Oppo Find X Case - Oppo Find X Questions & Answers

I know people have joked about "how will anyone make a case for this?", but I legitimately wonder if anyone knows anything about current plans for cases.
With a phone like this, I highly doubt we'll see any of the big case manufacturers coming out with anything, since it won't be popular enough for them (at least in the US).
Anyone know of any companies making a case? Or how they would even do it?
I imagine there will be two pieces to it, and they'll just have to snap on the top and bottom, then separate when it lifts up. Or maybe something that covers the phone everywhere but the very top (with cutouts for where the camera lifts to), and then just have the top slide out of the case entirely.
Anyone else have thoughts on cases? Design? Brands?
If I ever were to get this phone (which I probably won't due to the ridiculous price), I would absolutely need a case for it.

I'll use a pouch, I pay this much for pretty I want to see it. There will be cases available although with Oppo devices you can expect a high probability of waiting a while while it comes over from China. I'm thinking the only style of case that could drop protect the phone is a wallet so you would have to be willing to use that style of you were looking for that; mentioning it because I know many are not fond of wallets.

It comes with a gel case that covers both sides, back and bottom.

looking for the best case

hey guys and dolls, I am on a hunt to find the best case possible. I have a few very important features that must be met, they are:
Protection (obviously, lol)
must be sleek
not to bulky (don't wanna carry a brick in my pocket)
function (heard some cases cover the proximity sensor)
also would like the option of a kickstand (not gonna make or break a buy however).
I have read what several sites claim to be the "best on the market", however I find it really helps to get the input of actual users and not just the company selling the product (who obviously wants all the cash they can squeeze from you).
TIA
there is something called "bodyglove" it has a kickstand too i think. never tested it because its not available in european stores. so i never tested but it looked more than good to me in quality.
additional search for silicon cases - yes they really exist and you can still move your keyboard and its while keyboard is moved out still fully enclosured.
these silicon cases way better most time than these plastic (crystal) whatever cases out of ebay or such (i bought a lot).
the notches break after three times of removing the casecover (for pressing reset button). also its making nasty scratches on your chrome surface when a bit dirt is in between the phone and the case.
so pay for a good leather case (and thats not very handy most the time) or use a sleek silicon case (u never have to think about removing it out of a case for fully using your rhodium) it feels a lot better in hand and stays in place when you put it down on your desk in oyur car or whatever.
thanks buddy. I will for sure look into the silicon cases. my brother actually has the bodyglove for his Hero, but he does nothing but complain about it, lol.
sadly in the US we don't (or at least Sprint don't) get the beautiful Chrome back for the Rhodium. I have the "Millenium Falcon" battery cover. Though I would love to case mod my Rhodium to make it look sleek and slicker.
Thanks again for the words of advice.

Possible case design....OPINION

So since i have made the decision to keep my Prime i was thinking of some case designs. I would like to see a company make a design, that the hard case would come apart, like slide off on the bottom section and allow it to be docked. If i had the skill i would design one myself. I have been thinking of sending my idea to a company like Incipio and see what they come up with. I always have my devices protected with a case and this seems like the best design for this device IMO.
submitted my idea to incipio!!!

MiniSuit Leather Portfolio (for tablet and dock) - Review

I received my MiniSuit Portfolio on Saturday.. It is a very nice case, very well made. Yes - it adds bulk but if you can't tell that when you ordered it then you didn't look at the pictures . It's a tri fold so of course it will add bulk, plus the leather. It is obviously very functional, and the side that holds a business card can probably hold a few pieces of paper but otherwise too much or it will just get entirely too fat..
OK, so the obvious things aside..... Here come the constructive criticisms. I'm a little concerned with the fit. The leather covers the bezel so when you dock it, it is really, really really tight.. I wonder if it puts "stress" on the fit of the dock and tablet.. The part that holds the dock snaps on.. It has little strap on the top corners, and when you add those it added and even tighter fit.. If you leave them off, and the dock slides down quite a bit when you are using it.
After only one day's use, the parts of the leather that go between the tablets and dock are pretty scuffed up.
Since the dock snaps off, I thought I'd be able to use the case for just the tablets if I didn't have the dock. Well I CAN, but the magnetic closer is part of the tri-fold that is on the dock portion, and so unless you have that part (even if it's empty), then the cover is very "flappy" (which is OK, so just fyi).
In all fairness, I am calling MiniSuit tomorrow. I need to get ask about another part of my order anyway (a different case, different purpose). This portfolio case is also ever so slightly "off" center enough that the camera is partially covered up (yes I've tried moving it several times but it still settles into the same place) I don't think that is normal, my friend's case is aligned perfectly.. So maybe this one is just a little warped overall.
I'm definitely giving MiniSuit benefit of doubt here, I am sure they will replace this one anyway since he camera hole is off center. Perhaps they can explain the width of the the leather between the tablets and dock. It's late and I can't remember ever seeing a "spec" for that. All I know is that it is really small.
I've include some insanely detailed pictures for reference if anyone would like to see what I'm talking about
EDIT:.. Pics will have to come another time, gallery not cooperating

I'm looking forward to the pics! Thanks!
I just installed one of these covers on my wife's Prime and the camera on the rear is way off to one side also. And there are a few blems and over glues on the cover. I am not happy with this product. Let us know what you find out. I bought mine through Amazon so I am not sure what is my next step.........Thanks......
Ok, I talked to them and they were really great. They are sending me a replacement (and a prepaid label to return the one I have). They offered me a choice of replace or partial refund but I want to try a replacement. I told them I had photos of the camera port and the way the pictures came out and they very nicely asked if I wouldn't mind sending those in and thanked me in email for doing so.
I didn't not ask them about the leather being a bit thick (for my liking) or it getting scuffed already. I've read the reviews on Amazon and I don't really see anyone else mentioning this or thinking it's a problem. I'm hoping some folks on here get theirs in so we can see if there is a "space" difference between the og and Prime and maybe that is why it's not mentioned?
I think that is going to have to be a judgement call on my part. Dangit - if they had just made the bottom part hold the tablet with nice straps it would be fine, but the fact that it scuffed leather after one day ... seems to me like it is too tight. On the other hand......my friend looked at it, said he thought it looked fine and that it was leather - it would "break in" and flex. If I thought I would ALWAYS have the dock with it, I might be tempted to cut the dang leather off the bottom, but you can't really do that or the tablet will fall out with the dock gone. If I keep it, I might end up rigging it after a while anyway
Like I said - it's a nice case, very functional, it does add bulk, but anything we get that carries both will do that.
Ok...pictures. I used a toothpick for reference, you all have one of those and can tell for yourselves how far on will go in the small space between tablet and dock
Yeah, the case didn't fit my tablet and dock perfectly either. But their customer support is nothing short of amazing. I just emailed them, showed them a photo of the problem and they are sending me a replacement (they shipped it the same day I contact them). Should be getting it soon. Best thing yet is they don't even need me to return my defective unit.

Same here - they shipped it out and I have a tracking number the same day I called.
I didn't think they wanted the defective one back either, but in their email they wrote " A prepaid label will be included with your shipment for the defect". So.....I guess they want it back. Which is fine of course. I'm just not sure what they will do with it cuz I really don't think they are going to use it to make any changes or anything.
Well, I got my replacement. They did not end up sending a pre-paid return label so they don't want the defective one back apparently.
However the new one is worse than the first one as far as the camera port hole goes. It is obviously cut VERY wrong. So now both have been off very far towards the flash, covering parts of the camera lens. I realize i wont be using my camera very often, but I have noticed that it's rarely "planned" when I DO want to use the camera.
I also still have a big concern about the leather being so think between the dock and tablet. If everything else were perfect, I would likely rig it. I'd probably just cut it off. This would really only present a problem if you were to have the tablet without the dock because the tablet could slip out of the case with the having that section secured, but I'd just not use that case without the dock then (I have several other cases)
This is the perfect case for the combo, but it is flawed
Funny thing is - I received my other Minisuite case and LOVE it!! The ports and camera holes are perfect. It's the 360 degree rotating one (does not accommodate dock). I think, obviously, all these cases that look the same are made by some company in China, and then stamped by companies here. But for some reason the template they used for the nice leather keyboard/tablet combo is just not right.
Pretty much my experience, I do not believe they had an actual Prime in hand when they designed this case. Not pleased overall and waiting for better options.

LG G3 OEM Slim Guard Case - My Review

I recently picked up a LG G3 Slim Guard case and I wanted to share my thoughts and a few photos with my fellow XDA members, as I honestly believe this is one of, if not THE best case I have ever owned.
Let me start by saying that I have a very love/hate relationship when it comes to cases on my devices. While I am always striving to keep my phone in pristine condition, making some form of protection a near-necessity, nothing bothers me more than having to cover up the natural look of a beautifully engineered device. This is especially true with my G3 given that it is arguably LG's first smartphone to truly show the company's design language coming into its own. It wasn't until I stumbled upon the OEM Slim Guard case where I felt I was truly getting both added protection without sacrificing aesthetics.
A truly ingenious design choice is shown in the fact that this case forgoes the original back cover and instead both replaces and integrates a replacement back in the case itself. This keeps the added bulk to an extreme minimum and also maintains the original look and lines of the G3. Wisely, instead of a straight swap in exact dimensions, the substitute rear protrudes out ever so slightly to provide a bit of elevation from the camera lens. The material has also been changed to a slightly textured plastic and while I sorely miss the surprisingly great look and feel of the stock faux-metal, I appreciate the added grip and complete fingerprint resistance that the switch provides.
Further upping the ante on protection, the case seamlessly wraps a slim but substantial-feeling bumper of TPU around the edges of the device. While this style of case is nothing new, the integrated backplate design allows the G3 to maintain it's original contours and in-hand feel. Seriously, I can't stress enough how immensely better this feels compared to other TPU or hybrid case options. The bumper lines up perfectly with the edges of the screen and while I personally may have prefered a more pronounced "lip" that protrudes ever so slightly further to protect the gorgeous LCD, the minimal cutout should better accommodate a glass screen protector. As some users will attest to, a lot of other cases don't play too nicely with naturally thicker glass protectors and can cause fit issues or bubbling to occur. I recently just ordered a glass version for this exact reason and I'm assuming (and hoping) that they will complement each other very well, both with protection and looks.
LG currently does not sell the Slim Guard in the US which ultimately is the source of some of the negative aspects of this case. Because you will have to import this directly from Korea, as you can imagine it will not come cheap and interested parties should plan on spending over 50 dollars with shipping costs. Also, because it is designed for the Korean spec model, the case accommodates a non-existent TV antenna which will leave a small gap in the rear corner. Admittedly, this is a minor annoyance but undeniably present and noticeable as it breaks the otherwise clean lines. And finally, although the case advertises the addition of hardware for wireless charging, the spacing between the connectors don't seem to line up with my T-Mobile model. Just to be sure, I tried testing the functionality with my Nexus charging pad and unfortunately the wireless charging was unsuccessful. I unfortunately can’t attest to other brands of wireless charging pads because this is the only one I have access to but these initial results are obviously disconcerting. This incompatibility was probably my biggest letdown, as I was hoping to regain use of my wireless charging base since the American carriers strangely opted to exclude this feature.
In spite of these downsides, I still firmly believe that this is the best case I have ever used for any device. Clearly this is a matter of personal opinion, as you may value protection or slimness above a balance of both and the cost of admission alone may be enough to turn away many buyers. However, for anyone looking for some protection and great aesthetics with oem-quality finishing / color matching, I highly recommend splurging on this accessory.
Great review. Very well worded and thought out. I do like the overall design of the case and the idea that it replaces the back cover. I'll be living with my TPU case until these because readily available int he U.S. without the antenna cutout. (Assuming that happens)
I agree...EXCELLENT review! I am impatiently waiting for this US version case. This sounds like the perfect case for my preferences. Something extremely slim with better grip than naked along with not messing with the lines of the phone. :good::good::good:
Now if LG would just get the accessories rolling...I also need another battery and external charger.
I see 4 pins on it. Is wireless charging supported, then?
Transmission sent from my LG G3.

Looks like this case is for the Korean market. The pins are slightly different for the US phone so the wireless charging would not work on a US phone. Check out this ebay link to see the differences in pin placement:

Really hope they release a US version without the antenna cut out, that supports QI charging. And also in shine gold. That would be perfect.
I don't understand why case makers don't take this cue from LG make replacement back covers that also act as a protective case. I'm hoping this gets released stateside. I have a feeling it won't, though, because LG doesn't have the best product support history from my experience. I was looking to get either this or the Slim Hard case. At this point, I just need anything to cover the back because this is the most ridiculously slippery phone I've ever had.

100% agree. Integrating the back cover into the case should be a standard
Also, small update to my review. I mentioned that I ordered a glass screen protector assuming the fit would be perfect with the Slim Guard. I ordered a 0.3mm "Mobile Pioneer" brand screen protector from Amazon and it looks great. Fits perfectly flush with the edges and looks great to boot

Hey elterible,
Can you take a pic of the corner with the Korean antenna hole? No big deal if you can't. Just curious what it looks like since the back is removed. I am thinking it might not look too bad with just the cutout as long as it still showed finished section below. What do you think so far? Still holding up well? I really don't need wireless charging. Thanks!
Here you go. Although annoying, I will admit the cutout hugs the lines of the phone perfectly. This includes the ridges, which is nice because it doesn't leave any gaps for dust to get in

Thank you! I may give it a little longer to see if they make a US version. This doesn't look bad but it costs $48. If it were the US version I would pay quickly.

No problem.
Even now I will admit that the price tag is tough to swallow. Especially considering that, as nice as this is, it is still just a freakin case at the end of the day. However, I still stand with my decision to take the splurge. Let us know if you do the same!
Just to entice you a little more, here's one more pic with my glass screen protector installed. It looks and feels amazing! [emoji1]

Stop the madness!!!
I am trying my best not to purchase the Korean version yet to see if the US version will release soon. :fingers-crossed: It looks exactly like what I want! Thanks for the pics!
This is definitely the case I want. I am going to give it some time and see if LG comes out with a US version. For the time being, I got the Circle case and it has the same finish on the back and I love it. These are very high quality cases and just do so well to keep the phone's original shape and form factor.

Mobilefun.com has the slim guard case available for preorder but the description doesn't mention wireless charging.
I think an enterprising individual could modify the Korean variant to work with the US model phone by making an adapter that moves the contacts out wider. Another option, although more expensive, would be to try to remove the circuitry from the Verizon Qi quick circle case and put it into the slim guard case. I don't know how easy that would be to do but it looks like they are really just put in there with adhesive.
This is THE case. Please let this come out for the US (especially Verizon)!

Don't hesitate to pay top dollar for the LG OEM cases. These cases are much much better quality than any other cases I have seen. I was hesitant with the Circle case and I paid the full $59. After a few days, I wouldn't think twice about doing it again.

Yeah, I don't mind paying $50 for this case. I just want to give it a little longer to see if they will release the US version. Hopefully it will happen soon.

Foldback / Stand case for my 8.4?

Hello all
Am sure this is probably one of the number one questions, so sorry to post it one more time, but am looking for a case for my 8.4 an was looking for some suggestions.
Want something that obviously covers the screen, but can fold back 100% so I can lay it flat on the desk.
But would really want for it to fold as a stand too.
Hopefully can be tough as I work in some harsh environments, as well an in part due to this too, don't need it to fancy, an might think leather would be out, but would be easy to clean an not absorbent such as a cloth like material.
Oh, an am not looking for a key board, as well am hoping to keep the price down.
So as can be seen, is kinda why I posted as while I find some of the above, I don't find all of it, but I get too that I have to get what's out there, but just hoping I might benefit from others who have come before me to find as close to what all my needs are.
Thanks for any help.
