[Q] Location in Google Calendar App

hi
SO I have this SGSII now and using Lightning ROM on it, which has apparently the stock Calendar App. I can sync my google calendar etc and it works but there is the following nagging small issue.
If I create an event in google calendar and put a valid "google locatable address" in the "location bar" then it does show up in the event details. If I have phone number in the description it also shows up in the event details (in the sammy)
there is a hyperlink for the phone to dial the number also which is great.... HOWEVER, even if the location does show up there is no hyperlink on it, to directly locate the address in the stock "google maps" app!!!
I have to go to "edit event" and then scroll down, to the location box, and then there is the "map button" next to it which if clicked takes me to map... thats rather pain in the A**... Is there a issue-tracker for this app, where I can file an enhancement request ??

I expect you'd report it here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list.
Looking a bit further, seems to be this? http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17984

try search settings from the menu button when google search launched.
on the searchable items - tick the first option i.e. web
(unclick contacts/apps if you wish)
go back and do a search

[Q] How to force web browser login when using my school WiFi??

My school WiFi requires that you visit the website and login before you can have internet access. The problem is that the website doesnt always pop up automatically when I open my browser. I have saved the website to my bookmarks in the past, but even then It won't let me go to it manually (because there is no internet web browser access)
Is there a way to force access of the login page on these types of connections?
You could set up a shortcut to the log in page and make the shortcut what you use to open your web browser on campus.
I've never made a shortcut for a website on Android so I'm not sure if all browsers will support it. But I'm certain there is a way.
What you'd end up with is the log in screen ALWAYS being the landing page when you started the web browser using that shortcut.

I used to do that, the only problem is that sometimes it doesn't work. Sometimes I would go to that page and it wouldn't load because my device doesn't have access to the internet -___-
I need another option, like if there's an app or a way that forces the login page, not just tries to access the URL of said login. You know? It sucks I know -___- lol

Stock Calendar Map issue

In EMUI 9, stock Calendar app added "Map" button when creating a new appointment, to find the location.
However in order to work properly you need to press that button and find the location by scrolling and moving the map to the correct place. There is no search option to search for the location you want.
In addition, if you simply type the location you want and save the appointment, the "Show on Map" button in the event opens another app (amap) which does not work in Europe, so you cannot navigate there.
Does anyone have the same issue? Any solution to this, apart from using another app?
I have tested right now:
- I can create a new task without entering the location
- if I write the place name manually, I can't open it in the map, nothing is happening after pressing the location button
- if I select the place on the map, I can open it later in Firefox and Google Maps
IMO, stock Calendar app works good.
A pain in the ass work around is manually typing address in, then when you want to view it on map, click and long hold the address and it will open Google maps and search the address.
It sucks that it won't do it by default, but the weather information on the calendar/schedule needs the location set properly to pull weather data
But the Europe address seems to work for me

Thank you very much for your reply. Indeed your suggestion works, with one small tradeoff, the address should be put in English. If I put the address in Greek (my native language) it will not work. But for sure is better than nothing. Thank you very much

Correct, this is how it works, I would prefer though to have a search option on the map, instead of selecting it. But we will have to wait for Huawei to improve stock Calendar app for it. Thank you

Help with making a simple change to an apk

The problem I am trying to solve:
When I tap on links that are in emails I receive from ebay, then I can only choose in which browser will these links will open and not ebay app itself (which is what I would prefer). Sometimes, instead of a browser opening, gmail app's built-in browser uses the link which automatically transfers me to the app, but that only happens a few times and without me changing any settings (I have only tried changing the WebView Implementation setting from Developer Options (my two options there are Chrome and Android System WebView) but that did not make any difference.
What I want to do:
A possible solution that I have found is an app called Open Link in App (play store link) which, as far as I understand, can be tweaked in order to open specific type of links with specific apps. Some instructions on how this can be done can be found in Github here (this link can also be found in the app's description in play store) but I am not techy enough to follow them. I suppose that the end result after following these instructions would be a modified apk, so could someone please do that for me? If the end result is not an apk but it is still possible for someone to help, that would still be welcome.
Ebay links that are included in the emails start with
Code:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/
and somewhere in the address they include www.ebay.co.uk or www.ebay.com. Then, when they open in a browser, the address becomes
Code:
https://www.google.com/url?q=https://rover.ebay.com/rover/
and then just https://www.ebay.co.uk/ or https://www.ebay.com/
If you know any other way to achieve what I want, feel free to suggest it (although I have tried many things, including apps like Open Link With... and Better Open With and they did not work)

Re-directing can be managed by editing Android's file /system/etc/hosts
For example, suppose you want to redirect your browser to www.google.com whenever someone types www.facebook.com in the browser address bar, then follows these steps :
Open hosts file.
Find out IP address of www.google.com - IP address is found out to be 74.125.53.100
Start editing at the end of the hosts file : Press Enter to start a new line.
Type 74.125.53.100, press TAB key once followed by facebook.com.
Save the hosts file.
Now whenever you (or someone else) types in your browser’s address bar www.facebook.com, he/she will be redirected to www.google.com. You can follow the same technique on any other websites.
@jwoegerbauer
Thank you for the reply. However, as far as I understand, this is in order to redirect an address to another address (that will still open in a browser). What I want to do is: whenever I tap on a link about an item within an ebay's email, I want ebay APP to open and show the listing of that item.
