls, it seems as if the people I call are all in the middle of the road with intense traffic.
I've read that you've provided a new kernel for your product and I want to hope that there's no background noise here, so I'm going to try Oreo for the first time.
I'm on rom stock with only root permissions, if you explain the correct steps to install I would give it a try. I know it's written to do a clean installation, but I've read that it needs to be formatted so as not to run into encryption problems. I already have TWRP 3.2.2.0 installed, I wait for news and thank you for your efforts, I will be very happy to donate to support the project.

If I flash the gapps, block on the connection screen
(Tried with nano, pico and stock) with and wihout factory reset or full wipe.
Someone has the same bug as me?

Hi I face this bug too , on network just click skip !
Very good ROM, as always. Some issues with setting up the "Let's go" part, with crashes... but I got there eventually and no problems.
Looks like it will be my daily ROM with Oreo. Will we get updates as usual? Weekly?

Maybe this is not a bug but is annoying. when i tap home after send a message on facebook or whatsapp the keyboard stays on home screen and i need to tap home again to close the keyboard.
Is unlocking available on ambient display? Using the lineage os rom 8 I have to tap twice to unlock (compared to nougat it was possible to unlock directly from ambient display).

Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!

Yes... It absolutely does. And VoLTE. Both working I am on Verizon. Also HD calling and native video calling working for VZW.

Great ROM. So far no problems whatsoever. Doesn't have the Google Voice problems reported with the latest Benzo and crDorid Marlin ROMs.

That is good to know as that is not something I use, but I did see people having issues... Thank you for the feedback. New build tonight. Added toast notification effects, a couple sepolicy changes, and disabled lookup by default in dialer. I will add dirty flashing instructions to the op for people who like to keep up to date.(same as lineage) I will not upload the build if it is not stable.

The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

Magisk versions higher than 17.2 doesn't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash. Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time. Unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine.

You can't update official 13.1 to unofficial 14.0. you should either wait until official 14.0 releases so that you can update the current 13.1 build or wipe and clean flash unofficial builds.

I recommend clean flashing as per my instructions in the first place, you might be able to dirty flash from Oreo but there will probably be a lot of issues from dirty flashing

For aicp you can go from official to unofficial and vice versa just fine, no data wipe needed (although you should clean flash anyway for a new Android version)

Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!

Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:

A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.

PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):

This is the fastest ROM that I haveever used on my 2gb variant of the moto g5 plus that I have ever used. Only thing I would want is a custom color wheel for the accents
Didn't asked for Finger print, its not showing anywhere in settings, also moto actions not working ( gestures on finger print sensor )

Its gonna be annoying but flash stock Oreo. It will wipe your twrp so you'll have to reinstall it. Boot loader will still be unlocked. It's again going to be very annoying. After that, you flash the latest twrp ( What I recommend to you) and from there, wipe your Android version and put one whatever you decide to use.

Contrary to what a lot of developers have said, when flashing the fingerprint file, I have had no luck with fingerprint working. Every single time I have tried, it has failed. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but essentially the only way that I can get it to work at all, is to go back to either nougat or Oreo, and get the latest updates for the stock rom. I have had to do this like 3 times in the past few months, because I was stupid in decided to flash another pie ROM without fully wiping the phone, only wiping out the operating system.
Well, the fingerprint zip worked for me, so I don't think there's any harm in trying it. If it doesn't work they'd be in the same position as they are now.
