Hi Secretwolf98
Is there any option to install this Rom in a SM-T230 (not NU) just like in your other releases?

After reading many feedbacks from others on my past ROMs that it won't boot on SM-T230. So, it won't work. Sorry, tho.

It's not going past the boot animation screen on my Samsung T-231.

i think when i was trying to flash your non working android p lite and fastest rom and they didnt boot i tried formatting all partition etc and starting over and something broke. i had cm11 on it at one point and it worked but whatever happened when i tried to get your other roms working broke something
i get unable to mount /data etc in twrp ill edit my post with a screenshot or pic later as mtp isnt working and adb doesnt detect it anymore.
anyway im trying to flash the stock firmware with odin at the moment...write failure
im guessing i need to flash the pit and repartition to fix this.trying that now

SOLVED: Can't root...but flash counter has increased

EDIT: SOLVED. ANSWER IS ON PAGE TWO. REMOVE BATTERY BEFORE ODIN REBOOT YOUR PHONE, AND THEN BOOT IN RECOVERY AND FLASH SUPERUSER. THANKS TO KINGHORSEY FOR THE FIND.
Hi guys,
I'm using a Rogers Galaxy Note on ICS 4.0.4. I'm trying to root it at the moment. I downloaded Odin version 3v 1.85 with CMW found at this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584576
So, installed the driver, the phone is recognized in device manager as Samsung Mobile USB CDC Composite Device, and when I plug it into Odin it gives me com 4 ok.
Clicked PDA, added the CMW tar.md5 and pressed start. Odin tells me it has installed the image properly. My flash counter went up one notch, but when I reboot into recovery I still get to Android's stock recovery (which does not allow me to flash Superuser from my SD card).
I'm probably missing something here. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you
Technically....nothing
I'd run it again.....g

Wasn't there a script installed on the Rogers ics OTA that restores original recovery on boot? That script needs to be deleted after root is achieved and then cwm flashed again for it to stick.

Try flashing cwm but don't tick reboot phone on Odin. Once flash is succesful , use 3 button combo to get into recovery. Flash su zip and reboot. Use file explorer of your choice to remove recovery script. Once that's done flash cwm again and hopefully it will stick.

Try mount/system/etc folder. It would start with install.recovery or something similar. It won't let you delete it until you're rooted using es file explorer or root explorer type of app.

If you pull the battery after flashing cwm but before it reboots then going into recovery and flashing superuser you'll bypass the install script.

All right it worked! I pulled the batterie before it rebooted and it worked. Thanks a lot everyone. I'm backing up my system as we speak before I reboot.

Probably should put a " solved" into the thread title...so other users can find this..
King ?
Is this info in the root thread ??
Edit:
He's gone I guess....thanks King.....Great find....g
I don't recall if its in the root thread or not. It seemed to be an issue specific to Canadian Notes and their OTA ICS updates. I'm not sure if it also applies to the AT&T version.
There was a thread about it a while back.
Surest way to bypass the script completely is to flash a copy from samfirmware. The script isn't in that copy and you don't get all the bugginess associated with an OTA update.
I highly recommend that method.

Just a heads up to anyone who needs to go this route....pulling the battery will get you into cwm recovery the 1st time. Once the phone is booted up the user will lose their custom recovery and will be replaced by stock 3e recovery.
Gubment Cheeze
I'd love to take credit for this fix but I can't - I only read about it here and didn't discover it on my own. In fact, I never had this problem since I used Odin + samfirmware.com as opposed to OTA updating.
The moral of the story is that even stock.upgrades are better when you are in control.

The script is still in place. Pulling the battery just gets you into recovery to root. Once you're rooted you can delete the script. Then you need to flash cwm again and you should be good to go.

I thought firmwares from sammobile do not have .pit files? I flash quite a lot from their website. No pit files. The only boxes you need to tick is auto reboot. That's it. Why did you tick the others?

I think you can use another USB cable because sometimes its the cause of problems.
Sent from my potato.
v1.85 shows it started the NAND write as compared to the prev version which you say stopped at the zimage step. Did you give it sufficient time? A few minutes at the very least.
Try a different cable. Also ensure you're using a USB port on the computer itself and not via a hub or a port on your keyboard or something. Odin is an incredibly finnicky s/w. If possible, use the USB port at the back of the CPU..the ones at the front are usually connected to the motherboard via extension cables and have been known to give trouble with Odin as well.
If none of this works, try another computer
good luck mate.

[q] help needed! Bricked s3?

Hello everybody from XDA!
I'm having a MAJOR problem.
I recently bought an S3 one week ago. I rooted it and deleted some of the system apps.
So I was playing around with Swap files and such, and I deleted "Swapper2" which then suddenly my phone powered off and it got stuck in a bootloop.
Now I've flashed before and sometimes with flashing some thing went wrong, but it never got me as nervous as this.
I did a factory reset and it didn't help.
Would it help if I flashed a stock jellybean rom again? I REALLY need it working again ASAP. I have a wedding coming up from a family member in the morning and I need to plan A LOT of stuff. I don't have a second device either.
It's 02:40 at night here in the Netherlands, so I don't have a lot of time too. Not to mention, because of this lack of sleep too.
Samsung Galaxy S3 GT I9300
Stock JB 4.1.2

With kind regards (and hands in my hair and stressing)

Swap is kernel related and the stock Rom's kernel you just flashed does not even support swap so it should totally disregard the whole swap thing. Anyway , Try to flash the stock rom once again without the sdcard in case something went wrong the first time.
Also check that the Rom's file you downloaded is not corrupted via md5 checksum.

Swap is kernel related and the stock Rom's kernel you just flashed does not even support swap so it should totally disregard the whole swap thing. Anyway , Try to flash the stock rom once again without the sdcard in case something went wrong the first time.

I flashed stock again without my SD card inserted. It did not help..
Would it maybe help if I rooted it with a custom kernel and flashed a custom rom? I myself was thinking about CM10.1
Also; does this mean the end of my new S3? I'm guessing a JIG wouldn't help me much either, as I can normally enter download mode..

Everything seems fine, I wonder why it does not boot. I really don't know if a custom Rom could save the day, but if you install a custim recovery, run megawipe to eliminate everything before installing your Rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832326

I've never used tools like that, so I don't have much experience with it. How will I put this .zip on my phone? I don't have a card reader on my PC.
Also, reading the topic I need to have a ROM on my ext. SD to flash after. Can't I just plug it into my PC and run stock again? Or would my PC not recognize the phone? I preffer stock and not custom..
*edit* I just realized booting into recovery gives me the: "E: failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)" Error. Is this my ext. sd card?
Also, I do NOT have a backup of my IMEI, or my efs. I read on some other forums that this is a pretty serious error, and most of them go to Samsung to repair the phone. I've avoided my warranty already, so I don't know if I can go to a Samsung center (we don't have one in my city, so I have to travel by train about 15 km) (Sigh)
Desperately waiting for an answer, and still with hands in my hair.
Ca you now grt into Recovery?

Yes, I can get into recovery. I don't have a nandroid backup, or a backup of my /efs folder. I didn't came to that process yet.

I tried this already. It still gives me the error to mount /efs file. Wiping data & cache didn't help.
Try restoring your backed up EFS folder .

Samsung s6 edge (g925f) stuck at initialisation when flashing firmware

So I was given a softbricked s6 edge from work to play with. Needs a bit of detective work as I have no idea about history of phone, only face values. Heres what i know;
boots in to odin mode
does not boot rom
does not boot recovery
when i try to flash stock roms through odin it gets stuck at initialisation
warranty void/binary samsung: official/sys status: official
What i want to know is what you would recommend trying in order to get the phone to boot stock rom, given the information i have. for example is there any way to narrow down or diagnose the issue? Anything goes and it doesn't matter if i hard brick the thing its just a mini project.
I will try methods and post results, hopefully they will help others in similar situations

Chances are OEM Unlock and USB debugging was not enabled in developer options if this was a work phone.
Try to flash a stock firmware, I would start with a MM firmware first. What model of s6 edge is it? G925F/T/I/V/A? It will show you in download mode.

They come in different models. You need to make sure you have the correct model. Post a screenshot of Odin mode?

Try an updated firmware then. Maybe try a 7.0 firmware. When you flash it post the Odin log here.

So its possible that the firmware version would be preventing it from progressing past initialisation

None of them would be the reason. It's usually because USB debugging is disabled in developer options or USB port/cable
Download the firmware and insert it to odin and we will take it from there. Make sure you use the csc file and not home_csc.
Try with Odin v3.10.7 first.

Build for T820 (Wifi) coming soon.
Reserved 1.
I use tweaked firmware android 9 on t-825. Version from 25.5.20 does not work. That is, I put it on top of 3.2.1 and twrp ceases to start at all.

Hi and thanks for your feedback!.
If flashing over the old version doesn't work, try to flash it manually via Odin.
Tell me please if it works.

Firmware through one does not help. There generally is a file analysis. Does this version work for you? Maybe I already forgot how it's all done?)

Hello and sorry for replying late.
I tested my recovery today (since I had no time the other days) and it works fine on my Tab S3 LTE.
What variant do you have? Because for the moment it's only available for the SM-T825 (the cellular variant). If all goes well the version for the SM-T820 (the wifi variant) will be available tomorrow.

hi @JordanBleu thank you so much for these. i bought this tab when we weren't sanctioned and now i can't afford anything else. i use it mostly as a annotation tool for textbooks and courses cause i can't carry books and notebooks around. is there anyway you can help me with compiling a permissive Bootable kernel for the stock rom? i tried to do it but it won't boot and when i used any kernel, it booted but wifi was out and the old method for fixing it doesn't work. plus as soon as i flash magisk it bootloops and overheats.
id really really appreciate some help on this. thanks
cheers
ps:couldn't use this on my tablet. it can't be flashed via odin and flashing the image with the old twrp breaks the recovery altogether.

Actually I removed every link of the recovery since it had problems and never even booted up, I'm sorry.
I will ask the moderator(s) to remove this thread and the other one of Evolution X of mine since they never worked and may confuse/mislead new users and get them into problems.
This is the thread of the semi official TWRP that works for your tablet: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359
Again, I'm really sorry if I frustrated you with this noob experiment I made a few months ago.
