There is no more release of redmi note 2 roms !
@bule and @vova.favin stops there development.
and xiaomi didn't release any new android version, they are stuck in android 5.0.2 !
I'm now using Multirom version because of the camera resolution.
is there is any better rom ?
and is there is any way to contact the xiaomi team to release the kernel source code of the redmi note 2 ?
HI I'm trying to Compile Android 6.0 ROM from their sources, but When I'm trying to compile using @nofearnohappy and @Dinolek Kernel sources I'm facing sigcontext.h and TARGET_MODULE_BINARIES errors, I tried even to solve it by changing sigcontext.h from other kernel sources but without success.
I need a minor help too, but the most developers has stop to work on Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

Hi again, I have Great news for you, Dinolek published a new LOS 13 ROM and as he said, when we will get stable los13 then he will start to stabilise los14.1

I am patiently waiting for someone out there to help us. I need MIUI 8 on this beast. MIUI is my favourite OS but unfortunately they XIAOMI wasn't offering this kind of hardware at that price, so I moved to Leeco from my MI NOTE. We need MIUI 8 rom.

You can visit Coolpad form for latest nougat but it has lot of bugs...only xda can port ROM for cp5

so guys how is the porting and testing going on? Any stable version ready for roll out?
I think most of coolpad note 5 users are fed up of waiting for nougat, not to mention Oreo is out too which coolpad will never get. I think a stable nougat rom is the max coolpad users can ask for.
It will be good to have a nougat ROM for coolpad note 5.
Regarding specs, coolpad note 5 has Snapdragon 617 MSM8952 Octa-Core processor running at 1.5 GHz and Adreno 405 graphics. Can you guys clock the processor and GPU at higher GHz? Like 1.8 or 2 GHz and more. Take it to the max possible settings.
Most basic features are Phone/calling/SMS, Camera, FM, stock Naugat - just the basic apps - light weight.
In case you guys are not able to use other ROM features, it is alright to get just basic features with overclocked Processor and GPU. Keep the ROM as light as possible and recommend users with best apps to download.
When you are done do upload the link to new ROM. :good::good:

We Lenovo K5 Note users are stuck with Marshmallow in the age of Oreo. And searching the XDA didn't find a single ROM development dedicated to Lenovo K5 Note.
Even here people discussing and developing Lenovo K5 and K5 Plus but no mention for K5 Note.
Anyone out there working on a Lineage 14.1 or 15 projects or any other AOSP-like projects to bring Nougat or Oreo to this poor phone?
Or is it something like the development is impossible for K5 Note in this world?? :laugh:

Its mtk man there is no kernel source available to work so don't expect any rom to work easily
You shouldn't have bought a mtk phone instead you should have gone for Qualcomm

But its processor is quite good and it is able to tolerate further ROM updates. We surely deserve the lineage os15.0 oreo update. Don't you think?

I am running aex 8.1 Android Oreo that is well very stable and has volte working probably the best rom currently for this phone

I am sure this is the site but this is noughat & not oreo and also this is for lenovo A7000-a and not for lenovo k5 note which is A7020 i am also providing the comparison link below of these two phone's below kindly everyone see the comparison results and suggest me can i use this rom in Lenovo K5 note from the link mentioned above.

Well actually kernel is not an issue here , roms can be made using prebuilt kernel also atleast the Android version your stock ROM has . The real issue is lack of devs so either one of you guys learn how to compile roms or just make a port ROM for your device but my recommendation stay on stock as there will not be any noticeable difference in performance or bb .

I have gone through a lot but it's scattered all over the place.
I m a c# developer, quite understand programming.
I would be using I7 processor, windows 10 , for the build

For compiling roms .
Idk any good threads for porting roms but it's fairly easy and If you will google it the 1st/2nd result will do the work . Ironically there is no need of programming required for compiling or porting roms so just get started .

First of all, I think you are in the wrong section of the forum. But the mods will take care of this soon. But why do you want to use such and old android version? It is extremely outdated.
On kitkat Device will be in Extreme risk as There will be no new patches(staightfright and blueborne) and kitkat has low performance issue.
Missing Gate-keeper so any app will get permission directly
You can't port a KitKat ROM to our beloved mido as minimum firmware's SDK is of marshmallow.
What u wanna do with kitkat anyway? Oreo isn't good enough,

I like aosp roms and I'm currently using lineage os (oreo). I want to install xposed framework which is not yet released. Kitkat is a lite and good version of android. It supports almost all module of xposed. So please guide me to build a stable rom.

Brother , not all module works but on kitkat each and every module works fine. Kitkat is not a bad rom. People dont like because of security reasons and old look. Just guide me i wanna make for myself.
Kitkat is too old. So it's maybe impossible to port

Nobody will 'guide' you through the process of making a rom here. If it were that easy every pajeet in this forum would be making roms everyday. There's a lot that goes in to it.
Why Kitkat? I think it's near impossible to make it happen ;_;
Security issue will broke your phone, maybe
You can't port Lollipop/KitKat or lower version of android on mido, due to incompatibility with the SoC, as the minimum API Level is 23 or Marshmallow. Also, it isn't a computer, you can't install Lollipop or it's previous version of android on mido, just like can you install previous version of Windows/Linux on a computer.

check out the qualcomm website it says the minimum core sdk supported is marshmallow, even though you get a kitkat base there are going to be bugs impossible to fix. Even if it boots, hardware will not be usable, the blobs are not supported by android version. what exactly are you going to do? build the rom from source or just port the blobs?

Miui for rn3 is based on android 6.
Split screen is android 7 nougat feature.
U need to Flash custom rom based on nougat or oreo.

Split screen is already in miui 9 6.0 ROM. Just use latest developer ROM of miui9 or miui10. No need to flash custom rom

Split screen is already in miui 9 6.0 ROM. Just use latest developer ROM of miui9 or miui10. No need to flash custom rom

If they have backported split screen to MM Then its good. But split screen feature is good if u are on 6.5 inch or tablet phones.
