Where are the apk files kept downloaded by Google Play Store? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Today's date is 17.06.2018 and many things have been changed on the world as well as the patches of the store's download location changed throughout the time.
So, Where is the current location for Google Play Store? I mean the location before installation.
Why do I ask this?
I downloaded a large apk file from Play store. It was successfully downloaded but because of a configuration I use Google Play Store was unable to install it. After I turn this configuration off it installs the apk files without problem but when enabled it is not possible. Anyway, I don't want to download it again and if I forget to turn it off again in the future I want to learn the temporary download location of this apk files so that I can install them on my own if Play Store fails.
I had searched on the other posts but I couldn't find it in the locations mentioned in the previous posts.
I use Android 7.0 Nougat stock ROM on LG G4 H815.
Thanks beforehand.

How can I install Google Play Services/Google Play Store on a phone with just AOSP?

I need to pair a watch with a phone that has just AOSP flashed on it and so I'm trying to figure out if/how I can install Google Play Services/Google Play Store onto the phone. (In order to pair the watch with the phone I need to install the Android Wear App, but I can't do that if the phone doesn't have Google Play Store/Google Play Services installed).
My phone is a Nexus 5 with the Lollipop AOSP installed, so I just tried installing the GSP apks using adb but I keep getting error messages that GPS has stopped running.
I'm an iOS developer and new to Android and have been searching for days how to solve my problem without success, so I'd be grateful if somebody could help me with the following questions:
1) If I get Google Play Services and Google Play Store apks from somewhere like apkmirror.com and install them will I be able to access the Android Wear app on Google play and download/install/run it?
2) If not then if I get the Android Wear app itself from somewhere like apkmirror.com and install it along with GPS will the Android Wear app run?
3) When I try to install GSP why do I get the error messages about it stopping? Are there other dependent components I need to also install to make it run?
4) Can I install it using adb or do I have to install it using a recovery? If so, then why does a recovery have to be used to install it, whats the difference between installing via a recovery and installing via adb?
Thanks for any insight, I'm getting nowhere and getting frustrated trying to work all this out.
I had exactly the same problem and could solve it.
I described my solution here:
https://code.google.com/p/aosp4nexus5/wiki/AOSPforNexus5
The documentation describes two alternatives:
1. Manual installation which is lost with every new flashing of the system image
2. Integration in the build process to create a system image including Google Play Store as vendor-specific prebuilt APKs
Thanks, I'll try it out
Do you have any ideas where I could get GoogleServicesFramework.apk from?
Places like apkmirror have GooglePlayStore.apk and GooglePlayServices.apk for Lollipop but not GoogleServicesFramework, (why would they have 2 of them but not all of them?).
I don't have a Nexus 10 device so can't obtain them as you did in your post.

You can unzip the file gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip from BasketBuild https://s.basketbuild.com/gapps
You find it under system/priv-app/GoogleServicesFramework.
The name of the APKs may differ. GooglePlayServices is named something like GsmCore or com.google.android.gsm.
The Play Store is named something like Phonesky or Vending.
Thanks very much

Update Google Services

Can I update the google services? Lots of apps I want to use require the google services to be updated.
A lot of Google apps scream that they want the latest Google Play Services (GpS), but in reality will function with any version of GpS, and sometimes even without any GpS at all (just a dummy one), see this thread : http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=550506
In reality, just install these versions of google stuff as per instructions into /system/priv-app :
Google Account Manager 4.4.4
Google Play Services (GMS) 7.0.99
Google Play Store 5.5.12
Google Services Framework 4.4.4
And create /system/app/com.google.android.gms-1.apk folder to block GpS from updating.
Whatever app cannot work without the latest GpS for real, just find an older version of it, install it into /system/priv-app, and create an appropriate folder in /system/app (as above) in order to block the updates for this specific app.

Could be worse, could be CHINESE
Anyway, there is not much to it, other than people disabling GpS via that dummy app and then trying different gapps to see if they work.

[SUCCESS] Tackling 'Error -505" - Google QuickSearchBox fails to install

I found this "-505" error prevalent on two of my MediaTek MT6735 MKU82ZPZ/A devices, it's probably common with China Phones, which install a certain list of stock Google apps, the QuickSearch Box not being included.
I have found a solution for this, based on my issues with blocking forced updates with Google Play services and the Google Play Store:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3091832
I figured since these two added folders in the system / data / app folder prevented Google Play services from updating:
system/data/app/com.google.android.gms-1.apk/
and
system/data/app/com.google.android.gms-2.apk/
And that adding the specific folder for the Play Store also prevents Play Store from unwanted updates, then I should be able to actually Force an app to install as if it were a stock app (but it will not really be installed as a system app, it will still be "user").
I chose, not the latest beta for the Google Search app, but one from a couple of days ago:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-app-6-0-17-21-arm64-android-apk-download/
So that would be Google search v6.0.17.
Next, I renamed the APK file into the format that I used to block the Google play services update, and then I created a path in the proper system folder:
/data/app/com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1/
In this case, there was no need to add the dot-APK extension to the folder.
What's next? Okay basically you take the APK file that you had named "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1" and then you place it in that folder.
After you have moved it in there, you're just going to have to rename it to "base.APK".
And then using the app "FX", install it using "root package installer". Basically, just tap the APK file and you'll see a popup, just choose "root package installer" and then install it. Then reboot your device and you will have Google search on your springboard or in your appdrawer when it comes back up.
Needless to say, you have to be rooted in order to do this. It works best with the "FX" explorer app as it allows installing an The APK as a root package, which allows it to be installed. Because if you try to install it manually, it just fails.
This is for specific Lollipop 5.1 MediaTek MT6735 systems, maybe some other systems do it too, whenever you come across the "-505 error" - I don't know if this error is specific for this particular package or if will occur with other Google apps.
Whatever happens, if this succeeds in installing quicksearch for you, leave the base.APK file in that folder otherwise the app will stop working.
Oh yes, I dictated all of this into my MTK device using the regular stock keyboard with its new dictation button provided by Google search.

Add Google Play to Hyundai Fly Audio Multimedia

Hi,
I have a Hyundai i35 2016 model. it came with a multimedia system that runs Android . however it does not have Google Play store installed.
recently i attended Hyundai and the mechanic upgraded the multimedia operating system (to 4.4.2), and i was able to convince him to give me the update file
That file opens up very simply using 7zip and i was able to add any application apk that i want, and just use that edited file and upgrade the multimedia with it. so i can have any application that i want now.
unfortunately, i was not able to add Google Play store successfully. (it crushes when i try to lunch it).
After reading many threads, i understand that i probably need in addition to the google Play Store to install the following: (please correct me if i'm wrong)
Google Account Manager
Google Services Framework
Google Play Service
I did try to install those in addition to the Play store, but still it will crush (together with the play services..)
I am guessing that i need to use specific versions of all 4, but i do not know how to pick the correct ones. (maybe i'm missing something else..)
If there is anyone out there that knows what i'm missing and can help it will be awesome
anyone?

Hello
Tried the Link https://huaweiadvices.com/download-g...k-for-android/.
And download the Google Installer 3.0 & Old Version 2.0 APK, Also not Working :crying:
See The Attachment.
But Thank you Mr: @jwoegerbauer for the Method. Waiting for another solution.
Best Regards...
@SUNNY4EVER
Then try to install it manually.
How-to:
Download from APKPURE these 4 APKs matching your HUAWEIS's Android version:
Google Account Manager APK
Google Services Framework APK
Google Play Services APK
Google Play Store APK
Install the downloaded APKs in exact this order
Google Account Manager APK → Google Services Framework APK → Google Play Services APK → Google Play Store APK
to get the Google Play Store working correctly. Installing them out of order will result in the Google Play Store not working, and I can confirm this.
Re-boot

Waiting for Anyone give me how to install it.
I'm also waiting for a solution. The closest for me was the below.

The API which lz would intercept is no longer present on our devices. Currently there is absolutely no way to get Google services working. You can only get Vance YouTube which spoofs a Google API and allows you to log in to YouTube only.
Hi. Has anyone somehow managed to install google play services on the matepad 10.4? I can't believe there is no way to do it. Does anyone know if the google apps can be installed even though the google play store? I have seen out there that there are people who install virtual environments but I do not know if that will slow down.

Tried the virtual environment - it's not so good. I could not rotate the screen to watch Youtube in Landscape/Full screen.
I have tried numerous method, in the end, it is always the Chinese backup software not recognizing the Matepad that fails.
I've tried this method as well: pixelstech.net/article/1580640179-Install-Google-services-on-Huawei-MatePad still the same outcome. I have already downgraded my firmware in order to use Googlefier, but it is always this application that cannot work.

Googlefier - Install GMS on Huawei/Honor
Wecome to Googlefier, After a successful tool for LG G2 and LG G3 owners (AutoRec), but after a long pause, here is something new and I hope useful Googlefier is a simple tool, designed to help you install GMS on your Huawei/Honor device...
forum.xda-developers.com
How far is it, I have no idea. I have tried numerous methods, they always fail on this LZPlay. As long as this app prompted an error, then most likely you'll never succeed.
Hi guys hopefully there is a better solution I've found last night tinkering trying so many different methods. My matepad 10.4 is brand new factory sealed and just to make sure I hard reset it when I opened the box.
So was on the first firmware ending in .118
Tried using benders method but can't make Lzplay app to activate or even load past the error screen in chineese saying device not supported.
Only working methods I've found is to download an environment like vmos pro, dual space and gspace. I'm currently using gspace downloaded from the app gallery still on .118 firmware and no updates done on any apps.
Someone mentioned to download both gspace and gspace32. They work but the play store icon disappears. So I've left a few apps I don't want like WhatsApp on the tablet etc so when I click that, I press back on top left arrow inside playstore, then can browse the store. The play store icon disappears, but can still browse if you click any app inside gspace but never install that app. Obviously this is like second space and I'm not using my main Gmail account through the gspace app.
So hopefully a more robust way of using play store will become available instead of a virtual environment.
Is there any update?
Nope.... this tablet appears to be an impossible device to get Google on to.
This is the first time I've gotten an Android device that I could never figure out how to get the Play Store working on...
Is it possible to re-flash this device with another version of android?
Unfortunately Android without the Play Store is quite difficult.
I think there's currently no way to install natively GMS because since Googlefier doesn't support anything over 10.1.0.150 and that the Matepad 10.4 doesn't have any ROM that is under that version so I hope that maybe someone could find a way to install GMS with > EMUI 10.1.0.150
