Amazfit Bip - Notification for email and calendar - Only default? Not multiple? - Amazfit

Hi all,
I’m super new to the Amazfit Bip - I have it only since yesterday.
One thing I noticed however is this and I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or if there’s a way to fix this:
I have multiple email accounts and multiple calendars on my iPhone 7 (using the default Apple Mail app and the default Apple Calendar app).
It seems that the Amazfit Bip only shows notifications for the default email account and the default calendar (set within the iPhone’s Settings). Meaning I receive notifications for new personal emails but none for my work email and it’s the same for the calendar.
I’m using the official “Mi Fit” app on my iPhone.
Is there a way to change this, so that I’ll see all email and calendar notifications?
Thank you very much for any tips or suggestions!
Wolfgang

I am also facing this same issue and am wondering if there is a fix or loophole for this, too.

[Q] HTC EVO 3D E-mail notifications assistance please.

So here is my query, I have searched but did not find anything that remotely assisted me with my particular problem.
I have multiple e-mail accounts set up on my phone. 2 Gmail accounts, 2 yahoo accounts, and a pop3 email account for my website. It is also likely that I will have to set up my work e-mail on the phone too here in the not too distant future.
I currently get 1 email in any of the email boxes and I am constantly barraged with constant email alerts notifying me of new mail every 5 minutes it seems. Is there any way to change them to all only notify me of new mail and not just alert until I actually read the unread mail? It's not always possible for me to get right to it and to have those notifications continually coming in is a little annoying.. Is there a way to stop the multiple notifications and stick to alerting only on new messages for all accounts?
I should say I'm a recent convert from the iPhone 4 to the HTC EVO 3D and love every aspect about it except for this.
Thanks in advance from an HTC EVO 3D & Android Noob!
I'm not quite clear on your problem. Are you receiving multiple notifications because your using multiple email applications? Or are all your email accounts set up through the stock sense email app which provides separate notifications for each different account?
I have 5 email accounts. 4 are set up through gmail and the third is a pop3 account which I have forwarded to a gmail account.
I have my accounts set up through gmail and exchange activesync. I use the gmail app and the sense app because of its unified mailbox. I have the notifications disabled for each account on the sense app and just rely on gmail to notify me.
Another thing you can do is turn off the notification for the gmail app and customize the notifications for the sense app, since you can set peak and off peak hours. So for your less busy or less important accounts you can pull every 2 hours but for your important accounts you can set to push (if your set up through exchange.)
I don't know if this is any help. If you clarify a little I might be able to provide a more clear response.

Yes, I am using the built in sense email app for multiple mail accounts. I'm beginning to think that each time it reaches out and it sees an unread message on the server whether or not it has notified me of that single unread message. I'm not a fan of linking all of my accounts to one Gmail account on here as they all serve a separate purpose and I can prioritize them as needed by looking at the status bar notification.
I don't think I've touched the native Gmail app at all since I've had this thing. I have 3 accounts that are set up to reach out to get new mails at 5 minute intervals (1 Gmail, 1 yahoo & 1 pop3) and the rest I have moved to 30 minute intervals as they are not as time sensitive.
I just checked the native Gmail app and the notifications are set to off. I guess this is just something new to me since leaving AT&T and getting rid of my iPhone. I was hoping there was some kind of notify tweak that I was missing that would only prompt it to notify of new mails period. I can't always grab my phone to check mails immediately so that's how I noticed it..
I'm so green to this, I've only had my EVO3D for a week now.. I think I got too used to the iPhone but decided to lose AT&T and move back to Sprint. Any help or other ideas would be greatly appreciative.
And many thanks to you parousia15 for your assistance in this matter thus far...
In the Notification settings is there not an option similar to "Notify me Once"? I use this option in Gmail and also in Handcent SMS for notifications. I don't use the stock mail app so not sure it is there or not.
Vdubtx,
I checked that under the native mail notification settings and there is not one that I can find. I did just start with handscent so I"m trying to learn more about it as time goes on.. So far I love my phone.. I don't think I'll be changing any time soon...
I've tried to replicate your situation, unfortunately, when I get a new email through the native sense app, it beeps once and only once. It doesn't renotify me after any amount of time. I don't know what else to recommend. Sorry.

thanks for trying! I guess I'll have to try and see what I can figure out myself then..
I did recently find some complaints over on Android Central that were exactly the problem I'm having. These were from a year ago with the EVO 4G but no one had any constructive help there. UGH... My hunt shall continue tomorrow I guess..
I have yet to find a fix for this issue. I've come to the realization that the stock email app sucks with notifications. I just want a single notification of new emails not a notification every time it checks that I haven't read the previous email. Starting to miss my iPhone for this function!
Download the actual gmail and yahoo mail app for real time notification of new mail rather than unread mail. You can use the stock mail app for you pop3 account. That worked best for me.
As a mail server admin I have seen issues with POP3 clients (mobile and computer) where the client will not properly keep track of what is new.
Even more frustrating is that the server can cause this as well.
First thing is to methodically figure out if it is a certain type of email account. If it is the POP account then try connecting through IMAP instead.
The only real way to know is to sift through the server/device connection logs.
Worst case, to be less enjoying, you could turn off just the vibrate and sound part of the notifications and keep the icon.

I'm having the same issue. I ended up muting the notification and just having the icon display the new e-mails. Though it would be nice to have it ring only once because I would like to actually be notified without the repeat every 5 minutes.
This is happening on my EVO 3D and also on my dad's Thunderbolt. Both using the default Sense mail client.
I actually did a little testing and it is in fact repeating only when it checks for mail. If the client checks for new e-mails every 10 minutes, it will notify you every 10 minutes. This most likely means that it's not actually a reminder alert but an alert that new mail is present like someone else said could be possible in this thread.
That being the case, there wouldn't be an option to change that in the settings unless something gets updated. What needs to happen is that the client must recognize the e-mail has already been downloaded previously so it doesn't notify again and again that there is a "new" e-mail.

[Q] [MIUI] Turn off birthday reminder

The MIUI calendar (or contacts) app gives me daily notifications with the text "Today is XY Birthday, don't forget to say happy birthday or get a present". My contacts are synced with facebook, so I get this notification for all my facebook friends. I don't give a damn, so how can I disable these notifications?
I'm looking for the same answer. Googling my ass off, but not finding anything yet. It's a nice idea and all, but there's gotta be a way to turn it off.
Same problem! Any solution?
Have you tried to go into calendar and in the menu (click menu button) selected "more..." and then "Calendars" to see if there is a Facebook Calendar. If there is you can click it and make it not sync and not be visible. I do not personally have this problem and I am running MIUI with Facebook contact sync. Hope this helps.
I am having the same issue. I don't believe this is directly related to Facebook. It just becomes more annoying when Facebook is involved. I too would love to turn this off!
Turn off bday reminders
Any luck with this? I also can't turn off the birthday reminder
Clicking the notification sends you to the contacts, so it's most likely the contact app. Calendar is off the hook, I disabled every calendar and notification and still got birthday reminders.
Facebook may be involved I think simply because it syncs birthdays to every contact that has it set on their profile
Still, there is no option that I have found that disables these notifications, and if there is one, I'd like to know :/
make the birthdays stop!!!!!! i only care about one birthday, and that's my own.
Well, this still is a problem...

[Q] Calendar app with weekly reminder

One of my colleagues just got an android, and needs a calendar app with weekly reminders for a recurring event, e.g. tuition for one of the kids.
Does anyone know of such a calendar app, preferably free? I believe there are separate apps that can do that, but I believe she would prefer the reminder to be built into the calendar app.
TIA.
Has ur friend checked out the stock calendar app? you can set each event to either reoccur weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly I believe.... look at the options.

Calendar syncing issue on Galaxy S3

I'm just starting off with Android, and I can't figure out how to get my Google Calendar synced with the S3. Here is a screenshot of when I hit Calendars in "S Calendar": http://i.imgur.com/p3CcV.png
When I create a new event, I can choose which calendar it should be in: http://i.imgur.com/7V5lS.png
I created a Test event and tried choosing either of the other calendars, saving and syncing, but no matter what I cannot see the event on any other machine with my Google account. In Accounts and Sync, my Google account options are all checked to sync. This damned thing will not sync, though
(Contacts syncs fine, thankfully). Would appreciate any help!

My advice is to login from your notebook or desktop computer first and access Google Calendars directly as you can setup your main calendar much easier there. Once setup (calendar name, color, sharing options, etc), you can easily go under S Calendar and choose to sync the name of the calendar you just created online.
Afterwards, you'll be able to add/delete events from both your device or on your computer. Hope this helps!
Thanks, the problem is a little different now as I finally got the damned thing to sync with my Google account. Now, every time I create a new Event I keep getting the default calendar to be Samsung Calendar: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iq8bco0pnp7s2ni/Screenshot_2012-06-28-21-23-52.png
Yet in the S Planner Settings > Calendars I have this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdj6hpp3tjvo66y/Image-1530870737.png As you can see, I only have my Gmail account checked, I have the My Calendars/Tasks and Samsung account all unchecked.
I even went into Accounts and Sync and unchecked every option for my Samsung account there, so the only account syncing right now on my phone is my Google account. Still the new Events in S Planner default to the Samsung Calendar!?! Greatly appreciate any way to solve this
Have you tried clearing data in calendar and calendar storage in settings yet? Then resync calendar stuff after that.

I'm having the same issue after I created a new gmail account. It syncs fine with my BlackBerry. When I added my new gmail account on my S2 it wouldn't sync my calendar or contacts. I thought there was an issue with my S2. It won't sync to my S3 as well. Is there something in gmail that I have to do? The calendar dates are still syncing on my old gmail account.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks, I did that, even rebooted the phone, but Samsung Calendar is still default. I think I'm going to use Jorte and forget about S Planner, despite how great it looks :/
I fixed my gmail calendar sync issues. No need to respond in case someone figures it out later on.
I got Calendar Calendar Events synced just fine, but apparently it won't sync Google Tasks. It wants you to use the Samsung-specific task system I guess. That sucks.
As soon as I root my phone I will delete the calendar app. I use the "Jorte" calendar app (available in Play store) which syncs everything and has the most robust options of any calendar app that I've seen so far (wince the last time I went app hunting last November, could be new apps by now). Jorte allows you to view Google Calendar Events and Google Tasks at the same time in multiple, customizeable different types of views (monthly, various versions of weekly views, daily, etc). Jorte is SUPER customizeable. I have found no other app that comes close in terms of functionality.
Another app call "LLama - Location Profiles" lets you automatically customize just about any aspect of your phone depending on your location and time of day. It will change your profiles automatically when you enter or leave a location at certain times. You can even tell it to remind you about something based on location and time. For example, you can have Llama remind you to "Clean Mom's car" when you arrive at Mom's house, or to "Ask my boss that question before I leave work!" if you are at your work location and it is almost time to leave.
That's a shame Samsung won't let you sync Google Tasks.
It's even more of a shame that Android's native Calendar app doesn't support Google Tasks. Come on now Google!

Thanks, yeah I have gone through oodles of calendar and task apps over the last few days, tried damn near everything worth trying, and I've settled with an excellent combo for me: Astrid + Jorte + Agenda Widget. It does everything I need. Thanks for the Lama app heads-up, will check it out!

Similar issue, if I create an event using s panner on my phone, the event doesn't sync to my gmail calender.
However, the planner does tkae events from the desktop g-calender.

same here
What's the "desktop g-calendar?"
Though I've been using Jorte all this time quite happily, after resetting a few days back I solidified that not entering your Samsung account information on first boot of the phone solves the S Planner syncing/calendar choice issue pretty much. You must set your Google account up first, then a Samsung account if you'd like. S Planner will then see the Google account as "default" and use it.
desktop as in when i access from my desktop pc. or laptop.

S3 Calendar Syncing issue
I just added a Google Calendar from the play store. Synced instantly!

Dear Google-Android- and Samsung-S3-developers!!
Here is a list of some very annoying facts:
- I have a Sasmung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with the latest Android-Version 4.1.2.
- if I set up a new Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account on my S3 and sync it with my corperate Exchange 2010 Server I have duplicated entries in my S-Planner Calendar right from the very first sync.
- especially birthday entries (untimed entries with yearly repeat) are duplicated.
- I can reproduce this bug no matter how often I delete the calendar memory, remove and re-instal the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account, reset my phone etc.
- if I google this bug I get thousands of hits where users are reporting the very same bug with their Android phones (like in this thread).
- some of these duplicate entry bug reports go back for more than 1 year but so far no solution.
- syncing of contacts, emails and calendar entries with MS Exchange is considerd to be a basic function of a smart phone. That's why this functions is part of the pre-installed OS.
- the pre installed Exchange clients on all other devices (Apple iPhone, Nokia Symbian or Windows phones etc.) do NOT have this bug. Thus this is an Android bug and not MS Exchange.
SO WOULD YOU PLEASE FINALLY FIX THIS ANNOYING BUG IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!

Amazfit GTS Google Calender events as Event Reminders

I have Amazfit GTS, but I missing one functionality (maybe there is already such functionality or app that supports it, but I cannot find it).
I need my Google Calender Events to by sync with Amazfit GTS Event Reminders. I mean not Google Calendar notifications, but all events .So I can see all events that are following today and tomorrow. Currently I have to manage my google calendar as well as Amazfit GTS Events in Amazfit App.
Is it possible to write App that syncs both?
I am developer, but I never did mobile app and this kind of thing. I can start maybe with this task, if I would know that it is possible.
That's exactly what I am looking for....
That would be awesome!
Hi,
Any news?
I'm also waiting for it!
